The village is demolished, only the gates and a couple of shacks spared from the piles of rubble that surrounds them. Seth isn't sure he's ever seen anything like it. "God," he mumbles, rubbing a hand down his jaw. "I... I don't understand..."

The cluster of Raw Digidestined are crowded around the gates, staring. "What can we do?" Miz mumbles. "What... is there anything?"

"I don't think so," Carmella says softly, tears in her eyes. "They're... it's... completely destroyed."

"All of those digimon," Gable breathes out in disbelief, his eyes wide. "When will it end?"

"I'm not sure it will," Ciampa says. "It happened before us, it'll happen after us."

"Yeah, Ciampa," AJ says, "Good job comforting everyone."

The other digidestined mumble, their partners looking uncomfortable and sad. "I hope we make it in time next time," Asuka says slowly, gaze flickering left to right as she takes in the destruction and horror sprawled out before them.

"I hope there isn't a next time," Owens sighs, scrubbing his hands over his bare arms. "Can we go now, I... can't keep standing here, staring at this."

"Yes," Seth says, pulling out his digivice. "Let's go. I need to talk to Luke anyway." He gets some curious glances but keeps his thoughts to himself until they're back by the hideout. "Luke, do you have a minute?"

Luke looks up with a frown. "Yeah, Seth, just a minute."

Once they're alone in the cavern, Seth squints at some of the screens monitoring the digiworld. "Anything new on Valdurmon?" he wonders.

"Not lately, no. It seems when Ziggler isn't available, Valdurmon quiets. Since he hasn't been back in the digiworld, I've heard very little. I'm not sure what to think about it, but at some point, I may find a way to get Valdurmon's attention so he can try to help us find a way to get a handle on the situation."

Seth nods along. "But if you left Ziggler on earth, then wouldn't Valdurmon stay peaceful? You know what I mean?"

"It's not sustainable," Luke says. "There's always a chance Valdurmon will return at any time, with or without Dolph's presence."

"Yeah, that's true," Seth sighs, leaning back against the wall and crossing his arms over his chest. "Nothing's ever just easy, is it?"

Luke smiles at him, patting his arm. "Unfortunately not," he says. "I'm sorry about the village you all found earlier. I suppose our information was a little dated. I'll calibrate the systems, hopefully this won't happen again."

Seth nods briskly. "Thanks, Luke. I should get back to the others, we're all kind of antsy to get back home after this."

"Ok. Take care, Seth. See you soon."

"Thanks, see you."

Luke watches on the feed as Seth and the other Digidestined take their leave, exhaling slowly. "Hopefully," he mumbles, tapping his fingers on the buttons and switching it over until he pauses on Valdurmon hovering in the air, enhancing the visual feed until it takes up the full wall of screens. "I'm watching you," he tells the digimon. "You won't get away this time."
