"So wait," AJ says. "We came all this way for there to be... nothin'? No one needs anythin'? There isn't even, like, a Geckomon attackin' some village or something?" He's not the only one staring on incredulously at this, not quite buying it. It's too easy, too simple. Nothing is ever this easy in the Digiworld. It's just plainly not adding up in the slightest, and even Luke looks uncertain and a bit confused as he tries to make sense of this situation, for both himself and the Digidestined.

"Apparently not," Luke informs them. "I thought there was something earlier but apparently it resolved on its own. I apologize for calling you away from your holidays. Please forgive me and go home, be with your families. If I am alerted to something else, I will call for you once more."

"Fantastic," Miz mumbles, turning to leave with the rest of the Smackdown digidestined. "Can't believe that guy, his stuff would just have to glitch like this on Christmas of all things. Unbelievable."

"Stop complaining, Miz, at least he owned up to it and let us go with only a little time lost. Trust me, it could've been a lot worse,," Shane says, and Mike immediately turns to look at him, starry eyed.

"Right of course, co-bestie!" he chirps, ignoring the flash of frustration that crosses Shane's face as they troop together towards the portal to go back to Earth.

"Miz, please," he mumbles, regretting his choice to take Mike's place in the tournament all of those weeks ago more and more with each passing day, before holding his digivice out to get lost in the stream of data that will send them back home, eager to forgot about Mike's obsession for a few days at least while he enjoys the holidays with his families..

They're all so lost in thought about what they're missing with their families, or over the ridiculous drama between Miz and Shane, that no one notices the sharp flash of power as something sinks into AJ's digivice, the man shaking his head and rolling his eyes at Mike's obsessiveness towards Shane before he holds his digivice out to the portal and closes his eyes as he's swept away into the data field to return to wrapping gifts and keeping his kids calm while they all wait eagerly for Santa to arrive with his gifts.

Only Aiden thinks he sees something, but no one listens to him since his Night in Minneapolis claims and when he tries to get someone's attention- Xavier's, or maybe even Shinsuke's, they both brush him off and urge him to go through so they can all be done with this trip sooner rather than later. He glowers at them for ignoring him but turns and leaves without looking back. It's their funerals, he decides, disgusted and frustrated with the entire situation that just keeps getting worse and worse since his bad decisions last fall.
