Okay, someone asked me to put the Light Fury in the story. I had my doubts and theories. But if I put the Light Fury on this story, there's gonna be some changes. I hope you guys understand.
P.S. this story is kind of short.
Chapter 42: Night and Light
Mira and her friends were supposed to relocate a Scauldron away from Berk's waters, so it won't cause trouble for the fishermen. However, there operation was cut short when Fishlegs started sneezing nonstop and the Scauldron got away. They decided to search for any signs of it but because of Fishlegs sneezing, they decided to take him to Gothi. Turns out, he was allergic to something. I mean something, I mean Meatlug. Which was strange since Fishlegs has been with her for a long time. Ruff and Tuff said that it must be a simple case of adult-onset allergies. Meaning, his allergies develop in his elder years when his immune system mistakenly identifies a dangerous substance. Their hypothesis theory was proven true when they take Fishlegs to Gothi, who was going to hypnotize him to stop his sneezing. But because of Snotlout's ranting that Fishlegs should toughen up, Fishlegs became a brave and strong man known as Thor Bonecrusher. It was first cool to have him being all tough, but it soon turns to the worst when 'Thor Bonecrusher' was getting to brave and arrogant and it was upsetting Meatlug because Fishlegs or 'Thor Bonecrusher' was ignoring her. Heck, he was acting like another Snotlout!
They took him back to Gothi in hopes she can reverse this because he planned to hunt down the Scauldron and end it. They didn't want him to do it or else something bad will happen. But since 'Thor Bonecrusher' broke her staff, she can't reverse except the part when she forced him to drink something that made him puke for a short while as payback for breaking her staff. And It wasn't a potion, it was spiced yak bladder. But there was a way to snap Fishlegs back to normal without her staff. They have to make him endure fear, only a true feeling of terror will shock Fishlegs back to normal. However, 'Thor Bonecrusher' isn't afraid of anything.
They acted quickly as 'Thor Bonecrusher' and Snotlout venture off with Stoick's axe to face of the Scauldron, during a thunder storm! It was proven difficult in saving them, but when Meatlug came to confront toe Scauldron and to save Fishlegs, this snaps him out to regular safe and stopped on what he was doing. Luckily for them, the riders came and saved them while capturing the Scauldron. When they returned home, they realize that Fishlegs didn't sneeze once the whole ride home and Fishlegs's legs doesn't itch anymore. They discovered that without Meatlug's saddle, Fishlegs wasn't sneezing. So, he was never allergic to her, Fishlegs was allergic to the saddle. But why he was suddenly allergic to it? That's when Gobber revealed the truth, he was using a different kind of wax on the saddles aka his ear wax. Everyone was relief and yet disgusted by this, knowing that Fishlegs isn't allergic to Meatlug, and soon decided to take a long bath to wash off Gobber's ear wax.
Bu not everyone was happy. Snotlout was sad that Thor Bonecrusher is gone, but he will never forget. And lucky for the others, Fishlegs didn't know what that was about and decided to move on. And he was also lucky that Mira was ale to return the axe, thanks to her aunts who found it and gave it to her.
Though, they had another problem.
After the whole thing started when Gustav decided to join the dragon riders with Fanghook. The truth is, he wanted to be a dragon rider because he has 'rivals' those are Joe and Jon, the J Twins. They've been popular on Berk since their arrival. When they were young, all the kids think they were cool and they are, they're sister is a great person, they have their own Night Furies as their dragons, and they get to spend time with the dragon riders. Soon, the J Twins became official Dragon Riders when they turned fourteen, making them more popular. Though, the J Twins weren't interest in being popular, they're just nice boys.
However, the other dragon riders didn't want Gustav to be in the team. They tried to make reason, but he was stubborn, thanks to Snotlout's 'special' training when he was a kid. And it was a bad thing because Gustav wouldn't leave. It was annoying as Gustav cause more and more problems in the edge. He even tried to find a treasure that was mapped on the dragon eye that he took in hopes that the riders would accept him, but unfortunately leads to an island that is honeycombed with the most unstable caverns that would've killed him and Fanghook. They were lucky that the J Twins were out patrolling and saved them before they could get crush, though Joe did get injured, got a scratched on his right arm after a big rock scratched him, but he's fine. Though, Hiccup did scolds Gustav for his irresponsibleness and recklessness, Edgar would've gotten his hands on the artifact and the Dragon Eye if he ever discovered Gustav with it.
However, they were going to continue this tomorrow after they get some rest since Joe needs to recover. But as they leave, Gustav felt betrayed that they won't let him be a dragon rider. So, he thinks of a plan that will make the dragon riders beg him to come back, but he ends up getting captured by the Insanity clan and was threatened by Edgar, if he doesn't cooperate, Fanghook will die for Edgar had force the dragon to eat Blue Oleander, and he has the antidote. So, Gustav was forced to cooperate with Edgar and tried to get the Dragon Eye, however; X was following, knowing that Gustav and Fanghook would get themselves in trouble and told everything to the riders. They agree to help Gustav. Joe and Jon device a plan on luring them to the island with the unstable caverns. And Gustav is the bait. Once their plan worked, Hiccup and Toothless came in to save Gustav while finding a treasure chest hidden beneath the caverns.
After they drove off Edgar and his men, they returned on Dragon's Edge. Jon was able to cure Fanghook from the Blue Oleander with the antidote of the Scualdron's venom (thanks to Tidalwave's help and who was close by), Gustav was prepared to head back to Berk because his mother would 'kill' him after he left for three days and didn't mentioned to her. He said his romantically goodbye to Astrid and Mira, who were disturbed by this, as he flies off, but promises he'll be back soon, which the Riders and X prayed that he won't come back.
As he leaves, Hiccup then shows the Riders and X what was inside the chest when they were in the caverns. New lens for the Dragon Eye and new dragons to uncover. This made Fishlegs excited, believing that there might be more of it out there. Astrid points out they never would've grabbed hold of that if it weren't for Gustav, Hiccup jokingly plans to tell that to Gustav. However, the Riders beg Hiccup not to as Gustav might return and stay with them even longer, so they just wave goodbye for Gustav and Fanghook's departure, happy that they were gone.
Those moments were crazy for Mira and her family, but this was their life on the edge. Though, sometimes they would get surprised visit from their aunts. They would check on their niece and nephew, asking them if they needed anything. They were alright, though their aunts can be overprotective. They didn't want them to get into any trouble.
Though, one faithful encounter changed everything.
Mira and Sapphire were scouting the perimeters with their brothers. They came along because they need to check if there are any injured dragons. Jon always carry a mini healer kit. He has everything her needs to patch up any injured dragons and take them back to the edge.
Mira, her brothers, and their dragons were following a Thinderdrum to a secluded island that was far from the Edge. He informed them that one of their members was injured and the pod couldn't leave him. They landed at the beach and Jon started to patch up the wound of the Thunderdrum. They were lucky that they got there on time because any longer the wound would get infected.
"There, in a few days, the wound will be gone. Though, you have to take it easy now." Jon informs the Thunderdrum, patting the dragon's head gently. The Thunderdrum croons, thanking him for he did. The family decided to stay for a bit and collect some herbs that they need back on the Edge. Apparently, they ran out because the Twins and Snotlout with their dragons got seriously hurt after pulling a stunt that cause them to crash to each other.
As they collect in separate direction, Mira and Sapphire decided to venture through the deep forest to find any known herbs that can help them with other injured Vikings or dragons. The rare herbs are usually in deep forests or high mountain tops. But they were able to get them in no time thanks to Sapphire's speed. Though as they collect, Sapphire heard something from an undergrowth. She lets out a small growl, causing Mira to look at her dragon.
"What's wrong, girl?" Mira asked her dragon with concern.
Sapphire responded with a grunt as she stalked over to the undergrowth with Mira carefully following from behind. Sapphire pushes through the undergrowth as she made her way to a rocky side of a cliff with vines. Sapphire sniffs around a bit before she spotted something near the tall grass. Mira follows her dragon before stopping at her tracks as she lets out a small gasp. Lying on the grass was Night Fury, but this particular Night Fury wasn't black. No, it was white as a snow or a cloud. Its body was slender, making it a female like Sapphire, but different. She possesses a long, single spine running down the center of her back. She has two pairs of ear-like appendages on the top of her head and a pink-colored nose. She also has some very light blue on her underbelly/chest area and feet. She doesn't have ridges going along the middle of her head like Sapphire and Toothless. Her head is shorter and little round and her mouth is also short, and it doesn't stretch as far across its face as the mouth like Toothless or Sapphire.
Mira was awed at the sight before her. Sapphire carefully made her way to the unconscious dragon, sniffing at her if there were any injuries. Suddenly, the dragon slowly opens her eyes, reveling sky blue eyes. Blinking, the white dragon cleared her vision to see her surroundings, once she did; she yelped in surprised to see Sapphire. The female Night Fury lets out gentle croons, assuring she is safe. At first, the white dragon slowly calms down, but when she saw Mira, she instantly growls at her dangerously.
Mira steps back a bit, not wanting to provoke the dragon. But when she saw Mira's mermaid mark, she instantly stops. She heard stories about mermaid and disguise as humans. They would use those forms in order to avoid any humans or mermaid hunters. The white dragon bowed her head in respect, not wanting to offend Mira at her rude behavior. Mira simply smiles at her.
"It's okay, everyone gets nervous, right girl?" Mira asked her dragon, who nodded in agreement. Mira then looks at the white dragon. "You like a Night Fury, but with white scales…are you a cousin to them?"
The white dragon response with a gentle warble. "Light Fury? That's what your species called?" Mira asked, understanding her thanks to her mermaid abilities. The Light Fury nodded and Mira smiles at her. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Ms. Light Fury. I'm Mira and this is Sapphire, the Night Fury."
Sapphire greeted the Light Fury with a gentle croon before the two female Furies gently bumped each other's heads. It was a dragon like greeting for their kind. Mira smiles at them before looking at the Light Fury, she was checking of the white dragon if she had any injuries. Lucky, she didn't have any. The Light Fury explains that she was looking for a place to rest after a long flight. She was exploring but almost getting captured by some humans called the Insanity clan, lead by a human leader named Edgar that Insane. Mira and Sapphire were shocked to hear this. They knew that she wasn't safe out there now. If Edgar and his men knew about her, then she is not safe. They told the Light Fury that she can stay with them until Edgar and his men believes that they lost her. At first, the Light Fury didn't want to come along. But after Sapphire filled in everything about Edgar and his men, she knew that she can't go back to her home or else the Insanity clan might follow her and harm her pack.
So, the Light Fury agrees to stay with them, even though there were other humans living there. But she will manage. Just then, Joe came rushing in with his dragon, startling the Light Fury.
"Sis! We have a huge problem and-" Joe stops when he saw the Light Fury. "WOW! Who's this?"
"Joe, this is a Light Fury, female." Mira introduced with a smile.
"But what's she doing here?" Joe asked. "Is she lost?"
"You can say that, but she's going to stay with us for a while until something clears up." Mira explains.
"Did something happen?" Joe asked again.
"Let's just say a really insane human wanted her." Mira explains, referring to Edgar. The boys understood her. "So, what's the big emergency?"
"Oh, right! Me and Jon found this female dragon. And she's an unknown species!" Jon grins in excitement. Joe and Jon are almost like Fishlegs, they love to discover and learn new dragons, and they aren't afraid of facing one head on.
"Really?" Mira asked.
"Yeah, and she appears to be injured. Jon and Thunder is with her, fixing up her wound." Joe explains before he leads them to the direction. "Come on!"
Mira and her dragon followed him with Lightning and the Light Fury. They ran through the forest and quickly finding the injured dragon. Once they reach to field, full of blueberries, they saw Jon and Thunder with the injured dragon. The dragoness is a big serpent like dragon. Her head resembles to viper snake, eyes are amethyst. Sky blue scales and a white underbelly, blue and yellow wings that are made of feathers instead of leathery skins. Golden diamond markings on her back with silver dots in them. She even has blue mixed with yellow feathers on her head, making it look she has a feather crown like hat. Jon was wrapping a clean bandaged around the dragoness's tail, indicating that she was injured by the tail. When Jon and Thunder heard them coming, they turned around and nearly gasp to see the Light Fury.
"Wow! Who's this beauty?" Jon asked, referring to the Light Fury.
"This is a Light Fury." Joe explains. "Mira and Sapphire found her resting after her bad welcoming from Edgar."
Jon was shocked to hear that Edgar almost captured her but was soon replaced by amazement to see a new dragon. "Amazing! She must be a subspecies to the Night Fury. I mean, look at her!" Jon exclaims in amazement as he points out to the Light Fury.
The Light Fury was flattered by Jon's words and warbles in appreciation. "She said that she appreciates your words." Mira translated.
"Man, if we turned sixteen, we can't wait to start training with our merman powers." Joe said with a grin.
The Light Fury looks at Sapphire in confusion as the female Night Fury explains to the Light Fury that when they turned sixteen, their mermaid powers are activated and will use it for good, which impressed the Light Fury. Mira looked at the injured dragon as she looks at Mira curiously and calmly. But when the dragoness saw Mira's mark of the mermaid, she instantly bowed in respect to the mermaid.
"It's okay, you don't need to bow." Mira said to the dragon. "What happened to you?"
The dragoness made sounds that resembles a snake. Mira translated to them that this dragoness is called a Serenade Wing. A Mystery Class Dragon that has a musical talent that can hypnotize dragons and Vikings and create a sonic roar that can shatter the mind. She explains to them that she was attacked by pack of wild Monstrous Nightmare when she accidentally went into their territory. She said that she did her best to defend herself and was able to escape from them but got injured in the process. She was lucky that Jon and Thunder was able to stop the bleeding and preventing it from getting infected. They decided to bring her back to the edge, so her wounds can heal quickly, and the Light Fury can have a place to hide. So, agreeing with their decision, they set off back to the Edge and introduce their new friends to the Riders and X. Joe and Jon's dragon flew beside the injured dragoness, helping her stay afloat while their riders check her injuries in midflight. Mira and Sapphire were flying beside the dragoness as they headed towards the edge. The Light Fury flew beside Sapphire and Mira. The white dragon was chatting along with Sapphire happily, enjoying their conversation. Mira smiles at the two dragons, thinking that they almost look like sisters.
"You know, we should give you name." Mira said with a smile, causing the Light fury to look at her curiously.
"What name you have in mind for her, Sis?" Joe asked, looking at his older sister.
Mira hums a bit as she thinks of a name for the Light Fury. She remembered a beautiful constellation that her aunts taught her and Astrid, during their training sessions with them. Smiling, Mira looks at the Light Fury, already found a perfect name for her.
"Virgo. Her name is Virgo." Mira said happily, earning a approval roar from the Light Fury that is now named Virgo.
"Virgo, huh? It's suits her." Jon agrees with his sister's choice along with Joe before they turned to the injured dragon. "What are we going to name her?"
"Oh! I have one!" Joe exclaims, raising his hand as he grins. "We shall call her Festivia!"
"Festivia?" Mira and Jon asked in confusion.
"Yeah! I mean, look at her feather crown. It looks festive on her." Joe explains.
The Serenade Wing roars in agreement, liking the name Festivia. Mira chuckles at her. "She likes her new name, Joe." She said, earning a grin from her brother. Soon, the siblings headed back to the Edge with their new friends, ready to explain to the others about their new discovery.
The name Festivia came from Star vs, the Forces of Evil from Queen Festivia Butterfly or Festivia the Fun. And I always like the name Virgo.
If you guys don't like the chapter, then sorry, I had nothing else to write.
