When they stepped into the house... oh wait, when 'he' stepped into the house, it felt like the whole environment turned mournful. Okay that might be strong, and probably Catra was the only one who felt that way. Anyway, she didn't like the sight of this guy, and he totally ruined this moment with Adora.

"Wow Catra, I didn't know you could sing this well." - Mara said, Adora and Levi's mother. Sam was looking at her, impressed as well. It must be just a mask he put on so Adora would like him better.

This hate that Catra felt towards the guy was strongly boosted by her jealousy. Like for real, she didn't even know Sam, and actually, he seems nice, but her jealousy hazed this characteristic of his.

"Your voice is amazing. We should make a collab sometimes." - Said Sam, which gave Catra the idea that he is a singer of some sort as well. Instinctively, she narrowed her eyes at the guy, who flinched a bit, almost noticeably.

"I'm doing it solo." - Catra was a bit angry about the fact that Sam can sing as well. He must be way better than she is, and knowing that he probably sang to Adora as well, made a pain slash her heart.

"Well, the offer stays." - Sam said, while getting off his boots. Why is he acting like he was here before? It almost seems like he has been here several times already.

Mara went to the kitchen to put some groceries down on the table.

"Did you guys already eat?" - She asked from the other room.

"Yes, Adora made some delicious sandwiches!" - Levi announced, while running to his mother and gave her a hug, then started leaning on her, like a monkey.

"Oh, her specialty." - Mara said jokingly, while rubbing her son's hair.

Talking about the blonde, she was just standing there, looking at Sam. It seemed like her expression was confusion rather than happiness that she could see the guy. Catra was still sitting on the piano's bench, then turned around and started playing some random piece. By the end of the play, she started tapping the floor with one of her feet in her annoyance.

(This is what she plays 'till 0:46 while Adora and Sam talking)

"Sam what are you doing here?" - Adora asked, going around the couch and getting near to him.

"I just wanted to see you." - Sam said, looking down at his hands.

"Why?" - Said Adora, while bending her head a bit, giving him a questioning look.

"If you don't want to, I can go." - Sam said, while pointing at the door and already turning towards it.

"No, I didn't mean it like that, it was just... sudden, and I didn't expect you to be here at night." - Adora said, still looking at him, but his gaze was somewhere else.

"Look, I brought you this." - Sam said, while searching in his pocket. He then pulled it out, and it was a little blue figure with huge puppy eyes. Adora's eyes shone up at the sight. It was a little bag decoration. Adora had some of those.

"Aww, this is so cute." - She said, while taking the figure and holding it with her fingers.

"As soon as I saw it, I knew you would love it." - Sam said, rubbing the back of his neck. Adora suddenly hugged him, which caught him off guard.

"Thank you. I do love it." - She said, still not letting him go. Sam hugged her back.

That was the breaking point for Catra to shoot up from the bench with a loud smash at the piano. She was snarling, but luckily she was showing her back.

"I think I'm gonna go now." - She said, not even looking at them, while she rushed upstairs for her stuff. Adora looked at her as well, while still hugging Sam.

"Be right back." - She said as she ran after Catra.

She actually reached her midway, but when Catra went into the room she slapped the door in Adora's face, because she didn't know the girl was following her. She started packing her stuff hastily.

"Okay, auu." - Said Adora, which caught Catra's attention, while the other girl was holding the door. Without saying an apology or anything like that, she continued packing, kneeling on the ground.

"Don't forget your abstract." - Said Adora, while walking close to the girl, looking down at her. Catra stopped for a moment.

"Yeah, right." - She said, creasing the paper into her bag, like it was trash, meant to be thrown away later on. Adora sighed at that. Catra stood up, throwing one of the bag's straps around her shoulder. She looked at the blonde for a second. But for why, she didn't know. Was she waiting for something from her?

"Do you want to talk about the son-" - Adora started but Catra cut her off.

"No, Adora. It didn't mean anything either way. I just wrote it 'cause I was bored, nothing special." - How she said the word 'special' made Adora sad. Like she just admitted that Adora wasn't precious to her. - "Anything else?"

"What happened all of a sudden? Your whole mood changed." - Adora asked, looking deep into her eyes. Catra looked away.

"Just realized I should be home earlier than I usually am." - Since when does Catra give a damn about that? Her mother doesn't like her being out late at night, but it happened a thousand times now if not more. And now, it suddenly matters?

"Okay." - Knowing this, Adora still didn't want to hold her up and push the topic.

"Great, have a nice evening." - She said, walking out of the room, leaving Adora behind. Though the blonde followed after her slowly.

Catra walked downstairs, seeing how Sam was helping Mara, unpacking the groceries, while Levi was sitting on the couch. When he saw Catra putting her shoes on, he ran to her.

"Cat, are you already going?" - He said worriedly and felt down. Hope was still sparkling in his eyes.

"Yeah, little dude. Tomorrow is school, I have to go to bed early." - She couldn't have told a bigger lie to this kid. Adora heard this as she was walking down the stairs.

"But you always play with Adora past midnight." - Levi stated the facts, that indeed happens a lot of times. Catra looked at Adora with narrowed eyes. The blonde was looking back at her, confused why Catra was acting the way she does.

"Adora has other plans for the night." - She said, then straightened herself and rubbed Levi's hair. - "Bye kiddo, bye guys." - She said, not even waiting for a response while she closed the door behind her.

Adora walked to the kitchen, leaning against one of the chairs.

"Why did Catra leave so early?" - Mara asked, while packing the milks into the fridge. Sam started washing the dishes. Adora moved her eyes to the dark haired boy while answering.

"She had to be home early... For real, this time." - She said, smiling sadly.

She had no idea what had gotten into her best friend, but for sure, it had something to do with Sam.
