The group left the lab, and flew out into the sky once more.

As they soared across the clouds, Mafin looked over at 21.

The researcher had her headphones on, and was listening to music on her MP3.

She was probably hearing something good, since she was nodding along to some sort of tune.

Mafin smiled softly. It felt rather nice to see 21 enjoy some sort of pleasure in the midst of this mission, at least for a little bit.

Several minutes later, the group arrived at a large grassy landscape, where they saw more clones wandering around.

Once again, 16, 17, and 18 all took on the more powerful clones.

Begu turned to Mafin and asked, "So, do you wanna join them, or do you wanna hang back here again?"

"Actually...why don't you just fight some of those clones yourself?", Mafin suggested, "I can just stay back here with 21."

Begu perked a brow, "Wait, are you sure? You don't want me to join you?"

"No, not this time.", replied Mafin, who waved a dismissive hand, "I don't want you to end up getting bored."

Begu stared at his friend for a few more seconds, wondering what he was really up to.

The Octorian then thought, "Wait a minute. He's spending time with 21. Alone..."

Begu's eyes widened, as he instantly figured out what was going on.

He calmly nodded, "Ah, okay then. I see what you're doing, man."

Begu nonchalantly shrugged, and replied, "Alright, my dude. I won't get in your way. Have fun!"

He rocketed towards the battlefield, and began to fight a Krillin clone in the distance.

The Pesutorian nodded, and turned towards the researcher, who was sitting in a field of flowers, several feet away. She was still listening to her music, happily humming to herself.

Mafin gulped and thought, "Darn! Can't have my nasal allergies getting in the way!"

He called out, "HEY! 21!"

21 slightly jumped, and took her headphones off, placing them around her neck.

She turned around and saw the Pesutorian.

Mafin awkwardly chuckled, "S-Sorry about that."

"Mafin? What are you doing here?", asked 21. She was confused as to why he was not joining the others this time around.

Mafin replied, "I wanted to hang out with you. You know, just to see how you're doing."

"Well...um...okay.", said 21, "Do you want to sit with me?"

Mafin replied, "Yes. But, could we, like, sit somewhere else?"

"Um, why?", questioned 21.

Mafin awkwardly rubbed his arm, "I, uh...I'm allergic to flowers."

21's eyes widened, and she quickly stood up, "Oh, goodness! I'm sorry!"

Mafin exclaimed, "Nonono! It's okay! Just come over here!"

21 nodded, "R-Right!"

The researcher walked out of the large field, and towards the Pesutorian.

Mafin felt his heart beat a little more rapidly as she came closer, and he took quick deep breaths to calm himself down.

"Where'd you like to sit at?", asked 21 as she stood in front of her alien friend.

Mafin looked around the landscape, and saw the other androids and Begu fighting the clones in the distance. The Pesutorian awkwardly bit his lip. He was really unsure of where to go!

Mafin looked back at 21, "Uh...um...w-where we're standing at right now seems like a good spot!"

21 nodded, "Okay, then."

The pair sat down on the grass, crisscross style.

21 then stated, "First things first, I would like to proceed with your idea that you suggested to me earlier."

Mafin said, "Alright."

He closed his eyes, and reactivated his species' technique.

Mafin opened his eyes, and asked 21, "Ready?"

21 nodded in response.

The Pesutorian placed his flaming hands on the researcher's stomach. Just like before, some of the energy was slowly absorbed by 21's body.

After a minute, Mafin deactivated his technique, and 21 sighed with relief.

She smiled at the Pesutorian, "Thank you. This should fight off my urges for a while."

Mafin smiled back, "You're welcome!"

He thought, "I admit though, I'm quite amazed that the technique hasn't scorched or singed that part of her dress off. Must be made of a strong fireproof material, then..."

"I wonder...", 21 inquired, snapping Mafin out of his thoughts, "Does your species' technique have a name?"

Mafin replied, "It does. It's called the Heating Hands of Pesutori. And it's a technique that's been passed down from generation to generation."

"Interesting.", said 21, who placed a hand on her chin for a brief moment, "Who was the previous owner?"

Mafin clarified, "Well, there were actually many previous owners."

21's eyes widened in surprise, "There were?"

Mafin nodded, "Many different owners, passed down within many different families. My great uncle, Bisuk, was one of them. He only used the technique to provide heat, or starting small campfires. However, he did use it to attack someone once, but that was only for some sort of distraction."

21 asked, "How do you know this?"

Mafin replied, "He told me back when I was 15. Around that time, he had just passed the technique onto me. It was through a simple touch of our hands."

21 questioned, "So, why does the original person have to pass it on? And does the next person specifically have to be 15 years of age in order to receive it?"

Mafin explained, "It's because when the original person enters old age, the technique becomes weaker, and they're forced to pass it on to the next generation. And as for the next generation, the proper age to receive it...has always been 15 years. My uncle said that that specific age was when the Pesutorian body was at its most matured state, and ripe for the technique."

"I see.", said 21, "Quite an intriguing technique your species has. Does Pesutoria have a large history?"

Mafin grinned jubilantly, "Yes, it does! In fact, there was this one time where Begu and I went to the Cosmic Library—which is this gigantic library located in the middle of the universe—and I read SO many books about Pesutorian culture, dating all the way back to Age 100! And there were a lot of other books about other species too! Like the Saiyans, and the Namekians, and the Ice People, and the—"

He instantly shut himself up, realizing that he was now rambling.

21 let out a few soft chuckles in response.

The Pesutorian blushed in embarrassment, and rubbed the back of his head, "I'm sorry. I got a little overexcited."

21 smiled warmly, "It's okay. I can tell you're really passionate about history. I understand this feeling very well."

Mafin inquired, "You do?"

21 replied, "Yes. I've always had a fascination with nature, and I have dozens of novels that explore it in great detail, from the biological aspects of the various flora and fauna that are in nature, to just the simple beauty of it in general. Unfortunately, I never got to actually go explore for myself, due to...well, you know."

Mafin winced, "Right."

He then questioned, "But, what about the times where we fought the clones on those jungle islands?"

21 answered, "I was too focused on the mission, and too lost in my own head to even think about nature. I also couldn't go anywhere, because of the battles that were taking place around those times."

She briefly showed her MP3 to the Pesutorian, "Thankfully, I now have this to keep me occupied. "

Mafin said, "I remember seeing those devices a lot years ago."

21 questioned, "You have?"

Mafin nodded in response, "On Octoria, they were usually sold in malls, and music stores. I didn't really use mine all that much, so we gave it away. My family, I mean. Nowadays, we just use holographic devices to play music."

21 said, "Hmm. Interesting to know."

Mafin then inquired, "So, what kind of genres do you listen to on there, if...um...if you don't mind me asking?"

He let out an awkward laugh afterwards.

21 nervously bit her lip, then asked, "Um...h-have you ever heard of electronic music? I mean, does it exist in the wide, vast universe?"

Mafin replied, "It does exist. And I have listened to some, and it's pretty good. Some are called Galactic Sandland, or Slump Man. You know, weird titles like that."

"What are those artists like?"

"All of them are pretty fun to listen to. Galactic Sandland is more epic sounding, while the other one is more...uh...m-more surreal in a way, if that makes any sense."

21 gasped and exclaimed, "That's the kind of electronic music I'm listening to! The surrealistic kind!"

Mafin asked, "What artists have you heard?"

21 replied, "Just one so far. It's called Owl City."

She explained, "I looked it up online, and it turns out that it's one of several music projects that's managed by one man. For the Owl City project, his music is very surreal, but also fun, and beautiful at the same time. And even though the songs I have on my MP3 are from over a decade ago...I still really love them. I can't help it."

21 bashfully rubbed her arm as she said this.

Mafin smiled, "That's nice, though! It's good that you have music that you still personally enjoy, even if they're now somewhat outdated."

21 nodded in agreement, and said, "I was actually listening to one of his songs on the way over here. And I listened to another one while I was sitting in that field."

She unplugged the small device from her headphones, and handed it over to the Pesutorian.

He grabbed it, and examined the small screen, which was currently being paused. On the screen, it read out the name of the artist on top, the name of the song in the middle, and the name of the album at the bottom.

Owl City

"The Real World"

All Things Bright and Beautiful

Mafin smiled, "Ah, cool. Seems like a nice song."

21 happily said, "It is."

He gave the device back to 21, who placed it in her coat pocket.

Afterwards, 21 asked, "So, what other genres of music do you listen to?"

Mafin replied, "Well, um...I listen to film scores, R&B, and acoustic."

21 exclaimed, "You listen to acoustic?!"

Mafin happily said, "Yes! Yes, I do!"

21 let out a small squeal of excitement, and said, "I have an acoustic album on my MP3 that is really wonderful to listen to! And it is called—"

"Hey, uh, you guys doin' alright back here?", asked a certain voice.

Mafin and 21 turned around, and they saw Begu, as well as the rest of the androids, standing a few feet away from them.

Mafin awkwardly exclaimed, "O-Oh! Hi, Begu! How long have you been standing there?"

"Literally, a whole minute.", replied Begu, "We just got done blasting the rest of those clones to smithereens."

Mafin blinked, "Oh. Well, good to know!"

21 then said, "Right. We better resume the mission. We can talk about that album later."

Mafin nodded in response. The two of them got up, and walked over to the group.

After that, everyone proceeded to fly away from the landscape.
