While the Raw team explores, trying to figure out how best to help Insekimon, the Smackdown team wanders along their own portion of the Digital World, Shinsuke keeping a watchful eye out. Their numbers are diminished this week, partially because of poor weather and partially because others weren't on the road this week. Whatever the reason, Nakamura is far from thrilled with it only being him, Chad Gable and Aiden English this week. He casts a quick glance over his shoulder at them and exhales roughly.
The further they go from the digiport, the more anxious Shinsuke feels, even though he succeeds at not showing it, if Chad and Aiden's discussion is anything to go on, the two men barely paying attention to their situation. He rolls his eyes and continues to check their surroundings, almost expecting a blindsided attack, but everything is quiet, calm. Too quiet, too calm. He grits his teeth, fingers drumming against his sides as Coronamon too looks around. "Do you sense something?" he asks slowly and the digimon shakes his head.
"I feel something... but it's not moving. It's almost as if it's just... watching us." He frowns. "I don't like this."
"I don't either," Shinsuke sighs, stopping short and raising his arm, Chad and Aiden quickly skidding to a stop behind them.
"What's wrong?" Chad asks.
"Are we being attacked?" Aiden wonders, glancing down at the map open on his digivice, flashing red lights still a fair distance away from their current position.
"Listen," Shinsuke orders them and they immediately fall silent, looking around. It feels like the calm before the storm and Shinsuke truly hates it, rocking back and forth on his feet, as if preparing for the Kinsasha. "Show yourself," he demands quietly.
Nothing happens and he closes his eyes, shaking his head. He's about to demand they move, hurry up, when he realizes that the air feels different- his lungs are burning, he tastes something burning, and behind him, he hears Aiden struggle to say something, Chad collapsing to his knees, clawing at his throat, only moments later. Nakamura struggles to turn to Coronamon, say, do something, but there's no chance. He drops slowly to his knees as well, his vision wavering as his body reacts slowly to the oxygen deprivation.
He only catches a glimpse of the digimon as it finally skitters out of its hiding place, eyes glowing evilly in the early evening twilight. "Infermon," he bites out before everything goes dark before him.
