Chapter 41: Nightmares

Takes place after The Past's Future Is Present, and Eret is on a fishing trip with his dad, and Ruffnut and Tuffnut are staying with Becky to keep her company, just before the Suicidal chapter.

"Sis...sis…sis!"

I bolt up, panting, looking around to see my brother and sister at either side of my bed, looking at me with concern.

"Becky, you okay? You were whisper-screaming in your sleep." My brother asks me.

"I-it was him. He was hurting me. Over and over and over again."

"You're okay, sis. He's gone and he's not coming back." Ruffnut says.

"Ruffnut, you don't know that. I'm sorry, but you really don't."

"Sweetheart, it's not your fault. It's okay. We…we'll make sure he doesn't hurt you again."

"That's what scares me, Tuffnut. You guys getting hurt or even killed because of me."

"It's still pretty early, do you want to try to go back to sleep or do you want to talk about it more?"

"No…I think I'll be okay."

"Alright. We'll be downstairs if you need us, sis."

"Thanks."

I soon head back to sleep, only to have another nightmare.

I'm on his ship with the others.

He comes towards me, only to stop at my brother and sister, and thrusts his bullhook into the both of them. I scream. He does the same to Eret, and I scream once again.

My brother and sister rise up as zombies.

"Becky…join us…"

I back away from them, only to hit a wall.

I bolt awake and burst into tears. My sister is immediately at my side and she holds me.

"You're okay, sweetheart. You're okay. It was just a bad dream."

Ruffnut tells me to scoot over so she can properly hold me.

I only sob in her arms.

I can't do this anymore. I just can't.

So I relish being held by my sister one last time.

Once I'm sure Ruffnut is asleep, I sneak downstairs and out the door, not noticing that both Ruff and Tuff are now awake and are watching me with worry.

I head to the Great Hall and hide, looking out at the world one final time.

Once everyone is inside the Great Hall for breakfast, I make my way to the top of the Great Hall, and prepare to jump.

Then Mom spots me.
