Hello, mates! So I am a sappy mother fucker so I decided to so the same with this pairing :3
I hope you guys enjoy it! Much love to ya!
I swallowed hard as I tried to make my anxious mess of a brain seem less of a mess next to my fellow psychic. Despite the fact of my brain was that of a tank or not, I was trying my hardest to make my anxiety unnoticeable by the girl beside me.
My sister would always gush at the idea of her potential boyfriends and things giving her their jackets and things, but I never really saw the appeal of it. It was just a jacket. Nothing major, right?
I glanced out of my eye as Lili and I walked next to one another through the Questionable Area? and back toward the Motherlobe. My jacket covered most of her torso as she wrapped her arms around herself with a shutter.
Everything major. Everything. Major. Ever.
I felt a blush take over my face as Lili gave me a curious look. My only response to her was a lopsided smile before scratching my neck nervously and snapping my attention toward me again.
When it comes to the cold, I never really minded it. Having to perform in a little leotard no matter the weather outside of our littler performance areas, dome or not, helped with that. Lili though didn't seem to be used to it as my family easily was able to stay out in the night cold for hours on end after Lili first met them as the fellow psychic was shivering near the fireplace she lit.
"Are you okay there, Raz?"
"Okay?" I gave her a confused look as I realized my response from earlier must have been weird. "Oh, totally I'm okay. Are you? How's the jacket keeping ya?"
"It's been keeping me warm if that's what you're asking." She gave me a smooth smirk that caused a skip to my heartbeat that was already slamming against my ribcage.
"Good, good." I blushed shamelessly as I reached up and scratched the back of my neck again anxiously. "Enjoy the circus that is my family?" I tried my best to change the subject as Lili just laughed a little in reply.
"Well, can say their profession is fitting." She gave me a cheeky smile adjusted my jacket sleeves on her arms. The length of them being a little much for the slightly smaller girl. "Obvious they care though. In their own weird ways. Dion can suck a dick-on though." I learned choked on my sudden laughter as a disgusted look took over Lili's face. "I'm serious! I could read his thoughts with ease and the way he thinks of you makes me want to burn him enough with my pyrokinesis to the point he'll heal and I can burn him again." She huffed as she tightened her arms around her more. "Big asshole. Opinion finished."
"He can be a bit of a bully, yeah." I chuckled as I scratched the back of my neck once more. Now making it obvious it was a nervous habit. "He cares too. If you dig down deep enough."
"Yeah," Lili grumbled as it was obvious she genuinely agreed. "Still a dick though."
"And I don't blame your opinion." I smiled as I placed a hand on her shoulder. The movement had me remember once more that she was wearing my jacket which caused my mind to go on the fritz again.
Cute. Cute. Did I say cute? Cause cute.
I shook my head a little which caused Lili to give me a confused look once more.
I have been through a lot mentally. Dealing with butcher dads and my own demons being a small tiny slice of the metaphorical pie there. That small amount being enough to break some of the strongest-willed people in the world.
But my kind-of girlfriend in my favorite jacket? Yep, that's what ruins me. I tap out. I'm finished.
"Are you sure you're okay? You seem a bit out of it once it got dark." Her eyes were full of worry as she unwrapped one of her arms from around her and place her hand on top of mine that was still resting on her shoulder. "You're making me seriously worried now, Aquato."
"I'm alright. Nothing to worry about, Lils."
"Promise?" She gave a threatening look that would make anyone else fearful as she made it her mission to try and be assertive. It was obvious to me though that she was truly worried. Using her threatening demeanor as a guard to not show too deeply how much she was worried. I gave her a soft smile at the thought though and nodded my head with ease.
"I promise." My smile widened just a bit more as I felt her squeeze my hand as a reassurance to know I spoke the truth. "Hey, if I was lying and you found out, then you have every right to knock some sense into me."
"I'll keep you to your word there then." She smirked as kept her grip on my hand, but moved them so that they were dangling beside us instead of just on her shoulder. Making quick work to intertwine our fingertips instead of just letting them hang there. "But I know you're a person of your word. Wouldn't be your girlfriend if I didn't trust you anyway." She kept her eyes forward as she said the last bit and I was quite thankful that she did as I melted at her actions as well as her words. My knees nearly buckled as I tried my best to make it so none of it mess with me.
She's called herself my girlfriend twice now. That means official, right? Like official official?
"Stop being a panicking mess and hold my hand right, stupid." My eyes went wide as I saw a knowing look glance in my direction as Lili just squeezed my hand reassuringly.
She knew then, huh? Being able to read my mind or not.
I swallowed dryly as I squeezed her hand softly back. Readjusting my hand so I was actually grasping onto hers the way I figured I was supposed to.
"Sorry," I muttered the word sheepishly before being nudged into my side jokingly.
"Nothing to be sorry about. But you should be just a little more comfortable around your girlfriend." She turned her attention toward me a little more as a wide smile reached her lips. "Makes me feel as if I'm more something you're afraid of instead of someone you're interested in."
"I got a little bit I gotta get used to." I reached up with my free hand to scratch the back of my neck, again, as she just giggled in reply.
"Take all the time you need, Aquato. I'm not going anywhere on ya." I smiled softly at the thought as I squeezed her hand just the slightest. Our two figures finally exiting the Questionable Area? as we now stepped foot into the parking lot.
And that is something I look forward to.
