Happy New Year to you all! And a new year full of writing and collecting ideas. Other than that, I hope you enjoy the new chapter.
Greetings Petit Erik

Jenny lay on her bed crying into the night. Even for dinner she did not come down. Even the opera spirits were worried about her. Some wanted to come up to check on her but her brothers were able to stop them and told them to leave her alone for now. They knew their sister well enough to know that she needed to come down first. They understood very well that the letter must have upset her, coming as it did so unexpectedly. But the fact that she wouldn't show up again for the whole evening was strange. Jenny meanwhile thought about her letter. She had not had to think about her operation for 2 years and had fulfilled her dreams. She had successfully completed her education, had moved to her dream city, had the best friends, who were actually a family, in the world and had a job that she enjoyed. That she was now thrown back in there like that, she was not prepared for. But she had to go there. It had been 3 years since her surgery and after three 3 years she was supposed to go back for a checkup. So now she had to apply for a vacation for this period and book her flight. But that still had some time.
First, after getting up from her bed in the morning and taking a shower, she went to the kitchen and made herself a coffee. A short time later, at least half of all the phantoms rushed into the kitchen because they had heard her, and asked her how she was doing now. Jenny smiled tiredly at them and answered their questions. One of them made coffee for everyone and the cups were distributed. Then they all plopped down in a pile again and listened to Jenny. She told her story and the phantoms listened with interest and now understood Jenny's view of themselves. They were amazed at how Jenny had experienced everything.
"It's surprising how ambitious you were about everything again," Derik said.
Jenny replied: "Well, I just figured I didn't want to let it get me down. So I wanted to continue as normal as before."
Then, when everything was settled and breakfast was eaten, the day continued normally. Jenny had the day off, so she was able to do a little shopping. When she was in the store, she saw sparklers, of which she took a lot. When she got back home, the opera ghosts looked at the candles, puzzled.
"What's this?" scrawled Lerik on his tablet.
"Oh those are sparklers. When it's midnight, we each take one and light it," Jenny explained.
Fortunately, the house had a balcony where 1st everyone could fit on it and 2nd it faced the city.
Lerik scribbled: "Oh, for the fireworks, right?"
Jenny nodded.
"But I would suggest that we go back to sleep beforehand so we can last that day" Jere explained.
This was affirmed and everyone retired to their rooms once again until 22:00. Then, when it was time to get up again, everyone came down or up dressed a little more finely. Even the phantoms had their hair, or in the case of some strands of hair, neatly coiffed so that it did not stick out on all sides. Then they went into the living room and talked happily. Jenny had brought out the champagne, which of course contributed to the happy mood. When it soon became 23:45, all put on their coats and Jenny got the sparklers and lighters. 0:00 it finally went off. The sparklers were lit and everyone toasted with champagne. And each phantom got a hug from Jenny, which triggered more emotions in one and less in the other. And then the fireworks started. From all over Paris colorful lights could be seen rising and the 20 maestros looked like 20 little boys. Everyone wished each other a happy new year and many more happy hours with Jenny. Jenny, meanwhile, thought they looked pretty cute like that with their bright eyes. She grinned to herself and turned around on the balcony, which was on the second floor with the 10 boys.
Suddenly she picked up a movement from the opposite side of the street and she looked there. In their house on the other side, the Christines had also gathered on their balcony, which was on the same floor as the Merik's, and were also toasting. In addition, the children were also there. Jenny grinned and whistled between her teeth so that the ladies could hear. At the loud and sharp sound, the ladies turned and looked in the direction from which the whistle came. Soon they saw Jenny standing outside with the boys and their brothers saw them too.
Jenny waved and yelled, "HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
Sierra yelled back: "THAT'S WHAT WE WISH YOU AND FROM EACH OF US A KISS TO YOUR EVERY OPERA GHOST!"
"I'LL TELL IT," Jenny yelled back.
The boys were red-faced at Sierra's last sentence. "I see the message got through," Jenny said, grinning. The men blushed even more in response and Jenny and her brothers had to laugh. Then they returned their gaze to the spectacle in front of them, while Jenny took another quick look over and sent a grinning thumbs up to Sierra, who returned it with a grin as well.
A short time later Jenny received a message. It read: "Hey, who are those two other guys with you. I don't know them yet" Sierra, that gossip, Jenny thought. But smiling she wrote back: "These are my twin brothers, Jeremias and Dominik. Or abbreviated, Jere and Dome." "Didn't know you had brothers. Wow," it came back. "Actually, we're triplets but fortunately fraternal. And you don't have to know everything either, gossip," Jenny wrote back with a smile. Sierra only sent her a winking emoji in response to her last message, which Jenny replied to. Then she took another sip of champagne and handed out sparklers again, because the guys were totally crazy about them. She lit some more and the boys were standing proudly on the balcony again, watching the fireworks over Paris. Jenny smiled and had to think about the fact that in the time that the men have been living with her, no one has ever felt sorry for themselves or felt left out in any way. Well, maybe once in a while they had a few little moments in their rooms but otherwise they were always cheerful. And if one should have faked something, she would have recognized it exactly. She had seen that look of self-pity and hatred before and she hoped it would only stay with one time.
Suddenly Gerry's stomach growled loudly. Jenny, who was standing next to him, looked at him puzzled. But he only returned her gaze, shrugged apologetically, and then grinned.
"May I take that to mean that you're suffering from a little hunger?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"A little one?" he asked in mock surprise, "I'm almost starving."
And suddenly Jenny heard a low growl of her stomach from the others as well.
"Okay," she said, "time to eat."
A small cry of joy came from the phantoms and their brothers cheered too. So they all went into the kitchen and enjoyed their New Year's dinner. From all sides came a thick praise of Jenny's cooking. She thanked everyone kindly and enjoyed her food again. Afterwards a few games were played and there was also music, personally played by the phantoms. Jenny clawed each one once and danced with them and was surprised how well her phantoms could dance. Then she was out of breath and plopped down on the sofa.
"Hah, dancing makes you tired," she said to Mauer, who was lounging in the chair next to her.
"I think so too, that's why I don't even do it," he replied with a grin. Jenny returned the grin.
Suddenly Jere plopped down next to her: "Man, Erik plays well. Never heard anyone play the organ so well," he said with wide eyes.
"Well," Jenny replied, "he's the undisputed original, what do you expect?"
He shrugged his shoulders and continued to listen to the music. And Jenny closed her eyes, too, and let herself drift with the music. Erik played a slow and contemplative piece that was very pleasant to listen to, despite the fact that it came from the organ. When Erik finished playing, everyone applauded and Erik made a mocking bow.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," he said and sat down in an armchair to rest a bit.
"It's nice to play without isolation for a change," he said.
"I can imagine," Jenny said in response, "but with the insulation you can play as loud as you want."
"Which is certainly good," Erik replied. Jenny just smiled at him in response, which he returned.
Then, all of a sudden, a rather loud yawn sounded. Dome was leaning against the sofa with his glass, looking like he was about to keel over from fatigue. Jere stood up with a grin, gestured for everyone to be quiet, and walked over to his brother.
Then he stood behind him and shouted in his ear: "BOO!" Dome was so startled that he fell onto the sofa, while the others burst into peals of laughter. And Jere laughed so hard that he literally doubled over on the floor.
"Man Jere, did you have to do that?" asked Dome, playfully indignant.
"Yes it had to," the latter replied, still laughing. Dome then grinned nastily, set his glass down on the table, and with a yelp threw himself on top of his brother who was still rolling on the floor.
A short time later, the two were throwing each other back and forth on the floor in a wild fight where one was desperate to defeat the other.
"I'm older, so I have to win," Jere said, panting.
"Says who?" replied Dominik, and the fight started all over again. After half an hour, they were completely exhausted and slumped lazily into their chairs. Jenny immediately gave them something to drink, which they gratefully accepted. Then, it was meanwhile 4:00, they talked about going to bed.
"If there's anyone else who could help me clean up, I'd appreciate it," Jenny said.
"And the two of us are going to take showers until tomorrow morning. Or better yet, until this morning," the boys replied and were gone downstairs as well.
Jenny, meanwhile, went into the kitchen with a couple of the boys while the others cleaned up the living room and took the rest of the dishes into the kitchen. Everything was rinsed and dried and also put away right away so they wouldn't have too much to do the next morning. When everything was ready, Jenny said goodbye to the opera ghosts and went to her room herself.
When she had finished getting ready, she lay down and said to herself: "Happy 2022."
Jenny hadn't quite fallen asleep when she heard bangers again from outside.
"Man, aren't they done yet?" she wondered.
She got up, went to the window and opened it. Sure enough, it was still dark and she could still see some fireworks in some corners of Paris. There were always those who never got enough, she decided. She closed her window and went up to the beautiful rooftop terrace where Derik had grown a beautiful flower garden with various plants. "He really has a knack for it," she said quietly to herself. As she had found out for herself, Derik was clearly the most gentle of the operatic ghosts. It took some time before he would really lose his temper, unlike Panaro. The latter usually got upset at the smallest things. It must be said that the things didn't even have any reason. It just had to be that something didn't fit the way he liked it, and his mood went down a notch. Jenny returned from her reverie and continued to look at the garden on the roof. It was obvious how much love Derik had put into these plants. And because the garden was off the street, it was a little quieter here too. So Jenny took in all these beautiful plants and colors. Luckily, she had briefly taken her smartphone with her. She took a few pictures and went back again. Quietly she closed the door behind her, so as not to wake the others. Then she quietly went back up to the second floor to her room. She plugged in her phone, lay down in her bed, remembered all the beautiful colors, and then fell asleep peacefully.
