The famed hero of the Citadel, Commander Shephard, stared down at the planet below with a doubtful gaze.

"This much firepower for this dinky rock?" He asked, eyebrows raised. "This planet hasn't even reached the industrial age…"

"Do not be fooled." His companion, the former apprentice of Darth Vader Starkiller said, his arms crossed. "The strongest in the universe are currently on that planet."

"Well, they won't be after this blast." Shephard commented. Each and every ship in the Armada had been armed with a highly specialized charge beam blaster. One would be enough to demolish an entire city, but with an entire fleet nothing on the planet would survive. Once the order was given, the entire planet would be space dust.

"Fire!"

And there it was. Shephard raised his hand.

"Fire!" He repeated.

His marksman pressed a button. Their ship fired off their shot, as did all those surrounding them. Shepard watched, smiling, as the beams descended onto the planet.

His smile disappeared as a bright light surrounded the entire planet. A glowing aura burst forth, and hundreds of little star shaped creatures began bursting from it, racing towards the blasts of energy.

"What… what are those?"

"Lumas." Starkiller said, immediately. "The creatures that stars are born from."

The Lumas swirled around the planet, and before Shephards eyes transformed themselves into an impenetrable, clear barrier. The blasts from the ships bounced harmlessly off of it, disappeared into thin air without even a scratch to the energy.

The light began to fade, and Shephard felt his breath hitch in his throat.

Standing there, in the depths of space, bigger than the planet itself, was a giant of a woman. She stared at them with a single blue eye, taking in their fleet.

"What is the meaning of this?" Rosalina asked, twisting the wand in her hand wryly. "Why go to such lengths to attack this planet?"

She seemed unsure of which ship housed their leader. She looked between all of them, as if expecting an answer. When she did not get it she raised her wand.

"I will see to it that each and every one of you suffer from what you have done here today." She said. "This planet is at Peace; it's inhabitants have built an ideal world. I will not allow you to harm them, for your own selfish ends."

"Prepare yourself." Shephard said grimly. "Until we defeat her, we are not touching that planet."

Ridley smirked as his eyes fell down onto the deck of the Galleon.

"You assembled one of the greatest fleets in intergalactic history." He said. "Only to be foiled by a single girl." He brandished his teeth in a vicious smile.

The Tiger got to its feet. It was a gigantic thing, perhaps twenty to twenty two feet tall. It towered above the rest of the beings on the Galleon.

"And yet this planet is still under subjugation." He said. "The Forces that have touched down on this planet will easily overwhelm you."

"Are you quite sure about that?" Ridley asked, his tail raised threateningly. "Do you have any idea just who you are dealing with?"

The Tiger grimaced. Behind him, the girl with the staff spun in place, and vanished.

"Your assault is doomed to fail." Ridley said. "You don't truly believe that you can win, can you?"

"Win?" The Tiger repeated. "As long as I see my enemies defeated, I do not care whether or not this army succeeds today. All I care about is retaking my place."

Ridley roared, and the two charged at each other, teeth and claws flying.

Banjo stood tall, Kazooie's head grasped firmly in his claws. He brandished her in front of him, preparing to fire another volley of eggs at his enemies.

"That isn't going to work, buddy." Spyro the Dragon snorted, looking very pleased with himself, as he lumbered over to the bear. Over the past twenty years, Spyro had grown into a mighty, powerful fully grown dragon. His fire breath had become hot enough to melt steel, and his scales had hardened to become almost impenetrable.

Banjo took a step back, Kazooie grimaced.

"Come on, Banjo!" She snapped. "Think of something!"

The Dragon advanced on them, leering down at them threateningly.

"Is this the best that the Smash Bros have to offer?" He asked. "Is there no one powerful enough to challenge me!"

"UGHUGHUGHUGHUGH."

Spyro turned to see the fist of a giant gorilla slamming into his face. His neck snapped backwards by the blow as he fell backwards, rolling along the ground knocking down trees.

Banjo stared up in awe at the new arrival.

"Chunky Kong!"

The great gorilla beat its chest again, looking rather pleased with himself. Behind him five more Kongs came up from behind him, brandishing wooden coconut guns and peanut Popguns.

"Diddy!" Banjo exclaimed, as the familiar face of his old friend came into view. Diddy grinned as he leapt up to him.

"Banjo!" He called. "You doing alright?"

The other four Kongs, Dixie, Tiny, Lanky, and Kiddy came from behind him. They circled the perimeter professionally. Kiddy Kong, like Spyro, had grown a lot since he had last appeared in a game. He towered over the others.

"We're fine." Banjo said.

"No thanks to you lot." Kazooie said, immediately. "We had it well in hand."

"Didn't look that way to me." Diddy said, unphased, as he prodded Kazooie's beak. She snapped at him angrily, and he just laughed. "Was that Spyro the Dragon?"

"I think so." Banjo said, his brow furrowed.

"Yeah, that would make sense." Diddy said, his voice casual. "We just took out Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Crash Bandicoot… Lots of our old enemies seem to have come here." His tone was light, but it somehow sounded bitter, too."

"But none of those people have anything to do with each other." Banjo said, anxiously. "How could they have come here? And found us?"

"We don't know." Diddy said, his voice grim. "But we're going to look into it."

The Kongs all nodded, looking determined.

"Want to join the family, guys?" Diddy asked. "Just for the day, of course."

"Yes!" Banjo said, immediately. "We would love too."

"Just don't touch my beak again, Diddy." Kazooie said. "Or you will get shot."

Diddy just laughed again and turned away.

Ness swung the bat with incredible force. It caught the machine square in the face, sending sparks flying. He kicked out at it and sent it tumbling lifelessly to the ground.

"How many are there?" He asked Paula. She shook her head, grimly.

"I can't tell…" She said. "There are so many." Ness grimaced. They had taken on the whole world before, but this seemed somehow beyond even that.

"Can you reach Jeff? Or Poo?"

"I can't." She said, her voice sad. "I'm sorry."

He smiled and shook his head.

"Lucas?" He asked. "Can you tell where he is?"

She closed her eyes.

"He's not far…" She said slowly. "But…"

"Ah, hello, fellow psychics!"

Ness and Paula looked up. Staring down at them behind thick orange goggles was a bizarre looking boy, perhaps their own age or a little younger. He was standing on top of a tree, his arms folded.

"Who are you?" Ness asked, brandishing his weapon.

"I am Razputin." The boy said, raising a hand to his temple. "And I am a Psychonaut."

"Psychonauts?" Paula repeated. "The psychic soldiers?" She sounded impressed.

Razputin swung down from the tree and twirled in midair. He landed neatly on his feet before them.

"That's right." He said. "This is a mere taste of my power."

He reared up his hand and struck out. A giant hand of psychic energy came soaring at Ness. Ness stood there as the attack simply bounced off of him, bursting into sparks.

Raz stared. Paula giggled.

"Ness isn't exactly an ordinary psychic, Raz." She said. "You'll never be able to win."

"Nonsense." Raz said, as he raised his hand again. "Taste my pyrokinesis…"

Ness's eyes flashed. The two bursts of fire slammed into other, but Ness's was far more potent. Raz screamed as he recoiled, panting heavily.

"This is the end." Ness said, as he stepped forward and cracked his bat against the boy's head. He crumpled to the ground.

"Wow, Ness." Paula said, as he stepped up to him. "He wasn't half bad."

Ness nodded, quick to agree. "A lot more training and he could prove to be a real threat."

"But why was he after us?" Paula asked anxiously. "Any idea?"

"None." Ness said, his voice grim. "And I don't think he even knows himself."

Paula stared at him, biting her lip.

"Ness…" She said quietly.

Solid Snake threw aside the limp, unmoving body of Batman as he quietly moved back into hiding in the grass.

"Raiden, where are you?" He hissed into his codec. There was no response.

"Sunny?"

"Snake?"

He let out a sigh of relief. "Sunny." He said. "Where are you?"

"I'm… hiding in Princess Peach's castle." She said anxiously. "With Roll… and Dr. Light."

"Stay with them." Snake instructed. "Can you get Dr. Light on the line?"

"Hang on…"

He heard Sunny say something.

"Yes?" Dr. Light's voice came in over the speaker.

"Light, do you have any idea who is launching this attack?"

"I wish I could tell you." Light said, his voice grave. "I have seen a number of robots that I recognize as Wily's among the enemy forces, but many are of a design I have never seen before."

"Where's MegaMan, have you been in contact with him?"

"I-"

Before Light could finish speaking, Snake rolled over. Sam Fisher was right behind him, knife raised. Snake kicked out at him, sending him sprawling, and got to his feet. Sam regained his balance and took on his own fighting position.

"Well, Snake." Sam said. "Come out of retirement, huh?"

"Sam." Snake acknowledged, scowling. "What are you doing here?"

"Putting an end to loose ends." Sam said casually. "The U.S. Government can't have Philanthropy continuing to take out all of our Metal Gears."

Snake narrowed his eyes. Sam laughed at his expression.

"Do you think you can take me on, Snake?" He asked. "Do you?"

Young Link sat against the tree, his eyes closed. His attention was focused entirely on the music coming from his Ocarina. Bodies and bodies of creatures from the lands of Lordran, Skyrim, and Ancient Japan lay strewn out in front of him.

A single warrior stood, weapon held limply in his hand. It advanced towards Young Link slowly, weapon brandished keenly in front of it.

Link lowered the Ocarina.

"The Chosen Undead." He said quietly. "After Linking the Flame over and over again, you finally decided to bring about the Age of Dark."

The thing slowly advanced at him, the weapon raised.

"You think yourself a fine warrior." Young Link said. "A great one, even. You navigated treacherous landscapes in a bleak world that, in all honesty, could never have been saved."

The creature slowly began stepping towards him.

"You have returned to life, over and over again, in order to fulfill your purpose." Link said. "That drive has kept you sane, and has prevented you from hollowing."

The creature was very close now.

"There is no saving Lordran." Young Link said. "And there truly is no saving you. But I can, at least, put you at peace."

The knight was standing right in front of him.

"Allow me to heal you…" Link said, as he put the Ocarina back to his lips.

By the time he finished playing, there was nothing left of the Knight other than a mask. Link stared down at it pitifully, before turning his gaze upward, at the sky above.

A/N

There are so many fringe references and concepts in this story that I'm beginning to worry that I may lose track of them all, haha. The story has taken kind of a weird turn, hasn't it? Let me reassure you that this was ALWAYS the direction the story was going in. The only real reason it's been so sudden is because I felt like the wedding set up chapters were starting to drag.

Anyway please let me know what you all think, via reviews!
