The feline girl's steps were heard from far away. At least not for human ears, so a certain blonde wouldn't hear a thing. She was just walking to school on a normal Monday morning, tired as hell of course as she couldn't sleep on Sunday night. Maybe playing video games with that dork late at night wasn't the best idea.
Catra was running like a sprinter at this point. She is really good at sports, so a bystander would totally believe she is an athlete or something similar to that. She actually tried various sports, as she excels in them. While Adora is kinda the brain part. They complement each other in that sense.
The weight on her back was close to none, as she usually doesn't really bring any kind of educational book. She probably just carries comics or manga. Lucky for her they don't do inspections at the entrance gate, because they would definitely kick her out, or would get a detention for not fitting school regulations.
So she was speeding with the wind, even so much that she bumped into the girl harder that she intended to. That meant, Adora immediately threw the book out of her hand (As to why she carried it, it probably didn't fit in her bag, seriously) but Catra with the great reflexes, catched it with her tail, like it was no big deal. But, that didn't go as she planned.
That specific book was so heavy, it immediately landed on her tail, which caused a pain to travel through her whole body. It was almost equal to the pain she would get if someone hit her intimate part. Well, her tail was kinda a private part too.
"OH FUCK!" - She yelled, while the book was still on her tail. Her breath was heavy and she started to lean on her knees, keeping her cool in front of Adora as much as she could.
Adora managed to recover from the bump, she didn't even know what hit her, but Catra's shout gave her the idea. She already started acting stupid and it's only just the beginning of the day. She realized her friend was struggling, and quickly got the book from the ground.
"Oh my god. This hurts so freaking bad." - Catra whined, while holding her tail up, actual tears appearing in her eyes. She actually looked cute like this, a change of pace, because she usually acts badass or rude. But Adora didn't prefer this one for only one reason, her friend was in pain.
"I'm sorry. But maybe... you shouldn't have bumped into me." - Adora said with a straight face.
"Sorry, Blondie, I was just trying to run from the cops. So I gotta go!" - She started running, while Adora looked in front of her, searching for the cops in panic. Until she heard the other girl's laugh from behind, and that's when she got it, she was messing with her again.
Like even if it was a stupid thing to believe, you never know with Catra. It hasn't happened before that the cops were onto her, well, not one she knows of, but it's really not hard to imagine such a thing happening with her. She is a delinquent, and everyone knows that in school. I mean, she even has piercings and all that. That doesn't indicate that she is one, but her behavior does.
Adora shrugged, not intending to turn around as she started walking again. She was trying to ignore the girl's presence. Sometimes she thinks about how they stayed together so long after this much teasing and annoyance, but this girl wouldn't be able to live without this troublemaker.
Catra rushed to her, and put her hands around her shoulder.
"What's with the grumpiness? You didn't manage to sleep enough?" - Catra asked, grinning at her. She knew exactly that's what happened, as she insisted on more runs of the game they were playing. It got a bit dragged on. That 'last game' became the second one each time.
"Can you maybe find a game that has an ending so we don't have to play basically all night? I should at least sleep before 2 AM. That's when you sleep the deepest, Catra." - Adora said all so knowingly. She really just tried to convince the girl this is not normal. That's one reason she can't concentrate at school, being sleepy and all. If her friend would just work on this, maybe she would pass each subject without sweating it so much.
"Great facts, Adora. Do you see someone that cares? Wait, I'm gonna ask that girl over there." - She said, already starting walking that way, if Adora wouldn't have grabbed her arm.
"Forget it, you never listen." - She showed a bit of sadness. That one emotion that Catra didn't like seeing, although it is thanks to her that the blonde feels this way.
"Okay yeah, maybe we should just play till 1:59" - She said, motioning with her hand. Adora's moody face didn't improve. - "Hey, I know you are a fast sleeper. Maybe it will get into the record book." - She laughed, but the blonde just walked past her at a much higher speed.
Catra took a breath, and shook her head so she would stop acting this foolish. She always does that when she wants to look cool in her eyes, but it just makes her more unlikable.
"Adora, don't be moody, just messing with you, you know I love you." - More than one way, but she would rather keep that to herself.
"Yeah I know, what if I'm faking it?" - She said, and that made the feline stop again, while Adora outpaced her. Catra started laughing.
"Ohoho, I see the improvement, young cadet." - She said and they walked into the school.
As soon as they arrived, Catra's friends were there, like they were waiting for her all this time. Which is weird, because you would think these kinds of friend groups wouldn't give a damn about each other. They were just as cool as Catra and it really didn't fit Adora's presence. She felt like an outsider. She doesn't talk to these people much. They might be great, you shouldn't judge at first sight.
Catra's friends:
Eden:

Axel:

Yeah, they look cool, whatever. Adora might as well, just go. She really doesn't fit in.
"Wait, Adora. Um... you want to go somewhere after school... maybe?" - Catra asked while leaving Eden and Axel behind, who were talking to each other. They seemed like they were having genuine communication, not just talking her out. They didn't do that, Adora was being paranoid. Catra would never hang out with those kinds of people. Though, it made Adora a bit jealous that she cannot be this cool.
"Well, I have to do the homework for the project." - Adora said, looking away, kinda keeping her distance. Close to these people, she always feels smaller.
"What project?" - Catra asked with an eyebrow raise.
"You know, you have to do this too. You have to write an abstract of a novel of your choice. I mean, just a part of it." - Adora said, searching for the book she chose a part from.
"Yeah, already done that. It was e-asyy." - Catra stretched out that word, like Glimmer would do. Maybe she spends too much time in Adora's group. Even if it's really not much.
"Aham, hard to believe. Did you cheat on it or something?" - Adora asked, unimpressed.
"How rude. The first thing you think about me..." - Catra said, closing her eyes and bending her chin up.
"Let me see it then." - Adora was holding her hand out to receive the paper. Catra is either lying and she hasn't done it or she was cheating it somehow. Catra pulled off her bag from her back and opened it to grab the paper that didn't exist.
"Oh, I forgot at home." - Catra said and Adora looked in her bag and only found a comic. She sighed.
"You really should improve your methods, Catra." - She said, then turned around, and walked away.
"So is that a no?!" - Catra yelled after her, still hoping for a yes. Adora just waved that indicated it is definitely a no.
Okay we have to do something about this.
