"Mei is gonna be fine with her, don't worry!" Izuku said to Kyouka as they boarded a train. "But you still haven't told me where we're going."
"Yeah, and did you ever stop to think that was on purpose?" Kyouka replied quickly with a smile.
"Well, according to this train, we're headed towards Taito." Izuku said.
"Mhm, and you're not getting any more information than that." Kyouka kissed his cheek and smiled devilishly.
"You're something else, y'know." Izuku rolled his eyes with a smile.
"Yes, yes I am." Kyouka responded.
The train took off a few minutes later, and as it began to careen down the tracks, Kyouka laid her head down on Izuku's shoulder and closed her eyes. Izuku smiled and began to run his fingers through her hair. She sighed and nuzzled deeper into Izuku's shoulder.
About an hour later, the train that the two of them were on came to a stop, and they got out. The massive horde of other passengers pushed them away from the train terminal and out into the city. After a few minutes of walking, Kyouka had led Izuku to where she wanted.
"Alright, here we are!" Kyouka said.
Izuku really started taking in the scenery. He hadn't been paying too much attention to where he was because he wanted to truly be surprised by wherever it was that his girlfriend was taking him. And the scenery he found himself staring at was truly beautiful. The cherry trees were beginning to blossom, and the petals from those trees floated wistfully in the breeze above the small lake that sat directly in front of them.
"Kyouka…" Izuku breathed out before catching himself. "I mean… Seki…"
"No, it's okay… For today, for right now, I want to be your Kyouka. And I want you to be my Izuku…" Kyouka wrapped her arms around Izuku's arm and pulled herself tightly up against it.
"It's beautiful, y'know. The view." Izuku said.
Kyouka looked out to the lake and smiled. "Yeah, it is." She then looked at Izuku only to find his gaze looking not at the lake or the trees or even the flower petals, but at her. "I-Izuku…?"
"Like I said, I like the view a lot." He smiled at her and then looked out to the lake. "This one is nice too I guess."
Kyouka blushed a deep crimson. "You and your words… Come on, let's walk around." She said, trying to hide the blush on her face.
"Lead the way." Izuku smiled.
Kyouka did, in fact, lead the way to a bench alongside the lake and sat the two of them down on it, still gripping his arm. "The last few dates we've had have been at that old coffee shop with that very nice man, but I figured that we could do something like this for our next date. It's different, and different can be nice sometimes."
"I was thinking something like that too." Izuku said. "I feel bad for always getting drinks on the house or at a massive discount from that guy. Speaking of which, have we ever learned his name?"
"Something Sakura. A nice guy." Kyouka answered.
"Yeah, he is pretty nice. I don't know how that shop of his stays open when he gives us handouts like that. Oh well." Izuku shrugged his shoulders.
"We should do something nice for him sometime." Kyouka suggested.
"You know what? Yeah, I agree." Izuku smiled. Even if they weren't legally heroes, they could – and would – still help people when they could.
"We'll offer good protection for his shop. And we can make him a gift or something." Kyouka said. "I'm sure Mei will help us with that. She's good at crafts and stuff. And I'm sure she can get Hitoshi to help with it too."
"Speaking of them, have you noticed anything with them?" Izuku asked.
"Like the fact that they're totally into each other?" Kyouka said.
"Oh yeah! They both are. If they don't get together soon, I'm going to make it so that Mei talks to him about it like I could have when I first used my quirk on her." Izuku said, the exasperation apparent in his voice.
"So that's what it was. Y'know, I've thought about that a few times, but I never wanted to ask. Didn't seem important enough." Kyouka admitted.
"Yeah, it was. I was tempted to do it back then, but I wanted it to be on their time that they decide that." Izuku explained. "But it better be quick! Everyone can see it."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. We can leave them to it. For now, though, let's enjoy this date. It's a beautiful day after all." Kyouka said.
"And so are you." Izuku responded with a smile. He felt Kyouka's jack stab his neck. "Ow! What was that for!"
"No need to be cheesy, dumbass. Just enjoy my company."
"Fine, fine." Izuku smiled. "I'll do just that."
It had been about half an hour since Himiko fell asleep, and Mei had been working steadily since then.
"How's it going, Mei?" Hitoshi asked as he approached from behind.
"It's going pretty well, Toshi. It's a bit easier to work with those two lovebirds out on a date." Mei said.
"Speaking of, should we tell them that we're together?" Hitoshi asked. "It's been a few weeks."
"If they can't see it yet, that's on them." Mei said. "We're not over the top like they are, but it's not like we're hiding it."
"Yeah, that's fair." Hitoshi said. He stood there somewhat awkwardly for a few seconds.
"Toshi, if you wanna put your head on my lap while I work, just ask." Mei said while still staring at her computer screen.
"Can I-" Hitoshi started.
"Yes, go ahead and pull up a chair." Mei smiled.
Hitoshi did as he was told, pulling one of the chairs from the main table over to Mei's workstation. As he laid down, he sighed in contentment.
"Happy?"
"Yeah…"
"Good." Mei ruffled his hair and smiled as she continued on with her work.
