Chapter 4 – A whole new world

The sun rises above the shores of Heart. As the sun shines, an out cold dragon is seeing lying like a corpse with his tongue out. Yet he slowly breathes while a growling sound is heard from his belly. Indicating that he is very hungry.

From a nearby Rainforest entrance, four curious looking sheep emerge. They must have wandered off from a nearby farm and picked up a scent. The sheep trots up to the lying Ignus, inspecting his form. Never have they seen a leather winged creature like him. When a moan escapes Ignus's mouth like he is in pain, the sheep huddle in fear right in front of his lying head.

The ram only frowns and begins to use his horns to foolishly bash Ignus's nose while the others, the girls only stare. The ram keeps bashing without know the alien dragon is slowly waking up. The ram stops bashing and back peddles. All four sheep has their jaws dropped watching Ignus move his head up and yawns revealing his sharp teeth. Yellow eyes open he spots the cowering sheep in front.

At first glance, Ignus's widens his pupil best describes as soul staring. He leans his neck to allow a closer look at the tasty looking sheep in front. He slurps his tongue slowly and his mouth waters. The sheep are freaked out. They finally realize that the dragon in front is about to eat them.

Ignus quickly opens his maw and gobbles up the ram making the three sheep baaah in horror and make a run for it into the jungle. Not satisfied yet, Ignus chases the remaining three sheep.

(Ignus POV)

Ignus continues his chase like a dog chasing a cat in the unknown jungle. His mouth is still watering and his eyes are still focused on the tasty sheep trying to run away from him. One of them trips over a twig allowing Ignus to catch it into his maw in midair and eats it. Two more sheep remain. As he chases on, they come across a river. One sheep manages to jump over. The other tries only to be caught by Ignus's jaw in the air making the remaining sheep sprint for its dear life from the crazy monster who just ate its friends. Eventually the sheep hits a dead end, blocked by a rocky wall. The sheep turns around to see Ignus running towards it with his hungry eyes and wet maw still opened. The sheep braces itself before the human turned dragon scoops it up with his maw and eats it.

Eating four sheep, Ingus sits on his rump satisfied. Then he clutches his fill stomach and belches four piles of bones from the sheep he ate. "Now that was a good breakfeast", he declares.

Ignus gets back on his four to observe his surrounds. Where is he? The forest did not look normal. The trees surrounding him are very tropical and wet if anything. For sure he is not in Europania anymore.

Speaking of, he remembers that he was flying away from a group of dragons that wanted to take him to this place called Camalar. He assumed that their intentions for him is less than good. Either way, they can't find him now. With a sigh in relief, he takes his chance to explore the jungle around him.

It is strange to him. The trees have wide ferns, the ground and leaves is mostly wet, and mist filling the air. It is a rainforest all right. There are even colorful pink flowers to which he finds soothing and unique. The strange exotic animals that spots Ignus keep away from him in fear not knowing who or what he is. Even tigers kept their distance.

Ignus continues to search around the rainforest until he spots what looks like a river. If there is a river, it means there is a town nearby. Or maybe not since he has not seen human yet. Rather then find any trace of society, he looks around hoping to find an empty cave of sorts where he could establish a hideout. With a face of determinate, He uses his wings to leap over the river and continue on his journey of lair searching. What he did not know is a group of three Kumandran humans dressed in teal clothing were watching him.

(Three Kumandra men POV)

Unlike Eurobanian humans, they were mostly tannish skin with black hair as a common color. The three where scouting the forest to pick out any fruit they could find until they come across a large scaley creature with wings they have not seen before. Not to mention they were horrified by the sight of him eating the poor sheep who could have been owned by one of the farmers.

"You guys see that!?" One scout asks in awe in a hushed tone.

"I did!" the other answers, "You think it is some kind of hybrid monster?"

"I don't know but we do know that we have to tell the chief about this!"

(Raya POV)

In the peacefull capital city of Heart, Raya is seen in her princess teal dress meditating with her father Benja in the great jade palace. It is like old times before that unification feast her father tried to do in order to unify the tribes. It would have worked if not for Namaari tricking her to the gem since they were children. But now that is in the past. Restoration of Kumandra is done. However her real duties as a princess of Heart is just starting.

"This like old times," her father speaks.

"Yeah," Raya responds calmly with a smile

"I will admit, it has been very busy rebuilding our lives. But now we finally have time for ourselves now that the kingdoms are at peace."

"You make being leader of a kingdom sound very easy Ba," Raya jokes at her father's statement.

In response, her father gives her a warm smile and strokes her head.

"Don't get too comfortable yet. We might be at peace, but there will always be those who will try to destroy it." Warms Benja.

He is right about that. A leader of a tribe must always be aware of constants threats that could be hidden. Perhaps maybe worse than Druun.

"Are you saying that you are going to teach how to be the next chief of Heart?" Raya asks with a raised brow. She did expect to one day inherit her father's leadership since she is the princess.

"I almost thought you want to talk to me about betrothing me to a prince," She adds with a joke.

"Oh? You think you are ready for that step?" her father teases with a smirk.

"WHAT!? Oh no I don't think so. I am?" Raya looks at her father flustered only to get a small laugh in response.

"Don't worry, I am just teasing. I'm not going to make you do such if you are not comfortable." Benja begins to stand up and helps Raya up. "However, I do believe it is time you start learning to take my place as the next the chief of Heart. Who else is going to keep the peace when I finally join you mother."

Raya saddens her expression at the mention of 'joining her mother'. Exciting as being the next chief sounds, a part of her fears she wont be able to fill her father's footstep. Not to mention even though she is reuinited with her father, he is going to grow old in age and join her mother in the afterlife and take his mantle. If its even that easy. She is going to say something until a guard barges in.

"MY CHIEF! I have an urgent news!"

"What is it?" Benja demands.

(Ignus POV)

Ignus continues to venture deeper into the Jungle. He finally spots what he is looking for. A big cave. With a grin he slowly trots inside it. Unlike the cave he came from, it is a big dome with small holes on the walls giving light. Even though there are no tunnels, it is still a perfect place to set up a hideout for now. His stomach grumbles, telling him that it is lunch time. With a snort he decides to leave the cave in the search of exotic food.

With his nose, Ignus searches around the jungle like a leopard stalking his prey. He hides behind a fern bush to see lots of strange looking pig like creatures (Tapirs) with black/white fur. They are hanging around the river where he came from. With a slurp of his tongue he begins to prounce his prey until he hears ruffling sounds from a bush breaking his attention.

Ignus turns his head around where the noise came from until a spear flies out towards.

"OH CRUD!" he shrieks and ducks down out of the spear's way hitting a nearby tree. From the bush, a squad of four warriors from Heart jump out of hiding with masks on their faces. They all weild a mix of sword and more spears.

Oh great there are humans here! Ignus declares in his mind as he growls at his attackers. They probably think he is some kind of monster that needs to be slaying. One of them twirls his spear and makes a jump attack only to be swatted by Ignus's tail. Another tries to attack but Ignus grabs him with his maw and tosses him away into the river. The animals scatter in fear at impact. A third warrior tries his attack but Ignus decides to use his fire breath to ignite the warrior on fire making him scream and run to the river before he gets severely burned.

Ignus looks to the reaming warrior, a female looking at him with a scared look. She is shivering in fear after witnessing the creature easily taking out her comrads. Instead of fighting she drops her spear and screams to make a run for it. Knowing she is running to a village, Ignus spreads his wings and flies into the sky. In the sky he gets a little distract at the beauty of the new world coverd mostly by rainforest. He looks around and sees a nearby village where the warrior probably came from.

With an angry look, he procedes to sent a message to any human, regardless who they are not to mess with him.

The People in the heart village filled with nice gardens were having a nice day until a fireball comes out of nowhere and shatters a nearby building. The villagers gasp in panic and whips their heads to see a scaley winged creature heading towards them in rage. The first building he demolished makes the villager panic in fear. The warriors tries to fight off Ignus but they only gusted or swiped away. He grabs one warrior by his claws and throws him or her to a nearby building.

"Mommy what is that!" a child, a girl calls out.

"I don't know sweetie but I do know that it is some kind of hate filled monster!" her mother shrieks as she takes her daughter away from the now burning village thanks to Ignus's fire breathing and fire ball.

"LET THIS BE A MESSAGE TO YOU ALL TO NOT MESS WITH ME!" Ignus warns before he uses his tail blade to puncture a nearby cattle so he could take it with him to eat. The village is devastated. The people who escaped mourn their now destroyed home. A child or two cries hugged by their parents.

(? POV)

As Ignus flies away, a purple Kumandrian dragon saw the whole thing. His face is best described as pure horror. Even though no human is badly hurt, he could not comprehend the sight of a monster who just vandalized an entire village.

"I gotta tell Pengu about this!" the dragon declares as he starts to hop around the sky.

Not a good introduction the Kumandrian people gave to Ignus. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Stay tuned.
