Chapter 21

Percy POV

"Okay let's get this party started" Malcolm shouted. It was Halloween now and my mother had to work late but I'd still managed to convince her to let me have a small party at our home. Said party consisted of Me, Grover, Malcolm, and Emily. I slid the movie in that Malcolm brought, I think it was called something like 'The tenth deadly sin'. I turned around just in time to see Malcolm yank Grover down next to him on one side of the couch.

I swear I think Malcolm has been trying to make me spend more time and space with Emily since school started. First he was just getting us to sit together whenever possible then he, with his iron trap mind, began to forget to meet up with us for the movies and once a concert. Me and Emily still went anyway but it was kind of awkward, lately whenever I was even close to her I blushed, my heart raced, and my mind went blank.

Sitting next Emily I couldn't even focus on the movie, especially when she fell asleep on my shoulder. The movie may have only been an hour and a half long but for me it felt like an eternity. "Man that was stupid." Malcolm said turning off the tv.

"Then why'd you bring it?" Grove asked.

"My dad said it scared him half to death when he was my age so I thought it should be at least kinda good." He said.

"Well it sucks and your father is a pansy...having fun there Percy?" Grover grinned.

"Guy's help me get up before she wakes up and kills me." I whispered. The two of them chuckled taking a few pictures before helping me.

As I stood up the doorbell rang "Guess pizzas here." I said heading for the door.

"You got the vegetarian pizza right?" He has asked running after me.

Third Person POV

"You can quit pretending to be asleep now Percy and Grover are gone." Malcolm said.

Emily cracked open an eye "What makes you think I was pretending?" she said stretching.

"You weren't snoring" Malcolm said. Emily gave me her best death glare "Hey I'm not saying it's loud or embarrassing, but you are never silent when you sleep. I should know I have to sit next to you in English." He said.

Emily huffed and stormed off into the kitchen followed by Malcolm a few minutes later. "This isn't a vegetarian pizza?" Grover whined.

"The guy who ran the Pizzeria said a specialty tomato was the closest thing they had and was popular among vegetarians." Percy said "Do you want me to get the salad from the fridge?".

"Nah I'm good." Grover said grabbing a slice. Everyone had a great time playing games from Charades to Taboo. Malcolm and Grover left together heading back to camp for some prank on the Hermes cabin leaving Emily and Percy alone.

"So? How have you been?" Emily asked "Those dreams still bothering you?".

"Kinda." Percy said. "I still can't remember some of them but they're getting clearer and to be honest they're kinda weird." He said.

"Weird how?" Emily asked unconsciously moving closer.

Percy noticed her getting closer and turned a bit hoping she wouldn't see his blush. "Well one I've been having for the last couple weeks is about Artemis and Apollo. It starts off with Apollo landing in the hunters of Artemis' camp in a flying car. Artemis storms up to him and tells him off for the rude awakening which I can understand I'd be made to if that happened to me. Apollo jokingly calls her little sis and waves to some of his daughters in the hunt. Artemis then gets mad at him thinking he's flirting with her hunters and tells him to leave. Apollo gets so angry he states that he wants nothing to do with her anymore and leaves." Percy took a deep breath. "So now do you understand?" he asked.

"Ya it's weird alright." Emily said distractedly.

"The thing I just can't seem to shake is the look in Apollo's eye. It's the same one Dean had during his argument with John that ruined their friendship." Percy said missing Emily's reaction completely.

"But Artemis and Apollo are twins they wouldn't lose touch just because of some argument." Emily reasoned.

"Maybe not right away but think about it, you said you had a brother right? Imagine if he only treated you as an annoyance just about every time you met, how would that make you feel? If you were immortal how long could you put up with it before giving up? 100 years? 200? 1000? I know we'd all like to think we'd wait forever but everyone has limits and then the question begs, once we've lost that sibling what would we be willing to do to get them back." Percy sat down on the couch closed his eye's.

"Wow that was deep." Emily said trying for a joke.

Percy chuckled then noticed the clock read 9:46 "Hey didn't you have to be home by ten?".

Emily looked at the clock "Oh shoot bye Percy!" She yelled running out of the apartment before Percy could even respond.
