They were in the car, driving to the elementary school that Adora's little brother was attending. The car ride was silent, which made Adora glance at Catra a few times, wondering what had gotten into the other girl. Usually she messes around even in the car, like a hyperactive furball, which is sometimes quite dangerous, as the blonde girl's attention is on her, not on the road. So considering that, Adora is grateful for this silence, 'cause she can drive in peace, but she was a bit worried about her best friend.
Catra was looking out of the window, fidgeting with her hands. She was a bit nervous about the song, because it is not just any song. She actually had some thoughts, and scribbles and some songs she wrote, and she showed them to Adora, but they were never finished completely, and they weren't that serious. Sometimes she was just goofing around.
"You okay, Catra?" - Adora asked, because she couldn't take this anymore. Maybe she's acting like this, because she didn't tell her about Sam? But she was sure Catra was hanging out with others, other than Eden and Axel. I mean, the cat girl is pretty popular.
"Yeah, I'm just... sleepy." - That probably was true, but not the whole truth, and Adora knew this.
"You see what I'm talking about?" - She said jokingly, trying to make the atmosphere a bit lighter.
"I'm only sleepy because we are in a moving vehicle, not because of games." - Catra shrugged, and it seemed like she was still gloomy. They stopped at a red light, which gave Adora time to concentrate on the girl fully.
"Look, I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Sam. And we might even have a thing. It was bad of me, because I'm sure you would say something if you were meeting with a guy-" - Adora said, not quite getting the point. I mean, how would she, if Catra doesn't say anything to her.
"Yeah, that's not gonna happen." - Catra said, still not looking away from the window. Adora was looking at her, but luckily it was still red.
"Okay, dating is off limits for you. But eventually you will find someone." - Adora went on.
"Yeah, sure..." - It was starting to annoy Adora, that Catra wasn't even looking at her.
"Catra! Look at me." - This did cause Catra to look at her. Her expression didn't say anything. She had a huge poker face on. How she spoke didn't match her look. There was a big pause, where they were just staring at each other, until Catra's glance moved to the traffic light.
"You know, now the road should be more interesting than I am." - She said, while the person in the car behind them pushed the horn, which made a loud noise, that snapped Adora back.
She darted her head and started driving again, not really getting forward in this conversation with Catra.
When they arrived at Levi's school, he was talking with his friend, then noticed his sister's car, and they said goodbyes, then grabbed his skateboard, and started running towards them. He opened the door to the backseat, and threw his skateboard to the other side, while climbing in.
"Hey, little man." - Catra greeted, while turned around and held her palm up for a high five. Levi slapped his palm to Catra's with such energy. Catra and Levi got along pretty well, this little guy loved the cat girl, because it wasn't hard for Catra to sink down to the level of a 12 years old and goof around with him.
"Hey Cat, imagine this, I got a B on my math test. A B! Can you imagine?" - Levi said with full of joy, while he grabbed the back of the seat's headrest and pulled himself up to be closer to Catra, while he spoke to her.
"Nice job, kiddo. I know you had it in you. You see how amazing my tutoring is?" - Catra said jokingly, while smirking at Adora, who was obviously the one who tutored her brother.
"As if." - Adora said, shoving Catra a bit. - "Hello to you too, Levi." - She said, smiling at her brother.
"Hey, Sis. Also, I was so fast this time that I finally managed to get a pancake from the cafeteria." - He immediately turned his attention back to Catra. We can say he was obsessed with her. He loved his sister, but when the cat girl was around, he went crazy over the girl.
"Good, because the race is on 'till the house." - Catra yelled, which made Levi open the car door to start running, taking the girl's words seriously.
"Okay, we are not running anywhere. There wouldn't be much point to the car then." - Adora said smiling and Levi closed the door, laughing along with Catra.
"Eh, we would outrun you even with your car, Adora." - Levi joked, which made Catra laugh even harder, while she hit the top of the storage compartment.
"Considering how slow she drives!" - Catra shouted through laughter as she couldn't contain herself. She loved it when she could tease her crush with Levi.
"Okay, I'll just ignore you idiots, and start driving." - Said Adora, more to herself, as those dorks wouldn't listen at this point.
Now the car ride was livelier than before. Well, to be more precise, now it was lively. They turned on the radio, listened to it in a high volume. They played with the volume, because Catra always turned it up, then later on, Adora turned it down, because it was too loud and because she started speaking and couldn't hear her own voice. But she always forgot to turn it back up, so Catra did the honor.
"Catra, Catra! Rap something for us!" - Levi asked, jumping in his seat, until he saw Adora's glare through the rear view mirror and calmed himself down a bit, but not enough to not anticipate the girl's rapping.
"Okay okay, you wanna hear a freestyle?" - Catra said just as energetically. Levi's face lit up while Adora was just rolling her eyes. - "I'm gonna find a beat." - She said, scrolling down her phone screen.
"But try it without swear words, okay?" - Adora added, because she knew Catra wasn't known for not using those typical words, and a 12 years old is with them. This shouldn't be the thing he hears, even though he probably hears it a lot in school. But at least, he doesn't need to hear it everywhere. Well, at home he definitely won't, because Adora never swears. Catra on the other hand... she just fills those gaps in the blonde.
"Okay, that's gonna be a challenge." - Catra said grinning, while Adora looked at her with a straight face. You could hear Levi's chuckle in the back at this. - "Just joking." - She said, while winked at Levi. Adora looked back to the road, a half smile curving up at the corner of her lips.
"Okay I found one, here we go!" - She said as she pushed the play button, waiting a few minutes to get into the rhythm of the beat then she went on fire with her freestyle.
(This is what Catra raps but without the swear words. Imagine something nicer there :))

When she finished, Levi almost broke the window as he was waving his hands around like a maniac. Adora was impressed, but she showed it less noticeably. Even to the point, it wasn't even noticeable, because Catra was trying to look at her, if Levi wouldn't go crazy back there.
"That was so badass! You have to come to my school once! I wanna show it to Mark!" - He said, going on with the energy.
"Thank you, little bro." - She said, smiling at the energetic boy.
"Hmm, except for one thing..." - Adora started, which made Catra look at her. It was like Levi didn't even hear it, because he was boxing in the air and was doing some other interesting stuff Adora couldn't quite place. But she looked at her best friend from the corner of her eyes. - "...If my hearing is correct, I heard a curse word that starts with an 'S'." - She said, grinning at her.
"Really? That can't be, I paid attention to this." - Catra said, while thinking where she said that word. Not like she remembered much as to what she said overall. It just came with the flow.
"Yeah, 'Shit'!" - Levi shouted, while finishing the sentence with a roar of laughter.
"Levi!" - Adora shouted at him, sharply looking at him through the rear view mirror.
"Oh shit- I mean, sorry... I tried, sorry." - Catra seemed genuinely sorry while Adora looked at her and saw she was holding her head. She chuckled.
"It's okay." - She said, and then looked back to the road as she continued. - "Thanks for rapping to him. Even thought, I know you don't like singing in front of other people. But you can make him so happy with just this. And... it was pretty impressive." - It was really strong, and Adora was indeed impressed how much lyrical talent her best friend has.
"No problem. I would do anything for you." - She said, only realizing how romantic it sounded when it left her mouth. - "...and your brother." - That's how she tried to save it. Adora smiled at that.
"Yeah, I have the best friend ever." - She said with glitter in her eyes. It made Catra happy, even though deep inside it hurt her a bit too. But overall, she was grateful she could do a nice thing to her friend.
