Ariya adjusts his shirt and glances around the Digiworld through his tinted sunglasses. "This world is wild," he tells his partner, the little guy never quite finding the need to evolve past his baby form, content to sit in the crook of Ariya's arm and just observe everything going on around him. "So much danger and pain. It's a wonder anyone survives here for very long." He chucks Puttimon under what he thinks might be the little guy's chin and laughs when Puttimon makes a face at him, making soft, annoyed noises as he hops away from his touch.
His least favorite part of these trips is when someone- usually Seth- pulls out his digivice and examines it, face lighting up. "There's a village north of us that needs our help," Ariya starts to mouth along with Seth's standard comments around situations like this, already exhausted and exasperated with this trip to the Digiworld. As far as he's seen only a handful of creatures come out to chatter and thank them after each fight that leaves him wondering if maybe the creatures left behind have become dependent on the Digidestined and they're not actually helping the Digiworld. It just feels like such a waste to him. He wonders if there's a better way to handle such matters, but can never find a way to suggest anything to Luke or Seth, they're always so busy going from fight to fight.
Ariya is turning to leave them to it, keep ahold of Puttimon and go find somewhere nice and safe until everything is wrapped up,, when something hard rattles against the ground and a lightning bolt spreads so close that it almost strikes them, the sick smell of burning overwhelming him. He looks over to find a huge beast, that looks like a water creature with huge spikes forming out of his shell, a large hammer in hand. "Zudomon," he mumbles, glancing down at his digivice as it flashes the name at him, Seth already droning on with what information about the creature is at the ready for them.
As always, Ariya keeps a few feet back, overseeing as everyone else fights. Seadramon is taken out with the force of the beast's hammer, and before Ariya can even accept what's happening before him, lightning is streaking this way and that, only missing him because he's pressed back in a small cavern off to the side, holding his breath and hoping it'd end soon. Where are the others?! he thinks desperately, panic welling up in his chest, as everything falls very quiet, very still.
His eyes widen when Zudomon lands before him, turning his head to stare at him with cold, frenzied eyes. "No," Ariya breathes out, trapped in among the stones right now as Zudomon lifts his hammer once more, a dark laugh bursting from his lips as he swings right at Ariya's head. "Please..."
He's so sure he's going to die, right here, right now, that it's a shock when he opens his eyes to find that he's not. That a bright light is pouring from his digivice, tearing through Zudomon's body and leaving only scattered data in its wake. The digimon screams out in pain, dropping his hammer, and Ariya watches, wide eyed, as he stumbles back and collapses to his knees, the force from Ariya's digivice still eating away at him until finally he deletes right then and there.
As the others regroup and whisper about what happened, Ariya stares down at his digivice, suddenly scared. "What the hell just happened..."
