All right everyone it is not Thursday yet but I did manage to get some of my ideas on paper. So just read.

Chapter 17: Memories and Confessions Make Dreams Come True.

The red rocky ground felt great under his feet. To him there was no other feeling better than being home. This is where he belonged. Anytime he was here, there was an inner peace that came with the terrain. The red mountains gave him a sense of pride. When he looked upon them he felt like he was on top of the world. And when he was on top of the mountains, he didn't want to come down. When he was young he used to look up at the mountains and dream that one day he would be the one to climb them. He would be the one to sit up and howl at the moon in a sign of honor and protection to his tribe.

Red always felt renewed and alive when he saw the mountains of his canyon. Cosmo Canyon was a place that he could go and let all his worries and troubles slip away. He could always go there and forget about any and everything. On some days he would run along the river that ran next to the city nipping and yapping at the friendly fish in the stream. Never hurting them or eating them unless necessary. Just giving them a little scare. On his lazy days he would find a nice bush to just lie under and take a nice nap. But on his lonely days, even though they were lonely he cherished them. On those days he would sit upon a rock and he would watch the sunset. He would watch the sky change from light blues, to fiery oranges, onto lush reds, hazy pinks, soft lavenders, then onto a midnight blue that was so serene he would lay his head down and sleep under the stars. But before he falls asleep he would think. Think about life, what his purpose was, about his responsibilities. But there were three things that dominated his mind. Three things that he always thought about. They were his mother Sadika, his father Seto, and if he would ever find another of his kind; a female preferably.

Growing up Red always had a deep admiration for Sadika. Red and his mother always had a strong bond. A bond that the clutches of time could never decay or cause to grow old. He shared most of the same traits with her, he had grown to be like her and her spirit lived within him. The night that she had died protecting the Canyon was the saddest day of his life, yet the proudest moment of his existence. He remembered seeing her on top the very rock that he watched the skies. He remembered seeing her surrounded by enemies from all angles. In his mind's eye he saw them jumping on top of her until she was out of sight only to be blasted away by her awesome strength. She did this over and over again until she was weary. When she was attacked again it was a while before she got free. She then looked around and caught his eye. She gave a small wink and lifted her head to the sky and gave a long wail to the moon. Her wail wasn't stopped until she was dead, for at that time 3 waves of enemies were upon her and it was impossible for her to fend off their attack and survive. But when she died she took all of her attackers with her. Leaving behind a death toll of some 300 enemies surrounding her place of death.

Seto was a different issue. Growing up Red thought that he was the biggest coward that ever disgraced the name of Cosmo Canyon. He thought that his father was a bastard. He thought of him as a person that deserved no honor or respect. That night when Sadika died he was nowhere to be found. Red thought that he had tried to run away but was caught by the enemies and devoured. To Red that was a suiting death for him. But he was wrong. On his past adventures he had learned the truth about that fateful night. He had learned that his father had made his stand in front of the Gi Cave. The most sacred place in the Canyon. He saw what remained of his father and what he saw shocked him. His father had been turned into stone from the multiple poisonous arrows that protruded from his body. To Red that was the most beautiful thing he ever saw. Seto was left there as a reminder to anyone who dared to intrude. On some nights when he sat with his father and talked to him he thought he heard his father talking back. And some people in the village say that when there is a full moon there can be heard three different howls rising up to the moon. They believe that it is the royal family communicating with each other.

But as of late what he has been thinking of more and more is the fact that he might not be able to leave a legacy behind. Meaning that he won't have any children to leave back. He is afraid that since he is the last of his kind, when he dies his race will be removed from the memories of the modern world. With him being around his group of AVALANCHE all the time, he never knows when he is going to die and when he dies what will happen. Right now he is searching for a mass murderer, that wont even bat an eye when it comes to his life. He needs to find out if there is anymore like him and fast. When his grandfather died he decided to take a walk through the Gi cave during the weeks that AVALANCHE was disbanded. While walking through the Cave at a certain point his heighten sense of smell was attacked with a barrage of different smells. All of them were scents that he knew such as, dirt, clay, rock and so on. But there was this faint smell that caught his attention. Any human would never be able to detect it. It baffled him and he would have continued to search if it weren't for one of the elders that came to get him carrying an urgent message from Vincent saying that there was a disturbance in the life stream.

He was pulled out of his thoughts of home and heart when he heard footsteps behind him. Red turned to see Yuffie approaching. She had a smile on her face and when she stopped next to him she scratched behind his ears. Red purred in pleasure and relaxed. He would always have time to think about his past but right now they had a mission to accomplish. He breathed in one last breath of fresh air and turned around to see the rest of his friends coming up the steps.

When the team was successfully gathered in front of the entrance to town. Cloud surveyed them. Vincent was carrying Mariah and Sephiroth was slung over Barret's back, much to the displeasure of Aeris.

He turned to Tifa; grasped her hand and spoke up.

"OK every one. This is the plan. Barret and Vincent will take Seph and Mariah to the clinic while the rest of us head up to the libraries. I don't want to spend more than three days here so I would really appreciate it if everyone gave a helping hand to the research that needs to be done in the library. So that means you have to help…Yuffie."

Yuffie stomped her foot on the ground, folded her arms, and pouted.

Tifa thought about the plan, but whispered into Cloud's ear. Cloud looked up into the sky and noticed that the sun was indeed setting and night would be upon them. He didn't realize that they had slept so long and he didn't expect the ride to Cosmo Canyon to take up most of their day. He sighed and decided to just let it go.

"Change in plans guys. As for the rest of the day you guys can do what you want. But first thing tomorrow morning, after breakfast head to the libraries."

The team gave a shout of joy and everybody went his or her separate ways. Red went to go talk to the elders, Barret and Cid went to the pub, and Cloud, Yuffie, Vincent, Aeris, and Tifa went to the clinic to drop off the unconscious members. Once inside the clinic they got Mariah and Sephiroth into the same room. Aeris volunteered to stay behind and look after the two, and to use some of her abilities to see if it would help.

When outside, Yuffie looked at whom she was left with, shook her head and walked away saying something about, not wanting to help with the wedding plans. Tifa and Cloud laughed with each other and proceeded to a spot in town where they could watch the sunset and look out onto the horizons. Once they found a suitable spot they sat down. It was a while before any of them said anything. They felt that if they were to say anything it would ruin the peaceful and serene moment that came with a view of the sunset. The skies were a splash of different colors reds, oranges, pinks and purples. It was one of the things that they loved about Cosmo Canyon. The sunset was always beautiful. Tifa was wrapped in Cloud's muscular arms and her head lay on his chest. Cloud was propped up on a tree and his chin rested neatly on her head. He breathed in some fresh air and the gentle fall and rise of his chest mixed with the cooling night air and the warm breezes that flew by was enough to put Tifa to sleep. She hadn't realized how tired she was and she just decided to let her dreams tae her. After all what could happen she was with her fiancé and even though they were currently in the middle of a crisis, the world seemed more peaceful than ever. Cloud unaware that Tifa was lost to the world, looked out onto the setting sun now half visible smiled to himself. He had remembered the time when it was just he and Tifa under the Highwind when he gave the team a couple of days to just relax.

"Hey Tiff, I was just remembering the time when it was just you and I sitting under the Highwind. In this same position. That day I wanted to tell you how much I loved you. I wanted to let you know that you meant everything to me. But I was a fool back then. I never once told you thank you. I never once said thanks for just being Tifa. When everybody else left me you were the one that stayed. And what I have heard from the rest of the gang, you jumped right into the Lifestream when you saw me fall.

My life would have probably been very different if I never met you. I probably would have never made it in SOILDER and died that night when Seph burned down Nibleheim. But because of you I made it, because of you I fought through the ridicule and pain that came with the training, because of you I became a SOILDER and a man. And now that I am your husband-to-be I want to tell you that you are going to be treated like the queen you are. I love you Tifa."

By that time the sun had set and the stars had come out. He realized that she was sleeping and stroked her delicate face. He looked up to the heavens and picked out a star.

"I will dedicate that one to you, Tiff. Just because you are my star." He whispered.

He looked down to the base of the tree that he was resting on and saw some white elipticas. He picked out the biggest one and placed it in her hair. After another moment of quiet bliss, he decided to bring her back to the hotel and turn in for the night. He swept her into his arms and she opened her eyes groggily. The first thing she saw was enough to make her dreams come true and send her back into the land where her dreams succumbed to her every will.

She had saw her knight in shining armor. He hadn't rescued her from danger, but he was there whenever she needed him, and he would always be there.

The night breeze was cool and calm. The stars were out and the frogs and crickets began their midnight harmony. She was in his embrace and he in hers. Together they dreamed. And with each, a dream from childhood became a reality.
