Six months have passed since Hiccup returned Rapunzel to the kingdom and everything has been going perfectly fine.

Hiccup was on Toothless flying high above the sky as arrows and bolas come flying past the two.

"Come on, bud, they're gaining." Hiccup tells Toothless who screeches in agreement and flies away to avoid them all.

Down on the ground, Rapunzel has her hair tied up again and was riding on a horse when the others are gaining on them.

Toothless flies in and blasts the people gaining on her.

"Thanks!" Rapunzel appreciates them.

"No problem." Hiccup says as he and Toothless fly up, out of the way of the arrows.

As they kept going, the palace guards keep attacking as Toothless quickly blasts a few trees which block their way and notice that Rapunzel is heading towards a cliff and quickly head off to save her just as the horse she's on halts and goes flying when Toothless catches her.

They quickly land and help her down.

"I'd say that's enough for today." Rapunzel says as Pascal makes himself known from her hair.

"Well, Toothless needs to stay on his toes. And we need to keep sharp for anything that might come." Hiccup explains why he constantly has these exercises done almost every other day.

"Oh, Toothless is always ready for anything." Rapunzel says as she walks up and scratches the dragon's chin. "Isn't That right, you cute little guy?"

Toothless purrs in agreement and encourages Rapunzel to keep that up just as she scratches that spot below his chin and he drops to the ground.

"Your highness!" The captain of the guards call as they approach them. "You have been requested by the King and queen."

"Well, this is a fun way to start the morning, what do you say we make you a official princess?" Hiccup asks as he scoots Toothless, causing him to get back up and offering the two a ride.

"Nah, I'll race you back to the castle." Rapunzel states as she climbs on her horse and races back to the castle.

"Oh, did she challenge the offspring of lightning and death to a race?" Hiccup asks Toothless who laughs and they take to the sky to chase after her.

Rapunzel laughs as she looks up to see Hiccup following from close behind.

They make their way through the kingdom and met King Fredric and Queen Arianna outside the castle.

"Your majesties, what seems to be the problem?" Hiccup asks as he and Toothless land.

"Hiccup! Thank goodness you're here. We have a situation we need your assist in." King Fredric explains as they approach.

"What kind of situation?" Rapunzel asks.

"Dragons have been spotted in the forest." Queen Arianna explains to them, which surprises Hiccup that there are more dragons out here.

"I'll take care of it." Hiccup promised them as he turned to Toothless. "Let's see what we're dealing with."

"Hiccup, are you sure about this?" Rapunzel asked which Hiccup nodded quickly. "Okay, then I'll come with you."

"What?" Asked everyone.

"Rapunzel, these are wild dragons we're talking about. They won't be as friendly as Toothless." Hiccup warned her.

"I know, which is why I want to come. If they injure you while you're out there, there's going to be nobody to help you." Rapunzel explains to him. "And I promise not to get in the way."

Hiccup looks hesitant when he looks to Toothless for help but he doesn't know what to say and it seems her parents trust Hiccup enough to keep her safe, even Pascal is with Rapunzel.

"Fine, you can come," Hiccup said with a sigh and helps her onto Toothless. "But I want you to stay with Toothless the entire time. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you."

"Fine, but I know that you'll keep me safe." Rapunzel tells him whilst getting a grip onto Hiccup as Toothless took to the sky.

The description of the dragons they were given wasn't very helpful, but it shouldn't matter much to Hiccup as he knows how to help any species.

But the first thing they came across was something big in an open field.

Toothless lands as both Rapunzel and Hiccup hide behind some rocks to get a good look at the dragon.

What Hiccup saw shocked him and brought some bad memories back as Hiccup recognizes the species.

A Deathsong.

"That's a pretty big dragon." Rapunzel tells Hiccup who's still frozen in fear. "Hiccup, you okay?"

"Yeah, it's just...that's a Deathsong," Hiccup tells her.

"As in the species that almost ate you?" Asked Rapunzel who got a nod from Hiccup. "So what do we do?"

Hiccup watches closely when he notices that the dragon is trying to use it's Death Song, but watches as nothing comes out of it.

"Wait...it can't sing," Hiccup realizes.

"What does that mean?" Rapunzel wonders.

"If it can't sing, it can't attract prey and can't stop predators." Hiccup says and sees that it's alone and has to fend for itself. "Maybe this one can be trained." He says as he slowly approaches the dragon.

Rapunzel watches next to Toothless, who is ready to jump in if anything goes wrong.

The Deathsong notices Hiccup approach and snarled at him.

Hiccup raises his arms to show he's not carrying any weapons as he slows down his approach.

"It's okay. Hey, it's okay. I'm not here to hurt you." Hiccup promises as he comes face to face with the Deathsong and pulls out some fish. "You hungry?"

The Deathsong looks to the fish as Hiccup tosses it and it chews down. Hiccup does a repeat of what he did with Toothless and raises his hand whilst looking away, hoping the dragon doesn't bite his hand off.

Toothless, Pascal and Rapunzel do their best to look away if something goes wrong, but they want to be ready for something to happen just as the Deathsong presses it's snout to Hiccup's hand.

"See? We're not here to hurt you. We just want to know what you were doing here." Hiccup said, figuring it chose to come here after loosing its voice.

Rapunzel was so deep in thought that she didn't notice the Deathsong slowly approaching her until she was face to face with the dragon.

"Hi," Rapunzel greeted the dragon as Pascal hid in her hair before looking at Hiccup for help.

"It looks to me like she wants to see if she can trust you, just like I did." Hiccup explained to her.

Rapunzel sighed and looked at the dragon as she remembered what Hiccup did. She brought her hand out and closed her eyes whilst looking away. A few seconds later, she felt the dragon's snout against her palm.

"Wow. This is amazing!" Rapunzel said as she scratches the Deathsong's chin. Even Pascal came out and seemed to like the dragon.

"What do you want to call her?" Hiccup asks.

"Hmm...how about Serenity?" Rapunzel asks as the Deathsong screeches, showing it likes it and pushes her snout against Rapunzel.

"Seems she likes that." Hiccup laughs and sees that's one dragon down.

The next two were fairly easier to deal with as one was a Monstrous Nightmare, and the other a Windstriker.

They were easier to tame as Hiccup had come across dozens of them in the wild.

The Windstriker had a broken leg whilst the Nightmare had a broken wing. They were easy to fix, once they were brought to the castle.

The Nightmare seemed to have grown to like the king as they bonded and named him Flameheart.

The Windstriker on the other hand got close to Arianna who named her dragon Windbreaker.

Their bonding training was ruined when they heard even more dragons approaching.

The family looked outside and saw even more dragons approaching.

Hiccup didn't know what was going on until the dragons started shooting fire. Then, he knew what was happening, it was a dragon raid!

"What is going on?" Arianna asked.

"I don't know how to say this, but it's a raid." Hiccup explained.

"What? But why would they raid us?" King Fredrik questioned.

"I don't know, but we have to do something." Hiccup said when a bad idea came into mind. "Dragon Island."

"What?" Rapunzel asks.

"The dragons that raided my home, these are the same dragons. They all return to the same place every time, within a thick fog that nobody has ever returned from."

"And you're thinking of going there, aren't you?" Rapunzel could easily see.

"Toothless can guide me through the fog, he can be my eyes. If we can learn why they're attacking further than Berk, we can put a stop to them." Hiccup explains and before Rapunzel can ask to go with, he stops her. "And you need to stay here and get to know your dragons, I'll be fine."

"Okay. Just...be careful." Rapunzel asks and pecks his cheek.

"I'm always careful." Hiccup says as he kisses her cheek and climbs on Toothless. "Don't worry. We'll be back before you know it."

With that, the two take to the skies, back to the world he once called home.
