Alright guys this is chapter 31. Lets go.

Chapter 31: Desperation.

Foggy baby blue eyes flickered open to the slight touch of a feminine hand. Cloud looked up and saw pink and a small smile played on his lips. Aeris was in the room with him, he could smell her.

She had been there for a while now, not daring to wake him up. But it was getting late and he needed something to eat. It was now 9:00 pm and he had been there since 4:00 pm. He looked at her and in his eyes she could see the pain, the loss, and the agony of what was the obvious. Tifa was dying and she had a gut feeling that the doctors weren't letting on everything.

"What time is it?" he asked

She looked down at him and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Its 9:00 Cloud. You have to get up and get something to eat."

He looked at her. "But I don't want to leave her side.

Aeris jus sighed and knelt beside him

"I know this Cloud. But at this rate you will die before she even wakes up. Look at you. You need rest, a good bath, and something to eat. Ill stay here with Tifa and keep your seat warm until you get back later on tonight or in the morning. I swear I won't let anything happen to her."

He was about to protest again but Aeris placed a finger on his lips, held him by the hand, and helped him up. She led him to the door and opened it. He took one last look at his love and tears fell freely once again. Aeris was heart broken; she had never seen her play-big brother so hurt before.

She returned to the seat and sat down. She was quiet for a while but there was something heavy on her heart. She looked at her best friend and sighed. How had all of this happened? The one answer that came to mind was Jenova. Loathe and anger began its course through her heart but she relaxed and remembered the situation at hand. She turned to her dying friend and sighed once again. Tears wouldn't come for she felt that she had cried her tear well dry the night before.

The members of AVALANCHE were truly in a dilemma. Tifa needed a blood transplant badly and nobody on the team could help her due to Tifa's advanced case of blood. Her last hope was Aeris, and Aeris knew it. She had never mentioned this to the team before but when she was just a child, Infalna had taught her and old Ancient ritual. When the Cetra first inhibited the planet there was no such thing as war. Everyone lived peacefully and life was good. Then one day the calamity from the skies came and changed all that. The first thing that occurred when Jenova's blood lined reached earth was kill a Cetra child. After a short scuffle the alien was captured and put to trial.

The name of that alien was Zenmoe, and he eventually got sentenced to death and beheading. Even though the Cetra never had this problem before, they were always prepared and had their laws established before hand. But before Zenmoe died he proclaimed that he was not the last of his kind and in the near future his race would rule over the Cetras and kill whoever didn't bend to their leader's will. Even after the execution the mother of the child was still inconsolable. She cried day after day and night after night. She swore vengeance and set about to make sure that nothing like this would happen again.

The Cetras technology was limited but their magic resources were limitless. So day after day that mother worked. She developed a technique that allowed a Cetra to transfer his/her energy to another through the sharing of blood. A chant was required to perform this deed and in the end no Cetra was ever killed again until the day of the invasion.

Aeris' mind was far from where she was at the time. When she caught herself she sighed at the thought of how her race was erased from the planet. She was the last of her kind even though she wasn't a pure breed. Aeris had been contemplating this maneuver for the last 4 hours. And although she learned of it as a child, throughout her years the planet always reminded her of what her heritage was and whispered to her the details of the ritual. She knew it as well as any other Cetra from the days of old.

Aeris looked at her friend lying on the bed and her resolve was strengthened. The members of the team would have to understand her predicament and her reason for doing what she had to do. She went to the door and locked it. She then went to Tifa's side and pulled out the IV from her arm. Tifa was now breathing by herself and Aeris was great full that she didn't have to rush the procedure. She retrieved her dagger from her right boot and held it in her hand.

She was left handed, therefore her left hand was stronger and she knew for a fact that Tifa was right handed. She put the dagger to her vein and winced as the blade cut through her flesh and vein. Tears welled up at the immense pain that she felt but she had to move quickly for she felt feint. She reached forth with the bloodied hand and grabbed Tifa's right hand and made the same incision. She then joined the two cuts. Hers on top with her blood leaking into Tifa's own opening. She let this happen for about five minutes. About this time now Aeris felt like dropping to the ground for she had never lost this much blood before, not even in battle. She quickly cast her healing wind spell and healed the cut on her arm. Although the cut was gone there was still a dull throbbing in her hand and she had to steady herself before continuing. Aeris looked at her crafty work and continued. She put her pointer and middle finger on the deep cut in Tifa's wrist and began to chant.

"Å ånd av jord. Lar min blodstrømning gjennom hennes vener og våkner kraften leve i henne.

She said once.

Å ånd av jord. lar min blodstrømning gjennom hennes vener og våkner kraften leve i henne." She said again

This time Aeris' incision opened again. But now it was not blood that flowed from it but the lifestream instead. Aeris smiled through the pain and feeling of weakness that washed over her body. The lifestream flowed down her wrist and latched onto Tifa's. It entered her body and flowed in a thick steady stream. When it finally stopped there was a bright flash of light and a blue orb of energy removed itself from Aeris and divided itself. Each orb then grew in size. They looked as if they were feeding off from one another. Then they both parted. One into Aeris and the other into Tifa. Tifa's cut healed immediately and she was just as still from when the procedure began. This had never been done before, from Cetra to human it could very well kill Tifa. But Aeris had no other option. She prayed to her mother that it worked and then her world went black.

A nurse happened to be in the darkened hallway and she saw a light coming from Mrs. Strife's room. As she pushed the door she realized it was locked. She pulled out her Master key and opened the door. At first glance it looked as though everything was alright. But when she looked closer she saw a figure on the ground. She stepped closer and saw blood on the patient's bed and on the floor. She immediately ran to the figure on the ground and checked for pulse. The person who was obviously a female was extremely stressed and exhausted. She could tell from the ragged breathing escaping from the body. She set the body on the next available bed in the room and went to check on Tifa. When she checked her vitals her eyes widened and she almost yelled. She ran out the room screaming

"DDOOOOOOCTOR!"

Alright guys dats dun. Hope you guys enjoyed it very much. Ill start working on chapter 32 when I get a chance.
