AN: Here's the new chapter I hope you like it. I wrote it using this voice typing program which is great because I can work on the chapters while i'm driving or working now. The down side is were are a lot of errors, I tried to proof read it and I think I got them all but if I missed any I'm sorry.
Chapter 43
Percy POV
"Percy are you even paying attention?" Emily whispered trying not to interrupt the movie for the other patrons.
I nodded quickly and look back the movie, normally I wouldn't be able to think about anything else but lately all I can feel is this sense of dread. Everytime I think about Annabeth I just get this overwhelming feeling that she's not okay. I tried asking my brother and even calling my father but I hadn't gotten anywhere. They just kept saying not to worry about it. Glancing at Emily I felt a little guilty. I had dragged her out to this movie she didn't want to see because I wanted to and now here I was not in paying attention to it. I did my best focus on the movie but by the time it had ended I honestly couldn't tell you anything about the plot.
"Are you okay Percy?" Emily asked as we were walking out of the theater.
"Of course why do you ask?" I replied with a nervous laugh hoping she'd buy it.
Emily responded by giving me this look that I wasn't fooling anyone. "Well for one you been acting weird all month and you weren't even paying attention to the movie you've been raving about wanting to see all year. Now what's really going on?"
I didn't want to lie to her but how do you explain to your mortal girlfriend the troubles that come with being a demigod. "Well it's kind of hard explain, but there's a lot of stuff going on with my dad's family and it's just really been waiting on me lately. Really is nothing that you need to worry about how about we go down to that Bakery you like and grab some cinnamon scones?"
"Cinnamon scones?" Emily said almost drooling "Yeah lets-No! You're not getting off that easily." she snapped. "Now I'm your girlfriend and you need to trust me so what is really going on?"
"Like I said it's hard to explain-" I began but Emily wasn't having any of it.
"Then dumb it down or put it in a way that isn't so complicated." she demanded.
Rubbing my temples and frustration I sighed. "Okay well basically a few of my cousins are in danger and they need help and everyone keeps telling me to stay put and let other people handle it and it's driving me crazy."
"well maybe they have a point." Emily said. "Sometimes things are just out of your control you have to be able to let others help you from time to time. You said you have a big family on your father's side right? Well then let them help out where they can."
"I know I can't do everything but right now I'm not even doing anything. They need help and what am I doing I'll go to the movies and spending time with my girlfriend."
"Your beautiful girlfriend" Emily added with a Sly smirk.
I had to laugh "yes my very beautiful girlfriend and while I enjoy our time together immensely, I'm not doing anything to help out." I said getting more frustrated at every word "I just wish I wasn't trapped at home doing nothing even if I didn't help out directly. I just wish I could be doing something." I snapped
Emily smiled Softly and squeezed my hand. "I know and that's one of the reasons I like you. But you need to calm down. All this worrying is going to get you nowhere, besides you always run into things head first without thinking. Maybe the reason why your parents want you to stay home is so that you'll think through your actions for once. I for one have confidence that when the time comes you'll know what you need to do."
(3 am the same night)
I sighed as I left a note on the table, the last time I did something like this mom was furious. But I don't have a choice despite what Apollo and my family have said I know there's something up with my dreams. They're not normal even if I don't understand exactly how that is so. And after this last one I can't hold off any longer Annabeth's in trouble that I need to be there.
Annabeth POV
"Any ideas?" Thomas asked.
I shook my head, I knew the maze could be unpredictable but I never thought it would end up in a Coliseum of Antaeus. I only hoped that the spider that Hephaestus gave us would find us once we got through. "We'll just have to work our way through the rounds." If there's one that I can count on is the rules of the Coliseum anyone who enters uninvited must win three rounds and then they are allowed passage.
Up in the stands Antaeus rose from his throne "Today for your entertainment we have a series of Team battles lined up. Luke son of Hermes wishes for his army to be granted passage through my domain an honor none before and have been granted. But I am a reasonable man if his forces can prove themselves greater than those that reside in Camp Half-Blood I will grant his request." A cheer rose from the crowd, each creature seemingly eager for both the battle and the downfall of their enemies the Olympians.
Looking down on us the Giant said in a booming voice "If you can defeat the three Warriors your fellow demigod has selected for you to fight against I will grant you passage as well."
"Understood." I replied happy for the current turn of events as this would work out better for us. Now we only had to win one fight instead of three a piece.
"Now bring in the challengers!" Antaeus bellowed.
Across from us a bronze gate slowly rose And out walked a cyclops with a horned helmet and battle axe. On his right was a boy with an eye patch over his left eye wielding a sword and shield combo. On the left of the cyclops was a creature I hoped to never see, the Chimera.
