Sorry of the very long delay. I've been busy with a new job which literaly takes all of my time, writers block, my own novels, and a few new story ideas. Like a High School of the Dead, Resident Evil, and Left 4 Dead crossover.

Thank you guys who sent the helpful reviews.

Anyway lets get to it then.

The Normandy ground crew was waiting in front of the elevator that would lead them to C-Sec. We, more like Shepard, had just finished dealing with some Rear Admiral who was a little upset about Normandy in general. It didn't help that we, as in Garrus, Wrex, Tali, Liara and myself were part of the crew. Shepard managed to convince him not only the importance of the Normandy but the non-human crew as well.

"Impressive Shepard," Garrus said eyeing the Commander with new found respect.

"Yea," Ash cut in, "I'm sure you could convince a Krogan to become a pacifist."

Wrex just grunted saying, "I doubt it." That was when the elevator arrived and everybody climbed in. It was a very tight fit with all of us in there; most of the space was occupied by Wrex who seemed proud of that fact. After a very long and boring ride later we had reached the bottom.

Once the doors opened everyone shuffled their way out massaging the sore muscles that they had acquired from the ride down. Then we were immediately ambushed by a dark-skin female human with what looked like a floating camera next to her.

"Commander Shepard," the woman said waving her arms up, "Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani, Westerlund News. Do you have a minute for an interview?" Shepard looked at us before turning back to the reporter. I raised an eyebrow at the length of the reporter's name. I didn't think humans had long names.

"Sure," Shepard said straighten up and adopting a parade rest form, "But you must understand that we cannot answer every question." she clarified using her 'Commander' voice.

Well it looks like we get to see the diplomatic side of Jennifer for the second time today. Khalisah nodded her head while turning on her camera blinding all of us with her light, and started the interview. "People are saying that you are the first human Specter. How does is it feel to you?" she asked starting the interview.

Shepard said, "The Specters represent the best of each species. I feel honored to a part of that group." Khalisah looked a little disappointed but continued on, "You've been given an amazing ship," she said getting to the next question of the interview, "Do you think it was right to hand over the Alliance's most powerful warship to the Council?"

"The Normandy was actually co-designed by human and Turian engineers," Shepard clarified, "So it's not like we're officially losing it."

"One more thing. Rumors are swirling around that you are chasing a rogue Specter," the reported said, "Any comments on that?" I couldn't help but get the feeling that this woman was up to no good, and by the looks of everyone else they thought so as well. Shaking my head I turned towards Tali and began talking to her.

"I'm afraid I can't answer that question," Shepard said diplomatically. It looked like the reporter was going to her 'big scoop' looking around she spotted something interesting.

Khalisah immediately pounced on me, "Excuse me are you Jay, the human that grew up with the Quarians?" She asked gaining my attention.

"Yes," I said cautiously backing up a bit. The reporter began bombarding me with question concerning about my past, and my relationship with the Quarian people. Any and all attempts to stop the interview were met with 'the people have the right to know' or she just plain ignored them. I was having trouble keeping up with the questions but each one had the angle to make the Quarians look bad.

Finally she crossed a line that she would soon regret.

"So you admit that the Quarian people kidnapped you when you were a small child!" Khalisah exclaimed loudly with a triumphant smirk. Her remark gained the attention of some of the people around them. Some of them began muttering about thieves and kidnappers.

That was the last straw, "NO," I yelled out while glowing blue. I managed to gain the attention of everybody in room.

Good I want everybody to hear this.

"The Quarian people saved me from a human lab," I explain my voice getting louder and my biotics glowing brightly, "a lab that was running unethical experiments on my mother, me, and 20 of my brothers and sisters when we were just babies. BABIES!" I roared.

"My mother was constantly pregnant, experiment on, and thrown in to an eezo filled room. Did you know out of the 20 of those children I WAS THE ONLY WHO LIVED THROUGH THAT HORROR!?" I began stepping towards the reporter who took fearful steps backwards. I ignored the looks of shock as I past the different members of the ground crew. "You want to know why?" I asked, "It was because of the Quarians. They found me, took me in, raised me, gave me a home, a, family, a life when they didn't have to. I'm proud to say that I'm a Quarian you MOTHER FUCKING BOSH'TET. SO DON'T YOU DARE TRY AND MAKE THE QUARIAN PEOPLE, MY PEOPLE, LOOK LIKE THE VILLAINS HERE." When I finished I pulled back my arm and punched the reported in jaw sending her across the room. I quickly turned around and headed towards the elevator.

Shepard and her team stood there in shock, even Wrex was staring wide eyed.

"Holy shit," Ashley said.

"So he did know," Shepard muttered to herself. Garrus turned his head towards his commander, "I think we need an explanation on what Jay was talking about Jenifer."

Shepard nodded her head before turning to the shocked Tali. "Tali," the human Specter said snapping the Quarian engineer out of her trance, "Go to him he needs you."

Tali nodded her head and ran towards the elevator.

When the elevator doors opened I didn't waste any time in leaving it. 'How dare she,' I thought angrily navigating the crowds of the Presidium ignoring the glares and look of disgust. I don't know how long I have been walking, but when I finally stop I was somewhere in the wards although I don't know which ones. Taking a seat in one of the nearby benches I rested my helmeted head in my gloved hands.

My mind began drifting back to the past when I found out about my origin.

Flash Back Normal P.O.V

A ten year old Jay was walking around the Rayya heading towards the main room where Tali said she was going to meet the hybrid. Weaving in and out of the multi colored suits of the different Quarians that the boy had grown up with all of his life. He slowly made journey to the plaza.

Walking into the spacious room Jay looked around to see if his friend arrived yet. "Jay!" his friend called out. Turning to the side Jay saw Tali running towards him waving her arms in the air. "Tali!" Jay cried out rushing to the girl meeting her half way.

"So what is it that you wanted to see me about?" the hybrid asked his fellow Quarian friend. Before Tali could say anything a loud creak sound echoed through entire room causing everybody to stop what they were doing to look around to see where the noise came from. The sound came again only louder this time everybody looked up to see that a pipe was slipping from place. With a last screech the pipe fell, and everyone dove out of the way except two fearful children.

Tali clung to Jay somewhat grateful that she would at least die in the arms of someone that she cared for deeply. Wrapping his arms around the girl Jay threw his free hand up in a half-hearted attempted to protect them.

Suddenly Jay felt very drained like he had been running all day, and he heard a loud thud which was followed by a loud hallow thud.

The Quarian children opened their eyes and let out a started gasp.

The reason for their surprise was because of a blue dome that coved them. The dome seemed to come from Jay's own body. The dome flickered before disappearing from existence and Jay collapse to the ground from exhaustion.

Sitting himself up Jay looked at his hands were that blue glow originated from. "Jay?" he heard Tali said from beside him. Turning his Jay look to see that everyone was looking at him with a curious and a little fearful expressions, at least that what their body stance said. The hybrid was about to say something when Prazza beat him to it.

"This just proves that you're nothing but a FREAK!" Tali turned around and hiss at the boy, Prazza growled back.

Jay took this time and ran away from everybody; he didn't hear Tali call his name as Prazza's words echoed in his head. 'He's right,' he thought as tears ran down his eyes, 'I'm nothing but a freak.'

Mia let out a tired sigh as she rolled her neck. Her team had just returned from a supply recon at a nearby asteroid cluster. The mission was a success and they found tons of Palladium and Element Zero which the Flotilla could use, but the mission was very tiring. All Mia wanted to do is go home and spend time with her adopted son before she continued Jay's training or she got called away for another mission.

'Well the mission was all that bad,'Mia thought pulling out a blue crystal that she found during the mission. She planned on making it into a medallion and giving it to her son. The RAST team leader put the crystal away and looked to her friend, "Hal do you mind giving the report to the Board?" she asked the tech expert.

The green-black suited Quarian nodded his head, "Go ahead," he said motion towards down the hallway. "I'm sure that Jay has missed you," the techie said with a slight chuckle.

"AUNTIE MIA," Tali screamed running towards the duo waving her arms frantically in the air. The two adults chuckled but stopped noticing the girl's frantic posture. Tali stopped in front of the RAST team breathing heavily.

"What is it Tali?" Mia asked a little worried. Her mother instincts kicked in, "Is it Jay?" she said frantically, "Is he alright?"

The little Quarian breathed deeply before speaking, her voice was still a little breathless, "There was an accident in the plaza." Mia eyes widen as Tali continued, "A pipe fell on me and Jay, but he stopped it with some kind blue field."

Without waiting another moment the worried mother ran down the hallways towards the living areas, like a Krogan. She pushed her way through everybody and everything that got in her way leaping and sliding to avoid most obstacles.

When she was in front of her room Mia saw that a small crowd had gathered in front of her home, "Get out of here!" she said to the people, "All of you have work to do." The crowd disperses quickly and Mia gently pushed the brown cloth that was hung up as a door. Looking inside the RAST leader found that a few things were glowing blue floating around. Pushing a cooking pot out of the way Mia spotted her son curled up in a ball in the corner of the room.

"Jay!" Mia said running towards her son and hugging him. That is when she heard Jay crying. "I'm a freak!" he cried out between sobs and the objects that were floating dropped to the floor. Mia held her son closer putting all of her love into it hoping to calm her hybrid son. "No you're not," she said softly.

What happen next surprised the marine, which is very hard to do, Jay pushed his mother away and yelled at her. "YES I AM!" Jay held his hands out to prove his point, "LOOK AT ME I'M NOTHING LIKE EVERYONE ELSE." Jay's hands began glowing blue and in fear he shook his hands up and down trying to disperse the sapphire flame look-a-like substance.

"Jay," Mia said softly grabbing Jay's hands, which made the biotics disappear. "Why am I so different?" he asked curling up in ball again. Mia snaked her arms so that she held the boy in her lap. Taking a deep breath the RAST team leader made a life changing decision.

"Jay there something that you need to know," she said, "I was going to wait until you were older but I think now is a good time as any. I'm going to tell you how you came to be…"

I let out a sigh pulling myself out of memory lane. That day my mother told me about the mission where she found me. She explained what they had found in the labs, and how they came across…my…birth mother. I looked at my gloved hands through my grey tinted visor. I wonder what my life would have been like if I wasn't a test subject.

Would I be happy?

It's hard to see what my life would be if I was normal. But if I was normal, I wouldn't have met mother, Kal, Shepard, Garrus, Ashely, Liara, and Tali.

Tali…

With that name in my mind, I came to the conclusion about that person behind that name.

I…I…I love her.

I think I've always have. Since the first moment I met her all those years ago, and I think she does too if we are bonding. I clenched my hands into fist in anger and sadness. Tali deserves someone better than me, and because I love her I'm going to make sure she finds someone pure and untainted.

"Jay?!" I voice that I had not heard in a long time called out from behind me. With wide eyes I slowly look up and turned around. I saw the one person I would never think I would meet on my Pilgrimage.

"Mom?!"

I wonder what will happen next?
