Once again, I want to apologize for the delay. School stuff, as well as this chapter being a bit hard to write. More information will be in the Notes at the bottom! Enjoy!

Ruby was excited.

A new person (who had a really cool weapon) had just fought and practically beat an Atlas Specialist.

That Atlas specialist also happened to be her partner's sister.

Ruby squealed "Oh my Oum! Weiss! Did you see that?!"

"Yes...I did."

"He was all like...washa! And boo!" She exclaimed, making frantic motions with her arms.

Weiss sighed. "Yes...he was."

"What do you think his weapon is?!"

Weiss deadpanned and looked at her partner. "A great-sword."

Ruby squealed again. "What about his semblance?!"

Weiss sighed. "Some sort of mist."

Ruby was about to burst.

"Alright, sis...calm down." Her sister said behind her.

"But Yang! He was cool!"

"You say that about every huntsman you meet."

Ruby bit her lip. "Yeah...but he doesn't have an Aura! How many people can make a specialist forfeit without an Aura?"

"Ruby is right." A new voice said. "He doesn't have an Aura. Which begs the question of how he can move at those speeds." She continued.

"Oh come on, Blake. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. Maybe It's his second semblance."

The girl named Blake rolled her eyes. As the three continued to talk about the new huntsman, Ruby took the time to follow him, as he left the room.

She caught up with him a few seconds later with her semblance.

"Hi!" She shouted.

The huntsman recoiled, but quickly recomposed himself. "Hello, young one."

"Can I see your weapon?!" She excitedly asked. The huntsman became confused.

"For what reason?"

Ruby realized her mistake. She was being too forward. "Oh! Sorry! I just really like weapons." She said sheepishly. "I saw yours during the fight. I've never seen something like it!"

"It is a special blade."

"How?!"

The huntsman recoiled slightly once more. "I'd prefer not to say."

"Oh...does that have to do with it being able to cut through Aura?"

"...Yes."

Ruby made an 'oh' shape with her mouth. At the same time, she heard the voices of her team.

"Ruby!" Weiss had run up to her. "We were wondering where you ran off too, you dolt!" She looks at the huntsman. "And now...I can clearly see WHY you ran off."

The rest of team RWBY winced at the tone Weiss held for the huntsman. The Huntsman, however, remained unfazed.

"I'm sorry to say, but I must get going. I have something very important to do."

He then mumbled something under his breath. Blake looked a bit confused, probably because she heard him.

"Hold on." Weiss said. The man looked back at her. "You used an illegal technique against my sister. You technically cheated. Not to mention that the Atlas Military will-HEY! Where are you going?!"

The man had started to walk off, not caring for what was going on.

"Sorry, Weiss-cream. Guess he found your personality a bit too frosted." Yang joked.

Blake snickered. "Okay...that was a good one."

"Hmph."

Viego let his armor fall and roared, releasing the mist that he had been keeping in for so long. The forest was then turned into an area of black and bluish-green. From what he learned from Ozpin, the Grimm were attracted by negative emotion.

If that was the case, then an abundance of Grimm should be approaching him, as he was currently fueled by his negative emotion.

Viego summoned his ZewiHander great-sword, and got into a stance. At the same time, the Grimm started to appear through the fog. Viego dashed, slicing one of the wolf-like creatures in half. He brought his sword down on another one, then turned around and stabbed his blade into the ground, killing a third one. He lunged forward by turning into mist, slicing a bear Grimm in half. Over the course of a few minutes, The Ruined King had killed over 30 Grimm, as they continued to pour out from the forest.

As Viego slayed another Grimm, he was knocked back by a giant pincer. He rolled over and then got back to his feet. He looked up to see a giant scorpion Grimm. The monster roared, and charged. Viego did the same. As the two were about to hit, Viego thrusted his sword forward, expecting the armor on the Grimm to break. To his surprise it didn't. The giant scorpion roared again, as it started to slice at Viego with its pincers. Viego brought up his blade to block each of the attacks. He managed to block some of the strikes that the stinger had taken. He turned into mist and moved backwards to put space between them.

Viego stabs his blade into the ground, then runs at the scorpion, tearing through the ground. He slices upward, creating a wave of mist that blows the Grimm back a few feet. Viego then summons the spirits residing in the mist to use them as distractions. As the spirits attacked the large Grimm, Viego slowly walked around the scene. Not to try and find a way to kill the beast, but for something else. He wanted to make the Grimm his puppet. The only unfortunate thing was that these Grimm had no souls.

But they didn't need souls...did they? They only needed to die.

The Scorpion threw off the remaining dead spirits and charged at Viego. In response, Viego Jumped and turned into mist, avoiding the stinger strike. As the stinger passed by, he quickly turned back and sliced it off. The Grimm screamed, at least that's what It sounded like to Viego. He watched as the remaining part of the tail thrashed around in pain. Viego then poured mist into his sword, engulfing it in a black and bluish-green light. He started to walk towards the creature, hell-bent on attempting to claim it.

Viego charged, thrusting his blade at the distracted Grimm. He knew the blade found it's target when the scorpion screeched louder. He watched as the mist began to surround the monster, going through the cracks that were in its skin, then glowing from those spots. Viego stepped back from the monster as it twisted and twitched with pain. Mist surrounded the creature, and suddenly, It stopped. Viego became confused, as the creature was no longer moving. Not in pain, and not how a wraith would act. It stood still, eyes glowing from the mist. A crown then appeared over its head.

Viego, for the first time in 1000 years, truly smiled at the sight. He could control the Grimm.

Viego approached the now ruined scorpion. He put his hand forward, and went to pet it. Unsurprisingly, the monster didn't do anything. He took his hand off the monster's head, and pointed towards the other Grimm that were being distracted by the wraiths.

"GO! Fight for your king!" Viego shouted.

On instinct, the scorpion charged forward, ripping any smaller Grimm in half with its pincers. Even lacking a stinger, the monster was still using its tail as a way to knock other Grimm back. Viego charges forward as well, cutting down any Grimm that he sees. As he slays the beasts, he thinks of what he could possibly do. If he could corrupt Grimm to do his bidding, would it be possible for him to make an army? He smiles once again.

All of the sudden, Viego hears gunshots coming from behind him. He summons his armor, and turns around to see what was going on. He saw that girl in red from before, killing his wraiths and other Grimm with a large scythe. The yellow haired girl with her before was also helping. She seemed to be punching the Grimm, and shooting them at the same time.

"Look out!" The red girl cried out!.

Viego turned back around to see the Scorpion Grimm, staring at him. Its pincers click rapidly. Viego then noticed the glowing crown was starting to fade slightly.

"Hm?"

Before he could do anything, the girl in red charged forward. She sliced upward with her scythe, decapitating and killing the ruined scorpion. She looked back to Viego with a smile on her face. What she didn't see was the frown that was on his face.

He was more than miffed. He was furious.

"You foolish child!" Viego cried out..

The girl looked confused.

"Hey! She just saved your life!" The girl in yellow said.

Viego scoffed. "Please, if you would have known the situation, you would have known that I was in no danger at all."

"And what Is that supposed to mean?!" The yellow haired girl shouted.

"It means that this idiotic girl killed a Grimm that I had been able to control!"

Both the girls' eyes widened.

"You...were controlling that Grimm?" The girl in red asked.

"I was...until you killed it."

The girl in red looked stunned, while the girl in yellow looked even more furious.

"So you're mad at her because of a mistake?!" The yellow haired girl's eyes turned red.

"THE WEIGHT OF THAT MOMENT WAS MORE THAN YOU COULD HAVE POSSIBLY IMAGINED!" Viego roared. More mist was pouring out of him.

Both girls stepped back, frightened at the sight.

"Now, I believe it is in our best intention that everyone would stay calm." A new voice said. Viego turned around to see the headmaster and the co-headmistress standing nearby. Viego scowled, and Ozpin slightly re-coiled. Not enough to be seen by a normal person.

Viego then scoffed, letting his armor disappear, causing a gasp from both the girls. He breathed in and called the mist back to him. It slowly did, and entered the triangular hole in his chest. The forest was then clear once again, revealing its normal green and brown trees.

"Miss Rose, Miss Xiao Long, please leave the area and head back into Beacon." Goodwitch said. The two girls nodded and quickly fled the scene, not wanting to anger the teacher.

Viego watched the girls leave. Anger still coursed through his veins. He had the ability to create an army. However, one thing was wrong. The crown uptop of the Grimm had started to fade.

"Mr. Viego. I would like to assume that there is a good explanation for releasing the Mist upon the Emerald Forest?" Ozpin asked.

Viego nodded. "I cannot keep the mist contained for long. While I control it, the wraiths would start to break out, causing havoc."

"And what are these...wraiths?"

"I choose not to tell you."

Ozpin sighed. "Very well. May I ask what you were doing with said mist?"

Viego hesitated to tell him. He felt as if this Ozpin figure already had an Idea of some of his abilities. He didn't need to know more. Besides, Viego felt that something was off about Ozpin's soul.

It was as if he had died before.

"I was only releasing it for a bit. Letting the wraith inside destroy Grimm to satisfy their feeling of destruction."

Ozpin nodded. "Very well. Thank you for letting me know. That being said, If you need to do this again, please inform me so that we can take you to another area. I do not want these wraiths to cause problems."

Viego nodded as well, and walked back towards the school. He had a lot to think about from this experience.

/ = /

"You saw what I saw, Ozpin. He was controlling that Deathstalker!" Glynda yelled.

The two officials had moved from the Emerald Forest back into Ozpin's office.

"Do you know what that could mean?!"

"I am perfectly aware of what it means, Glynda." Ozpin said calmly. His right eye was twitching, however.

She scoffed. "I'm not sure you do. He is a danger to our stud-"

"YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW THAT!?"

Glynda recoiled hard, surprised at Ozpin's tone. He was never known to shout.

"Every second I look at him, I get a feeling of dread. The fact that he has the power to take souls, AND can control Grimm…" Ozpin put his head in his hands. "He could be worse than her…"

"Do...do you really think so?"

Ozpin nodded glumly. "It's a strong possibility. Not to mention what happened In Mistral, which is already a catastrophe in itself." He sighed. "I have a feeling...that he will never willingly work with us."

"You...do you think he will go rogue?"

"Rogue is the wrong term, Glynda. He was never originally working with us. He believes we can get his "queen" back. When he finds out that we can't…"

Glynda's eyes widen. "You believe he will be the downfall of Beacon?"

"It is a possibility. Think about it. The only person who is able to utilize the black mist is him. He somehow caused the minor destruction of Haven. Now, knowing that he has no Aura…" Ozpin's eyes widened. "What...what if he could do it?"

"Do what?" Glynda asked.

Ozpin looked at her. "Nothing important...sorry...I just...am so lost on what to do." He sighed. "Keep an eye on him for as long as possible. Who knows what he could be planning."

Glynda nodded, and left the office. Ozpin stood up and looked out the window.

"What if he could kill her?"

/ = /

In the palm of his hand, small orbs of mist traveled clockwise. Viego sat on the bed in "his" room, thinking about the events that happened in the forest. He had been able to control Grimm, meaning he did in fact have all of his powers, but they were weakened. Hence the supposed slow loss of control over the scorpion.

He could become stronger. No, he needed to become stronger. If he were to get his Isolde back, he would need to further grasp the power of the black mist.

Viego summoned his blade, and rested it beside him. He looked at it and wondered to himself, what were his plans. If Isolde was not in this world, how would he get back to her? What would he do?

What would he become?

Would he attempt to destroy this world in a fit of rage? Or would he stay calm, and think rationally. He had been able to do some of that while in this world...why couldn't he do it again?"

"Because Isolde is now Involved."

What was stopping him from releasing a wave of harrowing upon this city? What was stopping him from creating another Ruination?

What of his Loyalists? What of Hecarim? Did they even matter?

"No...Only Isolde…"

The orbs of mist in his hand started to move faster, threatening to fly out of Viego's grasp and spreading around the school. Instead Viego closed his hand, letting the mist flow back into him.

What was he doing here? Out of every place, why was a school the place Viego was currently at?

How did that pillar even bring him here? Was it some leftover magic from the Blessed Isles? Or had someone sabotaged the area?

Almost immediately, his thoughts were stopped. As he sensed something of interest to him. He felt two people with multiple souls residing within them. One of them being fairly close by, the other being below him.

"I-Isolde?!"

Viego picked up his ZewiHӓndler, and let it face out into mist so he didn't have to carry it. He opened the door -not bothering to summon his armor- and started walking towards the source.

He didn't expect the students to be up at the moment due to the moon being out, but he was wrong. He was stared at by a few passing students, but he didn't care. Viego's movement picked up when he sensed the person with multiple souls start moving away.

He was tempted to turn into mist just so he could quickly get to this person, but as soon as he rounded the corner, he saw said person.

"You…" He said loudly. The woman looked back and her eyes widened. The other two people looked back and were also surprised. Viego walked up to the three people. He glared at the woman in the middle. "You have something that I want."

"I'm not sure what you are imply-"

"Do not play dumb with me. You have my Isolde…"

Viego growled, and the woman paled. She quickly whispered something into the other girl's ear. She nodded, and motioned for the boy to go with her. As soon as they were gone, the woman straightened up, and gave a polite smile.

"I fear we may have had a bad start." She held out a hand. "My name is Cinder."

Viego just glared harder.

The woman named Cinder pulled her hand back. "I see…"

"Do not waste my time with familiarities." Viego growled. "I know you have my Isolde. Give her to me, and you shall be spared."

Cinder tilted her head. "As I said, I do not know what you are referring to."

"You have multiple souls."

/ = /

Cinder felt afraid. Of course, she didn't show it, but she definitely felt it. The man was practically radiating power. He looked un-dead. The triangle in the middle of his chest was slightly oozing out mist. His glowing eyes practically stared right through her, as if he was focusing on something else.

Otherwise, he was pretty handsome.

"I...I have two souls?"

"You...are not aware? Then I shall just take her from you." The man raised his hand, but Cinder moved back.

"I don't know what you are talking about, and I am sure not giving you anything." She glared at the man. Unfortunately for her, the man glared back, baring his teeth.

"I wouldn't deny him anything, girly." A new voice said. Cinder turned around to see someone that her mistress had been watching.

"And you are?" Cinder asked, pretending not to know.

"Raven Branwen. Don't forget it." Raven walked up to the man. "Good evening, my King." She said slyly.

Cinder put on a confused face. "Her...King?"

Raven went to lean on him, but the man pushed her off Immediately. She didn't seem to mind though. "What are you doing out this late? Shouldn't my Majesty be resting?"

"I do not need to explain myself to you, churl." He snarled.

"Oh come now...no need to be so me-"

"Leave. Now. Or I will tear the remainder of your soul, right out of your body."

At that mention, Raven immediately started walking away. The man then looked back to Cinder, his eyes still staring right through her.

"She is right. It is foolish to deny me. Give me my queen." The man held out his hand once more. Cinder felt a pull from somewhere, and her eyes widened. At that moment, she saw a small orb of orange light appear in the palm of the man's hand.

Cinder felt the pull become stronger, and then the pain started to come. She wanted to scream, but couldn't. Nothing would come out. All she could do was stare into the face of a man who's smile had gone wicked.

Then, the man frowned, and Cinder no longer felt the pull. She fell to the ground in a coughing fit.

"That...Is not Isolde." The man said. He looked at her. "You are a maiden."

At that moment, Cinder had no idea what to think. She knew that the probability of Ozpin telling this man about the maidens and about Salem would be high, but this didn't explain whose side he was on.

If he was on a side.

Then the thought struck her. This man had claimed to see that she was a maiden right after the pain she had felt. How could he know by feeling whatever that orb was?

Either way, this man was indeed powerful.

"W-what are you talking about?"

He sneered. "I see. Either you are unaware...or you are playing dumb." He started walking away. "In the end, it matters not."

Before the man could walk away, Cinder grabbed at his leg. "W-wait."

The man growled. "Let go."

"I-I would like to t-talk to you…"

"Let go, now." The man started to summon something.

"A-about my queen."

The man stilled. No movements were made. Cinder looked up to see widened eyes.

"Your...your queen?" The hand that was summoning something closed. "I-Isolde?"

At this moment, Cinder knew what she had to do. Not only would it please her mistress, but it would give them a powerful ally.

It seemed as if this "King" could be used.

/ = /

Viego was not one to stumble, but after hearing what he had heard, he practically stumbled his way back to his room.

He knew this "Salem" was the leader of the Grimm. But after learning she was the Queen? He felt closer to reaching his goal more than ever.

"I knew it...I felt it."

Now that he had a plan set in motion, he didn't need to worry about Ozpin's "plan" to find Isolde. Unfortunately, Viego had to wait for one more day, before he could see his beloved again, as this "Cinder" woman had a plan to destroy beacon.

As for how this would affect him, he did not have any idea. His thoughts still lingered about Salem and his own queen.

Then, there was the other problem

Viego still sensed a multi-souled person residing in beacon. They seemed to be underground, presumably with access only for Ozpin. The woman named Cinder said he had plans to go for the rest of the fall maiden powers, due to hers being only a fraction of it.

Seeing how that was going to be, Cinder would have to somehow break into the ground. How she was going to do that, Viego had now Idea.

As he was about to enter his room, he heard a familiar voice calling for him.

"Mr. Viego."

Viego looked to Ironwood as he walked down the hallway. "Yes?"

"I see that you are not wearing your armor. Any particular reason why?"

"I do not have to answer that question."

Ironwood sighed. "Of course. Either way, I would like to discuss what happened earlier today."

Viego raised an eyebrow. "I already apologized, and I do not intend to do it again."

"I meant the fight with my specialist."

Viego had honestly forgotten about that. "What about this fight?"

"I heard that you used an illegal technique on her."

"I did not."

"Care to explain?"

Viego glared at the man. Ironwood sighed.

"Of course. You don't have an aura."

"I do not. Now, if you are finished wasting my time, I shall see you another day."

Viego started to walk away, but Ironwood put a hand on his shoulder. Viego turned around and almost grabbed the man's throat, but decided against it.

"I do mean to say, I understand you do not have an aura, but be careful when sparing with our allies." Ironwood said. "If that blade of yours has the ability to cut through aura, then It is very dangerous."

Viego shrugged his shoulder away from the man's grip. "I am quite aware." And with that, Viego continued to walk towards his room.

As he entered, he sat on his bed, thinking about what would be his next course of action once he reunited with his Queen. There were many things he had to discuss with her about. Mainly, how they were both transported to this world.

Another thing he had to wonder about was his ability to possess people. He had done it with the Grimm. Could he still do it with people? If he could, he had a small list of people to take with the mist.

"Raven Branwen, Specialist...you two will become of something much greater."

Yes. He could see it.

"Tomorrow, Beacon will fall, and the Ruined King would rise once more."

SO! This is happening! Viego has regained the ability to take control over people, as well as Grimm! Speaking of which, I do want to mention why the control over the Grimm was fading. During the talk on the Riot Report that happened about one week ago, the lead writer (I can't remember his name) said something about Viego having the ability to control the creatures of the Void. He said that this would not be the case, as the Void creatures would consume the spirits of the black mist.

I wanted to take that concept, and place it in here when dealing with Grimm. I guess it felt kinda right story wise. As for taking control over humans, this should be easier for him, as he has done it multiple times before. However, let's just say that the might have the ability to break control like Karma did in the "Ruination" cinematic. Who knows?

Psst. It's me.

Also, expect the list of people he would control to grow larger.

Now, as for this chapter being the length that It is. You may have noticed that It is at least 1000 words shorter than my previous ones. Here is my explanation.

This chapter is the final set up for what will be happening in the next one. AKA, the fall of Beacon. If I added anymore than I needed to add, it would have felt like pointless fluff. I didn't need that. Character interactions with Viego are going to be limited, as he has no point in talking with anyone unless he requires something.

Now, Concerning Viego's "Loyalty". He does not have loyalty towards anyone other than himself, and his queen. But that does not mean that his heart can't be swayed (get it? Reference?)Now (according to Cinder), he knows that Ozpin never had a plan to get Isolde back. Not only that, but In his eyes, Salem could possible be Isolde (I.E. Viego is going insane, and can't remember what Isolde truly looks like. I got this information from his story on Universe). This changes things for Viego, as he now will participate in the "Ruination" of Beacon.

How will his relation with Salem play out? We will just have to see.
