Chapter 5: Body Snatcher On The Loose

Hello again everyone! I'm back again with another chapter. Thanks so much to everyone who has been reading this story. I don't have too much to say so let's go ahead and get into it!

There is nothing but darkness all around. It made no difference which direction Nonica looked it was all the same. Dark. Black. Frightening. The only thing worse than the darkness was the silence. It was so quiet that it made her ears ring. Nonica didn't want to be here. She wanted to be in charge of her own body. Here she had no idea what that witch, sorceress, whatever, was doing. Where was Davina with Nonica's body right now? Has she left and gone back to Otherworld yet? There had to be some way to know. This is Nonica's mind. There must be something she can do. Nonica took a deep breath through her nose. She let it out through her mouth and relaxed her body. She closed her eyes and began to concentrate. She focused her mind until the binds holding her fell away and she was free. Nonica rubbed her sore wrists, chuckled quietly to herself about how her wrists could be sore inside her mind, and began to look around. Darkness still surrounded her. Again she relaxed her body and closed her eyes and began to focus. She needed to know what was going on in the world around her body. She needed to know where Davina had taken her and what she was now up to. Most importantly, Nonica needed to figure out how to regain control of her body and get this witch out of her.

Meanwhile, in the real world…..

Davina had been watching Nonica for quite some time. She had studied her. The way she talked, the way she walked, the way she trained, her entire life had been scrutinized by Davina. She wanted to know as much about her prey as possible. She loved Nonica's strength and her power. She loved that Nonica was a Saiyan and a royal. She loved that Nonica was beautiful and curvy. The sorceress thought that Nonica's body would be the perfect vessel for her take-over. Davina made her way back to Nonica's home. She entered the house and went straight upstairs to Nonica's room. The room was beautiful. There were light gray walls and white carpets. The bed was large with a canopy and lots of pillows. Davina walked across the room over to the large french doors that led out onto a balcony that overlooked the beautiful mountainside. She opened the doors, stepped outside, and looked out at the gorgeous view. "I guess it pays to be the daughter of god." Davina giggled to herself. The sun was beginning to set over the mountains. The sky was bursting with oranges and yellows and reds. The scene was breathtaking. "You never see things like this in Otherworld," Davina said. She stood on the balcony a few minutes more and then walked back inside. There was a gold-colored full-length mirror standing in the corner. Davina walked over and began to look at her ill-gotten Nonica costume in the mirror. She spun around to look at herself from every angle. She ran her fingers through her long brown hair. "Marvelous," she murmured her approval once again.

A sound rang out into the quiet of the house. Nonica's phone was ringing. Davina looked at the phone, uncertain about whether or not she should answer it. It continued to ring…..and ring….and ring…and ring.

"UGH! FINE!" Davina barked and snatched the phone from its cradle. She took a deep breath, exhaled, cleared her throat, put on her most Nonica smile, and said, "Hello"

"Hey, girl! It's Bulma. What's going on? How have you been?"

"Bulma," Davina replied. Which one was Bulma again? Davina had only seen Nonica around two other women regularly. One was an ever-grumpy woman with black hair she wore in a bun on top of her head. The other was an energetic woman with blue hair and a rather high opinion of herself. Davina never did learn their names though. She did know that the grumpy one was married to that Goku guy Nonica sometimes trained with. Bulma must be the one with blue hair. Davina continued, "I'm doing well. How about you?"

"Good. Bored. I was wondering if you would maybe want to take a break from training so much and go out with me tonight. I am desperate for a Girl's Night"

Davina had intended to get back to Otherworld and began the next phase in her plan to take over, but she wondered what other things Planet Earth had to offer. Surely there was no harm in prolonging her return and seeing some sights. She would also be extending the courtesy of saying goodbye to all of Nonica's friends. How generous of Davina for being so considerate. Davina smiled and answered, "Sure! That sounds like fun!"

"Awesome! I will go and get you in a couple of hours. Be ready." With that, Bulma hung up. Davina placed the phone back on the cradle and proceeded to walk out of Nonica's room and into her bathroom to get ready for her night on the town.

It had gotten dark when Bulma knocked at the front door of Nonica's house. She was so excited to see her friend after so long. Nonica had been so preoccupied with training and meditating that Bulma hadn't seen her in months. She knew that being ready for the upcoming battle with the androids was really important but so was having a social life: all work and no play and all that jazz.

Davina came down the stairs and took one last look at herself in a mirror that was hanging on the wall. The sorceress had raided Nonica's closet and picked out a simple little black dress and heels. The dress was strapless, form-fitting, and came down to just above the knee. Davina wore Nonica's hair down with minimal makeup. Just a modest winged eyeliner look that made her icy blue eyes pop. Davina kept her look for the evening very low-key so as to not raise any suspicions. "This girl seriously needs to get a fashion sense," Davina murmured, unimpressed with her findings in Nonica's closet.

Nonica sat with her legs crisscrossed. She was still concentrating on trying to once again take control of her body or, at the very least, her mind. She began to feel things stir inside her. Soon, she began to see a flicker. Nonica opened her eyes and could see a wall in front of her start to flicker and then flash as if it were a large tv being turned on. A few moments later, Nonica could see herself. She was in her house standing in front of the mirror she had hanging near the front door of her house. "I'm looking through my eyes," Nonica exclaimed. She had been able to gain some access to her eyes and could now see what Davina was seeing. A smirk made its way across her lips and she closed her eyes again.

Davina looked into the mirror smoothing her hair and checking her makeup. "Where the hell do you think you're going"

Davina yelped and jumped back from the mirror as her reflection spoke to her. "What the hell?" She was stunned and confused. She closed her eyes tightly, opened them again, and blink a few times as if trying to get them to reset.

But it happened again. "You heard me. Where do you think you're going with my body?"

Davina sigh with relief and giggled. "Nonica. It's you. How clever of you. Making me hallucinate. How fun."

"Give me back control of my body and get the hell out." the reflection of Nonica said.

There was another knock at the door. "Nonica! You there? I'm here" Bulma called out from outside the front door.

Davina looked in the mirror. "Hold that thought," she said, turned to the door, and opened it up to find the woman with blue hair standing on the porch outside. "Thank goodness," Davina thought, "not the grumpy, black-haired woman." Davina plastered a smile on her face and said to Bulma, "Hi! Sorry, I was upstairs. I'm almost ready and I'll be right back down."

"Awesome! I'll just go wait in the aircraft. Just hurry. I'm ready to get this party started." Bulma replied.

"Ok. I'll be right back," Davina said as she closed the door and went back upstairs to stand in front of the full-length mirror in Nonica's bedroom. "Now, what is your problem?" she asked her very irritated reflection.

Nonica gapped. The audacity of this witch. She replies, "Bitch, I want my body back and for you to not be in it. I do not have time for this. I'm training to help my friends in a very important battle. My planet is in danger. My friends' lives are in danger. Now, get the hell out of here and go back to hell where you came from."

Davina rolled her eyes. "I know all about the androids. I've had plenty of time to go through your thoughts. It's an absolute mess in there, by the way. It doesn't matter, we won't be here. And I am not from hell. I'm from Otherworld. Hell is located in a completely different place. As Kami's daughter, I would think you would know that."

"I have to be here! They need me!"

Davina scoffed, "Is that really what you think? Do you honestly think that the fate of the world is really going to come down to one pacifistic Saiyan princess? That boy came back to the past to talk to Goku, not you. He obviously believes that Goku is going to be the one to save the world. Besides that, there's also Vegeta and your honey bunny, Piccolo. They've got this, girl. So, don't worry so much."

Nonica was dumbfounded. She was speechless. Was she that insignificant that her absence wouldn't matter? No! That couldn't be true. She knew that she wasn't battle-hungry like Vegeta or Goku but she was still a great and powerful fighter. Her absence would be missed. Even if there was no battle to train for she was still loved. She had her friends, she had her father and Mr. Popo, and she had Piccolo. They would be heartbroken if she were gone, wouldn't they? Of course, they would. She shook her head, "No," she said, "they need me. I have to be here. I have to fight. Even if I die, I need to be here."

Davina just shrugged her shoulders, "Well, you're not going to be. Get over it. Get used to the idea. And get out of my mirror. I'm going out with your friend. Be grateful that I'm granting you the gift of a 'goodbye'." With that, Nonica's grip slipped and she faded back into her mind. The reflection went back to normal. The hallucination was over. Davina smirked, turned toward the door, and walked out. She was going to go out on the town and was not about to let Nonica rain on her parade.

Nonica flopped down onto the floor in frustration. She wanted her body back. She did not want to leave Earth or this realm for that matter. She was so worried about what Davina had planned with her body. Davina had said she was granting Nonica "the gift of a goodbye". What the hell did that mean? Was she going to go see her friends? Tell them she was leaving. Was she going to see Piccolo? The thought of that sorceress going anywhere near her Piccolo made her Saiyan blood boil. Would Piccolo even know that Nonica wasn't Nonica? She had to get out of here and fast.

Davina, all dolled up in her Nonica costume, walked out of the house and up to Bulma's aircraft. She was genuinely excited about getting to go out and experience life in a place besides Otherworld.

"Hey, girlie! So good to see you," Bulma exclaimed as Davina opened the door, "it's been way too long since we've hung out together. All this training you've been doing lately."

Davina smirked at Bulma. She got a kick out of the fact that Bulma had no clue that it wasn't her dear friend, Nonica, she was talking to. "I know! I've been so busy that I've not really had time for anything else. I really needed this. Thank you." she said. The wicked sorceress had spent so much time watching and studying Nonica that she had her behavior down almost to a science.

"Don't mention it! I need this just as much as you do." Bulma started the aircraft and soon the two were off and on their way to a night of fun.

The ladies had been so caught up in taking off and having fun that neither of them was aware of the figure that had been lurking in the darkness just on the edge of the woods outside of Nonica's house. "Dammit! I didn't get here in time. I have to figure out how to stop her before it's too late!" said the figure in the woods.

Will Davina ever be found out? Will Nonica be able to break free? Who is this mysterious figure slinking in the woods? Find out next time in Chapter 6!
