Chapter 31

Apollo POV

"Here I am so where are my answers?" I asked looking at of the model of the moon landing.

"Calm down this won't look realistic if you're mad." Mr. P. said, sorry but I wasn't gonna call a man I didn't even know Uncle.

"What do you mean realistic you look like the love child of a pirate and cowboy. Most people probably think your part of that cosplay event down the street." I said. "If you want to look normal you should have at least picked modern clothes."

"I guess you do have a point." Mr. P. said looking at the other people in the museum. For a quick sec he became covered in shadows from head to toe and when they disappeared he still had the cowboy hat, a loose trench coat, a black T-shirt, and work jeans. "Better?" He asked.

"Much better." I said. "Now are you going to hold up your end of the bargain or not?"

"Killjoy." He sighed "So what do want to know?"

"How about your name." I said.

"Poros." He said.

"Why do I know that name?" I asked.

"I'll give you a hint my mother Metis prophesied that I would one day replace your father as lord of the sky." He said.

"Metis? Your Athena's brother!" I half shouted "But how are you even here Metis was supposed to have faded before you were born?"

"I still can't believe anyone actually believed that story." Poros growled "As if something as pure as my sister could be born from his mind. Athena was born the normal way and that's when mother told that man her prophesy. He left right after that, I'm not sure why but he wasn't there when I was born later that day.

Mother spent the next few months taking care of us in this out of the way forest. The lord of the sky showed up and demanded to talk to mother, she pushed me outside with sis and the next thing I know I've got a father. Till I was about two I looked up to that man, life was about as good as it could get, then one day he asked me to go with him. He introduced me to Astraeus Titan of dusk, stars, and planets, and the art of astrology.

Astraeus took me to his palace and showed me around the place. I thought is was so cool, the astrology equipment, the charts, the garden, and the door that could move. It could only be opened by Astraeus or someone who was otherwise. If you weren't it wouldn't open up to the right spot. He stuck the door at the entrance to a cave, he opens it up and there's a palace anyone else and it's a cave.

He said he was just going to step outside to talk with 'your father' and he chained me in. I couldn't get out so I looked through the bars to see him talking to your father, apparently the lord of the sky had promised Astraeus a seat on his council for imprisoning me. Instead he used some kind of weapon on Astraeus, I'm not sure what it was but the screams coming from the Titan were inhumane. 3000 or so years later my nephew shows up and cuts the chains."

"How do you know Percy's you nephew?" I asked.

"Around the 400 year mark I figured out my domain and as the god of night I can see just about anything that happens under the night sky. I could see my family night after night but I couldn't do anything to help them or to let them know I was there." He said.

"I see." I said. "So what's your big plan now? Kill the king and take the throne."

"Kill him yes, take the throne no. As far as I'm concerned that thing should be destroyed with him. Besides it would only look like a power struggle if that happened. I have information on most of his crimes since the destruction of Troy. With the help of you, Hephaestus, and any of our siblings you think we can trust we expose and have the council decide what to do with him. But Athena can't be one of them." He seethed.

"Why not we could use her wisdom?" I inquired.

"Hades or Poseidon will have to be the next king no one else is ready and if she has to chose between her father and Percy I'm more than confident she'll choose Percy till then it's best she doesn't even know I'm alive." He said.

"So when do you think we should make our move?" I asked.

"3-4 years from now maybe more." He said.

"Why so long after all that he did to you I would think you'd go for the kill as soon as possible." I pondered allowed.

"The titans will attack sometime within the next two years of that I'm certain which isn't enough time for Olympus to go through a drastic change and stabilize. And I've noticed strange events accuring, I think Gaea may be planning to rise shortly after the Titans are defeated and whether we like it or not we'll need his power. Once that war is over we make our move." Poros paused and glanced around "Hermes is coming I'll have to go, but I must say this. I've spent 3000 years wishing I could talk to my sister, don't throw yours away when she's trying to reach out to you."

Artemis POV

I was the second to last to arrive in the council room for the meeting but meeting may have been too strong a word. Nobody was sitting on their thrones and Zeus was practically yelling at Poseidon, in other words we looked like a regular family. "What's going on?" I said to Aphrodite as Percy's dragon jumped off my shoulders to stand next to me. "That dragon followed me just about everywhere.

"Apparently Poseidon performed a blood adoption on Annabeth daughter of Athena." Aphrodite whined "Now I can't have my Percabeth."

'Thank goodness.' I thought in relief although I'd be asking myself why for weeks. "A blood adoption, no wonder Zeus is mad." I said. A blood adoption was very rarely done as it tended to draw the loyalty of the adopted child towards to new parent or erase the previous one if they were of the same gender. Thankfully they couldn't be done without the demigods consent but if their original parent wasn't consulted it could lead to a very bloody feud. The last one that I know of was Alexander the great a son of Ares and later Athena.

"Did he ask Athena first?" I asked.

"No idea she hasn't arrived yet and that is all that's protecting Poseidon right now." the love goddess said.

The moment those words left her mouth Athena materialized in the room. "Ah finally." Zeus said "Do you know that Poseidon has blood adopted your daughter?"

"Yes I do! You literally called me away for her!" She yelled.

"And you're okay with this?" He asked in genuine shock "But you hate him."

"Personal feelings aside he a better father than the one she had, not that it really took much to achieve that." She said.

"Great now I've got t explain to a bunch of crazy kids why a daughter of Athena can now come and go from the poseidon cabin when ever she wants." Dionysus complained.

"Does this mean Annabeth is now a possible child of the prophecy." Hermes asked, followed by Apollo's phone going off.

"No I checked with the Fates before I asked Athena's permission." Poseidon said

Zeus flashed out mumbling about annoying family members "Yo Poseidon your son just woke up." Apollo said crossing over to the aforementioned god.

"Is he doing ok?" Poseidon asked.

"He healing even faster than I hoped." Apollo said before looking at me "He asking to see you and Hades."

"I'll be right there." I said and the dragon leapt back on my shoulders as if to say 'I'm ready to'.

Percy POV

"You asked for me." Hades said walking in the room.

"Yes the nymphs were kind enough to tell me what happened after I passed out on Mt Tam." I said "Although I'm kinda surprised they knew."

"Earning a gift from a primordial tends to be big news." Hades said coldly. "Did you just ask me here to gloat or was there another reason."

"I just wanted to apologize for Bianca, her death is my fault, I got your daughter killed." I said.

For the first time I saw Hades expression soften, not that I saw him all that much. "You have nothing to apologize for she would have gone there anyway." He said.

"Is any way I can bring her back could I trade my…" I began.

"No." Hades said. "I appreciate the sentiment but you shouldn't throw your life away so easily." He walked over and put his hand on my shoulder, it felt comforting and very un Hades like, then he smiled which also had a warm feel to it and not something you expect from the lord of the dead "I can see the possibility of something great in you don't waste it regretting the past, use it to do better in the future."

After that Hades walked to the door and opened it revealing Artemis who had a look of 'how did you beat me here'. "Hey Perseus." She said walking in. She glanced around the room and started rustling through some papers. "How are you feeling?"

"Ok I can't really feel anything below my neck but the nurse said it was because of the drugs." I joked.

Artemis let out a somewhat un Artemis like giggle, short but cute "Hopefully someone doesn't try to do something before you can use your arms again, Apollo's been known to do his fair share of pranks."

"So I should sleep with one eye open." I laughed "What are you looking for?"

"Apollo won't talk to me so if I'm going to get him to talk to me I have to ambush him outside his palace and for that I need his schedule." She said. "What about you, what did you want to see me for."

"It's about Bianca." I said.

Immediately she dropped the papers and walked over "If you're going to apologize don't. You did everything you could to protect her." She said.

"I still bought her to that mountain, she would still be alive if I had taken her back to camp." I said.

Artemis tensed and if my sense of touch was any better I'd think she was holding my hand, but I didn't dare look, she might take it the wrong way and I liked this sense of closeness. "Don't do that to yourself she made her own choice and I doubt anyone could have changed her mind. She had the spirit of a true huntress in her."

Artemis turned to leave "Top drawer on the right I saw a nymph scribble something down when she was on the phone with Apollo." I said.

"Jackpot." Artemis said opening the draw "Schedule and spare keys to the palace."

Four days later Apollo declared me to be in perfect health and walked me downstairs where my mother was waiting for me "Now remember take two pills a day and don't be afraid to take a nap if you need it." He said.

"What are you my mother?" I complained.

"No I'm your personal physician and most people would kill to get that now stop complaining." He said. We crossed over to my mother and Apollo gave her all the rules I'd have to follow for the next few weeks.

On the drive back mom mentioned that due to reasons that she wouldn't go into we had to move to a different apartment in the same building. Once we stepped into our new home I was practically blinded by all the Christmas decorations "Wow you really went all out this year." I said.

"True I kind of got carried away but that's besides the point." She said pushing me towards a really big present the size of a person. "I know Christmas isn't for a few more days but I need you to open this one now."

Just as I was about to touch the wrapping paper Annabeth jumped jumped out. "Ahh!" I screamed jumping backwards and tripping over the couch.

The sound of laughter followed "Oh very funny." I groaned dragging myself off the ground "You know I've grown to expect that kind of stuff from mom but not you Anna...did you die your hair black?"

"Actually no I didn't." Annabeth said through fits of laughter "Scaring you wasn't even the point I just couldn't help myself. The main point was this." she said pointing to her T-shirt, it was black and had "Annabeth…" written in white with an arrow pointing to the back.

"Okay?" I said confused. Annabeth spun around and struck a pose with both thumbs pointing to her back which read "...Percy's new big sister."

"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" I asked.

"That and then some." Mom replied "Annabeth is officially my adoptive daughter and your father performed a blood adoption making her your half sister. That's why we had to move, the new bedroom is Annabeth's."

"Yes!" I yelled pulling Annabeth into a bone crushing hug that she returned and then mom joined in as well.

"We should probably go unpack only the kitchen supplies are out." Mom said.

"Come on if we can find my chess board I'll play you for who gets to choose their room." Annabeth laughed as I was half dragged after her.
