It's brutal, sitting here waiting. Shinsuke can only imagine how Betamon feels. He scrapes shapes in the dirt with his finger, mind wandering as he thinks about the next surf he'd like to ride.

"What are you doing?" Carmella asks softly and he looks up at her with an intense look on his face. "Can I join?"

She sits next to him when he nods, and the two of them begin making looping, drifting kind of shapes in the sand. Carmella grins a little, the bone deep weariness on her face easing away the more she focuses on what she's tracing between them. Nothing sensible, just shapes, but it's enough to pass the time, to distract them. Before long, Coronamon and Floramon join them, and more and more of the dirt becomes covered in shapes and initials, the digimon giggling as they leave their own little mark on this part of the digiworld.

They're still sitting there, lost in their own little world, when Luke joins them, almost looking amused as they work on. Eventually, Shinsuke looks up and spots him, paling. "Luke! Is there news?" he asks, eyes wide as he steps towards the man.

"He is stronger, I think," Luke hedges. "He's been in and out for the last hour or so. Betamon is with him. I think he's going to be ok, we'll know for sure within the next couple of hours."

Shinsuke nods and watches as Luke takes his leave, returning to keep an eye on Seth while he struggles to awaken. Shinsuke sighs and scrubs at his face. "I am relieved," he says. "I am. But... to face having to deal with Seth once more is..." He huffs out a breath and rolls his eyes.

"It's a lot," Carmella offers and Shinsuke huffs out a laugh.

"Yes," he agrees. "Extremely a lot."

She smiles at him. "We'll get through it though. It'll be fine. Come on, let's go tell the others." Side by side, they leave their artwork behind and go to find the others and inform them of the latest.

The best part of things returning to normal, Shinsuke thinks, is soon they can return home, and then once they've all had time to decompress, return to ordinary Digidestined duties. He can't wait.
