Chapter 2: The Namek Who Knew Too Much

Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Dragon Ball Z, or any of the characters.

I'm back with another chapter of my story. I can not believe that it has been over two years since my last update. I'm sorry that has taking me so long to update. There has ben so much going on in my life and it was very difficult to write and update. But I'm back now and hoping that I can continue to tell my story and make up for taking so long. So without further delay here is the long awaited second chapter of my story. Hope it was worth the wait. Enjoy.

The Z Warriors had all gone their separate ways. They had to train for the upcoming threat that the two mysterious strangers had warned them of. Nonica and Piccolo follwed Goku and Gohan home. Piccolo had decided that he wanted to train with them. Nonica noticed that Piccolo was very quiet on the way to Goku's. She figured that he was perhaps thinking about the battle that was coming. Nonica had no way of knowing what was really bothering the man she loved. They soon arrived at Goku's house. Goku and Gohan went inside to see Chi Chi while Nonica and Piccolo stayed outside and allowed them to have a moment to reunite. They also didn't want to get caught in the cross fire when Goku told Chi Chi that he was going to take Gohan away from his studies for three years so he could train. Nonica looked over at Piccolo. He looked lost in thought. If only she could read his mind.

A daughter. Piccolo thought. I'm going to have a daughter. How is this possible? His mind was racing. It made no sense, but it had to be true. The girl had been completely covered up so the others couldn't see that she had pale green skin. She had been wearing his colors right down to the cape she'd been wearing. Piccolo was reeling. In a few short years he was going to be a father. The father of a half Saiyan daughter. His mind kept going back to the same thought. What kind of father could I possibly be? He, of course, had no experience with babies. He knew they cried a lot and needed a lot of care and attention but that was about the extent of his knowledge. It was frightening and Piccolo didn't know what to do or how to feel.

His train of thought was derailed when Chi Chi came crashing through the wall to the outside of the house. "Oh my God!" Nonica exclaimed. "Chi Chi, are you okay?" she scrambled to help Chi Chi up. Goku came running out the huge hole now in the side of his house.

"I'm so sorry Chi Chi. I guess I don't know my own strength." Goku said. He and Gohan helped Chi Chi back into the house and started getting her bandaged up as Goku tried to explain to Nonica and Piccolo what had happened. Apparently Goku patted Chi Chi a little too hard on her back while trying talk her into allowing Gohan to train. In the end, Chi Chi agreed as long as Gohan made some time for his studies. Goku agreed to her terms.

Chi Chi was able to make dinner and invited Nonica and Piccolo to eat with them. So they stayed. Nonica noticed that Piccolo was still very quiet, distance even. It's like he wasn't even there. Nonica tried to talk to him but he was preoccupied. He eventually walks outside. He needed to be alone to get his mind together. Nonica was a little considered that maybe she had done something wrong. Goku, who was finishing his 17th serving of food, saw the saddened expression on Nonica's face. He was fully aware that Piccolo knew things that Nonica didn't. He decided that maybe he should go talk to his friend. He got up from the table and went outside. Piccolo was standing by a tree with his turned toward the house and his arms crossed. "Hey, Piccolo, are you okay?" Goku asked

Piccolo continued to look out at nothing in particular and replied, "I have a lot on my mind, Goku."

Goku knew what he was thinking about. "Kind of got a shock today, huh? For what it's worth, she's beautiful and very strong."

"Yes. But what kind of a father can I be? I'm not exactly the most lovable person. It's still new and strange to show affection to Nonica."

Goku began to get a little worried. No one was supposed to know about Mitsu and Trunks for fear of them not being born. Now Piccolo knew about his future daughter and it sounded like he had cold feet. "You're not thinking about not having her, are you?"

Piccolo stood silent for a moment, letting Goku's question sink in. Is that what he was considering? The thought of a child of his own scared the life out of him, but could he simply not have Mitsu just because he was afraid? "I'm just worried that I'm not cut out to be a father."

"Well, it is a scary thing. But I know that Gohan cares about you and respects you very much. I think you would make a great dad."

Piccolo chuckled, not sure if putting a kid through a year of intense training was the same as actually raising a child that wasn't totally screwed up. As much as it frightened him, Piccolo knew he had to push the feelings aside and put his thoughts toward the upcoming threat. "I'll be fine. I still have a while before that time comes. Right now the priority is the androids."

"Right." Goku replied and he and Piccolo walked back into the house. Later on in the evening Nonica was ready to go home. Piccolo, of course, was going to escort her home. They said their goodbyes to the Son family and left. They flew back to Nonica's home in the mountains together. Piccolo was still so quiet and, as they approached the door of the house, Nonica could no longer take the silence. "Piccolo, are you okay? You've been so quiet ever since we met those kids and got that horrible news."

Piccolo sighed. He couldn't tell her that he was still reeling forms the news that they were going to be parents in a few short years. He decided to push the thought out of his mind for the moment and enjoy his alone time with his angel. "I'm sorry." he said, "I'm just thinking about what those kids told us."

Nonica smiled, happy that Piccolo was finally talking, and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Hey, we're going to be fine." she said, "That's why they came from the future to tell us. So we could prepare." Nonica got up on her tip toes and kissed his lips softly.

Piccolo wrapped his arms around his love and just like that the worry and fear melted away. That's what she did for him. She made him feel unstoppable. Fearless. He loved her so very much and knew that she loved him. She keeps him on the side of good and shows him about love everyday. As he looked down at Nonica, staring deep into her icy blue eyes, all he could see was her goodness and love. She had so much of it in her. Piccolo knew that she would make an amazing mother. It was in that moment that Piccolo realized that he had the potential to be a great father because Nonica would see to it. She would show him. They loved one another and this child was going to be the beautiful, living manifestation of that love. The fear of becoming a father left him completely and he decided to let things happen as they are meant to. He would go into this like he did everything else, with bravery and honor. He pulled Nonica closer to him and kissed her passionately, lifting her of the ground. He pulled away from her and said, "You are absolutely right. No matter what happens, we will face it together." He placed her feet back down on the ground. He brushed her hair away from her face and pushed it behind her ear. He told her, "And I promise that I won't let anything happen to you. I will protect you."

Nonica smiled and replied, "We'll protect each other." Piccolo smiled back at her and nodded.

They embraced each other so in love and so content. For that moment, they weren't worried about the future or what tasks were a head of them. For that precious moment in time they were just two people in love. two people that would give their own life for the other. After standing there for a while the couple pulled away and went inside the house. Nonica went upstairs to shower and change. Piccolo stayed in the living room. He removed his turban and cape and hung them up on a wooden coat hanger that Nonica insisted he use. He walked over to the couch and sat down. With his super hearing he could hear Nonica upstairs in the shower humming away without a care in the world. He smiled, so glad that she wasn't letting the news they had gotten earlier bother her too much. He soon heard the shower turn off and soft footsteps padding around on the floor. She was in her room going through the dresser drawers trying to find something comfortable to sleep in. Soon Piccolo heard is favorite sound. The sound of his angel calling out to him. He stood and started climbing the stairs to Nonica's room. When he reached the top of the stairs and entered the room the princess was standing there in a white t-shirt and a pair of shorts. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun on the top of her head. She was absolutely beautiful to the man standing in front of her. She walked over to her t.v. and turned it on and turned off the lights. She then walked over to the bed, pulled back the comforter and sheet, and got in. Nonica looked over at Piccolo and patted the spot next to her. He walked over to the bed and climbed in beside her. He sat upright with his back propped against the headboard. Nonica slid over and cuddled close to him. He put his arm around her and softly stroked her arm. She loved his touch and sighed contently. She loved the nghts that he would stay and lay in bed with her. He still wasn't use to laying in a bed so he would sit upright. It was just a hard habit to break Nonica figured. She didn't care. Piccolo had already made so many changes about his life for her, so if he didn't want to lay in a bed and instead wanted to sit up and hold her, then she was content. The two just lay there together. They weren't even paying attention to the t.v. They were just enjoying each other's presence. It had been a long day, some of it good and some of it not so good, and wasn't long before the couple fell asleep. They would need their rest because the next day would be the beginning of the long three years of training for the coming battle for the earth with the andriods.

And the countdown begins...

The Z Warriors are making preparations. The sands of time have begun to pour against the Earth and its people. Will the Z Warriors be able to defeat these androids? Will Piccolo be able to keep his doubts about being a father away? Will the knowledge of their future affect Nonica and Piccolo? Found out next time in the next edition of The Princess of Saiyans Pt. 2
