Being back on earth after all of the time spent captive in the Digiworld feels strange. Seth's not sure how to handle it. There's something vastly different in a way that he can't explain between being reformed as data and being pure, flesh and blood, on earth. It's always felt new after he's been in the Digiworld for awhile, but there's something truly distinct about it this time around.

Wandering around his home, getting ready for bed, making sure Betamon has had enough to eat to sustain him through the night, and then changing into comfortable clothes to sleep in before crawling into bed all feels... more, than it ever has. The mundane has become a privilege and Seth breathes in deeply as he clings to his sheets, afraid that it all will drift away if he doesn't hold onto it the best he can.

Betamon watches him with a soft, sad smile and murmurs, "We're safe here, Seth. No one can hurt us."

Seth rolls over and looks at his partner, reaching out to graze his fingertips over the smooth, sleek skin over Betamon's eyes. "How long do you think that'll last, Betamon? Think we've eradicated enough bad guys that it can last awhile, at least?" he murmurs, sleep teasing him, but not quite ready to claim him yet.

His partner hums, leans into his touch, and sighs. "Hopefully for a little while, Seth, yeah. I'm not sure. There's always trouble to contend with, but we can at least have tonight, right?"

Seth smiles a little bit. "Yeah, man. We at least have tonight." He chances a glance at his quiet, darkened digivice once more, sitting peacefully on his bedside table, before wrapping Betamon up in a tight hug and holding him close like he's a stuffed animal. "G'night, Betamon."

"G'night, Seth," he murmurs back, already sounding mostly asleep in the warm, safe circle of Seth's arms.

Sleep doesn't come necessarily as easy for Seth that night, but when it does, he sleeps hard and deep for the first time in what feels like weeks.
