It was an odd situation indeed that led to Samus and Ridley fighting side by side.
"It's like we're family already!" Ridley cackled, as his tail stabbed towards General Scales chest. He grunted, wincing, as he reached out a powerful claw and tried to swing Ridley around by his tail. Ridley's laugh turned to a snarl as Scales swung him round and round, rather like how Mario used to toss Bowser by the tail. Ridley's tail twisted around, looking to cut or stab any available target, but Scales was a powerful fighter. Samus had to swoop in and rescue him, cannon blazing.
Scales was forced to let go as Ridley twisted around in midair, screeching wildly, as he dove back down onto the dinosaur. The Tiger leapt up in a fierce tackle, and slammed him into the ground. The beasts snarled, rolling over each other to try and pin each other.
Scales took a step backward, snarling as Samus advanced.
"You cannot win, Scales." Samus said. "Call off your men.' She was not blind… The intelligence in her ship, Adam, has just contacted her and let her know the situation on the ground. Hundreds of thousands of unidentified enemies had dropped down to the planet. These were, Adam had confirmed to her, creatures with no clear relationship or goal. The SharpClaw of Dinosaur Planet were fighting alongside Dr. Wily's Robots and street thugs from Kamurocho. A force like this, on a planet this undeveloped, could easily overwhelm the entire native population and exterminate them. Samus was confident that she could defeat Scales, and his armies, but she was not so certain that she could save the planet, and all who were living here.
"Win?" Scales said, his reptilian eyes fixed squarely on her. "Whoever said anything about winning?"
Samus narrowed her eyes. "What?"
"Consider this, girl." Scales said, as they circled each other warily. "This entire planet is under siege. Our first wave of troops is greater than the entire population of this planet, combined. When we withdraw our assault this primitive planet will be left in shambles."
Samus grimaced. Adam was informing her that this was absolutely true. It was very possible that the continent would never recover from this one, single assault.
"The people of this planet are experiencing fear like it never has before." Scales said. "A conflict on a scale that it would not be ready for, for perhaps hundreds of millions of years."
"What are you getting at?"
"The pain and anguish of the people." Scales said. "Will hasten the summoning of Dracula's Castle!"
Samus glared at him through her visor.
"You think that frightens me?" She asked, her voice quiet. "I will venture there and destroy Dracula myself if I must."
Scales laughed, but it only gave her a perfect target for her super missile. It connected with its target and exploded, sending him tumbling backward over the side of the ship. Samus turned around towards the other fighters and joined in the fray.
…
High above the planet, far beyond the reach of the Princess of the Cosmos and behind hundreds of millions of spaceships, sat Damon Riccitello. Following the invasion of Earth from his childhood friend, the Jean-Baptiste VI (Or Fu, as he had always called him) He had survived his battle with the assassin Travis Touchdown and escaped into the depths of space. There, he used his vast resources to seize control of the most corrupt company he could, a business known as Electronic Arts.
"How are the Madden Teams doing?" He asked his assistant on the ground.
"Not well, sir." The beautiful Sylvia Christel answered, clipboard in hand. She jumped out of the way as the battered, beaten body of a linebacker fell to the ground next to her. She kicked the body with her foot nervously.
"You may mark that as another casualty." She said. "King Bowser's Chargin' Chucks are putting up quite a fight, sir."
Damon leaned forward, his eyes narrowed. "I invest tens of millions to recruit the best players into the NFL… and you can't even beat a couple of turtles from the Mushroom Kingdom?"
"Let it go, man." Fu said, laying a hand on his shoulder. "No one ever said taking the Mushroom Kingdom would be easy."
Damon fumed, leaning back in his chair. "I don't care how easy it is." He said, his voice cold. "I just want it DONE."
"How's the rest of the battle going, babe?" Fu asked, looking up at Sylvia curiously. He had been quite fond of her from the moment he saw her. She was a striking creature, one of Earth's finest.
"The enemy is holding their position admirably." She said. Her voice, although professional, had a tinge of bitterness to it. "Not a single member of the Smash Brothers have fallen."
"That is to be expected." Damon said. "Rosalina alone is keeping most of our ships at bay. I cannot imagine how powerful the rest of these Smash Brothers are."
"Let me at them." Fu said, leaning in over Damon. "Come on, please?"
"That would not be advisable, Prince Fu." Sylvia answered. "You could not even handle a single passing assassin. Whatever makes you think that you could handle the Smash Brothers?"
Fu's hand, which he had placed on Damon's shoulder, suddenly clenched very tight. Damon gasped in pain, wincing.
"You will watch your mouth, woman." He hissed, his four eyes narrowed. "Or it will be you that I kill."
"My apologies, but I do not date the friends of my boss." Sylvia answered, a little curtly. The transmission cut out.
"That little…"
"Enough." Damon growled, pushing Fu's hand off of his shoulder. "I have more experience with Smash than you. Believe me, you cannot match them."
…
"Simon!"
Simon raised his whip, the Vampire Killer, and cracked it against a ReDead that had launched itself at him. The creature fell to the ground as he turned around.
"Yes, Isabelle."
"Urgent message from Samus Aran!" She cried, waving a video communicator above her head. Simon grimaced as he turned around. Mr. X, the Umbrella Corporation's Biologically created Hitman, was stumping towards them.
"How urgent?"
"Castlevania is being summoned!"
"Put me on." Simon said immediately. Isabelle leapt onto his shoulder and shoved the communicator in his face. He raised the whip and struck Mr. X across the face as the face of Samus Aran appeared on the communicator.
"Simon?" She asked. "May I speak to you?"
"You may." Simon grunted, as Mr. X took a mighty swing at his face. He threw some Holy Water, but being a scientifically created creature, it had no effect.
"I have just been informed that Castlevania is being summoned."
"Dracula's Castle?" Simon interjected, as he struck out Mr. X with the whip. The lashing leather cut straight through its skin. It cried in pain. "Here?"
"Yes." Samus said. "I wanted your opinion on this matter."
"If it's summoned here, it will house Dracula and his minions." Simon said. "It would need to be destroyed, of course…" Isabelle held on for dear life as he twisted, throwing a knife straight into Mr. X's head.
"Could it be used for any other purpose?"
"Dracula's Power is merely a representation of Chaos itself." Simon explained. "It's an outlet for the raw, destructive energy of the Universe. In theory, if Dracula were forever defeated, the Castle would choose a new master."
"That must be what they are trying to do." Samus said, her voice grim. "Simon, the Castle is being summoned in a country called Begnion. I am headed there now. I will stop Dracula myself, if I must."
"Samus, wait-"
The screen clicked off.
"She hung up." Isabelle said, holding the screen in front of her face as Simon stomped the head of the downed Mr. X, smashing it into pieces. "Uh, I went ahead and took notes. Should I report this to Mario?"
"You best find Ike." Simon advised her. "This is his land, after all. He would know best what to do with that information."
"Yes sir." She said, saluting. She leapt off of his head and winced, as she landed in the blood his fallen enemies.
"Oh, I'll be glad when this is all said and done." Isabelle grumbled, as she trudged through the chaos to find Ike.
…
The bus rolled along with hardly a word spoken between them. They had sat down across from each other with hardly a word exchanged between them, but Chun-Li could not help but glancing up at him from time to time.
He was a fighter, first and foremost. Big and muscular, he struck her as someone who could hold his own among the World Warriors. She had thought that she had known most of the world's greatest fighters. But she was learning every day that it was a big, wide world out there.
"What are you looking at, woman?" The man growled at her.
"You, of course." She answered, promptly. "You've been glaring at me all day."
He grunted, his arms crossed in of him.
"You're Kazuya Mishima." She said. "Head of the Mishima Zaibatsu."
He looked at her, eyes narrowed.
"How did you know that?"
"I have my ways." She said simply. She had run a profile on him through her vast network. It had been, of all people, Ken Masters who had filled her in. Kazuya grunted, and turned away from her.
"You're one of them now, aren't you?" She asked. "The Smash Brothers."
"The newest member." He said, his voice gruff.
The girl sitting on the seats next to them turned around.
"Oh, we're new too!" She said brightly, as she stood up. "I'm Pyra… a pleasure to meet you…"
She bowed, a little formally, to both of them. Chun-Li smiled warmly at her, although she found herself wincing a little at her outfit.
Before the conversation could continue, however, the bus came to a stop. The driver, a creature called Kapp'n, frowned.
"There's trouble a-brewing." He said. "Lookee here."
The three passengers walked up to the front of the bus. There, in the middle of the road, stood a man.
"He… isn't moving." Chun-Li said faintly. "Why is he stopping us?"
Kazuya did not even look at her. He turned to the bus door and ripped it open with his hands. He stepped out into the grass and turned to the man.
"Out of our way." Kazuya said.
"Ah, Kazuya Mishima." The man said. His bone chilling voice made Chun-Li's hair on end. "It is an honor to do battle with you."
Chun-Li followed Kazuya out into the road and peered at the man.
"Lan Di." She said, surprised. "Of the Chi You Men."
"Ah, Detective Chun-Li." Lan Di said. "It is an honor."
"What are you doing here?" Chun-Li demanded. She was already taking a fighting position. She knew that Lan Di was dangerous. But Kazuya was one step ahead of her.
"Move." He said. "Now."
They faced each other and took their positions.
The Invasion of the Planet Tellius had gone off without a hitch. The Invaders, whose true identities are still shrouded in mystery, had successfully subjugated the Super Smash Bros by capturing an entire planet that was to be the host of Samus Aran's wedding.
Most of the Leaders of Tellius, including Queen Elincia, Empress Sanaki, Queen Micaiah, and King Kurthnaga were already present or en route to the Wedding held in Crimea, taking large portions of their royal guard with them. Entire cities and villages were left relatively defenseless as the invaders ransacked them.
However, the primary focus of the assault was on the village of Smashvillle, a community established to house the Super Smash Bros as they prepared for the wedding. Although countless fighters came to this village, seeking to destroy their Ultimate Enemy, they were rebuked time and time again by the Smash Bros, the strongest force in the universe.
Over time the Smash Bros established Smashville as the safest place in all of Tellius. But with this relative peace and safety came an even greater unease.
A/N
I was originally going to use an original character to represent EA's Sports franchises, but as it so happens Damon Riccitello is meant to be an EA representative anyway. So I just used him. His relationship with Fu is quite different in the story than it is in No More Heroes III… Let's just say they made up after Travis killed them both. Yes, I really enjoyed No More Heroes III. How could you tell?
Also I know nothing about Tekken, but still tried to write Kazuya anyway. Pray Terry Bogard stays far away from this story.
Also Lan Di is the antagonist of Shenmue. I threw him in there because I didn't want Kazuya to fight Kazuma Kiryu yet.
