Chapter 21: Search for Answers: Last and final Day

It was the last and final day that AVALANCHE was planning on staying in Cosmo Canyon. Sephiroth hadn't woken up and the team had, had 2 unfruitful days of searching. Being as it was the last day, everybody was on edge. The room was quiet and the only sound that could be heard was the flipping of pages and the constant murmur of sighs and throats being cleared.

Cloud was the most anxious of all his teammates. He needed to find something on this Anjasukatei fighting technique that Sephiroth mentioned. When he thought about it he wondered if he was on a wild goose chase. Just because the word sounded like angel didn't mean that it had actually been an angel fighting style. Plus, when would Sephiroth have time to learn an ancient fighting stance with his current sanity issues. But then again Cloud did see a silhouette of two wings on his back. He was just going in circles here and wasn't getting anywhere. This just added onto Cloud's basket of troubles and the frown on his face only deepened.

Tifa looked up at her fiancé and almost burst out crying. She hadn't seen Cloud so upset before. He looked like he was about to pass out from exhaustion and she swore that his eyes were brimming with tears. They had been in the library's archives for 2 days now and they still hadn't found any useful information on these holy beings. The most that she gathered from her own studies was that they aided the humans in their wars against dragons and hellish creatures. Personally Tifa didn't believe in these stories and just smiled as she read them. She looked back over to Cloud who happened to be studying her. She gave him a soft smile and he winked his perfect ice blue eye at her. The same way he winked at her after they were finished with their lovemaking.

She had always thought that she would keep her tradition and have sex the night that she was married but when she was with Cloud there was no better way to show that she loved him but to give her self to him. She thought and thought but the only thing that came to her mind was the thought of him having piece of her. This way he would always be inside of her both mentally and physically. The way he talked to her soothed her soul so much that she could go to sleep just listening to him talk about the stars. She looked back to him and he was back in the book. She looked down to her own book and realized that she had finished it. She closed it and smoothed out her Moschino shirt and dusted a speck off her pleated Marc Carr skirt. She got up and proceeded to the shelf. She placed the first book where she had found it and looked over to the bottom shelf of the section that she was currently browsing. She was tired and wasn't looking for a big book to go back and read. She picked up a fairly small book and as she pulled it out an even smaller book fell out from behind it. Tifa weighed her options and restore the first book to its rightful place. When she bent down to pick up the second book she realized that it didn't have a name or an author. She picked it up and examined it. She saw that the pages were a deep yellow color streaked with brown, meaning that the book was old. She took notice of some scruff marks on the side, and the intricate markings on both sides of the book. Tifa's interest was peaking. She brought the book back to the table she was sitting at and sat down. When she opened the book she noticed that the first few pages were blank. She then turned a couple of more pages and saw handwriting. It was neatly written, small, and in a completely different language. Upon further inspection she noticed that there was indeed some English in the book but a lot of it was also in the "unknown" language.

Tifa hoped that this book would be of some use to their cause and decided to take this up with Cloud. As she went over to his table, he looked up at her. His frown was quickly replaced by a smile and as she sat down next to him their lips met. Cloud being the way he was decided to have a little fun and his hand snaked its way up her skirt and as it found what it was looking for. Tifa blushed because her once dry thong was now wet. Cloud removed his hand and looked at her innocently. After the color in her cheeks faded she turned to him.

"I think I found something, that may help us."

Cloud's eyebrows went up and he pulled her even closer.

"I was going to get another book, but this dropped out of one that I had picked up. When I opened it I tried to read but found that this is in a different language. It has a few English words in it but I don't think it's enough to be of any help."

Cloud looked down at the book and his brow furrowed into confusion.

"What the hell is this? I see the word it and is and I even see child. But I can't make this out".

They looked at each other and shared the same thought.

"Red! Come here please," they said together.

Red lifted his head from his current position and bounded over to the couple. It warmed his heart to see these two together. It was as if the were betrothed to each other from the day that they were born.

"What's up guys?" he asked

They both pointed to the book and Red leapt up on the table to get a better look. He was silent for some time and they both thought he fell asleep. Tifa was about to prod him but with lightning speed he leapt off the table and ran out of the library. Cloud looked at his wife to be and she looked at him.

"What the hell was that all about?" she asked.

"Dunno" Cloud said shrugging his shoulders and sitting back in the chair.

A Couple of minutes passed by and Red finally returned. He walked into the Library and an Elder from the tribe followed him. The elder looked flustered and was out of breath. He looked at Red and Red bowed apologetically. The elder just smiled and scratched behind Red's left ear. They walked over to the table where Cloud and Tifa was and looked at the book as if it were something holy.

The elder then picked it up and read through it a little bit. It was obvious that he understood this language for he had no problem reading. Not once did his face change and he looked like he was soaking up the information like a sponge. Red cleared his throat and caught the attention of the man.

"This is Elder Tamari, he was in league with grandfather and got the same training as he did. If it wasn't for me Elder Tamari would be leading this tribe." He said.

Tamari looked around at the now gathered crew and smiled.

"It is nice to meet all of you, and I hope you are enjoying your stay here. Nanaki has told me about what you seek in the archives and you have stumbled upon something extraordinary. This little book will help you greatly. He turned to Tifa. You have come across a journal from the Angels themselves."

Tifa gave a sharp gasp and her eyes widened.

"What does it say?"

He looked at her and smiled.

"It says a number of things. It talks about their lives, prophecies and so on. I understand that you are looking for battle tactics of the holy ones. Are you not?"

Cloud nodded.

"Well I read about Anjasoola. It's a meditation process that they use to prepare themselves for a certain stance called…."

A raspy and dry voice interrupted the conversation with

"called Anjasukatei".

The whole team turned around to see Sephiroth standing there leaning up against a wall. Sweat dripping down his face. Obviously straining to stay awake. Aeris was on his case instantly. She cast as healing wind and he opened his eyes in relief.

"I have to tell you guys something"

That's that for this chapter. Thanks for reading and I will update sooner. I promise. And guess what. I am playing the game again. I am on the part where I am about to go on the world map. But I am playin it on PC. Wish me luck. Nite.
