The chapter that hasn't been in over half a year.

Fire breathing contest with the family.

Let's see who wins!

Rosalina wasn't sure what she was doing today, but she knew she might have some fun with it. It was a bonding activity after all. And after all, this isn't something she's done before, it's definitely something new and interesting to participate in. She had no idea how it was going to go or if there was anything to truly gain from it.

Wait, what was she thinking? She was spending time with an expanded family, of course she was going to gain something from it. Like having a lot of fun with said family with one of their favorite pastimes that they now got to do much more often, due to their newfound peace with the Mushroom Kingdom.

Bowser blew a fireball into the air and laughed uproariously as it exploded like a flurry of fireworks.

"Fire breathing contest, kids!" Bowser roared with glee with raised fists, as Junior and the Koopalings cheered along with him in excitement, while Rosalina calmly claps her hands with a serene smile. "Now them, I'm sure you all know the rules by now, but since Space Queen is new at it, I'll explain it." He pounded a fist into his paw with a grin. "Each of us takes a great deep breath, gather all of the fire in our bellies, and blow out the largest fireball we can. It's gonna be a fun time, Space Princess, I promise ya!"

"Oh, is that so?" Rosalina tilted her head as she watched for Koopalings takes feel breathing exercises to warm themselves up for the family contest. It's a form of both a competition and a form of training for the family's fire breathing activities. She supposed that as a recently joined member of the family, it was only fair that she partook in some of the more eccentric games that they tended to play. It really did sound like quite a bit of fun.

"Alright, here goes nothing!"

Iggy went first and foremost, going on to blow a ball of fire that was around the size of a medium sized rock, which still managed to soar pretty far into the air, until it exploded into a spray of green sparks and sparkles, with an image of his face at the end.

"Haha!"

"My turn!" Larry cheerily volunteered, taking a deep breath and blowing a fireball into the air. The others watched it soar higher by the moment, until it too exploded Ina. Spray of sparkles and sparkles, this time being a bit on the blue side.

"Pfft. Day's nothin'. Watch dis'!" Roy huffed as he adjusted his shades, rolling his shoulder slightly. He soon breathed quite a large ball of fire into the air, seeking it for a bit rather than the others, and yet also grow larger by the moment, until it vanished in a bright explosion of pink.

"I can hear that easily." Morton boasted, before he took a breath and fired a large fireball into the air, though it managed to explode quite early, outwards with a colorful shockwave. "Ah dang it! Too soon!"

"Lemmy go next!" Lemmy gathered up a bit of a breath, before he released a fireball upwards...and it exploded right in front of him.

"Lemmy?!" Everyone exclaimed with a bit of concern. After the smoke cleared, everyone sighed with relief as he was simply covered in soot and ash, and coughed a bit of it out of his throat.

"...Whoops."

"You did even worse than I did!" Morton uttered in disbelief.

"Step aside, siblings." Ludwig huffed as he stepped forward, waving his paw. "Be prepared to see a superior fireball."

"Oh gee, this should be fun." Wendy rolled her eyes.

A circle of blue flames gathered around him, before he gestured in a way that indicated he was pushing fire upwards, before his eyes glowed sharply and he blasts a ball of fire towards the skies.

Soon enough, it detonated in a brilliant display of blue, enough to briefly radiate across the fields.

"Hmph." Ludwig ran a paw through his hair with a proud smile on his face.

"Hah! Watch this, Luddy." Wendy huffed s she gently pushed him aside, with a bright pink circle of flames gathering around her, before her eyes flashed and she bellowed a blast of fire towards the skies, which soon detonated in a similarly bright and sparkling shine of pink. "Beautiful!~"

"HAH!" Junior bellowed as well firing a blast of fire towards the skies without much warning, and the fireball soared gracefully, before it detonated, and an image face of himself appeared and sparkled like fireworks. "Mines the best, clearly!"

"Impressive, brother." Ludwig lightly clapped with an approving nod.

"It was amazing." Rosalina lightly clapped.

"That's my boys and girl! You've got some truly powerful bellows, worthy of royal Koopas!" Bowser chuckled with his fists on his hips. He then bumped his knuckles and grinned. "But let your old man show ya how it's done."

He stomped once, and took quite a deep breath. Unlike everyone else, the flames that were gathering around him were much more intense, he was gathering quite a bit of momentum, as he was truly intending on drawing a rather impressive fire from his belly.

With his eyes shooting open, he roared, and a gigantic ball of fire soon soared towards the skies. It kept traveling, and traveling upwards. Far enough for it to blast right through a cloud, and even further upwards until it disappeared behind them.

Then the detonation happened, and it resulted in those clouds being blown open, creating a giant whole in the clouds and casting a bright fiery light across the entire Koopa Kingdom, perhaps even farther beyond.

"Wooooaaahoahoahoah?!" All of his children gaped in complete and utter awe at his feat. He couldn't help but chuckle at their reaction. It was to be expected, after all. For their father was Koopa King.

"GWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You're all just now realizing how incredible your Papa is, huh?!"

"That was amazing, Papa!" Junior jumped with a cheer.

"You've really outdone yourself, father." Ludwig admitted sincerely, having a genuine look of surprise on his face.

"Pfft, of course you did amazingly. Daddy's the best when it comes to fire-breathing." Wendy smiled while cheerily clapping.

Rosalina gently cleared her throat, bringing attention to her as she lightly brushed off her dress. "If you don't mind me asking, can I take my turn, now?"

"Be my guest, Space Queen. Surprise us." Bowser gestured forward for her, and she gracefully smiled and did a curtsy in return, before proceeding forward. She held out her hand, and briefly felt the fiery energy of a Fire Flower empower her. This, she made her move. But not in the way anyone thought that she would.

Rather than letting out a roar or s bellow like the rest, she simply held a hand before her lips like a platform, took a breath, and gently blower.

It started off as a small fireball at first. But then it found it's momentum, and shot forth, then upwards. Then it accelerated. It's speed increased bit by bit, reaching jp to the same height that Bowser's fireball did.

Until finally...the fireball exploded. And it detonated majestically at that. The embers that spread throughout the sky took the shake of radiant fiery stars, casting a magnificent glow across the lands wherever they went.

The kids, especially Wendy, Junior, and Bowser, looked at her in utter surprise.

And then, elation.

"That was FANTASTIC, Mama!" Junior beamed while jumping up to happily hug her, which she was all too willing to accept, lightly scratching his cheek.

"Good grief, Ma. That fireball into as gorgeous and explosive!" Roy chuckled as he removed his shades for a moment, having especially needed them from such a bright and radiant glow.

"I've never seen a fireball explode like that before!" Morton supported with widened eyes.

"Awesome! Do it again, do it again!" Larry and Lemmy both cheered in unison.

"Magnificent..." Ludwig admired the remnants of the explosion with an artful smile. "Such grace, yet just as destructive."

"I know. Isn't that amazing?" Wendy clasped her hands with glittering eyes. "Mom really knows her stuff! And this is her first time playing this game!"

Bowser folded his arms with a huff, closing his eyes with a smirk. "Bwahaha. Of course it was awesome. The was a fireball launched by my wife, and your mother. It's to be expected."

"Well then, I'm glad I was able to live up to those." Rosalina smiles serenely, gently placing a kiss on his cheek, which definitely got him red across the face, and steak lightly blowing from his ears. Gosh, how has he not adjusted to this completely, yet?

"Hey, Ma caused another explosion!" Roy laughed uproariously while pointing at his father. "It's an explosion of red across Pop's face!"

"Ah shut it!" Bowser gnashed his fangs in annoyance, but that simply got everyone else laughing even harder. He harrumphed, folding his arms and turning away, tail thumping the ground impudently.

Although, he did still let a smile grace him.

Looks like Rosalina and Bowser both won.

As did everyone else, cause fun was the goal.

More to come. Eventually. Will reach chapter forty before we close this for good. More after marriage shenanigans await.

Until then.
