Chapter 44: A World Collide

It was a peaceful day in Dragon's Edge, the sun was shining, the Night Terrors were singing, as Hiccup and Toothless finished constructing a somewhat long-distance telescope in the Edge, to act as a scouting mechanism. Astrid, Mira, and their dragons were there along with Virgo. Festivia was flying around with some Night Terrors, playing around and having fun.

"All right. I think one more plasma blast should do the trick, bud." Hiccup said, looking at Toothless. The male Night Fury fires a small Plasma blast, creating smoke, which surprises Hiccup as he laughs and coughs at it. "Great job!"

With the new long-distance telescope done, Astrid tested it out, and was amazed to see that far distance. "Nice. I can see straight to the horizon." She said as she looked over to Hiccup.

"That should definitely make it harder for anyone to sneak up on us." Hiccup explained, looking at the telescope.

"Agreed, we might spot Edgar and his men somewhere." Mira said, remembering Edgar was still out there.

"I wonder how the twins' lookout tower is coming along." Hiccup said, remembering the Twins' assignment.

Astrid scoff. "I can only imagine." She said sarcastically.

"I'm with Astrid on this, Hiccup. I don't think the twins are capable of doing a...perfect job." Mira said, earning a nod from Astrid.

Speaking of the Thorston Twins, they were doing construction on the watchtower, everyone thought they couldn't finish it. However, in some miracle, Ruffnut and Tuffnut actually built a fine watchtower and, for the first time, it didn't break or explode.

"Hey. Does something seem off to you?" Tuff asked his sister, as they both looked at the watchtower that they made.

"Yeah. This should have fallen down a long time ago." Ruff agrees with her brother, thinking that the watchtower that they made.

"Maybe we actually did something...No, that's impossible!" Tuff suddenly exclaims, causing Ruff to look at her brother with suspicion.

"Say it." She demanded.

"Something...right?" Tuff said in shock, causing Ruff to gasp in shock. "Ugh! I have a weird feeling inside. Is that accomplishment?" He questioned, feeling positive energy inside of him.

"Whoa! I think I feel it, too. Quick! Let's go rub it in Hiccup's face before the feeling subsides!" Ruff said to her brother, who agreed.

They got on their dragons and took off to the sky, leaving their rock watchtower unguarded. Meanwhile, X was scouting the area, searching for any signs of trouble. They need to be full alert since Edgar is out there, plotting his revenge. Though Fishlegs wasn't doing anything, except feeding Meatlug some different types of rocks. It causes her to barf different colors of lava while experimenting them on the Dragon Eye, creating a light that reveals and deciphering new directions to Fishlegs joy. When X returns with the others, the Thorston Twins arrive, grinning happily. X narrowed his eyes with suspicion.

"Okay, what did you idiots do this time?" X questioned them in annoyance.

"Oh, you'll see! Hiccup! Drop everything you're doing and bring your face." Tuff said to Hiccup, who stops hammering. He and the others looked at the smugged twins, as if they did something 'amazing'.

"Prepare to be rubbed." Ruff boasted.

Soon enough, they were at the spot where the Twins built their watchtower. Joe and Jon were not there since they went to Berk, needing to get more bandages since Jon ran out because of Snotlout and the Twins. Barf and Belch were covering the supposed to be watchtower as the Thorston Twins started bragging about, announcing the new watchtower.

Tuff exclaims happily. "Dragon Riders, you asked for it! We built it. Presenting you…" That's the cue when Ruff made trumpet noises, "With your new rock lookout tower!" Tuff finished.

But when the Zippleback moved, the watchtower wasn't there at all. The others were not surprised, thinking they messed up again. The twins were shocked to see their watchtower gone.

"You guys never disappoint, do you?" Snotlout asked them sarcastically.

"What? No! Wait! It was here a minute ago!" Tuff explains, knowing that they accomplished the watchtower. Soon, he glares at his sister and accuses her. "What did you do with it, Ruffnut?"

"I didn't do anything with it!" Ruff defended angrily.

"You lying she-beast! You were always jealous of my rock tower." Tuff pointed out.

Ruff glares at him angrily. "Your rock tower?!"

She tackles her brother and beats up mercilessly as he screams in pain. X and Astrid facepalmed by this while Snotlout was amused by their fighting. Mira and Hiccup winced by their fighting. Soon, things got serious when the twins brought up sharp weapons-Tuff uses an axe while Ruff uses a mace-as they charged at each other with battle cries. But before they could clash, Hiccup went between them, stopping their fight, much to Snotlout's annoyance.

"Okay, okay, okay. Let's everyone step away from the sharp objects. Okay, look, maybe this job was just too tough for you to do alone. I can always put Astrid on the project with you." Hiccup suggested.

"Uh. Hiccup, let's not be hasty." Astrid said, not wanting to be paired up with the twins.

"But we did build it. Honest." Ruff said.

"Trust me, H, no one was more surprised about that than we were." Tuff added.

"Since when you two were honest?" X questioned in annoyance. "You both lie all the time."

"That's not true!" Tuff said, earning looks from the others. "Okay, so we might have lied some times or many times. I don't know, it seems like a blur when you have too much fun in doing destruction."

Everyone shook their heads at him before they heard Fishlegs calling to. "Hiccup! Hiccup, come quickly!"

"That does not sound good." Astrid said, hearing Fishlegs call.

"Is he alright?" Mira asked.

"Well, there's one way to find out, you guys go back to work while I check things out." Hiccup said, getting on Toothless before taking off.

Mira gets on Sapphire and heads towards the beach with Virgo while Astrid and Stormfly go to patrol with X, leaving Snotlout to do whatever he wants since he doesn't do much to help.

As it turns out, Fishlegs found a map to Dark Deep, the ancestral home of the Gronckles. Fishlegs and Hiccup decided to venture there. But before they did, the Thornton Twins were groaning from exhaustion, because they just rebuilt their watchtower from scratch.

"Uh, Ruff, Tuff?" Hiccup called out to them.

"Keep it down, will you? We were up all night rebuilding the lookout tower from scratch." Ruff groans in pain.

"Hey, great! Well, I should have a look at it then, shouldn't I?" Hiccup said to them.

"Get ready to feast your eyes." Tuff said tiredly.

When they reached the spot, where the watchtower was supposed to be, but sadly, there wasn't there.

"Okay, so what should my eyes be feasting on, exactly?" Hiccup asked them unsure.

The Twins turned around and Tuff said. "Well, the tower...Oh, come on!" He exclaims angrily, seeing the tower was gone again. "Wait. Maybe we were pointing in the wrong direction. No, that's it. Left of the chicken. Hi, chicken." He greeted as the chicken clucked. "Somebody keeps stealing our tower!"

"Oh, come on! You know no one's going to admit to it. Let's just go rebuild the stupid thing." Ruff said in annoyance, walking away to gather the materials they need.

"Can't trust anyone on this outpost." Tuff started, following his sister.

"Yeah. You're all a bag of liars." Ruff added in the background.

As they left Hiccup, Mira came with Virgo and Sapphire, as they finished their patrol on the beach. "Are they okay?" She asked.

"Long story." Hiccup said.

When Hiccup and Fishlegs left, the others stayed and kept an eye on the island. Though, something was strange. One time, X and Voltage gathered some rocks for the catapults, but when they came back, all the rocks were gone. And when Mira, Sapphire, and Virgo finished clearing the rocks on the beach, they suddenly disappeared when they left to get X.

It didn't take them long to find the culprits.

As it turns out, they found many Gronckles in the Edge, eating rocks that were meant for the known defensive wall. The others weren't sure why they were here, but something tells them that Hiccup and Fishlegs and Hiccup might have the answer when they get back. When they did, and to their dismay, they brought three more Gronckles.

"Care to explain?" X asked with his arms crossed, watching the three wild Gronckles running about.

"Just a few stray Gronckles. We should be able to handle that." Hiccup explained.

Ruff scoffs at him as she looks at her brother. "Just a few strays, he says."

"Yeah, you should really have a look at this." Astrid, gesturing the training dome.

There, they saw many Gronckles there, much to Hiccup and Fishlegs' shock. Joe and Jon came back from Berk and were checking on the Gronckles.

"So this is where all the Gronckles from Dark Deep went." Hiccup said, looking at the Gronckles.

"Can you believe they flew all this way? Gronckles may be slow, but they are tenacious." Fishlegs explained happily which Hiccup agreed.

"Yeah. Tell me about it." Tuff said, leaning on the tree with his arms crossed before he spotted a wild Gronckle eating a rock. "Hey! Don't you put that rock in your mouth! You have no idea where it's been, mister." He scolded, chasing after the runaway Grocnkle while yelling. "Shoo! Shoo, Gronckle! Shoo!"

"Hiccup, these guys are out of control. We have to get them back to their island." Astrid said to him.

"There might be a problem with that." Hiccup said to her.

"What do you mean?" Mira asked, not liking where this was going.

"Uh-huh, they've been chased from their homeland by a giant Boulder Class dragon." Fishlegs explained, walking over to them. "The Catastrophic Quaken, to be exact."

"Do you know that dragon?" Mira asked X.

X nodded. "Yes, I think that dragon is bigger than Monstrous Nightmare, it has the same diet as the Grocnkles, but it is known to cause powerful sonic quakes when crashing to the ground." He explains.

"Quaken Shmaken!" Snotlout came over to them. "You let one lousy dragon take over Meatlug's entire island?"

"It's not that simple, Snotlout."

"Oh. Sure it is. Quaken, one. Meatlug-" Snotlout made buzzer sound and thumb down. "-pathetic."

"Well, if you're so confident, why don't you take it down by yourself." X challenged with his arms crossed.

Hookfang snickers at this, agreeing with X as he imagined Snotlout being plumited by the Quaken. Snotlout was about to speak but Hiccup stopped this.

"Okay. Let's just drop it. We have a bigger problem here." Hiccup said as he explained his plan. "We need to wrangle all these wild Gronckles. And since I unfairly doubted the twins, I put them in charge."

"That's a shocker." X said while Tuff came over, holding a rock in hand.

"Awesome. It'll be nice to get to know these guys a little bit better. We got off to a little bit of a rocky start on our relationship." Tuff laughed at his joke, but no one was laughing. They walked away, shaking their heads or rolling their eyes. "You see what I did there? I'll explain it later. My humor can be quite complex."

"Just get the Grocnkles in one spot." X said, walking away.

The whole afternoon, the Thorston Twins tried to wrangle all the Grocnkles, but no avail. There were too many of them to take care of. Luckily, Joe and Jon came and were able to calm them down, since they are very good with dragons. Fishlegs and Meatlug watched them from afar. Fishlegs was upset about Meatlug's homeland taken over by one dragon and promised her to take it back someday.

But their peace was interrupted by Snotlout, offering Fishlegs help by training him to be ruthless, risk-taking, and aggressive. However, much to his disappointment, Fishlegs disagrees to do it, since that's not him. Snotlout then points out to him that if he doesn't do it, meaning he can't win Dark Deep for the Gronckles. Fishlegs wants to win but does not want to do it in Snotlout's way before leaving, but not before Snotlout shouted at him, telling Fishlegs that he will certainly return and take the offer.

On the next day, Mira was fishing on the beach with Sapphire and Virgo. Joe and Jon were helping them with their dragons, catching fishes for the dragons. There were many fishes today, they even caught some lobsters. As they put the fishes in the baskets, some Gronckles were following Festivia, who was making music, and was playing with them. Scourge and Lavender come by as the young female Night Fury joins in the fun. Scourge settles down and watches Lavender playing with them, soon joined by Lightning and Thunder.

But their fun was interrupted when the Thorston Twins came crashing down, scarring off the Gronckles in the process. The group looked at them in confusion while Barf and Belch got up from the ground, shaking their heads with the twins on their necks.

"By any chance did you guys see some Gronckles nearby?" Ruff asked them.

"Why?" Mira asked, already knowing the answer.

"Not that we lost them or anything. Even if we did, we'd deny it." Tuff added.

Joe rolled his eyes at them. "To answer your question, we did, they just flew off when you guys crashed here."

"Great! Now, excuse us, we will be on our way." Tuff said as they were about to leave.

"By the way, have you've two seen Fishlegs?" Jon asked. "I made his lingonberry oil for Meatlug. I tried to find him, but he wasn't home."

"We saw him taking Snotlout somewhere." Ruff said. "He said something about taking back Meatlug's home or whatever."

This caused their eyes to widen in shock, knowing what's going on, Mira and her brothers got on their dragons and quickly took off to warn Hiccup and Astrid. They quickly informed them on what's going on as they took off to Dark Deep, with Snotlout and Hookfang-who was going to escape, but was forced to joined in to save Fishlegs and Meatlug- There, they saw Fishlegs and Meatlug struggling to fight off the Quaken. They were able to draw it off, but were blown away by its Quaken's sizmick blow. They were lucky that the fight didn't last long when Fishlegs and Meatlug found the Catastrophic Quaken's cave where Fishlegs sees that he's been living on the island all by himself, alone.

When Fishlegs and Meatlug ran for the exit, they were confronted by the Catastrophic Quaken. Fishlegs stands his ground in bravery, where the Riders think that what he's doing is craxy. The Catastrophic Quaken rolls down quickly towards them, and then it gets launched and seems to plummet and crush Fishlegs to death. But at the last moment, Fishlegs lives and unhurt because the Quaken faces them since Meatlug was facing the Quaken. She communicates with a dragon and discovers that the Quaken isn't actually aggressive at all, it was just scared and alone. Soon, the Gronckles came, after escaping the Thorston Twins, flew back to Dark Deep where they befriended the Quaken, knowing that he would no longer be alone.

"Hey! I thought everyone said that thing was tough. Doesn't look so tough to me." Tuff pointed out, disappointed to see the Quaken not that all scary.

"It is tough, when you provoke it." X said, flying down to the others.

As they landed, the Quaken smashed a big rock into pieces, allowing the Gronckles to feast upon the rocks. Hiccup made his way to Fishlegs, who was feeling happy about what he did.

"Fishlegs, that was just about the craziest and bravest, but mostly craziest, thing I have ever seen anyone do." Hiccup complimented his friend, who smiled.

"You were right, Hiccup. Fighting dirty isn't me." Fishlegs said, gesturing the now happy Quaken. "That was me."

"It sure was." Hiccup said proudly.

"The Quaken was just being defensive, it was scared and all by itself, it wasn't angry at all." Fishlegs explains to him.

"And that's the reason why it made the Gronckles leave." Mira added.

Then Snotlout came. "Oh! Fishlegs, that was awesome! Just like I taught you. No need to thank me. Success is its own reward." He bragged.

"Didn't you try to run away from the fight?" Jon pointed out, earning snickers from the Furies.

Snotlout growls at them.

"Oh, really, Snotlout? Tell me more!" Fishlegs said sarcastically as Snotlout was about to speak, but Fishlegs cut him off. "Oh, yeah, that's right. I just remembered I don't care."

With that, Fishlegs walks away, while Hiccup laughs and soon follows him with the others.

"I taught him too well." Snotlout said, almost proud.

In a few days, the Edge was in peace, but peace was soon interrupted when they were on Berk, gathering some supplies and ready to take off, when Stoick and Gobber stopped them, informing the Riders about the attacks on ships and asked who is responsible for such a crime. At first, Tuff confessed in a dramatic way, but no. It wasn't him. Hiccup and the Riders state they are not responsible for the attack since they were at Edge for so long, and they knew that Kishi didn't do it since he was watching over Betty and Aqua. They suspect that a rogue Dragon Rider, which was a shocker since they were the ones who are dragon riders. But they decide to investigate. They check the boat that was attacked and find any clues that were left behind. Astrid and Hiccup suspect that Edgar might be responsible for the attack. But the attack was strategies, well planned. Usually, Edgar would attack head forward without thinking since he's insane.

Soon afterward, the Riders investigate further seeing how much damage the dragon and its rider caused and also seeing all supplies from the ship being looted. The Twins discover something left off by the dragon, a barb and it looks like it was made of metal. At first, they didn't give it Hiccup, but the young chief was able to get it when Tuff hurt himself with the barb. Hiccup then plans on to find the dragon that will certainly lead them to the rogue Rider.

They headed back to Berk and to the Great Hall. There, Bucket described the dragon's appearance that Fishlegs was drawing. When he finished, Bucket flees in terror of its appearance. The dragon was unfamiliar and Fishlegs never saw the dragon like this in the Book of Dragons or Bork's Papers. Luckily, X and Kishi knew the dragon. It was actually a Razorwhip, a Sharp Class dragon. They know what it is since they saw some on their travels. Though, X and Voltage were frozen in a glacier, but still known about the Razorwhip.

Kishi informs them that Razorwhip is

A very aggressive and very dangerous. It can use its tail to wrap around a victim and literally squeeze the life out of them. Unless it's in a hurry. Then it just slices you in half. Plus, it has poisonous tears. The Thorston Twins liked this dragon since it was awesome and dangerous. But there is a way to help them locate the Razorwhip, Sea slugs. Tuff panicked when they mentioned Sea slugs, believing they are slimy monsters that are snails without homes or in his opinion 'Giant homeless snails'.

So, with that info, they set off to find the island that has sea slugs. They found five islands that have them, but no Razorwhip or dragon rider. They were going for the last two islands, and decided to split up. Mira, X, the J Twins, and Statera (Kishi/Mors) on the last island while the rest go to the other island. Virgo and Festivia were with Mira and the others along with Scourge and Lavender since they have nothing to do on the island.

They search through the island for any signs of dragon rider and the Razorwhip. They search through the forest, staying close. Suddenly, X picks up an unknown scent and follows it, with the others chasing after him. They found themselves on a small clearing, that has some burn marks on the ground. Joe investigates it, since he is a skilled hunter, he knows what dragon must've left these scorch marks.

"These are Monstrous Nightmare's." Joe explains, getting up from the ground. "But it's hotter, indicating that it left in a hurry."

"You think it's a Titan Wing? Like Warfire?" Mira suggested.

"Could be, but maybe-"

Joe was cut off when X saw something in the corner near him as he quickly tackled Joe to the ground. "Look out!"

Joe and X avoided a huge stream of fire as it hit a boulder. They landed on the ground as everyone was in battle mode. They turned towards the direction of the blast and nearly gasped to see it was a human/dragon hybrid!

It was male, about the same age as X. He has red scales on his tan skin, bright yellow eyes, sharp fangs, Monstrous Nightmare wings and talon like feet, tail, and horns on his head-and has red hair. He snarls at them, baring his fangs. X stood up and did the same. And scars were all over his body. The two male hybrids circled each other, growling and snarling.

"Oh, my Thor! Another Human Dragon Hybrid!" Jon said in shock.

"Yeah, and this one, I believe is a Stoker Type." Jon said, helping his brother up as they went towards the others.

"But why is he here?" Mira asked nervously, holding her axe.

"Judging by his angry look, I say we accidentally went into his territory." Jon explains. "X, be careful!"

Oh, he will be careful alright. X and the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid roared at each other, sizing themselves as they are proving their dominance. Soon, the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid tackles X, causing the two to have a fists fight with one another. X kicks him off before headbutting the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid's head, hard. He roared in pain but quickly shakes it off before releasing a stream of fire at X, who uses his wings as shields. He didn't get burned as X recovered and took off to the sky with the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid. As they battled in the air, Sapphire and Virgo heard whimpering from the corner of a rocky hill.

Suspicious, Sapphire nudges her rider gently, telling her that she and Virgo heard something. They followed the two Furies while X and the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid fought each other to the sky. Once they reached their destination, they found a cave that was hidden between some rocks. They carefully came in, Scourge had to squeeze through since he was big, but was able to get in. They saw fire from a distance and followed it.

Once they saw what was at the end of the cave, they nearly gasped.

There, they saw twin sisters that are Human Dragon Hybrid. They appeared to be Joe and Jon's age. They have feathered wings, a snake tail with hair like strands. They don't have horns, but they have feather accessories. They have different colors, showing which is which. The first one has red, orange, and yellow feathers, amber scales on her tan skin, and platinum blonde hair with orange streaks. The other girl has blue, purple, and green feathers, light blue scales on her tan skin, and platinum blonde hair with purple streaks. They both have matching jade green eyes, shining by the fire. They both wear matching brown tunics, revealing their stomach, and short skirts.

They hissed at them dangerously, seeing the intruders in their cave.

"Wow! They look just like Festivia." Jon whispers out. "Maybe they're Serenade Human Dragon hybrids."

"Yeaahh...and I don't think they're happy." Joe whispers back, pointing out how angry the two sister hybrids are.

They slowly backed away before they heard light coughing. Jon glanced at the floor and noticed that it had a bunch of blankets. And in that pile was a small human hybrid that appears to be the same age as their little sister, Betty. He notices that it was a he and was coughing, indicating that he was sick. He knows that he has a bad cough. So, setting down, Jon rummages his satchel to get curtain medicine. The two sister hybrids hissed at him before he brought his arms up, one of his hands has a bottle of medicine that stops coughing.

"It's a medicine! It's a medicine!" Jon explains to them quickly before showing them the medicine bottle. "It can help him."

He gestured to the small human hybrid male, peeking through the blankets, coughing a bit. The two sister hybrids continued hissing at him until the dragons roared at them, saying that they should trust them since they are mermaids. Hearing this, the two sister hybrids stopped hissing and looked at each other as they looked at Mira and her mark and then Jon with the medicine.

Jon was getting nervous, he needed to check on the little guy before he gets worse. Soon afterwards, the two girls talked with each other before creating a path for Jon. Seeing this, Jon carefully walked past them, ignoring the stares, before kneeling down in front of the small human dragon hybrid. The young one has the appearance of a Scauldron. He has wings, scales, tail, and eye color that matches the Tidal Class dragon. And his hair is light blue. The little human hybrid looks at him as he opens the bottle and shows it to him.

"Come on, drink it. It's safe." He assured kindly.

The little one blinked at him before slowly taking the bottle with his small claw like hands and drinking it whole. It didn't taste bad, rather, it tasted sweet, like honey. Once he finishes, he licks his lips and burps loudly. Jon smiles, knowing he is going to get better soon.

"There, see. We're not bad." Jon said as the small human dragon hybrid decided to take a nap.

Suddenly, they heard a loud explosion, indicating that X and the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid were still fighting, they quickly ran out of the cave while the second sister picked up the small dragon human hybrid and saw the battle outside. There, they saw X and the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid fighting off with firepower. The Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid, who set himself on fire, releases balls of fire from his mouth while X creates an electrical shield, causing the balls of fire to explode from impact. They were almost equals, but soon will destroy each other in the end or the island if they don't stop.

"We have to stop them." Mira said.

Hearing this, the two human sister hybrids looked at each other before the second sister gave the small human hybrid to Mira before she and her sister took off to the sky, faster than a blinking eye. X and the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid were about to release their firepower when the twin sisters came in front of them, roaring and hissing at them to stop. The Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid roars at them, telling them to move. But they hissed at him saying that these humans are not a threat, rather, they are mermaids in human forms. The Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid growls as he looks down at three siblings and sees their young pack member sleeping in Mira's arms. Seeing the sleeping young one, the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid calms down a bit and slowly lets his flame die down. X stops his lightning and calms down as they fly down to meet up with the others.

"It seems that they calm down." Statera said to their minds.

"For how long." Joe whispers out.

Mira sighs a bit before noticing the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid coming to her, looking at the sleepin member in her arms. "Oh, um...here you go."

She gives back the small member to him as he gently holds the child hybrid in his arms. He turns and walks away from them. The two sisters went after him, ready to take flight. But before they did, Mira called out to them.

"Wait! What are your names?" She asked.

The Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid stopped and slightly turned to her with narrowed eyes. Mira backed away a bit before X came in front of her, shielding her if the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid tried anything. After a few minutes of silence, the Stoker Human Dragon Hybrid made small growls to Mira, which she understood, before he took off with the two sisters, leaving the dumbstruck group.

"Woah...what did he say?" Joe asked his sister, staring at the sky.

"He said his name is Stoker...and the two females are Melody and Harmony, and the last member is named Zale." Mira explains the name.

"Wow, you just picked that up from that growl?" Jon asked.

"Yeah...and I don't think we'll be seeing them for a while." Mira said.

"I doubt it." X said before the three siblings get on their dragons. "Come on, we should meet up with the others, they're probably might have info of the rogue dragon rider.

They nodded and headed back to the Edge. And indeed, the rest of the riders found out that the rogue dragon rider was actually Heather. Mira hadn't seen Heather in years. The last time they saw her was when her family went back home to their island. Heather was delighted to see Mira again, since she was the one that risked her life saving her parents.

Although, their meeting with the other dragon riders didn't go so well. You see, she has been living alone on that island for years, and she kind of made more than a few enemies. She didn't want them to be involved as she tried to send them back to Berk. When she meant to send them back, she tried to scare them.

She rolled Snotlout into a river, leaving Fishlegs dangling in a tree, pushing the Twins off their dragons and crashing to the ground- leaving Tuffnut unconscious, trapping Astrid in a cave, even though she admitted that the chicken move brought back some memories.

Heather did apologize, though she was shocked to see Kishi, X, and Voltage. She learns that Kishi has a dragon known as Mors, who he can turn into and become Statera. X is a human Skrill hybrid while his brother is a full Skrill. Heather soon meets Virgo the Light Fury and Festivia the Serenade Dragon. She was shocked to see them, especially Virgo. She gotta admit, she's very beautiful. Soon, they went to the clubhouse, where the riders were asking Heather about her Razorwhip.

"Wait, where did you find her?" Tuff asked.

"More importantly, can we ride it?" Ruff asked with a excitinging grin.

Then Snotlout came forwards and leaned over to Heather, who became annoyed. "Did you miss me? I think you did. That's why you threw that tree at me. Isn't it? Playing hard to get. Me likey."

Annoyed, Heather uses her index finger to push Snotlout's forehead, causing him to fall backwards, and was tripped by Astrid. He lets out a yelp as he falls on the floor while the two Shield maidens fists bump.

"Never mind him." Fishlegs said before looking at Heather excitingly. "How did you train a Razorwhip? It's incredible!"

Heather smiles at the riders. "Actually, I owe a lot to you, guys." She said with gratitude.

"To us?" Astrid asked in surprise.

Snotlout, who thought Heather was talking about him, started bragging. "To me. She meant to me. I mean, how much more obvious can she be?" He wiggled his eyebrows, causing Astrid to groan in annoyance. "Ahh, women. I totally understand them."

Unaware, Heather's Razorwhip found him annoying, and decided to whack him with her tail, causing him to fall on the floor again. Astrid smirks while Snotlout learns how tough the Razorwhip is. "Okay, great. Check you later!"

Heather rolled her eyes and patted her dragon. "When I found Windshear…"

She was cut off by Tuffnut, who likes the name. "Awesome name! I bet you ride like the wind, shearing through it! Get it? I used both of the words in its name to explain why he's called that!"

Everyone, minus his sister-who was grinning at her brother in agreement- gave him an annoyed look while Hiccup mutters 'Oh, gods...'

"You mean she." X explained to him, causing Tuff to look at him. "Windshear is a girl.

Heather nodded at him and patted Windshear. "He's right. Anyway, when I found her, she'd been hurt in a fight with a Typhoomerang. Windshear held her own. Didn't you, girl?" She said to her dragon, who croons at her. "But she needed to be nursed back to health. Then when she was better, I used the training you guys taught me on Berk. We've become the perfect team. We're unstoppable. I mean, look at her! No one can take us down. And if they try, they'll be sorry for it."

Snotlout scoofs. "Ha! I guess she's pretty cool, but not as cool as this. Hookfang, flame up!"

With that, Hookfang came to the entrance and lit himself on fire while Snotlout did his smug look. Heather casually looks at them before gesturing her dragon.

"That's cute. Windshear, tail slice!"

Windshear obeyed as she used her tail to slice around Snotlout, who froze in fear, before stopping. Snotlout looks around and grins. "What's so great about...AH!" He yelped when the floor gave away, and the gang looked at the hole and saw Snotlout dangling onto a pole. "Okay, we'll call it a draw."

"Ha!" Joe laughs at him, seeing him dangling like that.

"Hmph...Heather: One, Snotlout: Zero." Jon stated as he and his brother fists bumped.

"What else can she do?" Fishlegs asked Heather excitingly.

"Her breath can burn the flesh off a human from 100 feet away." Heather explains about Windshear's breath, causing Mira to step back a bit.

"You're gonna get me outta here?" Snotlout asked anyone to get him out the hole while waving a hand.

"In a minute Snotlout." Jon said as he and the others listened to Heather.

"One single blade of her tail is as deadly as the sharpest battle-ax." Heather explains as Windshear brought her tail near the hole, where Snotlout attempts to climb out, when she shows her spiked tail. Snotlout yelps as he falls back in. As the Thorston Twins went over to Heather, Astrid talks with Hiccup, happy to see how tough Heather is now.

"Great having Heather back. She's so... I don't know, intense, hardcore. I love it!" Astrid said happily.

"Yeah, it's great. She's definitely grown up since the last time we saw her." Hiccup said, unsure if he should accept the new strong minded Heather.

"Hiccup, it's been three years. We were just kids. We've all grown up." Astrid said to him.

"Yeah, but she was so sweet, and now she's so...I don't know." Hiccup tries to find the right words.

"Strong and Edgy like Astrid?" X suggested.

"I know right? I like it!" Astrid agrees with X, giving him a light punch on the arm.

"Astrid, there's edgy and then there's destroying ships, which I still need to ask her about." Hiccup informs her, reminding Astrid that Heather sank some ships.

"Well, do me a favor and wait until after I ask her about her battle-ax. I want her to show me how to make one for myself." Astrid said, grinning at Heather's axe, seeing it can turn into a long weapon with blades on each end of it. The Thorston twins fought her, but ultimately lost since her skills in combat improved and her axe is stronger.

Astrid grins at Heather and brings up her sword. "See? Hardcore."

With battle cry, Astrid and Heather fought while Hiccup, X, Kishi, Mira, and the J Twins watched them fight. Mira wonders why Heather is acting like this, and why she raided the ships. X and Kishi were suspicious about Heather, as if she was hiding something. Toothless came over to Hiccup, who leaned on his dragon.

"I don't suppose you want to talk to her, do you, bud?" Hiccup asked his dragon, who responded by going over to Heather, causing Hiccup to fall. "Yeah, thanks again for everything."

As Toothless laughs, X helps Hiccup up. "There's a reason why she's like this." He said.

"There's a reason?" Hiccup asked him.

"Yes, a dark secret is clouding her mind." Kishi said telepathically to Hiccup. "But we can't let her know that we are our own to her."

Hiccup agreed and decided to talk to Heather later. Later that night, as everyone went back to their huts, Mira and her brothers with X, Kishi, and their dragons decided to go to the hidden sea cave they found. The reason why they were going there is to meet up with one of Mira and the J Twins' aunts. You see, if they needed help, their aunts would provide them assistance or inform them about the Archipelago. Once they made it, they found Hrönn waiting for them.

"Hi Aunt Hrönn!" The J Twins greeted, coming over to their aunt.

Hrönn smiles at her nephews as she floats above the water while they stand over the edge of the rocky platform. "Hello everyone, how is everything on the Edge?" Hrönn asked kindly.

"Great...but we need your help." Mira said to her.

"The Nine Daughters of Aegir are here to help, Mira." Hrönn said to her niece.

"Actually, we wanted to know what happened to Heather, she seems so...strong and yet...she's hiding something."

Hrönn was silent, her face showing her serious expression. They knew that she had the answer about. "Are you willing to know what happened to Heather?" Hrönn asked them.

"Yes." Mira said and the others agreed.

Hrönn closes her eyes for a few seconds before opening them and looks at Mira and the others. "Three years ago, Heather's island was attacked by invaders. Her entire village was wiped out by them, including her own family." She explains.

This made everyone shocked to hear such information. So, the reason why Heather is like that is because she lost her home and family.

"She vowed to avenge her island and her family." Hrönn continues.

"But why sinking and looting ships?" Joe asked.

"She's not looting ships, rather redistributing back to the victims who were robbed. Every ship that Heather attacks means they'll get back some of what they've lost, but lost loved ones can never be replaced." Hrönn said to them.

"So, Heather was returning the items that were stolen from those raiders." Mira theorized. "And she's been on edge because she wants-"

"Revenge to the person responsible for the death of her family." Kishi finished as he looked at Hrönn. "Do you know who that person that caused Heather so much pain."

"I believe you all already know him." Hrönn pointed out.

The gang was silent, thinking of who she meant. It can't be Alvin, he and Stoick made amends after he rescued him and his son from Edgar. Wait...EDGAR! This is what Hrönn meant by it. Edgar must've destroyed Heather's home and family. But the answer is...why? Why invade Heather's home and family? They asked Hrönn the reason, but she simply said.

"Why don't you tell her, afterall. She is leaving as we speak."

With that said, Hrönn left them, heading back to the ocean. But they already know what she meant, Heather has left the island to go after Edgar. They didn't have time to wake up the others as they took off to find Heather. Luckily, X and the dragons have her scent as they race through the night to find her. And when they did, they along with Hiccup and Toothless-who were surprised to see them-saw Heather and Windshear were caught by Edgar and his men. They quickly rescued her on time before things got serious. Hiccup was able to convince Heather to retreat since what she was doing was suicidal. They headed back to the Edge while Heather explained the reason why she wanted revenge on Edgar. Mira and the others already know this, but they didn't know that her family was actually her adopted family.

Years ago, when she was a little girl, she got separated from her birth family. She doesn't remember much since it was a long time ago. She only remembers a little of her birth family. She remembers her father's hands. They were rough, like sandstone, but so gentle. And she remembered the smell of his wooden shield. She didn't think she was supposed to play with it, but he let her anyway. And the last thing she had of him, was a horn. She doesn't know if it means something, but whenever she looks at it, she thinks of him. She just wished she knew who he was.

Hearing this, everyone felt pity towards her. They flew back to the Edge in silence. Though, she has to deal with a not so happy group of dragon riders and their dragons after she locked the fire breathing beasts in their pens.

"Look, I'm sorry I locked up your dragons. I just didn't trust that you guys would let me go after Dagur." Heather apologizes, which made the Thorston Twins hum in agreement.

"Trust does need to be earned with people and dragons." Fishlegs pointed out to Heather.

"Thanks for understanding, Fishlegs." Heather thanked, causing Fishlegs to smile and blush at her.

Then Snotlout butts in, wanting to impress her. "I don't really trust these guys either, Heather." He said.

Heather made an annoyed look while Astrid said. "You know, we can hear you."

"Jealousy is an ugly quality, Astrid. But clearly, I understand where it comes from." Snotlout said boastfully while flirting at Astrid, who almost puked.

"Weren't you jealous whenever X did something cool?" Joe pointed out, leaning on the table with his brother.

"Shut up, Jon!" Snotlout said to him.

"Uh, I'm Joe, he's Jon." Joe corrected, pointing at him and then his brother, who saluted.

"I...you...shut up." Snotlout grumbles.

Hiccup sighs and walks over to Heather and places an assuring hand on her shoulder. "The point is, we have you back, Heather. You're one of us." He said to her.

"Yeah, I stocked Windshear's stable with buckets of sea slugs." Fishlegs said, earning an appreciated smile from Heather.

"And I made room for you in my hut!" Snotlout added as he grins.

Heather didn't like that but Hiccup assured her. "And I've made it clear to Snotlout that you're not staying in his hut. But staying with either Mira or Astrid."

Heather smiles to do that while Snotlout grumbles. Then Tuffnut added dramatically while angrily. "Even though you were the rogue dragon rider and you sabotaged our dragons and you snuck away in the dark of the night! Wait a minute, why do we like you again?" He questioned.

X facepalmed at him while Heather apologized with all her heart. "I'm truly sorry, Tuffnut."

Tuffnut staggers back, surprised from her response. "Whoa! That was...sincere. What am I supposed to do with that? I'm a little bit flushed and overwhelmed. Little help here? People?!" He asked loudly, walking away in confusion.

"Ugh. Help yourself." Ruff groans at her brother.

"And if you need any help with Windshear-" Fishlegs was cut off by Snotlout.

"Why don't I show you around the Edge? I'm basically chief." He boasted.

"No you're not." Joe and Jon said unison.

"Shut up! The both of you!" Snotlout ordered, causing the J twins to stick their tongues at him.

Heather tries to reason with them. "Thanks, guys, really. I-"

"Hey, glad you're back. Your dragon rocks." Ruff added.

Luckily for Heather, Astrid saved her. "Let's go have some girl time."

Heather smiles at her. "Good idea."

They left the clubhouse, leaving the gang behind. They went to Astrid's personal training ground. There, they share their battle skills and tactics. Astrid was having a blast with Heather, and so was she. The two easily became Best Friends. Though, for a while, they soon started talking about boys when Heather said to Astrid that she and Hiccup have a thing. Astrid said that Hiccup and her were just friends, but Heather proved otherwise.

"He's kind of cute." Heather said to Astrid, referring to Hiccup.

Astrid hesitated a bit. "I guess. If you like that unassuming, heroic, dragon rider type." She said before throwing her axe to the target, even though she doesn't admit that she really likes Hiccup.

Heather shrugs before throwing the axe to the target on the center. "Bullseye." She smirks.

Astrid smiles at her and walks over to Heather. "Now, you and Snotlout, that's a match made in Valhalla. I don't know whether to thank you or feel sorry for you." She said.

Heather shrugs. "I can handle Snotlout. And besides, I'm not into the macho Viking type." She explains, getting her axe out of the target. "I like a little smarts. Like Fishlegs."

Astrid almost laughs. "Fishlegs?! Seriously?!"

"What? I think he's funny and cute." Heather said with a smile, shortening her axe.

"We're talking about Fishlegs, right? The guy with the Gronckle?" Astrid pointed out while Heather walked up to her.

"Okay, alright. What about...X?" Heather questioned Astrid. "I mean, he may be half dragon and somewhat wild, but he shows intelligents."

"Great intelligents." Astrid smiles, remembering how X was not Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Tuffnut. "Don't get me wrong, but X has his own unique personality."

Heather smiles and sighs. "Yeah, too bad there's no other half human and dragon hotties these days." She joked, making them both laugh. "Enough boy talk. What else do you do for fun around here?" Heather asked Astrid, making her smile.

Somewhere else, Jon was collecting some herbs to make some potions or medicine. Thunder and Virgo were helping him since they know about herbs. It was peaceful for a while until they heard something. Jon stops for a brief moment and takes out his dagger, Thunder and Virgo were in defensive mode as they followed Jon, who was slowly making his way to the undergrowth. They stopped a few feet near the bush when three figures came out from the undergrowth. Shocked by this, Jon dropped his dagger and the two Furies stopped their attack and saw who those figures were Stoker, Melody and Harmony-who was carrying Zale.

"Stoker?! What are you-how are you...but...how?" Jon tries to find the right words to question his and the others' arrival.

Stoker just gave hima stoic look, indicating he wasn't happy to be here. The girls, on the other hand, were curious about the Edge along with Zale, who was trying to wiggle out from Harmony's arms. Jon panics a bit, knowing that they shouldn't be here. He looks at his dragon.

"Emergency family meeting!" He said.

Knowing this situation, Thunder took off to the sky to get Mira, Kishi, X, and Joe along with their dragons. Jon and Virgo kept an eye on Stoker, Melody, Harmony, and Zale. Soon, Mira, X, Kishi, and Joe came with their dragons and were shocked to see them.

"Why are they here?!" Joe exclaims.

"I don't know! They just appeared out of nowhere!" Jon exclaims.

Stoker hissed a bit with his arms crossed, saying that they came for a reason. Kishi translated that they-well, Melody and Harmony- decided to stay at the Edge, since they heard rumors that it was a safe place and because X, who is a human dragon hybrid, was living there safely. Stoker grudgingly agrees with the two sisters since Zale needs a place to grow up. The others are not sure about this, but they have to consult this with Hiccup. However, since the new human dragon hybrids are not fond of humans yet, they have to sneak them to the clubhouse, where they saw Hiccup and Toothless, looking at Heather's horn.

"Hiccup?" Mira called to him, causing him and Toothless to yelp in surprised and quickly turned to them.

And to their shock, they saw four new human hybrids!

"Uh...when?" Hiccup asked.

"Long story short, these are Stoker, Melody, Harmony, and Zale. We found them on the other island that we thought the rogue dragon rider aka Heather was there. Turns out, it was these four, and X and Stoker fought to the death, and so on-and so on, we became friends and if it's cool if they can live here with us?" Joe explains the whole thing.

Hiccup and Toothless stared at them, not sure how, but they believed them. "Well, since they want to stay then...okay. As long as they don't cause any trouble." He said.

The group turned towards Stoker, who was staring at Hiccup blankly, knowing that he will be the one that will cause trouble. Noticing that they were looking at him, Stoker glares at them, silently telling them not to remind him. Mira looks back at Hiccup and notices Heather's horn.

"Why do you have Heather's horn?" She asked.

Hiccup looks at it and then to the group. "Look, Heather's horn has my dad's chief seal on it." He explains.

"What? How?" Jon asked, walking over to Hiccup.

"I don't know, but maybe my dad knows."

Soon, Hiccup, X, Mira, the J Twins, Kishi (in Mors's form), and their dragons took off with the Human Dragon Hybrids. Stoker didn't like the fact that they're going to a human village, but X-speaking dragon-tells him that they are not bad Vikings, which Stoker ignores. Once they arrived, the first person to greet them was Gobber, sort of.

"Hiccup! From my lips to Odin's ears. I was just saying I could use you and Toothless's help with a pesky flock of wild Nadders that have been driving me batty!" The Blacksmith exclaims, earning roars or squawks from the Nadders. "Yeah, you heard me, you lousy…BY ODIN, WHO ARE THEY?!" He suddenly exclaims, pointing his hook at Stoker, Melody, Harmony, and Zale.

"No time, Gobber. I need to see my dad. It's urgent." Hiccup said to him.

Gobber, still looking at the four human dragon hybrids, said. "Oh. In that case, he's in the Great Hall. But it's Berk's gripe day, so there might be a bit of a wait."

They left Gobber while Stoker narrowed his eyes on him before following the others. In doing so, the Nadder from the background continues squawking, causing Gobber to grumble. "Uh-huh. Stinky little buggers."

They were able to get Stoick off his duty, much to his relief, as Hiccup shows him the horn with his crest. Stoick observes it carefully. Stoker, Melody, Harmony, and Zale were hidden outside, not wanting to go inside the Great Hall with humans yet.

"Where did you get this?" Stoick asked.

"It's Heather's." Hiccup answered, earning a hum from his dad, clearly as if he doesn't know. "She's the girl that stole Stormfly a few years back."

"Yes. Heather." Stoick said, still looking at the horn.

"Dad, that horn has your chief seal carved into it." Hiccup explains to his dad.

"It does." Stoick said almost slowly.

"Is there something you need to tell me?" Hiccup asked his father.

"If so, please tell him. This is important." Mira begged the chief.

Stoick sighs and walks away a bit. "When a Chief has a child, Hiccup, that child receives many gifts from all over. Now when you were born, I asked Gobber to make the smallest axe he'd ever imagined. With a handle tiny enough for a baby to grasp. I wanted you to start training the moment you opened your eyes. I thought your mother was going to feed me to the boars." He explains, almost laughing at the memory.

"I remember that axe..."

"Yeah, you used it as a paperweight." Stoick pointed out dully, making Hiccup embarrassed while Joe snickered a bit.

Deciding to change the subject, Hiccup asked his dad. "About the horn, Dad, Heather told me her father gave it to her. But it has your seal on it."

"Hmmm…" Stoick observes the horn.

Hiccup wasn't sure if his theory was right as he looked at his dad almost worriedly. "Dad, is Heather my sister?" He asked his dad.

Stoick glanced at him and the others, already knowing what the horn means.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Dragon Riders were with Heather. They're helping her to hunt down and capture Edgar the Insane. Heather promises that it is a capture mission and not a kill mission. Though, she wasn't aware that Astrid leaves a map behind in case Hiccup and the rest wanted to find them. Their plan was to sneak attack them. Snotlout, the Twins, and Fishlegs act as diversions, trying to draw the Insanity's attention to themselves, while Heather and Astrid sneak aboard Edgar's ship and use 'the element of surprise' to take his men down, one by one.

But when they reached Edgar, he knew that they were coming and fought them off, even avoiding their dragons. Soon enough, he was able to separate Astrid and Heather and then their dragons. He and Heather were facing each other, axes ready.

"Well, it seems that you survived my invasion." Edgar said to Heather.

Heather glares at him. "After what you did, there will be no mercy for you!"

Edgar laughs. "Strong wielded, just like your birth father."

This got Heather off guard. Her eyes widened in shock by this sudden information. Edgar...knew her birth father? Seeing this, Edgar gave her a cruel smirk.

"Yes, your birth father. The day you were born was his happiest moment in life. But he knew that your life was endangered by one person." Edgar slowly took out his dagger.

"And who might that be?" Heather asked, eyes narrowed.

Edgar grins and throws his dagger at her. "ME!"

Heather was able to deflect the dagger, but didn't have time to dodge Edgar as he tackled her, forcing her to fall on her back, losing her weapon in the process. Heather looks at him with wide eyes as he raises his axe high.

"Say hello to you father for me!"

"HEATHER!" Astrid yells to her friend in fright as she kicks off an Insanity overboard and tries to save her.

But before Edgar could strike, a fireball came out of nowhere, and exploded on the deck, sending Edgar overboard. This shocked everyone before Stoker landed on the boat with a loud Monstrous Nightmare roar. Heather's eyes widened by this, she didn't know that there were other human dragon hybrids! Soon, they realized that Hiccup came with reinforcements. The Night Furies and Light Fury attacked the ships with the plasma blast, distracting the crew while it gave the riders the chance to escape. Stoker helps Heather up as Windshear lands on the boat. She got on her dragon and escapes while the rest take down some ships and retreat, leaving a very angry Edgar.

They flew in silence. Hiccup glanced over to Heather, who was looking down in the dumps, finding out that Edgar knew her father. Stormfly flies over to Hiccup and Toothless as Astrid looks at him.

"Hiccup, we're sorry if we didn't tell you about-"

"It's okay, Astrid. I know the reason why Heather did that and why Edgar knew about her father." Hiccup explains.

This caught everyone's attention, especially Heather's. "What do you mean?" Heather asked.

Hiccup took out Heather's horn and showed her the seal. "This is my father's Chief Seal." He answered, tossing the horn to her, which she caught.

"Stoick's seal is carved in my horn?" Heather spoke in shock as she looked at Hiccup. "What are you saying?"

"Heather, Stoick told us many years ago, he gave this horn to the Chief of the Berserker tribe, Oswald the Agreeable, as a gift for his newborn daughter." Mira explains to her with a worried look in her eyes.

"And you were that newborn, Heather. Oswald the Agreeable is your father. And he is also Dagur's father." Hiccup finished, seeing the shock look on their faces.

"Wait! You're telling us that Heather is a Berserker!?" Snotlout exclaims in shock.

"Yes, Kishi is heading to Berserker Island as we speak, informing Dagur about this." X explains, flying beside them.

Stoker was flying close to the Virgo and Sapphire, ignoring the looks that he was receiving. The others were curious on how Hiccup and the others found him. Ruff was flirting with Stoker, who ignored her, as Meatlug flew beside Hiccup as Fishlegs whispers to him.

"Hiccup, where did you find...him?"

"His name is Stoker, and it's a long story." Hiccup said as they flew to Berk.

Once they were there, they stayed in the Academy. Mira's other dragons were there since they were happy to see her and her brothers home. The J Twins were with Melody and Harmony along with Zale. Zale was playing Betty and Aqua since he has no other species closer to his age. Stoick and Gobber were there as well, waiting for them. Kishi, in Mors's form, came back with Dagur and a village elder of the Berserkers.

"Glad you can make it, Dagur." Stoick said, watching as the Berserker chief coming in.

"Kishi told me when he came. And I knew I should bring our village elder, Haldor." Dagur said, gesturing the old man coming their way. "Everyone, this is Elder Haldor. He's the oldest and wisest Berserker in the island."

Haldor bowed at them. "Greetings. I believe that we are someone to talk to?"

Stoick nodded and gestured to them to follow. They entered the academy and saw some tables and chairs. Heather was sitting on a chair with Hiccup and Astrid by her side. Stoker was leaning on the wall, far from the humans with Melody and Harmony, and Zale, who was playing with Betty and Aqua.

Haldor sits in front of Heather with Dagur by his side while the both look at Heather. Haldor knew that she was Oswald's daughter. He remembered the day she was born and how she was the precious child that Oswald cared for.

"I take it that you have many questions that you want answers to?" Haldor asked her.

Heather nodded at him. "Yes, I want to know about my dad, what happened to him, and why does Edgar want me dead?"

"Amen!" Tuff yelled, earning a glare from Stoick. "Shutting up!"

Haldor sighs and looks at her softly. "Heather, there was a reason why your father gave you up." He explains. "He wanted you safe and away from Edgar."

"But why?" Heather asked almost in a whisper.

"Years ago, before you and your brother were born, Edgar used to be a Berserker." Haldor explains, earning gasps from the riders and Dagur, "He left the clan years ago after Oswald married your mother."

"Our mother?" Heather asked, eager wanting to know more.

"Yes, they both fell in love with a beautiful shieldmaiden, Heather's and Dagur's mother, Riala. Riala was a fierce warrior, no one danger challenged her." Haldor explains.

"I can see where they get their strong personality from." X said softly, earning a nudge from Mira.

Haldor chuckled by X's comment. "True, Riala is strong and stubborn, not giving up without a fight. Oswald and Edgar both wanted her, but sadly for Edgar, Riala loved Oswald because of his wisdom and heart."

"It looks like the tough lady likes gentle guys, am I right?" Tuff jokes, earning a bonk on the head from Gobber. "OW!"

"Edgar wasn't too pleased that Riala was in love with Oswald. When she and your father got married and had you two, Edgar left Berserker Island and married the chief's daughter in the Insanity clan. You see, unlike other clans, the Insanity's chief must be males and that is why Edgar married the former Insanity's Chief's daughter."

"And had a daughter named Mia that disappeared." Dagur added.

"Disappeared?" Heather asked him.

"Edgar's daughter, Mia, disappeared when he tried to force her to marry Dagur." Haldor explains while Dagur added 'Don't ask why', "But when you turned two years olf Riala got sick, very sick."

"Sick?" Heather asked, almost sounded heartbroken.

"Mom was fighting a deadly disease, the village healers couldn't find a cure for her and she was...dying." Dagur said, remembering how their mother was laying on her deathbed.

Heather's heart shattered, not knowing that her mother died when she was young. "When she died, Edgar found out of her death and blamed Oswald for her death. He thinks that your father didn't save her and just let her die."

"That's crazy!" Astrid exclaims. "He can't blame him for what had happened to Riala?!"

"Oh, he can. For you see, he was still in love with her. He threatened Oswald that he would take Heather away from him as if he wanted him to suffer after Riala's death." Haldor explains. "Fearing for your life, your father had sent me to take you to a new family, where you can be safe."

"You? You're the old man that my adoptive parents told me about?" Heather asked in shock.

Haldor nodded. "Yes, I was the old man that gave you to them. I told them that you are an orphan child, that your parents died in a terrible shipwreck. They couldn't have children on their own, so they adopted you and raised you as their child."

Heather smiles, remembering how her adoptive parents took care of her. "Upon my return, Oswald announced that you have 'died' by the same sickness that killed your mother, that way, Edgar couldn't find you." He explains.

"Did you know about this?" Heather asked Dagur.

Dagur nodded. "I did, but father told me not to tell anyone that you are not dead. Otherwise, Edgar will hunt you down." He explains almost sadly.

"It is true, Oswald, me, and Dagur vowed to keep it a secret about Heather's whereabouts. But we were proven wrong as Edgar must've known that Heather is not dead, but alive. That's why he destroyed your island and your people, trying to get you."

Heather looks at the horn in her hand and clutches it. "All this time...I didn't know that my family was protecting me." She whispers as Astrid places a gentle hand on her shoulder. Heather looks at the two Berserkers. "Do you know where dad is?"

Haldor and Dagur looked at each other and then to Heather. "No, I don't know what happened to him." Halord explains.

"What do you mean?"

"When Oswald left for the Great Gathering of Chieftains, he never returned. The villagers believed that he had died at sea by a dragon. No one has seen or heard of him in years." Haldor explains sadly.

Heather was silent, not sure what to ask next. However, Snotlout butts in and asks. "Why didn't he take Dagur and not Heather? I mean, he's the Berserker chief!"

"True, but there was a time that Edgar learned the hard way." Haldor explains.

"Why's that?" Dagur asked the elder.

"When he tried to grab you as a child, you nearly bit off his fingers." Haldor reminded him.

Dagur rubs his chin. "Oh, yeah...I always wonder why my old baby teethes have some dry blood on them."

Some of the crew shivered in disgust by this while Haldor simply rolled his eyes and looked at Heather. "If you need to know more, just ask me."

"Thank you, but...I think I should leave for a while." Heather said to him sadly.

Hearing this, the gang looked at her in shock. "You're leaving. Again? I thought you were tired of being alone." Astrid said, not wanting her friend to leave.

"I am. I just...I just have a lot I need to figure out." Heather said.

"I know this is a lot to take in. And if you need to clear your thoughts, that's fine." Halord said.

"And if you come by Berserker Island, we will welcome you with open arms!" Dagur said, spreading his arms before rubbing his chin. "But you have to fight your way in to prove yourself and we have to remind everyone that you're not really dead and-"

"They get it Dagur." X said with a sigh.

"Thanks, I'll think about...brother." Heather said with a small smile, causing Dagur to fumble back and almost cried, whispering.

"She called me brother…*sniffs*...I'm so proud!"

With that, everyone started to leave, Heather said her farewells to Dagur and Halord, and then Astrid and Mira. She and Windshear took while the rest went back to the Edge with Stoker, Melody, Harmony, and Zale. When they reached back to the edge, everyone went to their huts while Stoker, Melody, Harmony, and Zale stayed in a cave that was next to Mira's hut. Though as everyone slept, Mira was outside, sitting at the beach with Sapphire and Virgo. Mira couldn't stop thinking about how Heather's father did his best to keep her safe from Edgar. All because that insane chief wanted revenger.

She wonders if her birth father should've been like Heather's father, a strong yet devoted father, that tries to protect his child, instead of being a hunter that was going to sell his own family. Virgo gently nudges Mira, causing the girl to look at her. Virgo made a gentle warbel, asking if she's okay. Mira smiles and gently strokes Virgo's snout.

"I'm fine, I'm just thinking…"

"About what?" Astrid's voice came from behind.

They turned around to see Astrid and Stormfly, who sat beside the two Furies. Astrid sits beside Mira, feeling sad about Heather's departure. Mira was able to cheer her up when they got to the Edge. Astrid looks at Mira and asks.

"Were you thinking about your dad? Your...real dad?"

Mira nodded. "I just wished that he was like Heather's dad, protecting his child, instead of selling them." She said softly.

Astrid gently hugs Mira. "Don't worry, Mira. You're safe with us."

"Thanks, Astrid." Mira whispers as they look at the bright moon.

On the far side of the archipelago, Krogan was seen walking through a thick forest. His hood on as he pushes some branches away. He came to this island alone, he didn't tell his men his whereabouts since he needed something to do. The island's village was far. It's a thirty minutes walk, but his destination was somewhere else.

He reached the end and found himself near a clif. There, he saw an old abandoned house. It wasn't big, but it was fine for a simple family. He went towards the house, feeling his heart pounding in his chest heavily at the sight of the house. He opens the rooden door slowly, creating a creaking sound. Inside was a simple dining area, a fireplace, a small kitchen, and a staircase. He walked over to the table that was close to the big open window. He picks up a fallen chair and sets it up, dusting the table with his hand. He sat down on the chair, still strong and sturdy, as he looked out of the window, towards the moon.

He sighs as he takes out the chest with his family's valuables. He each sets them down, his daughter's dagger, his wife's necklace, and the picture of his family. He holds the picture in his face, looking at his beloved wife's face as she cares for his three children. He slowly sets the picture down and places a beautiful blue rose on top of it with the necklace. He's been coming here for years, one a special day that no one knows about.
