Catra and Adora spent a few hours at Adora's room, working on their individual project. While Catra was reading her singled out novel, Adora checked on Levi, because he was doing his own homework simultaneously. Everything went great and even Catra had fun doing this, while she joked around with Adora, while writing her abstract.

She wrote some funny sentences that were actually true facts but Adora didn't want to risk it with the teacher, so she told Catra to rewrite it, and it was a surprise how cooperative the feline girl was. Adora expected her to pick a quarrel with her for not doing what she wants, but that never came. She just agreed and changed it to a more suitable one.

"Okay, and I'm finished." - Adora said, puting the dot at the end of her sentence. Adora was sitting on her bed, while catra was lying on her stomach on the ground and was still writing hers. She wrote like half a page and to say the least, she was weirdly invested in this. - "Catra?"

"Wait..." - She said, but not rudely, as she continued writing her sentence.

"Did you now realize homework can be interesting?" - She asked the girl, lying down the same way as Catra on the edge of her bed, so she would get a great view of the girl's abstract.

"This one actually is." - She said, still not looking up from her paper, that surprised Adora. And what shocked her even more was the fact that Catra was even wagging her tail.

"I can see you're enjoying it." - She said with a smile. Then she couldn't take this anymore, how cute her best friend was. She jumped on the other girl. She caught Catra off guard, while the girl yelped as a reaction.

"Adora!" - She yelled, as she accidently pulled a line with her pen, but luckily it didn't make a mess of her writing. She will just tear down that part of the paper.

But what made a mess of her was Adora. When she turned to her back, to see the girl, she noticed that the blonde was lying on her stomach and pretty close to her private part. It made Catra red immediately. She pushed the other girl away fastly as a reflex, then sat up, covering her crotch.

"Auu, that wasn't soft." - Adora said, rubbing her arm.

"You jumping on me wasn't either. I didn't expect a wrestling move from you." - Catra said, as she moved her hands away, looking down a bit, but everything seemed fine.

"You were so cute, seeing you so deeply invested in your work." - She said with a mushy face.

"Oh shut up." - Catra said as she threw her pen into Adora's lap. The blonde grabbed the pen and was looking at it, like she was thinking of something. - "What?"

"I'm just... proud of you. You've never done anything like this before." - Adora said delightfully. Catra smiled at that.

"I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you for helping, instead of giving up on me." - Catra answered, looking down at her lap, feeling flustered a bit. Her effort did work at the end of the day.

"Well, you can thank it all to yourself. You did the work, not me. And I actually read it while you were working on it, and it seemed decent." - She said, while standing up. She gave the pen back to the cat girl, who was looking up at her.

"Of course, I mean, I'm pretty smart if I want to be." - She said presumptuously as she closed her eyes and bent her chin up.

"Sure you are." - Adora said through laughing, as she poked Catra's forehead, who layed back down on her back, pretending to be hurt.

"And when did you get so strong? I can feel the erupting pain in my head." - She said exaggeratedly, while holding her head.

"Such an actress..." - Adora said while walking outside of the room to check on Levi again. Catra quickly got up, totally forgetting about her abstract as it was just laying down on the floor. She followed Adora to Levi's room, who was nowhere to be seen.

That's when they heard the sound of the piano, so they walked downstairs and saw the boy, playing a simple track. Levi probably finished with his homework, which Adora will look at later. Now, she didn't want to interrupt his practices. She decided to go to the kitchen and put together some sandwiches for them.

Catra walked to the boy, and when he stopped playing, he looked up at her.

"I don't know, Cat. I don't like what I'm doing." - He seemed a bit sad, even his voice was. Catra gave him a soft smile, then sat down next to him. Catra was great with instruments. It is true that her strong suit is the guitar. She basically plays like a professional. Although, somehow she has natural musical talent, and it wasn't hard for her to pick up other instruments.

"Try paying attention to my fingers." - She said, then played the track to show how to play it properly.

Adora was listening to this while making the so-called dinner of the day, the perfectly put together sandwiches. What Catra was playing... It was so relaxing. For a long moment, she felt like she was in a forest where there weren't any noises or any disturbing sound, which she can hear in her everyday life. It was so peaceful and melodic, she could listen to it everyday. To be honest, everything Catra plays, she could listen to it all day long. She was so incredibly talented. She still doesn't get why the girl doesn't want to perform in public. She would be so popular.

But at the same time, she felt extremely special, that she is one of the few people that can hear the beautiful voice and plays of this girl.

When Catra finished, she offered the keyboard to Levi, who tried playing and he actually played better this time. There were mistakes of course, but Catra showed him how to do it, and corrected his mistakes.

Adora made the sandwiches, she already served them on the table, but then she was staring at them with a soft smile. She was so grateful to Catra that she spent her time helping out her little brother. And this sight just proved that there are things that Adora wouldn't be able to do. That everyone has something they feel passionate about and are really good at. It's just hard to find that specific spark sometimes. And even when you find it, sometimes you don't realize that it is exactly what you were searching for.

Adora feels like this is the case with Catra. She doesn't accept how unbelievable she is. That's why maybe a push from the world outside would be a confirmation of her talents towards her. But a very small selfish part of her doesn't want to let the world see this. It is only a small part that lays deep down in her, but it still exists, she cannot deny that.

When they stopped playing for a few seconds, Adora cut in, using the opportunity.

"Guys, dinner is ready." - Levi jumped up from his seat, and rushed to the table, waiting for the others to arrive, and start consuming that sandwich. It was simple, but looked delicious.

They all sat down, like a small family and said 'have a nice meal', then started eating their portion.

When they finished, Catra helped Adora gather the plates and cups, putting it in the sink.

"I'll wash them later, I really want to hear that song now." - Adora said, looking at Catra who just put down the plates. Honestly, she kinda forgot about that, and as soon as Adora mentioned it, a flash of nervousness slashed through her body. And also, she would have prefered to perform it to the blonde only, but her little brother is here now, which puts a bit more pressure on her.

"Y-Yeah, sure uhm... I can play it." - She played it cool, except for the slight stuttering.

She sat down to the piano, while Adora told Levi to turn off the tv just for the time Catra performs. Levi anticipated it like a fan, who is waiting for his favorite artist at a concert.

Catra tried to lose herself in the moment. Tried to concentrate only on herself. This was important for her. She could tell in herself that what she feels now is way more nerve wracking than if she would perform in front of a big crowd. Adora means so much to her, she herself feels like a whole crowd. But a very important one. And that is the difference. She wanted to fit her expectations.

She sighed while closing her eyes, getting into the mood of the song and showing emotions behind it.

Adora couldn't keep her eyes away, even though Catra hasn't done anything yet. She could see how the aura of the girl changed. She seemed more mature.

Catra delicately placed her fingers on the keyboard, then took a deep breath, and started truly playing her newly written song for the first time.

As soon as she finished, Levi ran to her and hugged her, like his life depended on it. Catra was laughing softly at the gesture, then reciprocated the motion.

Adora stuck to the ground, her eyes lost in the girl's, and every time Catra looked at her during the performance, she felt her heart throb in that moment. Especially when she did it while singing the lyrics 'You're so very special'. She really thinks that? Is Adora that special to her? It almost felt like she meant it in a romantic way, but that cannot be the case. It is really a pleasant feeling that she means this much to Catra, because how she acts and interacts with her, does not portray these feelings behind her actions, like... at all.

Adora held her hands in front of her chest and was about to walk and hug Catra as well, and talk about the meaning behind the lyrics she wrote, but then the door opened and two figures walked inside.

One was her mom, but the other one was Sam. What is he doing here?
