Seth stretches his arms out with a smirk. He's home, back on Smackdown, back here leading the Digidestined to victory in the Digital World. Things are pretty good, honestly. Yes, it's going to take time to rebuild what he had before, the easy influence and control he held over his fellow competitors, but he knows it won't be so bad. He just needs to be patient, and everything will fall into place, as it always does.

Betamon is by his side, watching and laughing, but the other Digidestined are behind them, unimpressed looks on their faces as they take in Seth's general actions. "What's his problem?" Ziggler mumbles, stuffing his hands into his pockets and looking away.

Shinsuke stands for a few moments, watching blankly, before turning and walking in the opposite direction, the flashing on their maps growing in intensity the longer they wait. "Come," he calls over his shoulder. "We must figure this out."

The others cast one last glance at Seth before taking their leave, following Shinsuke into a forest of barren, charred trees. Seth doesn't notice right away, and within seconds, they're all out of sight among the woods.

Betamon notices, and tugs at his pant leg. "Seth!" his partner hisses. "Seth! The others-"

"Do they want to join in on an impromptu celebration?" he asks, turning to look... just to find they're the only ones remaining here. His jaw drops. "Son of a-!"

Gritting his teeth together in rage, he marches into the trees, following Betamon's directions, and tries to follow the path of trampled grass and broken sticks before him, but he's not very experienced when it comes to nature and signs of recent travel, so he's never sure if they're on the right track or not.

Then the ground before him craters and he only gets a split second to realize what's about to happen, letting out a sharp yell before gravity shifts and he feels nothing under his feet- then a rough rush of wind against his body, and... a hard impact, pain stabbing up his core. All he can do is lay there and blink until the dark spots lurking at the edge of his vision expands and, ultimately, claims him.

Not that far away, the other Digidestined are still following their digivices. "I guess Seth decided not to bother, huh?" Tamina asks, glancing back over her shoulder.

Most of the others just shrug it off, Shinsuke the only one to actually bother responding. "He is leader of sorts, he will figure it out," he says, thumbing at his digivice. "We find him later if we have to. For now, village."

"Right," she murmurs, deciding to let it go for now, though something is niggling at her, making her feel like something's not quite right.

Her only comfort is that, at least, Seth has one of the stronger digimon partners out of all of them with him, and that will hopefully keep him safe.
