When Viego was told to wait for a signal, he had not expected a child to be ripped apart by her own blades. Much less for her to be what people called a "robot". The arena grew silent. So silent, that he could hear the clatter of the blades hit the floor.
How long had it been silent for? A few seconds? Minutes? It felt like ages, before the arena was filled with murmurs of surprise and anguish from startled and worried people. All of the sudden, a black chess piece appeared on the "T.V." screen with a red background.
"Signal number two." Viego thought to himself. He stood up from the seat in a motion making people think he was startled, and quickly headed towards the exit of the arena. The first words he heard made him smirk.
"This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children, to men who claim to be our guardians. But are in reality, nothing more than men."
Viego could hear the word "Men" seethe out of Cinder Fall's mouth. He heard her continue her plotting. She talked about the event that happened earlier involving her subordinates "missing leg". Chastising Ozpin about what he had been teaching his students.
Next thing he knew, Viego heard the screen click off, and sirens began in the background.
"Alert. Incoming Grimm attack. Threat level, nine. Please seek shelter, in a calm and orderly manner."
Viego could hear it. Nobody was calm, and nobody was orderly. He felt panic in the souls that surrounded him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please, there is no need for panic." Viego heard the familiar voice of Ironwood say. Then a large screech abrupted from the area. Then the small rumbling and shaking from the ground.
A few minutes later when he was in a secluded area outside of the arena, Viego felt a buzz come from the Scroll. He took it from his pocket area, and saw the name Ozpin. He remembered he had to push a button to answer the call.
"Mr. Viego! Thank the gods you called. Listen, we have a-"
"I am quite aware of the situation at hand."
"Then you know how much danger the kingdom is! I need you to come and protect Beacon now."
Viego growled. "I do not answer to you."
"R-really?! You're being petty now?! People are going to die if you do-"
"Did you ever have a plan to retrieve my Isolde?"
The phone went silent on the other end. "Mr. Viego please."
"Answer...my question."
"No."
Those two simple letters made Viego want to rip open the ground beneath him.
"You lied to me…"
"I never wanted t-"
"YOU LIED TO ME!"
The line went silent once again.
"And now...you will face the consequences...of lying to your King."
Viego threw the phone to the ground, and stabbed it with his blade, which went into the ground. With a small grunt, he dragged the ZewiHander through the ground, tearing it apart to reveal a small cavern of the black mist. From said cavern, the wraiths of the ruined souls climbed up, hell bent on bringing the destruction to the people around him.
Viego then let his armor fall, showing his face to the world around him. The triangle on his chest practically pulsated, as the black mist quickly started to erupt from him. As the mist began to surround the area he was in, more of the wraiths appeared.
"Go! Fight for your king! Leave no survivors! Take control of the powerful!" Viego looked forward. He could see the people fleeing into bullheads. "Let the Ruination begin once more."
As in effect, the wraiths charged. Viego slowly walked with them, as he was heading towards another area. Cinder said that he would meet up with someone named Adam Taurus. The leader of the White Fang Vale block.
Viego had done his research on the White Fang. Once a peaceful organization, and now a terrorist group. He continued to walk when he felt a familiar soul. One that made him smirk. He turned into mist and quickly flew to the area.
Even in his mist form, he could see Grimm attacking citizens around him. Screams and roars filled the area as he traveled faster and faster towards his target.
He quickly transitioned back to his normal form, as he saw a woman with black hair, black and red attire, and a red sword killing off Grimm with ease.
"Raven Branwen." Viego said. The woman looked at him, and smirked.
"Why hello, my king. What do you need of me?" She said slyly, stabbing a wolf Grimm from behind.
Viego smirked. Raven looked a bit frightened. "I need your soul."
Raven tilted her head, her eyes slightly widened and filled with worry. "I believe you already took one of them. Why do you need another?"
Viego looked down and began to laugh. It was a manacle, and frightening laugh. He looked at her once more. "I need your other one, in service to me."
In that moment, Viego charged as mist. Raven's eyes widened and she back-pedaled as Viego sliced with his sword. It grazed her a little bit. She landed on the ground away from him.
"ARE YOU INSANE!?" She cried out. Viego answered with another charge, and sword slice. Once again grazing her. The woman continued to back-pedal and get cut with every sword slice or stab. If Viego was faster, he would have had her by now.
Viego snarled as the woman turned into a bird. He couldn't let her escape. He ran forward and jumped, turning into mist as he did. Unfortunately, he could not fly, so he thought of the next best thing. Viego turned back to his normal form, and threw his blade like a javelin. With enough force behind it, the blade flew through the air and hit the wing of the bird. cutting at least half of it off. The bird squawked, and fell towards the ground along with Viego's blade. At the same time, the bird turned back into a woman, one with a missing arm.
As Viego picked up his blade, he stumbled, as a small earthquake happened. He then heard a loud roar, followed by the flapping of large wings. He looked up, and saw something that looked to be a Dragon. He hadn't seen one of those since his childhood in one of those picture books his father got him.
How he remembered that, he had no idea.
He turned around to see Raven Branwen struggling to keep conscious. He slowly walked towards her, his blade falling behind him as he held it in a more comfortable position. He stopped as he looked down at the woman. Her breathing was ragged, and in pain. As Viego looked down on her, she looked up at him.
"I believe you misunderstood me. I "want" your soul."
"W-what is there to misunderstand?"
Viego grinned. "I want service."

Cinder smirked at the sight before her. She had gained a little more of the Maiden's power, went through with a perfect plan, and had killed Ozpin. But, why did she still feel something missing? Sure, she only had half of the Maiden's power, but it felt weak. Weaker than it should have been.
She didn't have time to think. She needed to gain the rest of the maidens power before. She NEEDED to have what was hers.
As she entered Ozpin's office, she walked towards the window, smirking at the Wyvern that was outside. It roared.
"Shh…" Cinder cooed. "This is your home now."
The Wyvern did a softer screech as it looked at her. Cinder's face turned into a frown, and she walked backwards from the window. She held up a hand, letting fire flow from it. The fire then extinguished, and Cinder looked back to the screeching elevator.
The door opened, and a blade flew at her face. Cinder moved her head to the side, dodging the blade. A figure then rushed at her. Cinder blocked the attack with her fore-arms, and the figure flipped back.
It was Pyrrha Nikos.
Cinder just smirked once more. It surely was her lucky day. She fired a blast of fire at the girl, which was dodged. She did this two more times before Pyrrha went on the offensive. The girl charged forward, slicing at Cinder with her blade. Cinder dodged a few of the slices, but her aura took a few hits from some.
Cinder separated the two with a blast that sent the girl back. She was then on the offensive, leaving the girl to dodge and block. The tower roof had started to fall. The girl then used her semblance to throw items that were around the area at Cinder. This led Cinder to have to go on the defensive, as metal bars and cogs attacked her.
During small openings, Cinder fired beams of fire at the girl. The third one managed to hit, and the girl was knocked back. The metal beams dropped, one falling on Cinder, knocking her to the ground. She quickly picked herself up and blocked an attack from the girl.
Cinder blew the girl back with another shockwave. She gave her a gold glare, noticing that both of them were panting hard. Cinder had no idea why this was the case. She was stronger than Nikos.
Was...was she getting pushed back?
"Why…" The girl muttered. "Why are you doing this?"
Cinder scoffed. "Why does it matter?"
"Why does it matter? WHY DOES IT MATTER?!" The girl charged again, striking with her blade. Cinder had to create a blade of her own to block it.
"You are hurting innocent people...AND FOR WHAT?! POWER?!"
"YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!" Cinder shouted, pushing her back and firing a beam of fire. The girl flung her shield at Cinder. As Cinder knocked it back, it kept going back towards her. The girl took this time to throw the big gears at Cinder. At this point, Cinder was getting infuriated. Her aura was starting to diminish, she was getting pushed back, and worst of all, she was not getting what was promised to her.
"ENOUGH!" Cinder shouted. Another shockwave occurred. She heard the Wyvern screech in the background, as the tower roof had finally collapsed. The girl glared at Cinder. Cinder glared at the girl. Suddenly, the girl spoke.
"Do you believe in destiny?"
"Yes." Cinder said almost too quickly.
The girl closed her eyes, and took a deep breath in. When they opened, flames were coming from the sides. This surprised Cinder, and angered her as well. The girl, out of sheer anger, had awakened the power within her.
She charged at Cinder with a combination of slices and stabs. Cinder had to match the girl's attacks with her own sword. The two blades clashed every second, leaving marks of fire through the air. As the swords collided, Cinder saw the pure, unadulterated rage that was in the girl's eyes. It wasn't just to protect.
It was to kill.
Cinder's blade suddenly broke, and the girl's sword swung down. Cinder gasped as her aura was damaged. She was then kicked back, and hit a wall. The clock wheels were then thrown at her. Cinder couldn't block those, and took more damage to her aura. She released yet another shockwave to push back the cogs, only for her to see the burning eyes of a fighter close to her face.
Then, Cinder felt pain. She looked down and saw the girl's sword had entered the lower part of her body.
"That...was for Penny."
The blade went out and quickly cut off Cinder's left arm. Cinder screamed.
"That...was for Ozpin…"
The blade retracted once more and Cinder was kicked to the ground. She coughed up blood and looked up. The same fiery, hate filled eyes stared down at her.
"And this…" The girl lifted her blade up to stab the ground. "Is for all the innocent lives you have killed."
The blade went down. Cinder screamed again. The blade had gone into her left eye. Luckily for her, It didn't go too deep.
This shouldn't have happened. She should have been stronger. Why wasn't she stronger? Where was the power that she so rightfully had deserved? Cinder felt her eyelids weaken due to blood loss. She knew it. She was going to die here.
"H-How?" Cinder muttered out. The girl didn't hear her, as she fell to her knees. Someone else had appeared. Someone with a red cape. Cinder saw the two quickly embrace each other in a hug.
Then, Cinder saw what could be her saving grace, as black and bluish-green mist appeared from the elevator shaft. Cinder smiled, and let out a few words that were heard from the two people.
"M-my King."

Viego looked at the scene before him. A broken and battered Cinder Fall on the ground. Two girls standing away from her. From what he remembered, they were named Pyrrha Nikos, and Ruby Rose. He saw the girls eyes light up.
"Mr. Huntsman!" The Ruby girl cried out.
Viego paid no attention to her, and walked up to the body of Cinder Fall. He knelt down, and looked at the body. She seemed to still be alive, as he felt the souls residing in her. The key word being "souls".
She also was missing one of her eyes, as well as an arm.
"That can be fixed."
Viego hummed as he "inspected" the souls. She had either gained the maiden powers once more, or she had Isolde. Viego reached out, and pulled on the new soul. At the instant, he recognized it as the Maiden power. The same power he had taken before.
Instead of stopping, he took what was left of it. This caused the wind to stir around him. He smiled at the glowing orb in his palm. He stood up and looked at the girls. Only the girl named Pyrrha had a surprised face.
"Mr. Huntsman? What is that in your hand?" The Ruby girl asked.
Viego paid no attention to her, and walked over to his servant. Before him stood Raven Branwen, or at least, a ruined version of her.
Her red and black attire was converted to a bluish-green and black due to the aura of the mist. Her missing arm had been replaced with rocks that formed an arm that was held together by the mist itself. Her now bluish-green eyes were leaking black liquid, and she had a smaller crown of mist on top of her head. Signifying her "loyalty" to Viego.
Viego pushed the orb of power into Raven, causing her to have a quick spasm, before settling down. He then let the power that he stole yesterday turn into an orb. He let that orb fly into Raven as well, causing another quick spasm.
He looked towards the girls once more.
"Pyrrha Nikos, you have something I want. Give it to me." Viego said. He reached out with his arm.
"I-I'm sorry?"
"You have my queen. That, or you have the remainder of the Maiden powers. It matters not, give it to me, and you shall be spared."
To make his threat more prominent, Viego summoned his sword beside him. The girls stepped back, with the Nikos girl going into a defensive position. Viego scoffed.
"Fine then. Die."
Viego charged in his mist form and quickly reverted back, stabbing the Nikos girl in the stomach. She let out a gasp, and blood started to flow from her mouth. The Rose girl also let out a gasp, but was then knocked off the tower by Ruined Raven Branwen.
"If she is lucky, she will survive. As for you…" Viego started to pull on the second soul inside the girl. She looked like she was screaming. "Hm...this seems to be the maiden power's...Very well, I shall take it."
Since it was only half, the process did not take long, and the girl quickly died. Her body turning into glowing yellow petals. Viego smirked and closed his palm. The maiden powers flowed through his arm and around his blade, quickly disappearing into it.
The dragon creature roared in the background as Viego walked over to Cinder's body and picked it up, throwing her over his shoulder.
At the same time, the Rose girl had somehow gotten back on top of the building. Viego looked back at her, she was tearing up. She looked tired. All of a sudden the girl screamed.
"PYRRHA!"
Viego turned back around as a blinding light took over the world. The Ruined Branwen did the same. The dragon screeched in the background.
Then, the light vanished. Viego turned around again to see the Rose girl unconscious on the ground and the dragon had turned into stone.
That had been unexpected.
Viego turned back forward, jumping down the elevator shaft. At at least 23 feet left, he turned into mist to make the fall easier.
While he had left Cinder quite literally "falling", he caught her before she hit the ground. A few seconds later, the Ruined Branwen followed.
As for the location that Viego would be meeting Cinder Fall's subordinates, it was only a mile away from his current location. He had a good understanding of where everything was due to Cinder letting him study a map last night. Or more realistically, all night.
He was dead, he didn't need sleep.
As he and his servant walked towards the meeting point, Viego conjured his mist back towards him. It took at least 12 minutes before the large cloud of mist returned to him. As the wraiths disappeared into the mist, Viego could see that the number had decreased.
"It seems as if the huntsman had their fair share in fighting my wraiths."
While that seemed to be the case, Viego could feel some newer souls that resided within said wraiths, so they had indeed killed people. He took in the mist, absorbing at least 75%, leaving 25% left over to cause more problems in Vale.
He could always recreate mist if needed.
A while later, Viego and his subject arrived at the extraction point. There, a worried Emerald Sustrai and a half asleep Mercury Black stood waiting at the ship. The Emerald girl saw Viego, then saw Cinder.
"Cinder!" The girl rushed towards them. "Is she alright?! What happened?! Did you do this?!"
All the questions made Viego more annoyed. "QUIET!" He shouted. The girl silenced herself, and the boy fell over.
"She shall need medical attention, which I believe is where your Queen is. Bring us there, and we shall be able to heal her."
Emerald Sustrai nodded, and quickly fled into the small ship. As Viego and his subject walked in, he saw Mercury Black staring at the Ruined Branwen. Viego smirked.
"The Ruination has only just begun. Fate cannot stop me."
"Nothing can…"
/ = /
"Over 1,000 casualties have been confirmed, and there are more to come. While we have no real Idea how this breach was come to pass, reports claim that a black and bluish-green mist were connected to the attack on Ha-"
The T.V. clicked off. Qrow Branwen leaned back into the couch he was sitting on. He sighed and took a sip from his flask. It had been a few days since the Fall Of Beacon. Yang was still in bed moping. Ruby hadn't woken up yet. And that damn traitor hadn't been seen since.
Qrow had a feeling that The Ruined King -or should he say Viego- would be their downfall. Ironwood had specifically ranted about how much he hated the man.
And about how right he was not to trust him.
Not only that, but his own sister had gone missing again. While that wouldn't be too much of a problem, it had been a problem when he found her disembodied arm lying in the middle of the street.
He heard footsteps, and saw Taiyang -his friend and teammate- walk into the living room.
Taiyang sighed. "Ruby still hasn't woken up yet, and Yang locked her door." He looked to the side. "What...was that mist?"
Ah, there it was. Qrow knew the question was coming, he just didn't know when. After all, Tai had ended up coming to Vale to help with the evacuation.
"It belongs to the man named Viego, The Ruined King." Qrow said.
At this, Tai's eyes widened. "A King? Like...the king of Grimm?"
"No, the mist is his army. Those...zombie things are what he controls. Although…"
"Spill it."
Qrow sighed. "Oz told me that he can control Grimm." He took out his flask again, taking another drink.
"What was he like?"
"White hair, pale grey skin. Triangle hole in his chest. A mix of armor and clothes. Glowing bluish-green eyes, same thing with the crown on top of his head." Qrow tapped his chin. "Oh yeah, and a sword that can cut through aura."
Taiyang didn't say a word.
"Not to mention he can turn into the mist, and sense people's souls. THAT'S a whole different plate of worms I don't wanna get into."
Taiyang sighed. "Anything else that we know about him?"
"Not currently."
Tai flopped into the chair beside Qrow. Qrow offered his flask, and Tai gladly expected, only for him to spit out what he had drunk.
"The hell is this?"
"Strongest booze you could find in Vacuo." Qrow grinned. "Needed it to deal with this horseshit that we're currently going through."
The both of them had a small fit of laughter before going into silence.
"What are we going to do…"
Qrow grunted. "I wish I knew. More so, I wish Sum was here. She'd know what to do."
"Yeah…"
The two went silent once more. Tai stood up from the seat. "I'm gonna check on Ruby again...probably stay there for the night." He said, walking up the stairs.
"Night, Tai." Qrow said. He didn't get a response.
In the end, Qrow turned the T.V. back on, just to see if anything else came up.
"-say that General Ironwood has donated at least 10,000,000 Lien to help rebuild Beacon. The same can be said about Haven Academy, as they are still picking themselves up after their attack. This Is Lisa Lavender, of Vale News."
"So...ol' Ironwood is doing something right for once. Ha...funny."
Qrow continued to sit on the chair for what felt like an hour. Not moving unless he got hungry. Thankfully, nothing bad happened via his semblance.
Not until there was a knock on the door.
Qrow sighed. "I'm coming…" He said, standing up from the couch. He stalked over to the door, opening it slowly. He was surprised to see a head of white hair standing in front of him.
"Well well, if it isn't Ice Queen. Here to encase me in your shitty feelings?"
Winter stayed silent.
Qrow sighed again. "Sorry...I know that wasn't right. I just ge-"
"Don't bother, Qrow." Winter interrupted.
"Right…"
Silence once again.
"Well uh...come on in." Qrow said, moving out of the way to let her inside. Winter did come inside, and immediately sat on the couch. "Would you like anything to dri-"
"Booze." Winter simply replied.
Qrow blinked. "Oh...uh...what ki-"
"Strongest you have."
"Right…" Qrow took out his flask and got a small whisky glass from the cabinet. After he poured it, he gave it to Winter, who downed it all in a matter of seconds.
"Never seen you like this before…" Qrow muttered.
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
Winter glared at him, begging him to say another thing. Qrow started to sweat at the current situation.
"CRASH!"
Qrow turned around to see 4 broken glasses on the floor.
"God...dammit." He sighed. He got the broom and dustpan, quickly sweeping up the shards of glass. He put them in the trash can, and set the cleaning objects down.
Winter then sighed, gaining his attention. "I'm sorry, Qrow. I know this isn't your fault. I'm just…"
"Tired, frustrated...want to kill a relative?"
"You could say that."
The two went silent again."
"How is Ms. Rose?" Winter asked.
"Still not up. She seems to be fine, thank oum...I assume your sister wanted you to find out?"
Winter nodded.
"Heh...you got a good sis, Ice queen...I'm guessing that's not the only reason you came here...right?"
"You are correct."
"What do you need?"
Winter smiled. "I need help tracking down that bastard King."
/ = /
The Grimm lands were pretty much exactly what Viego expected. Red skies, red ground, pools of black tar everywhere in sight, Grimm walking the ground.
It seemed almost stereotypical, if he was being honest.
Beside Viego, the still unconscious body of Cinder laid on the seats. On his other side, now Ruined Branwen sat calmly. Mercury Black sat on the other side of the ship. He seemed weary of both the Ruined person, as well as the king.
"We're here." Emerald Sustrai said from the front.
The ship landed on the ground. Viego picked up Cinder Fall's body, and threw her over his shoulder. He took a step outside, the Ruined Branwen following him. What he saw made him want to laugh.
A large castle stood in front of him. Steps let up to a large door. At the bottom of said steps, was a man with a scorpion tail.
"Ah! My goddess said you would be coming to see us!" The Scorpion tailed man laughed. "You have seemed to catch her eye...most don't do that."
Viego paid no attention to the crazy man. Instead, he gave the body of Cinder to his subject, and proceeded up the stairs.
"This is where she is...I can feel it!"
He walked faster, opening the door to the castle. He then sensed a powerful soul, one that has been alive for a very long time.
"I can feel her...calling out to me!"
Viego walked even faster, almost going into a sprint. He climbed up another flight of stairs, and ended up on a balcony. He then saw her, standing near the edge.
"I-Isolde!" He cried out.
The woman turned around. Viego saw her face. It wasn't as he remembered, but he didn't remember what she truly looked like either way.
"My darling." The woman said.
They both smiled. One full of happiness, the other, filled with greed.
The Ruination has begun once more. Viego now has a loyal subject, as one and a half maiden souls residing within his sword, and has finally reunited with his "Isolde"
So, onto Raven Branwen. She has been ruined but the Harrowing/Black Mist. First thing I want to mention, is involving the Maiden Powers. While Viego has half of the fall Maidens power, He gave at least the other half towards Raven to increase her power once more. Not only that, but she has a cool Black Mist hand/arm! Thought of that Idea myself! (I am very proud of it). Now, concerning Viego's control over her. Is it going to be temporary? Maybe. Viego is a very strong character both In League lore, and Physically. Now, I had a review involving Viego and the Sea God of Bilgewater saying how Viego probably didn't defeat her alone.
He most likely did, seeing as so far, there have been no mentions of Hecarim re-joining Viego in Runeterra. Not only that, but Viego's writer (I can't remember his name), stated in a Riot Report that Viego is constantly getting stronger, and most likely is able to take down Gods. Maybe not with ease, but he can do it. I do want to state that I do NOT want Viego to be over powered. Having a Villain be too powerful could make everything about said Villain be terrible. Not to mention the Heroes wont be able to do anything against him.
But who said they would be able to?
Right now, He is not overpowered. Not to a total extent either way. He might be able to feel pain, but only for a second. What's interaction?
"Arise, death and greet the king who conquered you back!"
This man has died, he is a wraith himself. Either way, if anyone could give me some advice reducing his "OP" factor in the reviews, that would be greatly appreciated.
Now, Since I'm actually getting reviews on this story (Sadge moment for 8 Stars), I'll show you my responses towards them!
Everpeach- Who said anything about slaughter hue hue hue...
YeTianshi- Cinder had no Idea. It wasn't as clear, because she fell to the ground after Viego stopped taking the soul. She never saw the orb. Btw, thank you for the kind words and THANK YOU, for pointing out that plot hole In Chapter 1. As for what you said in Chapter 2, maybe some words were shared out of earshot...
4FOUR4FOUR4FOUR4FOUR4MUDA4JHIN4HUH? (Sorry...)- We will just have to see. I feel as if we wont get Champ Isolde for a bit of time. My guess is mid summer, but hey, who knows.
Thank you all for reading!
