Chapter 35: Choked
What if Becky had stood up to Drago when he was choking Eret?
Takes place during HTTYD2.
Has some similarities to GuardianDragon98's fanfic when Drago choked Zenna...sorry!
"Turns out, there's a whole bunch of them out there. They -"
Drago suddenly stops Eret and seizes him by the throat and two of Drago's men try to hold me back as I try to get to Eret.
I break free of their grasps and get to Eret.
"Love, it's fine...don't."
"It's not okay, Eret. He has no right to -"
Drago suddenly lets go of Eret and grabs me by the throat.
(Eret's POV)
She's getting paler by the minute. She'll turn blue if I don't do something. Why am I just kneeling here, powerless? I should do something.
"DRAGO! Let! Her! Go!"
It's a voice I don't recognize, but then it hits me. It's me.
"Or what?"
"Please, Drago, kill me instead. She doesn't deserve this."
"Get rid of him after she's gone."
"NO!"
It's not me. It's Ruffnut, Becky's sister.
"Leave my sister alone!" Ruffnut says, charging at Drago.
He drops Becky and I rush to her. She's struggling to breathe. I take her in my arms.
"Baby, baby, look at me. Look at me. I'm right here. I'm right here."
She goes silent. No...please no. I don't know what to do.
"Untie me! I know what to do." Ruffnut tells me. I untie her. She takes Becky from me as she begins performing some kind of...thing...on her. Ruffnut's hands are pressing down on Becky's chest.
"Come on, sis! Breathe! You have to live!"
Tuffnut comes over to us and we exchange a look. They'd just gotten their sister back, only to lose her again.
I hear coughing.
"She's okay. She's okay." Ruffnut sits back, as breathless as her sister once was.
"Good job, sis." Tuffnut tells his twin.
"Thank you, Ruffnut. For bringing my Becky back to me...to us."
"You're welcome." I hug Ruffnut. I feel like I owe her at least that.
"E-Eret." I go over to my wife, leaving a love-struck Ruffnut behind. I'm hoping she'll get over the crush she has on me, if not for my sake, for her sister's.
"Eret's here, love. I'm here. I promise. We'll get out of this." I cradle my wife in my arms.
"I'm sorry..."
"Shhh. Darling, you've done nothing wrong. Sure, you tried to stand up to a madman, but you're so brave, you know that?"
"Yeah, brave and stupid."
"Alright, I'll give you that."
My wife smirks at me and I kiss her forehead before we're once again forced apart.
Since then, I've thanked the gods every day that she's alive. Alive and free. And with me.
I don't know where I'd be without her, and that scares me, just as much as it scares me that I don't know where she'd be without me.
