Life can keep one busy.
Ch. 10
"Where should I start?" I asked putting my pistol away.
"How about who you really are," Shepard asked.
I let out a sigh, "If you're looking for my real name, then I'm telling you that right now I'm not giving it to you." I raised my hands to stop any complaints, "Not because I don't trust you or anything like that, but because it's extremely valuable to me." I motion to Shili, "Only Shili here knows it, and it is going to stay like that for now." Everybody nodded before I continued.
"Now the reasons why I didn't tell you all of this is because if this knowledge fell into the wrong hands of the current Shadow Broker or god forbid TIM they will stop at nothing to capture me."
Shili snorted, "Like they weren't before?" she said sarcastically.
I glared at her with my 'not now' look. "The next reason is…well to put it simply you wouldn't believe me," I said with a shrugged shoulder, "it's pretty far-fetched and unbelievable."
"In case you didn't know," Garrus said with a wave of his arms, "that's the norm around here. So why don't you give it a shot."
I clasp my hands together and said, "Okay I come from an alternate reality where this universe is just a video game/comic/book."
"You were right that is unbelievable," Garrus said as he turned towards Shili, "This is a joke right? He's just messing with us right?"
"I didn't believe him either at first," Shili said leaning into the wall, "But he knows things that no one else should and he was able to predict things with nearly pinpoint accuracy. Like the way that Idenna gets attacked and what happens afterwards."
"What but how?" Tali said with a shake of her head, "It's possible to-to do what you said to jump realities?"
Shepard straightens out and crosses his arms, "Alight, I'll bite tell me something that you shouldn't know and predict the future."
I scratch my chin going over everything I remember about this universe, "Alright I'll do both. Garrus," the Turian looks at me," Tell me if this sounds familiar okay?" he nodded his head.
"You were in the Turian military on this ship. You were about to hit a Batarian pirate squad There was this scout on that ship. You and her were at each other's throats, so you decided to relieve the stress in the sparring ring. You could've taken her down easy, but you were both the top hand to hand specialists on the ship." Garrus' expression morph to shock as he hears this, "You had reach, she had flexibility. After nine rounds, the judge called it a draw. So then you had a tiebreaker in your quarters... And you had reach, and…" I trailed off for Garrus to pick up.
"….she had flexibility."
While I let that settle in I swooped in for the second piece of information. "As for the prediction," I said taking a deep breath, "That might be a little tough to do as things could easily change with just my presence here." I motion towards Shili, "Like her for example, is not a part of the original crew that you were supposed to take to the Collector Homeworld."
I comb my mind trying to find something I could use. Then I had it, "Shepard," I said looking at the human Specter, "Cat women will approach you soon asking for help with her sister on Illium."
Shepard stood there waiting for me to continue. When I didn't he leaded against the table. "That's it?" he asked.
I nodded my head, "Yes," I said, "I could tell you everything, but I won't."
"Why not?" Garrus said, "If what you said is true this kind of Intel could help us greatly. Not saying I believe you or anything."
I rubbed the bridge of my nose as I let out a sigh. "Look like I said before things change for all I know all my knowledge is worthless," I said, "besides if how would I convince people I haven't even met to take what say for what it is worth?" I tapped my fingers on the table, "I have to look at everything before I tell because even the smallest of changes could have massive consequences."
"So you're going to sit back and do nothing?!" Tali demanded with a pointed finger at me, "And play with people's lives like some kind of childish god!"
My lips pulled back as I growled showing my sharp teeth to everyone before I slammed a fist into the table which buckled under the pressure. Everyone in the room got tense at my sudden aggression. "For you information Tali'Zorah vas Neema nar Ryya everybody on your science team except for you was supposed to die on Halestorm," I snapped and caused the girl to flinched a little but her glare didn't go away. I couldn't help but admire that in her. To stand against me knowing full well that with my powers I could end her, not that I would, but still take a assertive stance. Light's respect for Tali grew as well.
"So I suggest that you watch your tongue before someone rips it out," I said before I took a deep breath to calm down.
Once I was calm enough I began speaking again, "Any other question?" I asked.
Shepard crossed his arms, "I don't believe you, but for now I'll put this to the side and get back to this after your 'prediction' comes true."
I nodded my head and leaned against the rail behind me since the table is currently unavailable at the moment. "Now let's discuss your problem with my XO-"
I snapped my heard towards him and spoke, "That Shepard is between me, her, and Shili. "I'll make sure that it doesn't get in the way of the mission but let me make this very clear."
I leaned forward and spoke very low to get my point across, "If I find her anywhere near Shili I will. Kill. Her," I growled before I stalked out of the room.
