Chapter 24

Percy POV

The flight back to camp was terrifying. First off Artemis seemed to be seriously mad at me about something and when Apollo didn't answer her call she was furious, It got even worse when I tried to convince Bianca to hold joining the hunters. Needless to say I spent the whole ride cowering in the corner.

When we landed I was the one who told Tomas that Annabeth had been taken. The pain on his face when he heard the news simply infuriated me. I was right there, not even five feet away, but I couldn't save her. What's the point of having so much power if I couldn't save those closest to me.

Lastly the most of the camp now hates me for losing our match against the hunters. Personally I think it's because the hunters weren't trying to beat me half to death. At the end of the day I ended up at the stables talking with blackjack.

Thalia POV

"Stupid Percy, we had them if you had just stuck to the plan." I growled. After our loss to the hunters I decided to take a walk in the woods to cool off but it wasn't working.

"It's not Percy's fault child." Zoe said.

"What, are you here to gloat or something?" I said. "And what do you mean it's not his fault?"

"I actually came here to think but thy's whining was annoying me to much." She said. "And I mean thy plan was flawed not Percy's actions. Thy are very rigid and unyielding which is good in a one on one fight. Sadly the same trait will only lead to ruin in a larger battle. Percy is the exact opposite, he adapts far too much, changing his mind due to a wim rather than necessity. In my opinion you could learn a lot from each other."

"How did you become friends anyway?" I asked.

"Not sure really just happened." Zoe said.

Third person POV

Percy thrashed about on his cot before suddenly waking causing a small tremor to pass through the cabin. "I thought this thing was supposed to stop those dreams" Percy said holding the device Apollo gave him. "I guess it doesn't matter I need to talk to Chiron any way." He said throwing off the covers.

As Percy neared the big house he saw Zoe storming off in the direction of the hunters cabin muttering something about senile Centaurs. "What in the world?" Percy said to know one in particular.

"She just had a really big fight with Chiron." Grover said appearing out of a bush and nearly giving Percy a heart attack.

"What the Zeus was that for!" He shouted.

"Zeus?" Grover asked.

Percy simply shrugged "What? I just noticed Hades always gets the down side of everything so I switched it up. Now are you going to tell me what's going on or not."

Grover shook his head at Percy's antics "Zoe showed up at the big house demanding that Chiron let her see the oracle. Apparently she had a dream that Artemis was in trouble and wants to go after her. Chiron told her it was simple to dangerous and Dionysus flat out forbid her from leaving till Artemis came back. I think he just said that to avoid the the whole incident that happened in the 1990's. A hunter faked a message from Zeus to get out of camp sooner and Zeus caused hurricane Klaus as a result."

"Well when you put it like that I can't really blame him but, I think Zoe's right I just had a dream of Artemis getting captured as well but after everything that's happened I doubt Chiron will let me go after her." Percy said.

"I guess I'll just have to get lost heading home." He laughed "What do you say Grover, want to come with me?".

Grover again shook his head "I can't the cloven elders would take my searchers licences if I did something that reckless no matter the reason."

"What are you two doing up?" Malcolm asked walking over to us "Guys it's midnight."

"What you're up too." Grover said.

"Hey my cabin is over stuffed right now, seriously we've had to do two people to a cot till the bunk beds get here what's your excuse." Malcolm said.

"I was about to go to Chiron about a dream I had of Artemis getting captured." Percy said "And I'm 90% sure Grover was stalking the hunters."

"I was not stalking them!" Grover shouted.

"Then how did you see Zoe talking to Chiron? I know for a fact that pretty much everything you need is the other way unless you wanted to talk to Chiron." Percy said earning an annoyed bleat from Grover. "So Malcolm do you want to join me in going after Annabeth and Artemis?".

"Sorry Perce but I need to stay and help, Annabeth is the most senior camper in our cabin. Everyone especially the little ones are having a hard time dealing her being gone, if I just left it would be traumatic for a lot of them." Malcolm said. Percy nodded and started heading out, one might think he needed to pack but then you'd be wrong. Percy already and his coat and sword with him anything else like more clothes would just slow him down and attempting to raid the kitchen would just lead to an early death...by humiliation.

Five steps past the camps border and vines erupted around his feet and constricted like a snake around Percy's waist "Where do you think your going Jackson?" Dionysus said from behind me.

"I was going ho-" the part of Percy's sentence was cut off when the vines tightened around his waist.

"Don't lie to me." The wine god said "I may not be Apollo but I can still tell when you're lying. Now I'll ask one more time where are you going."

"I'm going after Annabeth and Artemis, I can't just sit around here and do nothing not when I can do something." Percy said.

"You do realise that this type of recklessness is exactly what Kronos is waiting for. The second he has you captured he will send his greatest assassins to kill Thalia. And all the while he's gonna be torturing your body and destroying your mind till you can't even tie your shoe without his say so." He said.

"You don't think I know that! You don't think I know the real reason Zeus agreed to let Triton train me is to promote loyalty to Olympus! I know the danger but I refuse to let that fear rule me. You were mortal once didn't you have someone who you'd do anything for, I seem to remember a story where you faced down Thanatos just to see your mother. If Kronos wants his way he's going to have to kill me because he made the biggest mistake possible, he went after my sister and my friend and he's going to regret it!" Percy half yelled.

For a brief moment Dionysus could have sworn he saw an image of Athena and Poseidon standing directly Percy saying the exact same thing. The same determination in their eyes. With a wave of the wine god's hand the vines receded back into the ground "I'll give you till morning before I report your absence, I hope you succeed for it might lessen your father and uncle's rage at your stupidity."

"Thank you." Percy said before darting off for the coast.
