Chapter 10 – A trail of Fluffies
(Ignus POV)
"WAKE UP" a voice shouts making Ignus shoot up awake from his bed pile. He whips his head around to see the guards are by his cell. "The Datu clan will see you now."
Ignus tries to process what he meant. Then he remembers last night that Sisu told him that he is going to have a trial. With a groan he gets up and stomps towards the guards where they open the gate and chain him up to his displeasure.
"Now come quietly and no one has to get hurt understand?" one of the guards warn.
"It means no sudden tricks!" the other one adds.
"Yeah Yeah lets just get this over with" Ignus growls, showing he is not in a good mood. How can he? He is being taken as a willing prisoner by a group of…dragons they call themselves. The guards only exchange a stern look before tugging his chain to motion him to get moving.

Like a dog dragged on a leash. The guards escort Ignus through the halls of the Asian like temple that looks more like a palace. A servant or two they pass by who look at him with shock. As too the other guards patrolling the area. Admittingly, it did bother him a bit. Those creepy stares from their slanted big eyes. He is an alien to them as they are an alien to him.
He looks to the walls to see various paintings and wall carvings. They seem to tell a brief story about this world, Kumandra. Its story seem kind of similar to Eurobania. A magical land created for all to live in harmony with humans and dragon co existing. Except there is no mention of them giving magic to the primitive like people of Kumandra. No mention of those dragons turning evil at some point. The story wall then leads to the point of their history which is the shadowy clouds that almost consumed their land because the humans at some point fought for control.
The shadowy clouds on the pictures must be this Druun Sisu mentioned. Seems kind of familiar. Looks like some kind of spell. Something to appear out of nowhere did not make sense to him. By the maker, if they mention that the black clouds is made by bad emotion he is going to cringe.

Into a temple, a circular chamber he goes. The two guards drag him all the way to the center where he is greeted by five snake-like dragons with more of them, probably higher ups behind them in a circle. They all look at him with curious looks.
The five of them at the most center are probably the siblings of this Datu clan. Three of them he recognizes. Pengu the green one at the middle. Jagan the blue one beside him. And Sisu herself, like light blue one with shades of teal beside another older pinkish purple female beside her. The other two females are probably the other sisters.
Ignus continues to look around the chamber. He is starting to get disturbed by the constant stares. By the maker he just wants this to be over with. Yet here he is being charged for being a jerk. He re focuses on Pengu, seeing that he is the one stepping up. The crowd quite down.
"My fellow dragons of Amuedo. Today as you all could see, is a creature not known to us. According to Jagan, he has caused some trouble to a village of our human friends."
Ignus is about to counter but Pengu asks, "Humans did attack you right?"
Ignus huffs a growling 'yeah' as a response.
"Why do you not try to reason with the humans that attacked you?" Pengu adds
"Why should I? They will probably still attack me. Better yet, it is what humans are, a bunch of selfish snakes who will rob you blind when given the chance!" Ignus barks.
The Kumandrain dragons in the chamber mumble to each other. Some with voices of fear while others make comments on how rude the guest is. Ignus did not care. At the time questions why they care about humans at all. Is it the will of their maker like the ones in legends?
"And what do you think of us dragons?" Pengu asks making the crowd refocuse their gazes at the fire drake in the center chained up the guards.
Can the answer be any obvious? With his encounter with the Eurobanian dragons and the fur noodles. Might as well be the same as the humans themselves. Legendary creatures who believe in this obligation to make peace with other sentient beings are just naïve. Come to think of it, why would maker entrust dragonkind to safe guard humans if they are so selfish.
"Pfft, fist off fur ball, I still find it hard to believe that you guys are somehow dragons. Second of all, I bet you all are just the same as them!" Ignus accuses.
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" a female voice shouts. All eyes turn to an emotional Sisu. "We dragons have great history of being one of the most peaceful creatures of all Kumandra. In your case the world!"
"I find that hard to believe." Ignus counters with a snort.
"What do you mean?"
"I bet your ancestors did bad things that they did not want to talk about!"
"Even so, but we never really claim to be perfect!" Sisu counters back.
"Oh please Sisaw.
"SISU!" Sisu corrects him again with a face palm grunting in annoyance.
"SASA! SUSHU! SEESEE! WHATEVER!" Ignus shouts glares back to Pengu.
He rants, "I DON'T REALLY CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO ME ANYMORE! MIGHT AS WELL DO ME A FAVOR AND SENTENCE ME TO DEATH ALREADY!"
All the dragons, including Sisu gasp at what he just ranted. They are all shocked that such a creature rude creature would desire death. Sisu has a face mixed with fear and sympathy. She leans forward to the broken fire dragon and asks with sadness in her tonque, "What happened to you? You poor thing?"
Ignus begins to tear up without looking at the constant stares waiting for answer from him.
"I am just guy who had hopes and dreams. A guy who wanted to share my knowledge with those I cared about. (Sobs) but now my faith with almost everyone. Including all of you is all gone! All because the very friends I had and the people I cared about all showed their true faces!"
Every dragon in the room feel pity for him. Especially Sisu who seems to sense something deeper within Ignus's closed heart. The pinkish-purple female Pranee looks at him with pure curiosity. she is using her eyes to observe him as if she seen him before. she steps up and speaks with a calm voice.
"Where are you from young one?" she asks him. Her voice sounded very motherly. Makes Ignus look up. In a way her voice reminded him of his own mother who died of illness.
"I am from another world called Eurobania. Not that it really matters since I am probably going to be executed anyway and you won't be able to find it." He answers with a hint of skeptism.
"Eurobania?" Pranee questions to herself. She gets into thought with a fore palm to her chin. "Where have I heard of that before?"
The water dragons and Ignus all look at Pranee who seems to know something. She leans towards Pengu's ear area and whispers something. Whatever it is, Pengu perks up.
"Sir Ignus…our sister Sisu mentioned that you are a dragon right?"
Ignus nods with a 'yeeeaah' and raises his brow. He wonders where they are getting too. He hears mutters from the water dragons voicing their disbelief. One claims that he can't be a dragon due to having wings. Another comments that he is naked without his fur with only a mane. Than they go on with simular claims that Sisu said about him not being the dragon.
"lets say what you said is true. Are there others like you?" Pengu questions.
"There are but I am mostly a loner. The last time is other dragons like me are those that chased me out of my world to here. Where are you getting at?" Ignus demands
The room is silent. Pengu breaks it, "Young man, even though we still have a lot of questions but what is known is that you have a tendency of being very aggressive and shoving those who want to help you aside. To make something clear, no we have no intentions of ending your life. It is not really a way of us water dragons. We are a peaceful society mind you."
Are you kiddning Me? There actually pacifists! Ignus moans in mind.
"However, with lots of thinking. We believe there is something within you that yearns to be your true self again. Which is why I would have one of us to watch over you and try to teach you to be kind and also learn of our ways in the process." Pengu declares.
Ignus bursts out of laughing, "HAHAHAHAHA, Oh so you guys are going to give me a babysitter to educate me to death? Who in their right mind will actually do that? I do bite for your information sensi green fluff. GAH"
Ignus feels himself get whipped by a tail of one of the two guards.
"Show some respect outsider! You are speaking to the grand elder of AmuEdo!" the guard barks and is about to whip again only for Pengu to shout for him to halt.
"What our vulger guest said is true. Who among us wishes to volunteer?"
"OHOHOHOH! I DO!" a familiar bubbly voice calls out.
Ignus widens his eyes, gritting his teeth in a nervous manner. He slowly turns his eyes like the others towards the one she dragon he believes is the current bane to his existance. All eyes land on the arm waving, overly excited Sisu. Maker why her!?
Ignus paniclly looks around the room and tries to callout other of the snake-like dragons to step up. Any noodle but her. "Anyone else like to be my babysitter but her!? You there! Jagu right?"
Ignus points at Jagan who is looking at him with a smirk this time.
"Actually, I think Sisu is best for the job." He even grins making Ignus growl 'why you'.
"My mind is with Jagan. Besides, this could also be a fitting punishment for a certain dragon who disobeyed us." Pengu crosses his forearms. He and the other siblings turn their gazes at Sisu giving her a stink eye.
Sisu makes a nervous grin and says, "Hey hey I was just trying to find buddy girl Raya to tell her about him but looks he beat me to it."
Ignus face palms at that remark. Why do those so weird dragons have to be so peaceful. Is the maker trying to have fun with him.
"Then it is agreed. Sisu will be in charge with mentoring our guest to learn our ways and learn to have some faith in others again." Pengu decrees.
AND WHAT IF I REFUSE!? Ignus blurs out defensively.
"Then you well remain here living in the cells not allowed to leave for the rest of you days," Pengu warns looking at Ignus sternly.
Ignus tries to come up with an excuess. Eventually he gives in and spouts 'fiiiine'. That makes Sisu squeal and hops down from her spot to give Ignus and arm hug.
"We are so going to be great buddies in no time I know it!" Sisu spouts while Ignus struggles to breath. Than he hears a small laugh from Pengu.
"Well that's it then. You lessons will begin shortly tomarrow. For starters, I recommend going to that village you destroyed and help rebuild it. And bring a cow along with you to pay them for the one you took."
A path of redemtion? or a path of more silliness?
