I'll do non-walker characters after this chapter (Lizzie, Mika, Tyreese, Lori, Judith, Beth, Hershel, Maggie, Glenn, etc).
Chapter 3: Penny, Walker
It comes into being somehow. It does not know what it is, nor when It came to be. It simply was there one day, opening its eyes, to be met by a bright, foul light that stung its eyes (causing it to hiss in irritation and shut them again), and then to be met by a strange type of ground beneath its feet. How did the ground get so soft? The creature only can think about nothing other than the hunger inside its belly, so it does not think on this much, if at all.
The only thing it knows is the present. There is no "time" for the walker, only food, and the quest to obtain it.
There is no food in sight, as far as it knows. It cannot smell it, or hear it. It can only sit and wait for the food to come. When that comes is a big mystery, as it seems to be prevented from getting at food. How did it come to be chained up? It wonders what a chain is, only to know that it's something that holds it back and as such, is a big hindrance to it getting the food.
The creature can only stomp its feet and growl, waiting for the food to come, whenever it does.
The hunger is eternal.
It is all the creature knows.
There is no sleep. There is no thirst.
Then, the smell of meat enters the room, and its nostrils. It can smell meat.
It sees a strange flesh creature enter the room, holding some sort of round thing, and on that is a piece of meat. Meat!
All the creature can think about is the meat.
The creature, (man)-suddenly creates some type of noise-and it can barely understand what it is saying, only that it is giving her meat. How nice. The creature didn't do anything for the flesh creature aside from try to eat it that it can remember.
It devours the food greedily, savoring the taste. It doesn't get full, but rather satisfied. It tastes good.
The flesh creature is looking at her, and it almost presumes it can recognize it somehow.
"Penny." It says, and for a second, It wonders what a "penny" is.
Then darkness again, and It is left alone again, to wonder when the next meal will be.
It doesn't mind being in the dark. It doesn't think about much.
Sometimes, it wonders if It was one of those flesh bags before It became the It that It is today.
It cannot remember much, just bits and pieces.
The flesh creature-a man, It says to itself-the man comes and brings It more food, sometimes making more noises to the Walker-It wonders if that's the term for its kind, and prefers it to that name-Penny. It is It-not a Penny.
It plays strange sounds that come out of nowhere. How did the "man" creature do that?
Do they have magical powers?
It does not know what magic is.
It only knows that It is controlled by this man-creature.
But the man-creature seems to not be afraid of it, rather he touches Its hair sometimes and makes strange noises with its mouth and It relaxes for a few moments, before again remembering that It wants more meat and snarling.
But It comes to look forward to when the man-creature comes, with his strange noises and way of speaking. Sometimes, It can understand what he is saying and other times, not.
There is another strange man-creature with strange markings on his face who comes in and looks at It with interest-It does not like this one and tries to bite this one.
Aside from that, no other visitors come.
It wonders if it has a family-other creatures like It. The man-creature tells It there are others in the strange words he reads to It.
One day, the man-creature seems to be acting different.
He doesn't bring It meat.
He instead keeps telling It to look at him-how did one look?
It growls for the meat, wondering why the flesh creature hadn't brought the meat it usually did?
It would just bite him and maybe it would get meat.
"LOOK AT ME!" He screams, and it takes the Walker aback, the Walker stops hissing, looking at the flesh creature in clear fear.
Animalistic fear takes over the creature, as it hisses defensively. It did not like that.
It thought that the man-creature cared for it.
Then the darkness came and It was suddenly in the dark once more, and some strange sound echoed, and the man creature was gone.
It found that It wanted him to come back, though why, it could not answer.
Perhaps it just wanted more meat.
Then It hears something moving.
More prey?
Light footsteps.
It is excited.
It gets up, sniffs eagerly and moves around, only to be pulled back by the awful thing that holds it here.
Get it off!
The new creature smelled sweet, juicy and of other odors that the walker did not recognize.
The new figure approaches It, speaking softly. It likes the soft voice and obeys what the new being says.
It somehow likes the attention, wondering if the new flesh creature has food, too.
When it becomes light again, it finds itself looking at a new figure that is unlike any It has ever seen. It is tall, with different hair, and its skin is a different shade from the regular flesh creatures'. How do they do that? How do they warp their skin color?
It smells all sorts of new scents on this one. Mostly flesh, but also a strange, salty smell.
It hisses, angry that it did not bring any meat for her.
The new one grabs her suddenly with its claw and holds It down as It struggles.
It suddenly wants the other flesh creature here, and it hisses, inwardly calling out a distress call.
"NO!"
The voice makes It look up.
There he is, the one It is familiar with, standing there, looking...strange.
The new figure speaks, and It struggles, wanting to get back to the other flesh-creature.
"Don't hurt her. Don't hurt my little girl, please."
What were they saying?
It cannot understand.
But all it knows is that he wants to save It from this new being.
Perhaps to give more meat to It?
Whatever the case, It wants to be set free to bite this new being.
Then suddenly, something comes through its mouth and it hurts, it burns.
Then it is on the ground, and it can feels its consciousness leaving it.
As it leaves, it hears other sounds around it.
It only thinks briefly on the flesh creature and how It...it liked having the man creature give it meat.
It is sorry that it cannot stay longer, but It must sleep.
And so It dies, as the man weeps over the cold body of his undead daughter.
It dies without understanding who it used to be.
It dies a pitiless, brutal end.
