Chapter 8 – Chased by iguanas, captured by noodles
UPdate Dragonrand100 'I guess Pranee (his name is spelled with a double e)' Dont you mean 'her' name? Pranee is a girl last time i checked.
"Pengu I could explain!" Sisu buts in, hoping in between Ignus and the Kumandrian dragons to plea. "Ignus is not a monster! I see it in his eyes."
"Ignus?" Pengu gives Sisu a raised brow. "Is that his name?"
Sisu nods yes and explains, "He comes from another world where something bad must have happened to him turning him into a…"
Sisu turns her head to Ignus who is looking at her a little surprised that someone is standing up to him. "Heartbroken dragon who really needs a true friend to help him."
"He attacked a village!" Jagan steps up earning a small glare from Sisu.
Ignus jumps in and adds sounding a bit cocky, "In my defense purple noodle fluff, a group of hunters attacked me."
"And you did not have to go as far as destroy an entire village where innocent lives would be at risk!" Jagan counters and hops past Sisu and gives Ignus a glare down. The two male dragons softly give each other growling faces, showing off their sharp teeth until Pengu needs to step in.
"Enough!"
All eyes turn to the green one Pengu. "Jagan. Get back here and re control yourself."
"Sorry brother. I should not have let my emotions get the better of me."
Jagan trots backs to Pengu's side. Pengu turns his attention to Ignus.
"He is right though, you should not have caused such a travesty regardless of who is the first aggressor."
"They attacked me!"
"Have you ever consider thinking why they attack you? Have you ever thought about simply speaking with them?"
Pengu explains without raising his voice. Ignus only snorts with his fore arms crossed and replies, "Why bother? People are just a bunch of self-entitled pansies only caring for themselves. They just pretend to be nice to get something in return nothing more. They dissevered what they got!"
The way Ignus answered sounded very emotional and heart arching. Pengu gives Ignus an inquisitive brow and asks, "Do you truly believe that? The fact that you did not seriously harm no human shows otherwise."
Ignus puffs through his nostrils and replies, "sometimes I go around to give people a wake-up call. Break those fake smiles. Show them that people are just OUT FOR THEMSELVES!"
A tear leaks out of his eye. Pengu could sense how heart felt he was. Yet his action is not appropriate.
"I do apologize you feel that way. However, that is still not a good reason to tear down homes of the innocent. Especially those who are just trying to live peacefully."
"And what you going to do about it?" Ignus dares crossing his arms.
(Sisu POV)
Sisu could sense tension between Ignus and Pengu. Ignus is getting defensive in her eyes. Pengu however stood his ground without shouting. Same cannot be said for the guards and her brother. The guards prepare to draw their spears. Jagan prepares to prounce. Water spirits of her ancestors, Sisu hopes Pengu thinks of something.
She sees Pengu take a quick look at her before turning back to Ignus before saying, "My sister mentions you are a dragon?"
"Naaaaw, I am just some oversized fire spiting iguana surrounded by furry oversized snakes." Ignus sarcastically states.
Pengu gets into thought. Sisu hears him mutter something about seeing a creature like Ignus before. Makes her wonder if Pengu knows something more than she thinks.
"Mr. Ignus, for the sake of us all, It would be best if you come with us." Pengu says.
"Under what authority?" Ignus growls.
"By my authority as the leader of the dragons in Kumandra."
"So you are the king or something?" Ignus mocks Pengu. Yet Pengu only chuckles at the sarcasm.
"A King you say? Where have I heard that before?"
Both Sisu and the other Kumandran dragons look at Ignus confused while Pengu is in thought. Sisu remembers while Ignus told his story about this Eurobania, he mentioned a King. Is it their equivalent of a chief? Ruler?
"You guys seriously don't know what a king is?" Ignus speaks than laughs. All Kumandran dragons in the cave living room just look at him with awkward looks. When his laughter dies down he asks, "Ok what do the humans here call their rulers?"
"A ruler of one human nations of Kumandra is called a Chief," Pengu answers.
"Chief? You guys in the stone age or something?" Ignus mocks earning an annoyed yet soft growl from Jagan.
Pengu however says, "Looks like we have a lot that we could learn from each other. However, you still need to come with us. I promise you no harm will come to you."
"Over my dead hide!" Ingus gets defensive. He spread his wings and begins to breath out fire. The guards draw their spears. That is the moment to Sisu has to step in.
"IGNUS!" she calls out earning Ignus attention. "I beg of you, please put some faith for once. I promise you my brothers mean no harm."
(Ignus POV)
Ignus still debates whether or not to trust those snake like dragons. The reason he is in this alien world in the first place is to get away from a group of dragons who are trying to kidnap him. Why can't anyone just leave him alone. He looks to the five Kumandrian drakes then back at Sisu a few times. Then he sees a tear shed from one of Sisu's eyes. He did not know why but he is starting to feel guilty. Or is it some weakness he did not know about. Looking at Sisu in her state reminds him of the sad faces of young children in his home world.
He looks to Pengu and spouts, "Fine".
Ignus folds back his wings yet still did not smile. Sisu did however.
"You make the right choice. However we still need to restrain you due to what you did. Understand?" Pengu explains.
Instead of answering, Ignus lifts his forearms to allow two Kumandrian guards to tie him up.
(Sisu POV)
As the guards and Jagan escort Ignus out of the cave, Sisu walks up to Pengu and asks, "You're not going to hurt him are you?"
As much as she trusts her brother, a part of her is worried that Ignus might do something dumb due to his temper. Pengu puts a fore paw on Sisu's shoulder and replies, "No harm will come to him dear sister. That would depend on him."
Sisu takes one nervous glance at Ignus being dragged by the guards with Jagan watching. Pengu follows suit before Sisu takes a nervous gulp and follows along.
(Ignus POV)
What could be more humiliating than being taken by a group of furry/scaly noodles. The way the dragons of Kumandra fly is laughable in the middle of a rain storm. All they are doing is jumping around the drops due to the lack of wings.
Ignus begins to feel himself through up due to the shaking motion while being grabbed to where ever they live.
As they continue to fly hop their way, the city is in view despite the clouds. It is on a green mountain surrounded by water. Fitting for water dragons. Despite the bumpy motion, Ignus could not help by be in awe at the sight of the beautiful city filled with more noodle dragons. The trio of seven make their way to the center of town where nearby dragons halt their movements to see the commotion.
At the sight of Ignus, they all gasp in awe before rushing towards them. All curious eyes are on Ignus. One asks what kind of creature is he. Another questions why he has some resemblance to their kind. They question why Ignus is tied up. The staring and the questioning annoys Ignus by the way he growls. He looks like he is about to burst in anger at any moment. That is until nearby gaurds rush in to form a wall formation to keep the residents away for personal space. A tug is felt on his fore leg. The guards are signaling him to keep moving. Led by three of the datsu siblings, the guards drag Ignus to what looks like a large temple structure resembling a Chinese emperor's palace.
(Camalar)
"You lost him!?" King Arthur booms in the throne room.
"Please forgive us your majesty. The rogue dragon was un cooperative." One of the three dragon guards claim with a salute.
"We chased him all the way to the eastern coast of Eurobania yet…" the other guard pauses in nervousness. The king and the other knights of the round table await for the guard to finish his answer.
"He continues to fly off eastward across the ocean!"
Every fire dragon in the room gasp except for Arthur. Except his eyes widen before getting into thought. "Interesting" he mumbles.
The three guards give other a weird look. The only female walks up to the round table and continues sounding uneasy, "Yeaaah, at first we believed he might have perished by eventually falling into the ocean. However, while looking through his cave all his belongs just vanished!"
"What do you mean by vanished?" a bronze scaled middle aged dragon who was standing beside the king's throne speaks. He is wearing what looks like a black cloak and a ruby amulet. He is Chancellor Aldrich, the King's primary advisor and head of palace management.
"Well lord Chancellor. The furniture, books, and other things went poof like magic!" the female guard finishes.
The knights mutter to each other. Sir Galahand, the light blue one and the youngest speaks up with a voice a true young noble, "I believe the furniture were simply teleported which means the roque dragon is still alive."
"If that is true sir Galanhand, how exactly did he survive if there is no land across the ocean?" the green one Radagast questions.
Arthur however speaks up. "Because there is another world."
All eyes went to the golden dragon king. The younger knights look at him surprised. The older ones however are calm.
"Another world?" Galahand speaks.
"That is right sir Galahand. There is a part of our kinds history that many don't seem to remember."" The king explains. "When the maker created the world, dragons were molded into different forms. Us were formed from fire landed from the heavens. Some formed from the waters. While others have formed from the very earth. The world I speak of are those of the waters. Kumandra."
"What is this Kumandra? And forgive my ignorance but, why have you not speak of it?" Galahand demands.
"Kumandra is one of many worlds the Maker created with its own magical creatures and humans. As we are tasked with the safe guard of Eurobania, the water dragons were in charge of Kumandra." The King answers. His face saddnes and continues, "However, the reason we have not spoken about them is because they were fighting an evil entity called the Druun."
"Druun?" Galahand raises a brow to the king.
"Druun as the creatures of Kumandra called it was actually a result of an evil spell casted by the evil dragons of Draconicus in order to wipe us out called 'shadow smog'. The spell was so powerfull, it literally spread across the world. The only way to stop it is to use the power of light magic."
"How do you know a lot about Kumandra?" one of the other younger knights asks.
"Lets just say I actually visited there when I was young." The king answers making all the dragons in the room gasp. "As much as I would like to explain the rest of the story, time is at the essence. If the rogue dragon did find his way in Kumandra, I know someone dear to who can help us."
"Dear to you your majesty?" Radagast questions. The king only has the meeting dismissed. As soon all the dragons clear out, the king makes his way to his own private chambers without knowing the mysterious she dragon is spying on them the whole time.
In his private quarters, the King makes his way to his study to take out a parchement and a quill pen. As he begins to write, he gets painful flash backs about his younger self. He is the one who taught the Datsu siblings how to defeat this Durrn. But not a lot water dragons trusted him as he was a foreigner. It is why he was told to head back to Eurobania for his own safety not only from the Druun but the ignorant Water dragons who mistrust him to the point they would be angered if he interfered. It broke his heart leave his new friends especially this one dragoness he fell in love with. He writes the following,
To my dear Pranee,
I do not know if you either remember me or have dealt with this druun that you called it. I hope in all my heart that you are ok ever since you insisted I flee to my world even though I wanted to help. I do trust you and your siblings succeded on your quest of forging this stone that could ignite enough light magic. However, there is an urgent matter to discuss.
There is a roque dragon that came from my world and I believe he is in yours. If anything, I would like to request an audience as soon as possible. If you receive this letter, please write back so we could finally see each other once again and deal with the rogue dragon.
Love, Arthurous Pendar, King of the fire dragons of Eurobania.
