Living in the Lower East Side of New York City, it was really just a given that things outside were never quiet.

You learned to fall asleep to horns honking, drunken antics, and police sirens.

Mark Cohen knew this. It was a far cry from his suburban childhood home in Scarsdale, where the loudest noise at night was the neighbor's dog barking. But now he wouldn't live his life any other way.

The noise outside was almost a comfort. It reassured the filmmaker that even if all his friends to eventually leave him, one way or another, that there was still life outside.

He'll never truly be alone.

A/N: Small drabble. I had intended for this to go in a completely different direction, but now I think I'm going to leave this as is and write a whole other story! So watch out for it!
