Lightning – My Hero Academia
Chapter 34: The Fangirl
Before, Ako was sneaking out of his dorm at night for only two reasons: either to train with his father or to visit his mother. However, after a couple nights of doing this, he started to get into the habit of sneaking out just to sneak out and be in the city.
He liked going to some of the local hangout spots and just observing people. Sometimes he would buy himself a snack or a drink, or he would visit a local store, but really he just liked walking the streets. When he saw pro heroes out and about, he would also observe them and see what they'd get up to.
It was on a warm night like this that Ako first ran into a girl that would prove to be a problem for him.
He was walking away from a more crowded city square. He was making his way down the sidewalk, wanting to put some distance between him and the square so that he could run back to his dorm. But then he ran into her first.
It was hard to say whether this meeting was planned or if it happened purely by chance. The way that she acted, it seemed like it was by chance. But then again, she might've just been really good at faking it.
Ako made his way down the sidewalk and looked back towards the square, trying to gauge if he was far away enough to start running yet. That's when he bumped into her. They both stumbled back in surprise.
"Oops! Sorry, my bad!" Ako quickly apologized to her.
The girl that he'd run into was cute; she looked about his age, maybe a year older or younger. She had messy blonde hair and yellow eyes. She wore a schoolgirl's uniform and a skirt with brown shoes. It looked like she was sneaking out for the night too.
"Woopsies...hey! I know you! Oh my gosh! You're Tanaka, right?! Ako Tanaka?" She asked, pointing at him excitedly.
"Haha yeah that's me. Do I know you?" He asked.
"No, but I know you!" She answered with a laugh, putting a hand on her cheek, "I saw you on TV at the sports festival! Your quirk is so amazing! I couldn't believe it!" She said.
"Ohh I see," He nodded and chuckled. "I keep forgetting that all that was shown on TV and like everyone saw it." He admitted, rubbing the back of his head.
"Haha aww but you were amazing! Congratulations on your big win!" She said, clapping her hands together.
"Thank you. What's your name?" Ako asked with a smile.
"My first name is Himiko! Please call me Himiko," She answered, smiling at him. "Hey, could I ask you a favor?" She asked, shifting side to side a little and blushing.
"Haha sure. What do you want?" Ako asked.
"Can I have your autograph?! Please? It would totally make my day. Oh! I have a pen and paper right here." Himiko said, pulling a notepad and pen out of the pockets of her sweater.
"Oh wow! Haha, yeah! Of course! I'd be happy to do that for you. I don't think anyone's asked me for that before." Ako said with a chuckle.
"Haha well then let me be the first. Here, you should press this up on the wall here so you can write it nice and neat." She suggested, stepping back into a nearby alley and pressing the notepad against the wall.
"Sure, no problem." He agreed, following her into the alley.
He took the notepad and pen from her, facing the wall and writing his full name out on the notepad: Ako Tanaka. Once he had finished, he turned around and offered it back to Himiko. She took it and looked at the signature, grinning with excitement.
"It looks awesome! Thank you so much, Ako!" She happily threw her arms around his neck and hugged him, "You don't mind if I call you Ako, do you?" She asked in a softer voice.
"Haha not at all. That's what everyone calls me." He replied with a smile.
Ako reached his hands up to take hold of her arms and gently distance himself, but he backed right into the wall. That's when Himiko threw herself onto him, leaning in and kissing him on the lips while wrapping her arms tighter around his neck.
Ako's eyes widened in surprise; this was an entirely new experience for him. He wasn't sure what to do about it. Nevertheless, he did find himself returning the kiss even though he was kissing a total stranger.
That's when Himiko pulled out a knife from her pocket and brought it up to Ako's face. In one quick motion, she created a thin cut sideways across Ako's left cheek. He yelped in surprise, but before he could react further, Himiko pressed the knife up to his neck.
"Uh uh uh, be careful now, Ako. We're just now getting to know each other, you know." She said with a giggle. Ako's eyes widened in surprise and he froze.
Even with his speed, she'd definitely be able to slit his throat before he could do anything to push her off of him.
"Wh-What...?" Ako stuttered.
"Aww, you're kinda cute when you're flustered. And you're a good kisser too." She complimented him.
"Ah," Ako grunted in discomfort, feeling the knife dig ever so slightly into his neck. "What do you want from me? Who are you?" He asked.
"I'm Himiko Toga," She introduced herself again. "I have some big, bad friends in the League Of Villains that would just love to meet you, Ako! And I know I would love for you to come with me so I can introduce you." She giggled.
Toga leaned in again. Ako turned his face away a little, trying his best to retract from her. She stood up on her toes a little and licked the blood that was dripping from the cut on his cheek. Ako could feel his face stinging from the sensation of her tongue dragging across the wound.
"Mmm. Wow, what a strong taste." She licked her lips and giggled again.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Ako asked, his eyes widened in horror.
"Hey, that's mean," Toga pouted. "But I'll forgive you, don't worry. So, what do you think about coming back with me to meet the other League Of Villains members? I promised them I'd bring you baaack. C'mooon. We can go together." She offered with a wide smile.
Ako swallowed nervously. This was truly a life or death situation here...he needed to make a definitive decision here and now...
"No. I'm not going with you." He answered, shutting his eyes tightly.
"Aww," Toga whined and pouted again. "Pleeease?" She pleaded again.
"No. I don't care what you villains want with me." He refused. Toga sighed in disappointment and pulled away from him.
"Fiiine...I'll give you some time to think about it, 'kay? I don't want this to end just yet," She decided. "See ya next time, Ako!" She waved and ran deeper into the dark alleyway.
Ako's eyes widened again. He pressed his back against the wall. Did that really just happen? Did he come that close to dying? Why...wasn't he doing something about it right now?
"Hey! Get back here!" Ako yelled, his shock and fear turning to anger. He turned towards her and shot forward.
Toga turned back towards Ako. She knew that she would only have a few seconds to react, which is why she was already preparing for her counterattack. She took a reserve of blood that she had for safe-keeping and sucked it out of the tube.
Her form changed to that of a brown-haired girl with rosy pink cheeks. She turned towards Ako and held her hand out, her fingertips pressing onto Ako as he ran into her. She fell onto her butt from the force of Ako almost crashing into her.
Meanwhile, Ako started to float into the air, no longer able to control his momentum. He flailed his arms and legs, grunting in painful discomfort as his legs started to go over his head awkwardly.
"Whew! Man, you're hard to handle, Ako! You almost got me there!" Toga giggled. He could tell by the way she was talking that it was still Toga, even though her face and voice was completely different; this was clearly her quirk.
"What is this?! Put me down!" Ako yelled.
"I will, I promise! As soon as I'm a safe distance. Take care, Ako! Can't wait to see you again!" She said with a giggle, blowing a kiss at him before running away.
"Hey! Hey! Himiko!" He yelled again, flailing his arms and legs again.
After about a minute, Ako suddenly fell to the ground awkwardly. He groaned and rubbed his back as he stood up. He wanted to go looking for her again, but he already knew that he wouldn't be able to find her.
This was a serious issue...he definitely wouldn't be sneaking out like this anymore. From now on, he would only go to see either his mother or his father...
