DISCLAIMER: Don't own or claim anything related to wither King Arthur or Alan Jackson.
A/N: I'm really sorry to all of you who have written or updated and I haven't gotten back to you nor have I reviewed. School and real life have gotten in the way of so many things right now that I'm having a hard time keeping things straight. I promise that I will get back to you ALL. You are the best.
Like red on a rose
When your lips first smiled at me
I was captured instantly
To each his own
It was like a wave of wind that hit me the first time that I saw you.
You were standing on the very top of the far north tower, the rain was falling so hard that it stung as it hit my skin, I could only imagine what it felt like as it landed on your upturned face.
But you were smiling, your arms spread out as if you wanted to fly. Your hair, made a darker auburn by the rain, was whipping and swirling around you like a liquid fire.
Like blue in the sky
The gaze of your willing eyes
Touched something deep inside
The truth be known
You do not know this, but I was watching you as you sat by my side for so long. I heard you talk in that soft voice of yours, like we were having an ordinary conversation.
You do no know this, but I was fully aware how careful and tender you were as you stitched up the wound in my side.
You do not know this, but I watched as you cried the night my fever finally broke.
That I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you 'cause I know that I can't do anything wrong
You're where I belong
Like red on a rose
So many nights I have come back from the endless missions and endless slaughter that Rome demands that I do. You never bar your door and allow me to slip in beside you.
Not one word is spoken as you turn over and slip your slender arms around me, your face buried in my chest.
And I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you like good times of which I've known many
And I love you 'cause I know you give me a heart of my own
Not once did I hear you comdemn me for what I've had to do.
Not many wanted to come close to me, but you were unafraid.
You make my blood flow
