Age 779

Somewhere out in the vastness of the Northern Galaxy, a Galactic Patrol spaceship traveled across a sea of stars.

It landed on a small, unknown planet. Two 25 year old Patrollers got out of the vehicle, and walked towards a ramen shop, standing in the distance.

"Um, Begu...are you sure this place is not as bad as the previous two ramen shops we've been to?", asked the first Patroller.

The second Patroller happily nodded, "Yeah, man! The service here is pretty awesome!"

"Are you really sure? There aren't any wild animals around, or horrible looking seats, or poor manageme-"

"Mafin, it's alright. Calm down. Just...just trust me with this one. Okay, dude?"

Mafin sighed, "Alright..."

While these two friends wore the standard Galactic Patrol uniform, they were both physically different from one another; Mafin was a member of the Pesutorian race, which meant he had orange skin, pointy ears, blond hair, and expressive black eyes.

Begu, on the other hand, was a member of the Octorian race, which meant he had purple skin, yellow spots, black eyes, and an octopus-like head. Although, Begu was rather short compared to other members of his species, who were usually of an average height of 5'9.

The Patrollers sat down on separate stools.

Begu pressed a nearby bell, "Service!"

The booth's metallic door opened up, revealing a chef with a turtle-like head.

The chef smiled at the two, and asked, "Can I get you boys anything?"

Begu replied, "Two bowls of ramen, chicken flavored. And, uh, make mine a bit more spicy."

The chef nodded, and started to prepare the Patrollers' food.

After silently waiting a few minutes, the chef brought them their orders. Both of their bowls (as well as their chopsticks) were resting on black, plastic trays.

Mafin bowed in respect, "Thank you for the food, good sir."

Begu bowed as well, "Yeah, thanks man."

The chef nodded, and went back into the kitchen.

The duo grabbed their respective chopsticks, and they began to dig in to their meals.

Both men happily feasted away, taking in the seasoned noodles, the savory, savory broth, and, in Begu's case, the additional condiments.

The Patrollers soon finished, and they each let out a few small burps (Mafin immediately excused himself afterwards.)

Mafin smiled, "You know, you were right. I actually enjoyed this place. Thanks."

Begu smirked and replied, "No problem, my dude!"

He pulled out five credits from his right pocket, and placed them on the counter, "Alright. We're good. Let's get out of here."

Mafin nodded, and the two of them proceeded to walk back over to their spaceship.

Begu folded his arms behind his head, "So, where do you wanna go next? Galaxy Way? The Intergalactic Comic Store? The...library?"

He mentioned that last option with a lot less enthusiasm.

Mafin thought about what their next destination would be, when he suddenly remembered something important, "Oh no! We have to go back to Pesutoria! Right now!"

Begu perked a brow in confusion, "Um...why?"

Mafin exclaimed, "Our next training session with Ms. Supai is tonight!"

Begu's eyes widened in shock, "OH CRAP! I forgot about that!"

Mafin stated, "I did too! We have to hurry!"

Both men ran at a much faster pace towards the ship. The duo opened up the glass dome, and they each got inside. Mafin activated the controls, and grabbed the steering wheel. The vessel then immediately took off into the depths of space.

It took them roughly 30 minutes, but the Patrollers thankfully managed to make it back to Pesutoria in time. The boys let out a collective sigh of relief as they re-entered the orange planet's atmosphere.

It was now the late evening in the small town of Bekari.

Various folk were closing up each of their businesses for the day.

Except for one dojo.

This was a small building, located somewhere in the middle of town. It was a traditional looking dojo; nice and well kept, both in its exterior and interior.

And speaking of its interior, there was an assortment of various championship trophies resting on the walls. There were other odd items lying around as well, such as a sheathed machete, the cannon of a dismantled laser gun, and a large glass jar filled with a bunch of spikey antennae, forcibly removed from various vicious aliens.

Its owner, a 71 year old woman, was calmly meditating on one of the floor mats.

She sensed two familiar faces come in through the door, panting heavily. A smile appeared on her face.

"Greetings, Ms. Supai!", said the duo in unison, bowing in a respectable manner. They were now dressed in identical looking green gi.

"Hello, my dudes!", greeted the older woman, "Glad you guys could join me for our second special session!"

Like Mafin and Begu, she was also quite the colorful alien. She was a member of the Fumian race, which meant she had long locks of lush green hair, light yellow skin, as well as expressive green eyes.

For this occasion, she wore a simple black gi, fitting of her status as master of the dojo.

Sorry...if we were...a little late.", apologized an out of breath Mafin, "We...we were...changing into our uniforms...at our lockers."

"Nah, it's cool.", said Ms. Supai, who waved off the apology in a nonchalant manner, "Just take your seats."

The duo sat down on their own mats, criss-cross style.

Ms. Supai grinned, "Sooo, before we start, I wanted to ask you this—how was your day?"

Begu spoke up first, "Well, today was pretty boring. As usual. Just another day of guarding the entrance of the Headquarters."

Ms. Supai nodded, "Mmmmm...still not exciting, huh?"

Begu replied, "Nope."

Ms. Supai turned to Mafin, "And what about you? I never get to hear what your thoughts on the matter are."

Begu added, "Yeah, and I don't remember you telling me what your opinion was either..."

Mafin nervously replied, "I...um...I...actually...don't really mind guarding the entrance."

Begu perked a brow at his friend, "Really? Need I remind you that this has been our job, all day, every day, for the past year?! You don't mind being bored every day?!"

Mafin reasoned, "I mean, I get to read different volumes of Northern Galaxy History every day."

Begu scoffed and thought, "Why do you even still read that boring-as-hell book series?"

He then said, "Besides that, can you think of ANYTHING else that's exciting to do the entire time?"

Mafin tried to think of another positive aspect of guarding the entrance. He then realized that Begu was right—there really wasn't anything else exciting while on the job. He and Begu have essentially been sitting around, guarding the entrance from an unforeseen threat. And what's even worse...is that there haven't even been any actual threats to the station!

The Pesutorian awkwardly rubbed his arm and stated, "W-Well...at least we get paid a decent amou—"

"Dude.", interrupted Begu, "Just give it a rest. This job...kinda sucks."

Mafin let out a sigh, "You're right. I admit, being a part of the Galactic Patrol isn't as exciting as I thought it would be."

Just then, to the duo's confusion, Ms. Supai began chuckling to herself.

Mafin questioned, "Umm, Ms. Supai? What's so funny?"

"S-Sorry, Mafin!", replied the older Fumian, in between chuckles, "It's just that...your great uncle Bisuk and I...went through...something similar...42 years ago! Now, uh, this was back when we were Frieza Force soldiers-"

"Ms. Supai, I'm sorry to interrupt, but we already know about this story.", informed Mafin.

Ms. Supai raised an eyebrow, "Wait, you do? I told you about it?"

Begu stated, "You told it to us, like, several weeks ago! Back when we asked about all the weird stuff you have lying around here, and you told us this really long story? Remember?"

Ms. Supai rubbed the back of her head in a slightly embarrassed manner, "Ah, dang. Sorry about that. It's...uh...it's been a busy week for me, and it kinda slipped my mind."

Her brief embarrassment quickly faded, and she smirked at the duo, "But you can't deny the similarities!"

Ms. Supai then said, "Now, why don't we resume our ki sensing lesson from last week? Y'know, to get your minds off of work for now?"

Mafin and Begu collectively nodded and said, "Sure."

"First, I want the both of you to close your eyes.", instructed Ms. Supai, "And just like before, I want you to take deep breaths."

The two students proceeded to follow their master's instructions, taking deep, calming breaths in the process.

Ms. Supai continued, "Next, try to 'see' with your body. What I mean by this is that by concentrating, you're letting your bodies sense out the energies of all the people around you."

The two students silently nodded, taking this all in.

They concentrated as hard as they could, breathing in and out. Finally, after what felt like several minutes, the duo began sensing something. It felt like three different energies, all vibrating in a calm manner.

Both Mafin and Begu opened their eyes, and panted heavily.

"Wh-Whoa!", they exclaimed simultaneously, shocked and amazed by this newly learned technique.

Ms. Supai grinned, "Pretty cool, am I right?"

"Incredible...", replied Mafin.

"I'm with you there, dude.", added Begu, "This is just...amazing..."

Ms. Supai happily said, "You'll get used to that feeling."

She stood up and smiled, "Now let's head to the back of the building. We're gonna practice some flying-"

Suddenly, the elder Fumian sensed a huge surge of power, and it was coming from somewhere within the Northern Galaxy.

Mafin and Begu looked at their teacher with confused expressions.

Ms. Supai smiled knowingly to herself, and thought, "Yep. It's definitely him."

The Fumian looked down at her students, and she asked, "Do you two know about Ms. Gine's son, Goku? Or rather, do you remember me telling you some stuff about him?"

"Um...yeah?", replied both of her students. They were confused as to why their master was asking these questions all of a sudden.

The Fumian explained, "Well, the energy I sensed just now...was from Goku himself. And it was massive. Like, really, really massive this time around!"

The duo's eyes widened in shock upon hearing her response.

Ms. Supai softly chuckled, "To think that he's evolved into this wonderful man. I'm...I'm honestly proud of him. It makes me really happy that he's come this far."

At that moment, a new idea popped into her head, and she excitedly said, "I think you guys should go live on Earth with him!"

Mafin and Begu exclaimed, "Wait, what?! Why?!"

Ms. Supai explained, "Goku is the strongest person on that planet by now. I believe he'll be able to teach you an even more diverse set of martial arts, than I ever could! And hey, you guys might be able to score some new jobs there too!"

Mafin nervously stammered, "That...that...um..."

"-SOUNDS FREAKIN' AWESOME!", happily shouted Begu, "WHEN DO WE START?!"

Mafin's eyes widened at this response, "You actually want to do this?"

Begu nodded, "Yeah, dude! I mean, didn't you hear what Ms. Supai said?"

Mafin rubbed his arm, "But, what's wrong with doing all that stuff...erm...here? In this part of the galaxy?"

Begu perked a brow, "Wait, you don't wanna head to Earth?"

Mafin awkwardly replied, "I'm just...I'm a little nervous, leaving home like this. I mean, we're essentially moving out of our respective planets for the first time."

Begu said, "I mean, we are getting older, man."

Mafin sighed, "I know, but still..."

Ms. Supai smiled warmly, and rubbed Mafin's head, "Hey, you'll be fine. You're gonna adapt to your new surroundings in no time."

Mafin questioned, "You really believe I'll do so?"

The elder Fumian grinned, "Oh, of course! I adjusted to Earth life, like, the day after I arrived, so I'm sure it won't take you long!"

Mafin perked up in response to this. If a tough-as-nails lady like Ms. Supai adjusted to Earth once, then perhaps, maybe he could as well!

Mafin bowed and said, "Thank you, Ms. Supai."

Ms. Supai affectionately tapped his head, and pulled away from him.

She then instructed, "In the meantime, let's get back to learning those flight lessons."

The duo nodded in unison, and exclaimed, "Right!"

A half an hour passed, and the session had concluded for the day.

After bowing and saying goodbye to their master, the duo left the room, and went to the locker room to change into normal clothes. Mafin wore a simple buttoned up blue shirt, brown khaki pants, and dress shoes; in contrast, Begu wore a gray hoodie, jeans, and sneakers.

As they walked out of the building and onto the sidewalk, Mafin pulled out a small, round communication device from his pocket, "Well, I'm going to head back home. What about you?"

Begu replied, "Yeah, same here. It's getting kinda late..."

He let out a big yawn, and continued, "I'm gonna let my parents know I'm finished. They should be here in a half an hour."

Mafin nodded and said, "Please get home safe, Begu."

Begu smirked, "Sure. You too, man."

The two fist bumped each other, and Mafin began walking back to the ship. Mafin pressed a small button on his device, and it projected a small holographic image of his mother, Kekki, who appeared to be in the middle of reading some sort of fantasy novel. She was in her mid-50's, and wore a white dress shirt, along with a pair of light brown bell-bottoms, and dress shoes.

Kekki looked up from from her book, and said, "Oh hello, Mafin! Are you guys done with your session?"

Mafin replied, "We are. I'll be at the house in a little while."

"Okay. Please drive safely. Love you, sweetie."

"Love you too."

With that said, the holographic image switched off, and Mafin placed the device back in his pocket.

The Pesutorian thought, "I really hope Mom and Dad don't freak out at the fact that I'm leaving..."

Mafin let out a nervous sigh, and arrived at the ship.

He got inside, activated the vessel's controls once again, and began flying away from the dojo. He did consider trying out his new ki flight ability, but he didn't want to risk burning his energy out too fast. Begu probably thought the same thing.

The Pesutorian flew across several blocks before coming across his family's house. He landed and parked in the garage.

Mafin then got out of the ship, and closed the garage door.

He walked up the stairs leading to the main house door, and pressed the doorbell.

A few seconds passed by, and the door opened up to reveal his father, Kurowa. He was in his late 50's, and wore a casual V-neck sweater, along with a pair of dark sweats, and navy blue slippers.

Kurowa smiled, "How's it going, Mafin?"

Mafin replied, "U-Um, good."

Kurowa nodded and said, "Alright, then come on in."

Mafin walked inside, and closed the door behind him.

As the two of them headed over to the living room, Mafin was happily greeted by his mother with a hug. The young Pesutorian embraced her back. They let go of one another soon after.

Mafin then asked, "Can I...um...can I talk to you guys for a bit?"

Both of his parents looked at one another for a brief moment, then looked back at their son. They sat down on the family couch, and they asked, "What is it?"

Mafin took a deep breath, and thought, "Here we go. Let's try and articulate ourselves..."

He explained, "While we had our training session, Ms. Supai had sensed the energy of Goku, the warrior I told you guys about a while ago. She suggested that Begu and I go to Earth and train with him, and get new jobs. So, I'm going to have to resign from the Patrol, and I'm also going to have to move out of here. Is that okay with you?"

Kurowa replied, "Sure it is."

Kekki added, "I agree."

Mafin's eyes widened in shock. He didn't think they would take the news that well.

"You're...you're fine with this?", questioned the young Pesutorian.

Kurowa explained, "Mafin, you're a full grown adult now. We don't have to tell you how to choose your next life decisions."

Kekki said, "If you want to train with Goku, and start a new life on Earth, then that's your decision to make."

Mafin took another deep breath, and stated, "Yes. I am interested in starting a new life on Earth."

His parents quietly nodded, and Kurowa said, "Alrighty, then. I guess you better start getting your stuff together."

Mafin nodded and walked over to his room.

It was a very neat, well kept space; it featured the usual parts of a room, such as a king-sized bed, a large closet, a dresser drawer filled with various clothes, and a writing desk.

The walls were also adorned with many different taped-up scribbles and drawings of various fictional heroes that Mafin grew up with, such as Captain Boxershorts, Madame Timelines, and Astrid The Barbarian.

Standing a few feet away from his bed, was a large shelf filled dozens upon dozens of books. One shelf was filled with a bunch of notebooks, another was filled with various graphic novels, comic books, and historical novels. The last shelf was filled with various DVDs, mainly documentaries on various historical figures.

Mafin rubbed his hands together, and thought, "Okay. Time to pack. How are we going to do this?"

At that moment, the device in his pocket vibrated. Mafin pulled out the device, and he pressed the button to see a small holographic version of Begu, who was putting various sketchbooks and comic books into a large box.

"Hey man! How'd it go down with your folks?", asked the Octorian.

"They took the news surprisingly well.", replied Mafin, who sat his device down on his bed.

The Pesutorian opened his closet, and pulled out three boxes that his mother had saved a few years back, just in case if they needed to get rid of some stuff. He then placed one box near his large shelf, and started placing a few of his sketchbooks into it.

Begu chuckled, "That sounds nice. My folks were pretty loud about it."

"Wait, what happened?", asked Mafin.

"Nah, it's nothing bad, or anything. They were, like, cheering about how I'm finally heading out into new territory, and that I should cherish this moment, and...uh...yeah, that kind of stuff."

"Well, that's good to hear.", said Mafin, who grabbed the second box nearby, and moved onto his graphic novels.

Begu suddenly tripped on several unknown objects in his room, and shouted, "CRAP! THIS STUPID CRAPPY CHAIR'S WHEELS KEEP GETTING IN MY WAY!"

His father, Ovacado, yelled out offscreen, "WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT LANGUAGE?!"

Begu nervously chuckled and replied, "Sorry, Dad!"

Mafin turned around and asked, "Are you okay?"

Begu sat down, and rubbed his foot, "I'm fine. Y'know, I'm really glad I won't have to deal with this chair anymore. Or, heck, even this ol' mess I call my room."

Mafin smirked, "It would be far less of a mess if you would just clean it up once in a while, Begu."

The Octorian glared at his friend, "Quiet, you! We both know I'm too lazy to do so!"

Mafin chuckled, "Yeah, yeah..."

The two friends continued to place their next set of items into their respective boxes.

After a while, Begu thought aloud, "Man, I wonder what we're gonna do on Earth once we get settled there. I mean, besides training, and finding new jobs, that is."

Mafin shrugged, "I have no idea."

He let out a deep, emotional sigh, "To be honest, right now...all I'm thinking about is how much I'm going to miss this planet. It feels weird, not coming home to see my parents' faces."

Begu said, "Yeah, I get it. Despite all the constant chatter and noise that goes on in the city...I'm kinda gonna miss my world too."

Mafin quietly nodded in agreement, and both he and Begu continued to pack their stuff up for the rest of the night.

One Week Later...

Mafin and Begu, as well as their respective parents, were standing near the Galactic Patrol ship. The duo were dressed in their matching green gi, while everyone else was wearing more casual clothes.

Various packed boxes were stuffed into the trunk of the vessel, and both of the duo's fathers placed two massive travel bags into the main compartment.

"Aaand...we're done!", exclaimed Ovacado, who closed the glass dome shut, "Thank the flippin' stars we managed to get all that stuff in there..."

Ovacado himself, also in his late 50's, was a well-built man. He wore a large gray hoodie, and a pair of black trackpants, along with a pair of beat-up sneakers.

Perri, Begu's mother, affectionately hugged her son tightly. She wore a lovely pink t-shirt with a pair of jeans, and red sandals.

Begu chuckled, "I'm not gonna be gone forever, Mom! I'll come visit you and Dad. I promise."

Perri replied, "I'm just gonna miss my little boy SO much!"

Begu sighed, "I know. I'll miss you too."

Ovacado rubbed his son's forehead, "Good luck out there. Make sure you don't do anything foolish now."

Begu nodded, "Sure thing!"

At the same time that was going on, Kekki asked her son, "Did you guys hand in your resignation forms?"

Mafin replied, "Yes, we did. Begu was pretty happy about handing his in."

Kekki softly chuckled, and smiled at her son.

She placed a hand on his shoulder, "Take care of yourself out there, sweetheart."

Mafin happily nodded, "Right."

"Yes, please take of yourself! And good luck with your new life on Earth!", stated Kurowa as he walked up to his son, and placed an arm around him, "It's a new journey, being on your own. So just continue to be your usual responsible self. But also try to enjoy yourself while you're there."

Mafin smiled warmly, "Thanks, Dad."

"And who knows, you might find a special someone there.", said Kurowa with a playful wink.

Mafin chuckled and said, "Yeah..."

He thought to himself, "Like that's ever going to occur..."

Kurowa let go of Mafin, and the young Pesutorian walked over to Begu.

"Ready for this, my dude?", asked Begu with a smirk.

Mafin replied, "Yes, I am."

The duo got into the ship's cockpit, and closed the glass dome.

Mafin activated the vessel's controls, and it slowly began to rise off the ground.

Both he and Begu looked out to see their respective parents, all cheerfully waving goodbye once more.

The duo waved back at them, and they took off into the sky. Soon, they left Pesutoria's atmosphere entirely.

While adjusting his seat, Begu asked, "Has the ship's GPS been set up?"

Mafin replied, "Yeah. I set it up last night."

"Okay, good.", said Begu with a relieved sigh, "Then we'll be able to reach Earth in no time."

Mafin smiled, "We sure will..."

Unfortunately, after a long, long, long flight through the depths of space, the duo got caught up in a massive asteroid field, much to their displeasure.

Several large and small asteroids were launching out at the ship's exterior.

Mafin was desperately struggling to turn the small vessel in a new direction, but all of the asteroids were blocking his view.

"Do you know how to get us out of here?!", angrily asked Begu.

Mafin exclaimed, "I'm doing the best I can!"

The ship rumbled and rocked around in a violent manner, bringing both of the former Patrollers to their knees.

As the duo almost made it near the end of the asteroid field, they saw a certain blue planet come into view.

Mafin grinned, "We're almost there!"

Begu sighed with relief, "Oh, thank the stars!"

Suddenly, a small asteroid crashed straight through the ship's front side, damaging it.

Upon seeing this, Begu facepalmed himself and groaned, "Ugh. Why? Just...why?"

The vessel violently rumbled once again, and the lights flickered out.

As the alarms blared inside, the duo desperately tried to hold on to the controls as they tumbled towards the blue planet.

Arriving in some random rocky landscape, the Patrollers' ship crash landed in a violent manner, forming a massive crater in the process. Its dome capsule opened, and Mafin and Begu slowly got out out their seats, visibly exhausted.

Begu smiled weakly, "We...We're alive..."

Mafin chuckled, "Yeah..."

The boys high-fived one another, then tumbled out of the ship. They collapsed onto the ground, and fell into unconsciousness.

Unbeknownst to the duo, a mysterious woman slowly approached them.

Author's Note:

For those that are confused about this introduction, I would like to address some things:

-This story is actually set in the same continuity as my other DB fanfiction, A Strange Group of Heroes, in which Gine, the mother of Goku, survives Planet Vegeta's destruction, and goes on this space adventure with two rogue Frieza Force soldiers, Supai and Bisuk. Although, the aforementioned plot for that fic is completely unconnected to this fic, so you don't really have to read the former to understand the latter.

-Both Pesutorians and Fumians are entirely original species I created for both this story, and ASGOH. All Pesutorians are named after various pastries, since the word pesutori, means pastry in Japanese.

All Fumians are named after spices, and as for the name 'Fumian' itself...I cannot recall the original Japanese word it was based on. Sorry about that^^;

Overall, I just thought it would be really fun to create some new species of DB aliens!

-Octorians are actually supposed to be Appule's race. I just needed an easier way to describe Begu, other than just writing his name over and over.

Now that that huge info dump is out of the way, what do you all think about this story so far?

Let me know in the reviews, and I will see you all next time! Take care!
