A/N: Now we're getting things going on the right path. Starting off with mostly s1 characters, then on to season 2 and then all the way through season 10, if I get there. Currently my watch is up to s7. There's enough untold tales that it's worth talking about them.
Chapter 8 Jenny Jones
She was always the one that went in and out, in and out, looking for supplies, food, you name it. Anything to make it through the apocalypse. But of course, Morgan was always the supportive one. He was the one that made her laugh, cheered her up when she cried, helped her out when she needed it.
These days, there wasn't much to smile over anymore, and Jenny just wanted to ensure that Duane would live another day.
She'd done this dozens of times-go outside, grab food and supplies and come back.
What was it about now that made her heart pound so fast?
"Calm down," She told herself, carefully walking down the street, "You're overthinking things."
Unfortunately, her positive thinking did not stop her from being attacked by a walker.
Morgan was distraught.
"No...Jenny...what will I do without you?" He cried.
"Mom!" Duane sobbed.
"I just need to rest." She said, reassuring them.
"You're burning up!" He cried, "You're gonna be one of those things, Jenny!"
"Promise me..." She whispered, her hand clasped in his, "Promise me that you'll take your gun, Morgan-"
"I can't!"
"You have to, Morgan! You have to! When I come back and I'm like...like them, please, shoot me in the head! End my suffering! I don't want to kill anyone!" She begged.
"All...all right, honey, I will." Morgan said.
Jenny, feeling satisfied, said her goodbyes and dipped into an eternal sleep, disappearing from the world.
"Dad, are we going to shoot mom?" Duane asked.
"No, son, we're not." He said, picking up the corpse and taking it outside.
"But, Dad, she could hurt others! Mom said to-"
"I can't do it." He said later, even as her undead form stumbled towards him, snapping her jaws and trying to bite him.
She still looked so human.
Hell, when she tried the doorknob, it's like she remembered being human.
But that was absurd.
She was just a fake replacing his wife.
The walker didn't know why the flesh creature would let it go. Most of them shot her kind down dead. She was curious, that was she tried that strange gold thing that was pretty and caught her eye. When she couldn't get in to get at the food, she had left and decided to try again...whenever she got the chance.
The walker didn't know what time was. All she knew was that the dark was nice, when that big golden orb wasn't burning her eyes. It was hard to see, too.
She got her chance one day.
She saw the young one sitting downstairs, alone.
She came in, and he pointed a weapon at her, calling her a strange name.
Mom?
What is that?
All she was (and is) is a walker.
She's hungry.
And she will eat you.
"Mom, please..." He begged.
She stumbled toward him and began to eat, ignoring his cries.
She's so hungry.
She doesn't even notice when a bullet is put through her brain, nor when the struggling child is also left behind by his father to turn.
Jenny Jones is dead, and has been dead for a long time.
