It puts Seth's teeth on edge, that even though there are so many of them, that they're fighting with all they've got, Ancient Wisemon is still stronger. Still better than them. Still defeating them soundly. He digs his fingers into his palm, feeling the dull throb of his nails stabbing into his flesh, but he can't stop. He needs to focus, he needs to ignore whatever Ancient Wisemon is trying to do- and god, yes, he's doing something because the others are dropping one by one around Seth. The digidestined who were unable to digivolve their partners go first, collapsing almost soundlessly behind him. Which yeah, had sent a thrill a terror through all of them, but their focus had remained on their partners, on the impossibly powerful digimon before them.

Then Heath fell. And Duftmon collapsed and dedigivolved, limiting their numbers even further.

"Oh, dear,' Ancient Wisemon mocks. "Did something happen to the obnoxious orange haired digidestined? I wonder whatever it could possibly be."

Seth grits his teeth, turning to bark an order at MetalSeadramon, when Matt Cardona drops next. Just hits the ground as quietly as could be imagined, like one minute he was ok, and the next his consciousness had just collapsed. "What are you doing to them?!" Seth yells, watching helplessly as Patamon freefalls to the ground. He breathes a little easier when Beelzebumon collects the little guy and lays him gently to the side, as far away from the battle as he can manage.

"What do you mean?" Ancient Wisemon asks, lips twitching curiously. "I have just been standing here, no? Enjoying the light show your partners have decided to put on for me?" He shrugs and begins to turn back, clearly looking for something.

"What do you want from us?"

"Nothing," Ancient Wisemon says. "Honestly, how little you actually mean to what I've been doing the last couple days... is ridiculous. You would be ashamed if you knew."

Seth grits his teeth, knowing that this means Ancient Wisemon will probably not bother to explain further and he'll get defeated, knocked out like the others before him. "Then explain it fast," Seth says tensely. "I'm very curious, as much at it pisses me off, I'm curious to know just what your goal was. What the point of all this was."

Ancient Wisemon scoffs. "I do not care about your curiosity." He pauses. "But, it is rather difficult to conclude my mission and not share it with anyone, even a worthless human such as yourself. I suppose I may tell you, but you alone."

This time, when Seth looks around, everyone else has disappeared. It's only he, and Seth. Seth's not as surprised or as horrified as he'd expected at this abrupt switch in reality.

Instead he just swallows and looks up at Ancient Wisemon. "Where are we? Where are the others?"

Ancient Wisemon merely sneers down at him, not inclined to respond. "You wished to know why I did all of this, well, I shall tell you."

Seth stands, patiently, and stares up at him, still trying to ground himself by digging his nails into the softer flesh of his palm while he waits.
