KingSlayerAzrael: Thanks.

WhiteElfElder: Not great based on some of the fics I've read.

InfinityMask: If the wizarding world hates muggles (who aren't really physical threats without weapons) then they definitely hate mutants.

.3950: Well, don't give up hope, you should just do what I did: Find someone and quickly get yourself attached to them before they realise they have better options. Also seriously, don't give up.

DRAGONDAVE45: Yes to the first, I haven't decided on the second.

Chapter 24 -

"So," Laura said to Kurt as she walked with him to breakfast the next day. "How are you enjoying your stay here so far?" She asked.

"It's nice," Kurt said with a small nod. "You know, apart from your brother trying to kill me."

"He wasn't going to kill you," Laura said with a small shake of her head. "Just hurt you a lot."

"That doesn't make me feel too much better," Kurt snorted. "Your brother is scary."

"He's actually quite sweet if you get to know him," Laura replied, earning a disbelieving look from Kurt. "Okay, well, maybe not sweet, but he's alright. He's just very protective."

"I'll take your word for it," Kurt muttered.

"Seriously, if you become his friend then he'll make sure to protect you," Laura told him. "Ask our friends, Jean and Emma, Harry's very protective."

"We'll see," Kurt said doubtfully as they arrived in the canteen and picked up some food.

"Oh, come and eat with us," Laura told Kurt before she grabbed him with one arm and pulled him with her towards the table where Harry and Jean were sitting.

"You woke up later than usual," Harry noted, while Laura's cat, Felix, was perched on Harry's head while Harry's owl, Hedwig, was perched on Harry's shoulder, not that that young mutant seemed to mind. "Felix missed you." Harry barely got those words out of his mouth before the cat hopped off of Harry's head and rushed across the table before dropping into Laura's lap. "You see?" Harry asked while Jean let out a small laugh.

"Thanks for looking after him, Harry, you remember Kurt?" Laura asked, gesturing to Kurt who gave Harry an awkward wave and was doing his best to resist the temptation to ask why Harry had an owl on his shoulder.

"Alright, man?" Harry greeted the blue mutant with a small nod.

"Well, nobody has tried to kill me yet, so better than yesterday at least" Kurt answered after a few moments of pretending to do some heavy thinking.

"Wait, somebody tried to kill you?" Harry frowned. "Who?" He asked, causing Kurt to blink at Harry's honest-to-god confusion.

"Um...you." Kurt's voice made it very clear that he thought that the answer was obvious and that he was confused about why Harry hadn't realised that.

"Me?" Harry blurted out. "When the hell did I try and kill you?" He asked, looking even more confused.

"When we met," Kurt said in a slow voice as he stared at Harry who was no longer the only person there that was confused. "You remember? You chased me around the mansion, trying to kill me."

"I did not," Harry said in an offended voice. "I was only going to maim you at best."

"Right, how silly of me to not know that." Kurt dryly responded.

"Told you," Laura smirked at Kurt while Jean stopped herself from laughing out loud by placing a hand over her mouth.

"Destroy." The large purple robot that was easily three stories tall said as it took several steps forwards, walking across the white-tiled room.

Harry, telekinetically thrown by Jean, soared through the air until he landed on the robot's head. With a roar, he plunged his claws straight into its head and kept attacking it until there was a big hole in the side of its head. A second later Laura landed on its head, having also been telekinetically raised up by Jean. Laura's claws popped out and she began clawing at the exposed wires left from Harry's attack. Meanwhile, Harry and Jean continued to distract the robot, the former doing so by stabbing at every part he could get while the latter had chosen to telekinetically throw the heaviest pieces she could at it. Eventually, the trio got the result they wanted as the lights in the robot's eyes died down and it soon started falling to the floor, thankfully Jean reacted quickly enough and managed to catch the twins before they could fall with it.

"Nicely done," The trio heard Logan's voice say through the danger room speaker. "That was faster than last time, though on our next session I want the three of you to try and defeat one of these using nothing but your magic. Now, hit the showers and head to Xavier's office. That strange guy is here to take us to do your school shopping."

"Doctor Strange." The trio told him.

"Whatever," Logan said dismissively. "Hit the showers."

"We do stink a bit." Harry frowned as he sniffed himself before the trio started walking out of the room.

"I don't think we smell that bad," Jean commented.

"You wouldn't say that if you had our noses," Laura replied. "Anyway, did you finish all your homework?" She asked.

"Yep, finished it ages ago, what about you?" Jean asked.

"I did it in the first week back," Laura answered before the two of them gave Harry a questioning look.

"Well...about that..."

"You didn't do it, did you?" The two girls asked at the same time.

"No, I forgot," Harry answered honestly.

"I remember you last week saying that you'd do it tomorrow." Jean pointed out.

"Yes, I did say that but then I woke up the next day and that day shifted from 'tomorrow' to 'today'." Harry shrugged before receiving a glare from both girls, causing him to roll his eyes. "Fine, I'll do it when we get back from shopping."

"Are you sure about this?" Professor Xavier asked Doctor Strange as he sat behind his desk.

"Oh yes, I am," Doctor Strange answered, sitting opposite Professor Xavier whilst wearing an expensive-looking blue suit. "I've been hearing rumours about an anti-mutant law being pushed for by the British wizards, my contacts tell me that they're unsure how it'll play out."

"What do you mean?" Professor Xavier asked with a frown on his face.

"Well, a lot of the high-up members of this particular government are of the belief that wizardkind is the superior race and all of the other races are inferior and should be enslaved or destroyed, unfortunately, this number of people is a lot higher than I would have liked." Doctor Strange began explaining. "Fortunately, there are also those who won't discriminate but I'm not sure if we have enough of those. There are many who would support this bill because they see mutants as just another sort of muggle since they're not all wizards."

"Hmm, perhaps I should talk to Jean and the twins and have them modify their behaviour at school," Professor Xavier said thoughtfully.

"I wouldn't bother," Dr Strange snorted. "The kids would just be examples that would be used to describe mutants and if they were perfect angels then they would find a different mutant."

"I see your point, perhaps I should..." Professor Xavier paused and glanced at the door. "Ah, I believe that the children are here. We should continue this conversation another time."

"Of course." Doctor Strange nodded before he flicked his wrist, causing the door to open before any of the kids could knock. "Greetings, children," Doctor Strange said as he stood up to face the kids. "How are you all?"

"We're fine, Sir, how about you?" Jean asked.

"As good as I can be," Doctor Strange answered just before Logan walked into the room.

"Alright, ready to go whenever you are," Logan said while placing a cigar in his mouth.

"Can I have one?" Harry asked.

"No," Logan said without hesitation.

"Why not? I can heal too." Harry protested.

"No," Logan said one more before the cigar suddenly disappeared. "Hey!" He protested.

"You'll thank me in the long run," Doctor Strange smiled at him before turning to the children. "Now, we'll pick up Miss Frost and be on our way." He told before he started creating a portal to take them to Emma's house.

"We're nearly done," Doctor Strange said to the group in Diagon Alley, having nearly finished all of their shopping.

"I believe that we just need to get our books now," Emma spoke up, lazily flicking some hair behind her shoulder. "And our school uniforms."

"You take the kids to the book store," Doctor Strange said to Logan. "I'll go and get their uniforms for them."

"Won't you need us to go and get measured for our clothes?" Harry asked.

"Kid, I'm the master of the mystic arts," Doctor Strange replied with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. "Trust me, they will fit." He smiled before walking off.

"Wizards are weird," Logan grunted before he and the group went into the bookstore. "Who the hell is he?" Gesturing to a poster of a blonde man. "Gilderoy Lockhart?" He read the name off of the poster.

"A lot of the books on our booklist are his," Jean pointed out before looking at the poster. "Oh, apparently he's signing books here today."

"That would explain the crowd," Emma commented, gesturing to the tons of people in the store.

"Let's just get this over with," Harry suggested with a small yawn.

"Bless my soul, it's Harry Potter," A voice said, suddenly the entire store was quiet and everyone was staring in Harry's direction. The crowd parted enough that Harry could see none other than Gilderoy Lockhart standing behind a table, dressed in bright blue robes and staring at him. "Come up, Harry, bring your sister with you. Come on." He encouraged him.

"Hurry up." A photographer said, he reached forward to grab Harry who lazily swatted the man's hand away. "Ow!"

"Hands to yourself, bub," Harry told him.

"Harry, come along, wouldn't you like to take a few photos?" Lockhart asked. "Why, I'm sure that you and I together will rate the front page."

"I just want to get my books and get out of here." Harry refused as politely as he could.

"Ah," Lockhart smiled brightly. "In that case, allow me to help you with that." He turned to the crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen, when Mr Potter and his lovely young sister came into this store to get their books signed by me..."

"Who the hell told him we wanted signed books?" Laura whispered to Harry. "I don't even know who he is."

"They did not expect to each receive a full and signed copy of my work," Lockhart continued. "Free of charge." He added with a grin as many people cheered for him. Harry, Laura and friends blinked before looking up at Logan who was staring at Lockhart the same way one would stare if they were considering swatting a fly. He turned to the kids and shrugged.

"It's just less money that we have to pay." He hummed, letting the kids know that they would be taking the free books.

"Well, that wasn't fun," Harry helpfully commented once they had picked up all their books.

"Are you sure you don't want to go back and get your picture taken?" Jean teased.

"Keep it up, Red," Harry rolled his eyes. "Don't blame me if you wake up with no hair."

"I won't if you don't blame me for throwing you out the window after that," Jean smirked.

"Can I watch?" Emma asked, completely serious.

"I'll record it for you," Laura giggled.

"And I'll laugh." Logan bluntly stated. "Now, let's go. I'm getting hungry."

"Me too." Harry agreed.

"Boys." Jean and Emma rolled their eyes.

"I'm hungry too, you sexist princesses," Laura replied with a mild glare.

"Oh, and one more thing," The group stopped when they heard Lockhart's voice. "I am delighted to announce that in Hogwarts, this year's defence against the dark arts teacher will be none other than yours truly, Gilderoy Lockhart." Lockhart smiled brightly as cameras began flashing and the crowd began cheering.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Harry, Laura, Jean and Emma whispered at the same time.

"Let's go before he asks for another photo," Harry suggested.

"Oh, and here's famous Harry Potter," A voice drawled, causing Harry to groan. "Can't even go to the book store without making the front page." Draco Malfoy sneered as he stepped in front of the group.

"What the hell is this?" Logan frowned as he stared at Draco, he took a cautionary sniff and nearly gagged. "How much damn hair gel do you wear?!" He blurted out.

"You don't get used to it," Harry sympathetically patted him on the arm while Laura sadly nodded in agreement.

"Shut it, Potter," Draco glared at him before turning to Logan. "Do you even know who I am?"

"I can take a guess," Logan grunted. "I see a ton of hair gel, overly expensive clothes and an attitude, you must be the Malfoy brat that I've heard about."

"Don't talk about me like that, you filthy mud blood!" Draco snapped at him.

"What did you just call me?" Logan asked, narrowing his eyes. Draco wasn't sure if it was the way this man was looking at him or his tone of voice, but either way, he found himself taking a step back before even realising he had done so.

"Now, now, Draco, play nice." A man with flowing, shoulder-length blonde hair appeared next to Draco. He was dressed in expensive clothes and had a cane in his hand with a snake handle. "Perhaps introductions are in order." He suggested to Draco.

"Father, this is Jean Grey, Emma Frost and the Potter twins, the..." Draco sneered at the group before continuing. "...mutants that I had told you about."

"Ah, I see," Lucius drawled. "And who are you?" He asked Logan.

"Kid's granddad," Logan gestured to Harry and Laura.

"Grandfather?" Lucius blinked. "You're quite young for one."

"I get that a lot."

"You're most certainly not James Potter's father, that man is dead, so I must assume that you would be the father of their mother."

"Brilliant work, Sherlock," Logan replied. "I'm assuming you must be this little twerp's father." Logan gestured to an offended-looking Draco.

"I'm not a twerp and why do you keep mentioning my hair gel?!" Draco demanded.

"Because we don't like it." Logan, Harry and Laura answered at the same time.

"Hmm, would you perhaps be a mutant like your grandchildren?" Lucius said with a small smirk. "Poor children, to have inherited such a horrible condition."

"It comes in handy sometimes," Logan stared at Lucius in an unimpressed manner. "Now, if you don't mind moving, you're blocking our way."

"Of course," Lucius gave him a small and insincere smile, he was about to step to the side when his eyes found Harry. "Ah, the legendary scar." He reached forward to touch it, only stopping when Logan grabbed him by the wrist. "What? I say, let go of me, you...aah!" Lucius gasped and nearly fell to the floor as Logan suddenly squeezed tighter and Lucius felt like his arm had been placed into a vice,

"Don't touch my grandkids," Logan growled before he let go of Lucius and walked past him, shoving him in the shoulder as he did so. The kids followed after him, as they did so, Harry decided to offer one last comment to Draco.

"My granddad was about to whoop your daddy's ass." Harry grinned as he walked past a fuming and shocked Draco.
