True Name: Leo Valdez.
The true name is the most essential part of a Servant's identity. Though the Holy Grail does not give knowledge if the True Name is revealed, it allows for the Servant and Master to research possible weaknesses and the Servant's Noble Phantasms. However, when the True Name is revealed, it boosts the Servant's parameters and the strength of their Noble Phantasms in return.
Current Servant Class: Rider. Part of the Four Horsemen Classes (Assassin, Caster, and Berserker being the other three), so named after the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The Rider class focuses on the use of a vehicle or animal that the Heroic Spirit was famously known for riding during battle. They are weaker in terms of physical parameters compared to the three great knight classes, which consist of the Saber, Archer and Lancer classes. However, they make up for it through their incredibly strong Noble Phantasms, along with great maneuverability.
In terms of members from this class, they consist of royalty, generals, admirals, and knights - if they are in command of a group or mount, they are, by concept, riding it. These mounts can range from normal motorcycles, to armies, to divine beasts. They are given magic resistance, and a stronger variation of the Riding skill compared to the Saber class. A Rider class servant in their mount is extremely dangerous, for they are nearly unstoppable when using it.
Possible Servant Classes: Caster, Avenger.
The Caster class, as listed earlier, is also another member of the Four Horsemen. However, this class focuses more on the use of magecraft or the inventions they made during their lives. They can make items that would never exist in modern times, and create workshops to reinforce the power that they wield. In terms of parameters, they are the weakest aside from the Assassin class, but they have the highest amount of mana reserves out of all seven classes which serves for the magecraft they create. They have the ability to craft mystic codes, and with enough time, noble phantasms. Furthermore, they have the ability to shape and create a territory that would give them an advantage in magecraft.
The members of this class consist of great mages, inventors, religious figures, authors, writers, and even concepts. They can bring their ideas and creations to life, and enforce their will upon reality. Their noble phantasms are the ones that wield the most variety, and influence the physical or mental underestimate a Caster would be to bring about one's own death, for they always have the upper hand.
The Avenger class is the most esoteric of the Servant classes, because it is not determined by a defining concept, but a defining emotion. Specifically, this emotion is hatred. If one can describe Avengers as a whole, they would be the dark side of the Holy Grail. They would've been categorized into different classes if not for the hatred and rage that defines their very being. Whenever someone expresses hatred towards them, they receive that hatred and convert it into strength. Their emotions allow them to generate their own mana, making them almost self-sufficient if this skill is high enough. Furthermore, they have the Oblivion Correction skill, which helps them never forget their hatred and its origins.
Their members consist of those who are defined by their pursuit of vengeance, or their hatred towards humanity as a whole. Some compare them as an upgraded version of the Berserker class, since Avengers lack the madness that makes Berserkers unable to use logic or have the capability to strategize, and instead their hatred makes them even more deadly. However, it should be kept in mind that this class does have a disadvantage; specifically, they lack self-control, and thus need to be kept on a tight leash. If they are not restrained, Avengers are likely to kill everything around them until they are put down, or until they burn themselves (and their masters) dry.
Origin: Modern North America, Divine Parallel World.
In the Proper Human History, Leo Valdez is a character from famous series for young readers. His existence in history is completely fictional, and thus lacking the ability to become a Heroic Spirit. However, the world created by its author, Rick Riordan, actually exists in a parallel world located among the many shards of the Kaleidoscope. It is a world where the Gods never vanished into the Reverse Side of the World, and are still a prominent force in the existence of humanity. The only reason this world hasn't been pruned and turned into a Lostbelt would be the fact that its history is extremely close to that of Proper Human History, stopping it from being cut off by the Quantum Time Locks.
When the White Titan known as Sefar invaded, many divine spirits and Gods were devastated by its invasion. However, the chief gods of each pantheon decided to merge their existence with Alaya so as to preserve their very existence rather than fade away from the minds of men. This allowed all pantheons to actively exist and influence the world of humanity, often having children with mortals. The gods act as the Counter Force of this world, destroying Divine Spirits and phantasmal beasts that threaten the existence of mankind and the world. However, this caused a codependent relationship between them and humanity. If the gods were shot down, humanity would collapse at its seams, and if humanity forgot one of the gods, their unconsciousness would select a new representative for said god.
Demigods act as proxies of the gods, and are the Counter Guardians for humanity. Though they lack the infinite power of Counter Guardians from Proper Human History, they can actively interact with the world around them and enjoy the fruits of life. Monsters actively try to eliminate them so demigods cannot reach their full potential and maintain their existence. Furthermore, when demigods die, they can reach Elysium and have a happy afterlife. This makes them have an appealing existence compared to other Counter Guardians, who are forced to fight and create bloody slaughter for the rest of infinity so that humanity can exist.
However, not everything is sunshine and roses. The gods can interfere with the fates of demigods out of pettiness, cursing them due to minor slights or insults. They are sent to do tasks that are often thankless, such as slaying monsters or collecting the personal belongings of the gods. Finally, their relationships with their divine parents are severely strained since the gods cannot actively interfere with the mortal realm. This often forces the gods to be distant to the point of neglect, and may end up causing psychological issues down the road for the demigods.
One must also consider the fact that monsters actively hunt demigods in order to prevent them from reaching their full potential. Though there are cases where some children are hunted ever since their early years, monsters often pursue their prey when a demigod reaches the age of twelve years old. At this age, they start to manifest their abilities and become easier to detect; however, power is an influential factor when analyzing a demigod's plight. If a demigod has an extreme amount of potential, more dangerous monsters will hunt them with more intensity.
There are different disadvantages for a demigod, though it depends on which pantheon they are born into. However, a recurring trend is that most demigods will find it hard to live in mortal society.
Greco-Roman demigods have their combat instincts misdiagnosed as ADHD, and they end up being labelled as problematic and disruptive as a result. In the meantime, their brains are hardwired to understand Ancient Greek or Latin, and this is misinterpreted as dyslexia. This makes it difficult for them to understand matters of academia unless it is conveyed through the pantheon's languages. All in all, a recipe for a hard time in the mortal world.
However, that is not to say the fates of most demigods are miserable. Greco-Roman demigods can find shelter and training in both Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter, where they are trained in all the skills necessary to live outside of the camps. And if they decide to move on, they can become citizens of New Rome, where they can learn in its university and have happy lives. Furthermore, the demigods who reach adulthood have a tendency to become influential figures in the mortal world.
Alignment: Chaotic Good - The Servant's morality is focused on helping others, but would rather take their preferred course of actions rather than be restrained by the laws of society. That does not mean people with this alignment can't work with groups - it means that they may avoid working with larger organizations due to their tendencies of corruption and ineffectiveness. When it comes to laws, they defy those that they see as restraints stopping them from doing actions they perceive as good, which often causes conflict between those of the lawful good alignment. Some forms of charisma give benefits towards those who have specific types of morality and enhance a figure's parameters.
Hidden Attribute: Heaven. The attribute associated with those who have a strong connection to the Gods or the heavens. Figures who have this attribute are often demigods, descendants of gods, or even divine spirits themselves. Since Leo is a demigod, he qualifies for this alignment since he was born as a son of Hephaestus.
Physical Parameters - The categorization of physical attributes a Servant has. Though letter rankings are one of the more definitive ways of reading these parameters, the difference between humans and a Servant can be interpreted through a numerical system - specifically, a one through two-hundred system. The peak performance of a human would be categorized as a one, while most demigods would qualify for a five, with some of their stronger brethren qualifying for a ten.
To further explain the ranking system of the parameters, one can use this letter to number scale: E=10, D=20, C=30, B=40, and A= 50. If a Servant has a + modifier, it does not mean that it is slightly higher than the letter ranking. Rather, the + can be observed as a 'times two' multiplier, ++ would act as times three, and so on. In the meantime, a minus sign can be observed as a 'divided by two' multiplier. Finally, EX signifies something that breaks this ranking scale, and thus has no limit.
Note that this system also applies for Noble Phantasms, though certain abilities of Noble Phantasms tend to subvert its ranking. However, this numerical quantity does not apply to personal skills. Instead, it follows the basic alphabetical system, with + indicating it's slightly stronger than the letter rank, while - indicates that it's slightly weaker.
Strength: C. The physical strength of a Servant - When a Servant uses a noble phantasm without giving away its true name, the damage given by the blow depends on this rank, though there are weapons that don't rely on this parameter.
Endurance: B. The endurance of the Servant's body, and their combat-focused stamina. However, there are noble phantasms that may increase endurance, or reduce damage to the point that it is completely ineffective.
Agility: A+. The general running speed and reflexes a Servant has. However, it doesn't allow for surprise attacks unless the Servant has the Presence Concealment skill given to the Assassin class. Any attack with a running start can still be sensed by any Servant - whether the Servant can avoid, deflect, or block the blow is a completely different matter.
Mana: A. The mana reserves of a Servant. Compared to the three above parameters, Servants rely on this parameter to provide the magical energy needed for attacks, magecraft, skills, or Noble Phantasms. If endurance can be considered 'physical stamina', then mana can be considered the energy needed during a fight. Without any mana in the Servant's body, their attacks often lose their full strength.
Luck: D-. Luck, or rather, how luck-based events or fate itself may react to a Servant. This can range from losing mere games of chance, to having bad luck during a battle, to fate actively screwing with them. This parameter is usually decided by the kind of luck the Servant had during his life, along with the compatibility between Servant and Master as a team.
Class Skills - They are the skills given to specific Servant classes. Most Servants often have at least two, although some Servants may have three. This depends on the legend of the Servant, and whether such features are prominent enough to warrant being added to the Servant's skills.
Magic Resistance: A. Born in a world where the Age of Gods never faded from the world, Leo was consequently exposed to various types of magecraft, ranging from Charmspeak, Mist Manipulation, and spells of all varieties. He has a high resistance against all types of magecraft because of this, even for a Rider. With Leo's resistance, he would be able to resist and nullify magecraft on par with High Thaumaturgy.
Riding: A+. This skill gives the Rider class authority over any vehicle or mount, allowing them to reinforce the mount's body or break its limits. They would also be able to do maneuvers that no human would be capable of doing while riding any vehicle, and even perform combat maneuvers while riding it. Due to his immense skill with vehicles of all varieties, along with his ability to tame Festus, Leo was given a high Riding skill. He is able to ride nearly all types of mounts despite the fact that he may not have ridden some of them with perfect skill. The only exception would be the dragonkin, and that is because of Festus' mechanical nature.
Blessing of the Forge God: A. This skill is a subspecies of the skill known as divinity. Usually, most servants that have divine heritage are given this skill, and allows them to negate specific mysteries and nullify some forms of damage. If a Servant's divinity is high enough, they may be able to nullify all damage aside from that caused by Noble Phantasms. However, if the relationship between the Servant and their divine parent is strong enough, they gain access to the skills that are associated with said parent.
In this case, this skill represents Leo's nature and powers as a demigod - to be specific, a Son of Hephaestus. Since Hephaestus was commonly known as the Greek god of fire and the forge, Leo was granted multiple skills that follow the abilities he had during life, given to him by his divine heritage. These include: Mana Burst (Flame), Item Construction, Technokinesis, and Knowledge of Weaponry.
Mana Burst (Flame) is a more advanced version of the Mana Burst skill, which infuses a weapon with magical energy. This skill does the same, but also allows the user to unleash fire with every strike. This skill is often found in Heroic Spirits who have some connection to fire as an element, whether it be their divine heritage or through anecdotes. Since Leo is a fire user, the first one to appear ever since the Great Fire of London, it is natural for him to receive this skill.
Item Construction is the ability to manufacture mystic codes, from implements of war to items for daily use. However, the user needs time to gather components and manufacture said items. This skill is usually reserved for the Caster Class, and would've been one of Leo's strongest skills if he were in it. However, due to his Rider Class, its strength has been diminished. Leo has had experience in making what are, almost by concept, mystic codes, most consisting of a divine nature due to their components.
Technokinesis is an extremely rare skill, not because of its connection to technology, but due to its association with an age where magecraft has faded. As technology advanced, the amount of Mystery in the world decreased, making Heroic Spirits that were created during that time weaker and increasingly rare. Thus, those who wield this skill must have an unparalleled connection to technology. Technokinesis often involves the ability to deduce and manipulate a technological item's functions, whether it be electronic or mechanical. It also allows the user to sense traps or bombs of mechanical and electrical nature. Leo has used this power frequently throughout his adventures - whether it be manipulating a bullhorn to even the guardian of Asclepius.
Knowledge of Weaponry is a skill that allows one to deduce the qualities and details of a weapon to an extreme degree - from its place of origin, what beings it killed, to its elemental affinity. Compared to the Aesthetic Appreciation skill, which relies on artistic anecdotes that are connected to a Noble Phantasm, this one just relies on details and information gained through observation. It can be used up close and from afar, though the amount of information depends on the amount of time this skill's user has to observe the weapon in combat. This is a skill inherent to all children of Hephaestus, for they are skilled in making weaponry.
Personal Skills:
Voyager of the Storm - B: A mix of two skills, which are Charisma and Military Tactics. To be specific, this is the talent needed in order to maneuver a ship and persuade its crew with skill.
For further explanation, Charisma is a skill consisting of a person's charm as well as the natural talent to command or unify an army or country. As mentioned before, it has the ability to increase the parameters of the wielder's allies. It is especially useful for group battles, since it allows the user to rally their allies and increase morale, while the reverse is applied to enemy forces. Meanwhile, the Military Tactics skill consists of tactical knowledge used not for one-on-one combat situations, but for battles where multiple groups are mobilized. Thus, Anti-Army Noble Phantasms get an increase in strength with this skill, whiles its user can decrease the effectiveness of foes who wield Noble Phantasms of a similar nature.
This skill mixes both so that a person is able to command a crew or a fleet of ships, having the charisma and tactical knowledge so that his use of them is extremely effective. When using Noble Phantasms that are naval in nature, the user of this skill increases its parameters, while doing the reverse for those with similar Noble phantasms. Leo was the builder of the Argo II — though he was not the leader of a group, the Heroes of Olympus would never have been able to reach Greece without his skill in maneuvering the ship. Therefore, he was given this skill at a higher than average rank.
God-Slayer - A: A skill given to those who have slain divine spirits or gods. Since they have experience in killing gods, they can use this information to their advantage when fighting against those that have divine heritage. When in combat, if an enemy has divinity, the wielder of this skill has their parameters enhanced. In Leo's case, his parameters are given a + ranking. This skill was given to Leo since he defeated the snow goddess Khione, and his feat in destroying the primordial goddess of the earth, Gaea. Thus, his legend engraved him with an inherent advantage over those who have connections to the gods.
Instinct – B+: The ability to instantly identify the best course of action during combat and predict the trajectory of projectiles. At its level, one could argue that it is almost akin to seeing the future, only being disrupted when something alters the senses. In Leo's world, most demigods usually had this type of skill, though it was often misinterpreted as ADHD by the mortal populace. Furthermore, it also had multiple drawbacks such as an inability to completely focus when doing mundane tasks. Since Leo is now a Servant, he receives most of the benefits this skill brings, but without the disadvantages.
The Façade of Happiness - A: This skill is a mix of two skills, these being Espionage and Discernment of the Poor.
To clarify, Espionage does not conceal one's presence, but rather makes the user's presence not feel like that of an opponent's. It causes misunderstandings such as confusing the user for a familiar neighbor, a harmless pebble, a beloved person, and so forth. It allows one to actively talk and interact with other Servants without giving away his own status as a Servant.
Discernment of the Poor, in the meantime, allows one to analyze the behavior of a person and discern their true nature. This can include knowing when they are lying or hiding important secrets. This skill, furthermore, allows one to perceive what goals a person is trying to achieve in combat, giving them a small advantage.
The Façade of Happiness allows one to mask their emotions and thoughts while presenting a cheerful mask, no matter the situation. While this skill is active and not used in combat, the opponent does not see the user as a threat, or even a Servant. Even when it's reduced in combat, it still allows the user to hide their thoughts and emotions. Leo has often been known to wear a mask that allows him to maintain a cheerful demeanor despite his inner feelings, allowing him to have access to this skill.
Noble Phantasms
Tool Belt of Hephaestus - B-A (Anti-Unit): The tool belt Leo found in Bunker Nine, with the magical power to summon any tool as long as its associated with construction. However, since it was used to store multiple Mystic Codes such as the Spheres of Archimedes, it was able to become a Noble Phantasm. These Mystic Codes are all items Leo wielded or made during his life, such as Holographic Scrolls, Divine Hand Grenades, and Hephaestus' Netting, though it still has its original capabilities.
