Kai was pissed, but he had a plan. So what if that snitch son of a bitch left town? That man was dead weight at this point. He knew this group, Societas Requiem, or whatever, knew where he was, and he knew that they were going to try to come for him.

That's why preparations were being made now.

"Overhaul, sir, it's three in the morning. Please go to bed. You can finish more tomorrow." A man in a white robe said.

"No, Chrono. I need this one now. Bring them to me. And you know we can't go to bed. We have the meeting with the League of Villains soon." Kai instructed.

Chrono nodded before pulling a few cages forward. "I don't understand why it has to be this early, though…" Snarling and scratching could be heard from the cages as they were moved forward. The shrill screech of a hawk and the roar of a tiger didn't intimidate Kai. He simply placed his hand on them and activated Overhaul. The noises of the two animals stopped before a new monstrosity was born before him, created by his quirk. A new massive cat roared and unfurled its wings. A shrill overtone pierced through the deep roar. Several other animals in the room cowered in fear at the power of the vocalization. But not all of them.

"Another incredible addition to your menagerie, Overhaul." Chrono complimented.

"Of course." Kai agreed. "When is the next shipment of animals? The ones I have are only part of the next batch of chimeras. I need more to finish them." He turned towards more cages filled with animals.

"Ordering so many illegal animals on short notice was difficult, but we should get our last shipment tomorrow night." Chrono responded.

"And you're certain that Oumo can control the chimeras?" Kai asked.

"He tested his quirk with your first creation, and it worked perfectly fine." Chrono stated.

"Good." Kai turned around to look at his lieutenant. "Has Compress made any leeway in locating their base?"

"Not yet, sir; although, he has narrowed it down to somewhere in Tokyo." Chrono said. Kai said nothing, but began to walk out of the room. Chrono followed him. "The League is still small, sir. They can't be expected to find them immediately."

"If they want any place in my ranks, they should hurry." Kai said. "The only thing in the way of my utopia is that filthy group of hero wannabes. They need to be eradicated. And then, once Eri has been returned, she's never getting out again." He growled.

"Of course, sir." Chrono said.

One man approached the two of them, clearly stressed about something. Unfortunately, he picked the wrong day to talk to Overhaul, as he was barely two seconds into what he was saying before his blood was sprayed across the wall. "Get someone to clean that up." Kai said. He took a deep breath and exhaled. "That rescued my stress levels quite a bit. Filth." He said before walking past the blood spatter and moved into the next room.

The room was mostly empty aside from two things: the newest member of his Eight Bullets, Oumo Doubutsu, and his prized creation, his ultimate chimera: his dragon.

"A wonderful combination, sir Overhaul." Oumo said as Kai entered the room. He wasn't looking at Kai, but at the winged behemoth at the far end of the room. "Crocodile, fox bat, scorpion, spitting cobra, and bombardier beetle. A tough creature with powerful wings, a nasty tail attack, and that time honored classic dragon trope of breathing fire. You've outdone yourself with this one."

"Enough with the compliments. Chrono said that you can control my chimeras?" Kai asked.

Oumo turned around. "Oh, with ease. They are just like any other animal. Helpless under my gaze." Oumo said. "You'll find that I can be quite… persuasive, even with the most stubborn of animals, which this one was at first." He gestured to the dragon that was behaving incredibly well, given its nature as a wild animal. It made no moves towards anyone.

"Good. Once you're done here, the Eight Bullets need to gather. We're having a meeting with the League of Villains in an hour. You might be new, but you still have to participate." Kai ordered as he turned around.

"Them again? Alright." Oumo sighed. "We'll see what the little nobodies think needs to be done." He turned back to the chimera as Overhaul and Chrono left, and the chimera began to walk towards its cage. He closed the cage and sighed. "I know they just see you as a tool, but you are a truly wonderful creation. I hope you have your chance to truly shine."

It simply growled and swung its barbed tail around in its cage. It laid down shortly after and fell asleep.

"You beautiful creature. I'll keep you safe." Oumo whispered as he left the room and turned the light off. "I'm sorry I have to keep up appearances that I don't care."

Everyone was nervous that day. Why? This was the first meeting with the Nighteye agency. None of them were going in person, of course, but they still had a meeting to attend.

"Who would have guessed that after all these years and different iterations of video calling programs, we'd somehow end up using Skype again?" Mei mused as she pulled up the program.

"News to me." Kyouka shrugged. "Masks on, yeah?" She asked.

"Yes, masks on." Izuku instructed. "Mei, are we doing all of us in one shot, or are we each getting a separate call?"

"All in one. The feedback if we were all in separate calls would be intense." Mei said.

"Alright. Everyone make sure your masks are on." Izuku reminded. "We're getting called soon."

Everyone did as instructed. As soon as they had put their masks on, Mei's screen, which she had used one of her rather large-sized monitors, lit up with the call from Nighteye. Mei quickly accepted, and the screen then showed a conference room filled to the brim with people. Izuku scanned the room, seeing a few familiar faces and a lot of people that he thought might look vaguely familiar. Among the people he recognized, he was a bit surprised. Obviously Nighteye and the blonde Lemillion were there. But so were Eraserhead, Midnight, and the Eijirou Kirishima student from UA that he had kept an eye on. There were a few other students from his class there too, but Izuku didn't pay them much mind.

"Hello?" Mei asked.

"Hello? Did you say something?" Nighteye asked. "We cannot hear you. Can you hear us?"

"Yes, we can hear you. Is your system muted?" Mei asked. She immediately face palmed. "They couldn't answer that if they couldn't hear me."

"Oh, my apologies. My system was muted." Nighteye said. "Can you hear us?"

"Yes, we can hear you." Izuku said.

"Great." Nighteye said. "Now, once you introduce yourselves, we can get down to business."

"We are Societas Requiem." Izuku said. A good number of the heroes in the conference room all began to talk at once. Izuku could see Kirishima gulp.

"Calm down, all of you." Nighteye said sternly.

"Why the hell is there a group of vigilantes helping us?" One hero asked, standing up in outrage.

"They have information, Rock Lock. Information that we sorely lack." Nighteye said. "I'm not too happy with this, either. But the situation calls for collaboration."

"What information could they possibly have that's that important to what we're doing?" Rock Lock asked.

"Explain what information everyone in that room has, and then we'll show you." Izuku offered.

"And how do we know we won't be just giving them information that they don't know?" Rock Lock accused.

"Because I guarantee that we know more than any of you individually." Izuku countered.

"That is quite enough." Nighteye said. Rock Lock sat down with a 'tsk'. "Bubble Girl?" He stepped away for a girl with light blue skin to step forward

"We at the Nighteye Agency have been conducting an independent investigation into the designated villain group known as the Shie Hassaikai for the past few weeks. This was prompted by an accident regarding a gang of thieves known as the Reservoir Dogs. Police said it was an accident, but numerous things didn't add up."

Another person stepped up, a man with the head of a centipede. "I, Centipeder, then conducted my own follow up investigation into the Shie Hassaikai. It turns out the members of the group have contacted many people outside of it in a greater capacity this last year than in years prior. We believe they are moving to increase the size of their organization and funds. We've also seen that the Shie Hassaikai has been in contact with the League of Villains." Centipeder explained.

"Because the League was involved, I was brought in." A small old man in a yellow and white suit said. Izuku noted the fact that Gran Torino was there to himself.

"Now, Fatgum, you have some information for us?" Centipeder asked.

A very rotund man stood up and cleared his throat. "Yes, thank you Centipeder. First of all, this is the first time I'm meetin' most of you, so hi! I'm Fatgum!" He said with a smile. He threw a few suckers to other people in the room before he continued. "A few nights ago, at Red Riot's debut, Suneater, Red Riot, and I were stoppin' an armed assault. Suneater and Red Riot were shot. Thanks to his quirk, Red Riot wasn't affected, but Suneater was." Fatgum clenched his fist tightly. "I've crushed lots of guys like that in my time, but those bullets were different. These bullets destroy quirks."

Everyone in the room, save a select few, stood up in shock.

"Destroys quirks? Tamaki, are you okay?" Mirio asked.

"Yes, I recovered after I slept. Look at this cow hoof." The blue haired student said, raising his arm which was, in fact, a cow hoof. Izuku decided he needed to look into his quirk later.

"I feel better knowing that you can recover from it…" Rock Lock said. "It's not gone for good."

"We will hear from Eraserhead for more on the subject." Nighteye said, turning towards the man.

"It seems to be different from how Erasure affects the body. I can suppress quirk genes temporarily, but I can't damage them." Aizawa explained.

"After Tamaki was shot, we took him to the hospital. They did some testin', and his quirk genes were damaged. Thankfully, after some rest, they were all better." Fatgum said.

"Any analysis on what was shot into him?" Nighteye asked.

"There was nothin' wrong with the rest of his body. It was only his quirk that got damaged. The guy who shot him isn't sayin' anythin' either!" Fatgum became angrier as he spoke. "The gun's in pieces, and that one bullet was all we had." Then he smiled. "But thankfully the other bullet that shot Red Riot bounced off of him due to his quirk, so we have another one with the drug!"

"Was analysis able to be done?" Nighteye asked.

"Yeah, we had some people lookin' into it, and what was inside disgusts me." Fatgum said.

"It's human blood and cells, right?" Izuku asked.

"How did you know?" Fatgum asked.

"Because we've had and seen these bullets for over a month now." Izuku said. The room went silent. "We've taken down a few of Eraserhead's targets a few times now, unintentionally, of course. We've stopped a number of weapons deals that have dealt with these bullets. We've analyzed the bullets and found cells and blood of a young girl, around age six or seven."

"And you said nothing?" Rock Lock asked, accusingly as he stood up.

The room went quiet. Everyone in the room looked between Rock Lock and the screen.

"Do forgive the vigilantes for not submitting evidence to powers that would have us arrested." Izuku countered, crossing his arms.

"Why be vigilantes in the first place? Be heroes!" Rock Lock urged, pointing at the screen.

"That's besides the point." Izuku said defensively. "The point being that we have saved this girl and have taken her to a safe place. Saved her from Overhaul and his plans. He's not able to make more of these bullets."

"This is good news." Nighteye said. "The fact that the girl is safe, first of all, is paramount. The fact that Overhaul can no longer make the bullets is an added benefit."

"But Rock Lock brings up a good point." Fatgum said. "Why are y'all vigilantes when y'all have made a good name for yourselves so far? You could be heroes."

"We're not talking about us right now!" Izuku exclaimed. "We're getting more and more off topic. Our information is about Overhaul, Eri, and the Shie Hassaikai. Keep asking about other things, and we're done with this call." Izuku threatened.

"You've made your point." Nighteye said sternly. "Moving on, seeing you have rescued this girl, Eri you said her name was, you must have come close to their main location. We've narrowed down the location to a few different possibilities. This was where Lemillion found you, yes?"

"Osaka, yes." Izuku said. "We were able to find out this location from one of the members of the Shie Hassaikai. It was originally just a scouting mission, but once we saw Overhaul and Eri, it turned into a rescue mission. We managed to escape him, and now she's safe."

"You managed to escape Overhaul? That's impressive." One of the random heroes in the room said.

"People do say I'm quite lucky." Izuku said.

Mei immediately muted their side and began to laugh. "You think you're so funny, don't you?"

"Maybe a little bit." Izuku said. "It was a tense situation. A joke to break the tension."

"Fair enough." Mei said, unmuting.

The others on the call were talking among themselves about the information that Izuku had just given them until they unmuted.

Nighteye looked at the camera and asked a single question. "How do we know that the girl is safe as you say?"

"Eri, come on out. Some of these nice people want to see you." Izuku said. Eri could be seen slowly peeking her head out of one of the rooms further in the warehouse. She tentatively approached the group. "Here she is. Alive and doing much better now that she's out of Overhaul's hands. Any other questions?"

"No. That will be all. I believe that adjourns our meeting today. We will be in contact with all of you regarding our agency's investigation and subsequent raid of their compound." Nighteye said. "This meeting was… enlightening. You are all dismissed." Nighteye turned to the camera and nodded.

Mei closed the call. "That was something." She said, chuckling. She spun around in her chair and took her mask off. "What do you think of everything?"

"Rock Lock is going to need to be kept at arms length during this raid." Izuku said.

"If he tries anything, we'll be ready." Hitoshi said.

"He does pose a question, though." Shouto said. "Why not be heroes at this point? You have more experience than most of the hero course at UA now, and you clearly have connections with Nezu. I'm sure he could pull some strings and get you all in, at least next year."

"He needs us for something." Izuku said. "And we're able to do things heroes can't. The HPSC has control over a lot. We can't afford to do that anymore. Time is of the essence for this." He explained.

"At least think about it." Shouto said. He got up and went to the kitchen, opening the fridge.

"Yeah…" Izuku said to himself. He looked at Kyouka to see her with a concerned expression on her face. He smiled at her, and she returned the smile. Suddenly, Inko moved from the room that she was sitting in with Eri and began to leave. "Where are you going, mom?" Izuku asked.

"Just have a little personal business to take care of." She said with a soft smile. "I'll see you all later this week." She turned to Eri. "Have fun with Izuku and Kyouka, Eri!"

"Thank you…" Eri said quietly.

"Be safe, mom." Izuku said as she opened the door.

"Thank you. I'll see you in a few days." Inko said, smiling as she closed the door behind her; however, her smile fell off of her face as soon as the door was closed, replaced by sheer determination.

The walk wasn't long. Neither was the train ride. The longest part was waiting at the air docks for her shuttle to arrive. That's when she got bombarded with paperwork and NDA agreements. Inko sighed as she finished signing the last document. Soon enough, she was led onto an air shuttle as the sole passenger, but it made enough sense. Not everyone had connections to get them access to Tartarus.

The flight wasn't too bad. She wasn't afraid of heights by any means. But the growing sense of dread in the pit of her stomach wouldn't go away or calm down. The authoritarian look of the barren metal hallways in the facility didn't help either.

"You'll have a limited amount of time with him, Miss Midoriya." The guard said as they got closer to the room.

"Of course." Inko nodded politely.

"And no funny business. We can't allow this one to escape."

"I wouldn't dream of that. I'm just here to have some choice words with the man. There's a lot to talk about." She said. While her voice radiated calm, she was doing her best to keep the anger at what this man had done at bay.

The door opened, and she saw the now husk of the man that she was loath to admit that she had been in love with, strapped down to a chair on the other side of a very thick glass pane.

"You have a visitor." One guard said over the intercom.

All For One raised his head. "Ah. It seems I do." He smiled briefly. "Inko. It's good to see you again."

"Cut the shit Hisashi." Inko spat. "That act won't work anymore. I'm here to talk about my son."

"Ah, our son." Hisashi started.

"No." Inko interrupted. "My son. You lost that claim when you left."

"My my, this isn't like you, Inko." Hisashi said. "You were always much more tame. It's unbecoming of a lady like you to swear."

"I'm not here to talk about me. I'm here to talk about my son. What did you do to him?" Inko asked.

"I made him better." Hisashi said.

"What do you mean by that?" Inko asked.

"Our son was quirkless." Hisashi said.

"What? No, that can't be the case! The doctor said that his pinky toe showed that he wasn't quirkless." She recounted.

"Those tests aren't always correct. I have the joint. It's entirely possible for a quirkless individual to not have the joint." Hisashi said indifferently. "What isn't possible is that a child of mine could be quirkless. Weak." He sneered. "So I gave him something to help him out. Something that seemed rather insignificant, but could become a huge asset to him. And it's gotten him even further than even I imagined."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Inko shifted in her seat.

"When I gave him Luck, it was simple. He would be lucky. Quirks cannot undergo awakenings when in my possession. Who knew he would be able to manipulate reality itself?" He laughed. "And so he has become powerful. I am proud of my son. He will join my cause soon enough. All of my progeny will."

"All of… How many others have you…?" Inko asked.

"Enough." Hisashi said. "They're out there. They haven't realized it, though. When I die, they will all know. But I have to die first. And I don't plan on dying any time soon." Hisashi smiled.

"Why are you telling me all this?" Inko asked.

"So you can know. See, in the time that I have been here, I've done a bit of thinking about our son. He's the only one I've interacted with after I leave them. There's something special about him. A strong personal sense of duty. Easy to push down a number of paths. My absence seems to have pushed him down the one he is on now."

"Don't act so high and mighty. The only thing your absence did was make life harder for us." Inko said. "And it looks like you did the same for many many other families."

"Adversity breeds strength, Inko. Have the two of you not grown stronger?" He smiled.

"That's besides the point, Hisashi…" Inko trailed off. After a few seconds of silence, she spoke again, this time much softer. "The worst part is that you managed to convince us that you loved and cared about us. You got me to love you." Hisashi's smile faltered slightly. "I was originally going to ask why you didn't say anything. I would have understood. Who knows, I might have even helped…" That caught Hisashi's attention. "But it's clear now that we were never a permanent thing. Never the family to tell things to. Temporary. I'll make sure my son never helps your legacy. Goodbye, Hisashi." Inko stood up afterwards. Hisashi's smile was completely gone.

Inko fought back the tears in her eyes. And she succeeded until she left the room, and then the dam broke. There was truth in her words. She had been in love with the man, so of course she would have helped him had he only asked. But he didn't. He made his mistakes. And now he had to face the consequences of them.

She had dreamed many times of being able to run back into his arms. Into the arms that held her for seven years. But not anymore. Never again. She never wanted to see him again. And she never would.
