Hey all! Been a couple of weeks, so I figured it was high time for an update to the story. We'll be doing the third and final part to the Bounty Hunter. Hope you enjoyed the last chapter, it was fun to put more detail into the big battle than I did when I made the episode itself. But in any case, let's move onto the actual story. Enjoy!
Chapter 11
Turtle Power
Guiron's insane laughter continued as Godzilla and Rodan looked in shock at the flaming blade that was replacing his original blade. Well, Rodan anyway. Godzilla, being Godzilla, pretended to be unphased. "You think a flaming blade can do much against me?"
"Me don't know," said Guiron with a sly grin. "Let's find out!" And with that, he leapt into the air, and began rotating forward. He kept rotating faster and faster, until he was going so fast he looked like an airborne wheel of fire.
"Look out dude," cried Rodan. But before either could dodge, the wheel struck them both, causing a massive explosion. Both Godzilla and Rodan cried out in pain as they were sent crashing to the ground in opposite directions.
Guiron landed and cracked up laughing, as the blade was still aflame as bright as ever. Godzilla weakly tried to get to his feet, much to Guiron's amusement. "Godzilla no match for Guiron now! He already weak from fighting Gigan and Megalon!"
"But I'm not," said Rodan, getting back to his feet.
"Guiron begs to differ!" In a flash, Guiron fired a powerful heat ray from the flaming blade. It struck Rodan hard in the throat, burning right through the skin, and even out the other side. Rodan stumbled, and collapsed. The attack had come very close to killing him.
Guiron turned his attention back to Godzilla. "You've lost, Monster King!"
Godzilla managed to get on one knee. "No. I won't lose! I just need to get my second wind."
Guiron shook his head. "You won't be getting the chance this time. Prepare for burning decapitation!" He leapt into the air, preparing to bring down the blade for a fatal blow, when suddenly a large spinning shell slammed into him, knocking him out of the sky. Guiron got back up, mad as hell. "WHO DID THAT!? Guiron demands to kno..." His eyes narrowed into a fierce glare as he saw what had struck him. "You!"
The shell stopped spinning, and a head, arms, and legs popped out. The mighty Gamera landed, and faced his old foe. "Leave my friends alone, Guiron!"
Godzilla finally managed to get to his feet, and growled. He wasn't exactly happy to see Gamera here. After all, he viewed the turtle as a legitimate threat to his title as King of the Monsters. What made it worse was that everyone else loved Gamera. He just couldn't understand why. Godzilla was about to rejoin the battle, not wishing to be upstaged by a turtle, but then he saw something on the ground. "Huh? Guiron's blade!" He picked it up and grinned. "Perfect."
Guiron approached Gamera. "Guiron's learned new tricks since our last battle, turtle! Gamera won't be winning!"
Gamera rolled his eyes. "Then give me your best shot." Guiron responded with another blast of his powerful heat ray from the flaming blade. It slammed into Gamera's face, right where he expected it would burn into the brain. But instead, Gamera began to glow brightly, and in a matter of seconds, the attack was forcibly ceased, and the flaming blade was seemingly pulled off of Guiron and into Gamera.
Guiron looked on in horror. "What!? No! No! What happened!?"
Gamera laughed and began approaching Guiron. "Idiot. Did you forget I get extra strength by absorbing heat and fire? You're finished!"
"Guiron think not!" Guiron quickly unleashed his favorite backup attack, his shuriken. They flew through the air, and hit Gamera in the eyes. Gamera screamed and blindly stumbled away, trying to get the weapons out. Guiron laughed at the sight. "Guiron will deliver your head for free, Gamera. But first, me have a bounty to collect. After all, Ghidorah pays really well!"
Rodan looked up in surprise from where he rested, injured. "Ghidorah," he repeated in a low raspy voice.
Guiron turned to Godzilla, who had something hidden behind his back. "Ok Godzilla. We finish our dance now!"
Godzilla smiled. "Gladly. Oh, hey, you dropped this." He threw Guiron's old blade with all his might. It flew quickly through the air, giving the bounty hunter no time to react. It sliced through his neck, cutting all the way through. And with that, Guiron's severed head fell to the ground with a loud thump.
"Yes," exclaimed Godzilla. "Another win for me!"
"For us you mean," said Rodan, still struggling to get up.
"Excellent shot, Godzilla," said Gamera, having recovered just in time to see the finishing blow.
"I don't know who sent you, Guiron," said Godzilla. "But I hope they're watching."
"NOOOOOOOO," screamed Ghidorah from the cliffs of Fog Mountain. "It was perfect! Foolproof! Guiron couldn't fail!"
SpaceGodzilla laughed. "Well, guess what that means you three-headed nuisance? Your time here is over. Get off this planet before I..." Before he could finish, King crunched onto his throat, causing him to scream in surprise and pain.
"Did you really think you could trust the word of the Destroyer of Worlds? We are the embodiment of evil, you pathetic space clone! And we will not be intimidated by even you!"
SpaceGodzilla, clawed at King, forcing him to let go. He felt blood oozing from the wound on his throat. Suddenly, Kevin slithered over, and kissed the wound. "There, boo boo all better!"
SpaceGodzilla, grabbed Kevin by the throat, and began choking him. "I knew I couldn't trust you Ghidorah. But the thing is. You can't trust me either!" And he launched out his sharp tipped tail, sinking it into King Ghidorah's gut. Both King and Ghidorah screamed from the pain. Kevin managed to laugh, despite also choking. Then SpaceGodzilla released the head, and used his telekinesis to launch the monster across the area.
"No one kills Godzilla but me," said SpaceGodzilla. "Remember that!"
"Remember this, freak," screeched King. Then, as one, all three heads unleashed powerful blasts of electricity. SpaceGodzilla was taken by surprise, but reacted fast enough to fire a burst of his powerful Corona Beam. It collided with the three electric blasts, and a beam fight ensued, that resulted in a powerful explosion that knocked both monsters backwards. SpaceGodzilla was launched, screaming over the edge of the clifftop, and he vanished into the fog below.
King looked up. "Good. He's dead."
"Don't be stupid," said Ghidorah.
"Yeah," said Kevin, very pleased to feel that his head was on fire. "Stupid is my job!" He laughed and began dancing happily as his head continued to burn.
King Ghidorah stood up. Ghidorah looked toward where SpaceGodzilla had fallen. "Even if he didn't have the power of flight, that fall wouldn't kill a creature with that kind of power. We'll meet him again in due time."
"Hey," said King. "Look who's back." Ghidorah looked, and glared as the injured forms of Gigan and Megalon flew up.
"So, how'd we do boss," asked Gigan, as they landed. "Did you see the fight we put up?"
King shook his head. "All we saw was you two fleeing like cowards!"
Megalon glared. He'd taken enough abuse from Godzilla, and didn't feel like taking this. "Oh sure. Like you've never run away in a fight! You're more cowardly than us!"
"Megalon," shrieked Gigan.
"What did you just say, worm," asked Ghidorah, practically shaking with rage.
Megalon now realized his mistake, and tried to recover. "Oh, uh, I mean, I only know what Gigan tells me behind your back!"
"MEGALON," screamed Gigan.
The three heads blasted with their electricity again, brutally punishing the two friends who screamed in agony.
"Well it was nice working with Godzilla," said Gamera. "You saved the..." Before he could finish, Godzilla blasted him in the face with his nuclear breath. The attack didn't hurt Gamera too much, but he was hurt in another way. "What was that for? I'm your friend."
"I could have beaten him without you, Gamera!"
Gamera cocked his head. "I never said you couldn't. It just looked like you needed help, and I have experience fighting Guiron, so I just thought..."
"When I want your help, I'll ask for it! No, I'll demand it! I am the king after all!"
"Goji," said Rodan, finally forcing himself to his feet. "Calm down."
"Shut up Rodan," yelled Godzilla. "And you Gamera...you get out of here. If I see you near my home again, I'll kill you!"
Gamera glared, but turned away. "If you ever need me, Godzilla. You only have to ask." And with that, he flew away.
Godzilla laughed. "Like that will ever happen. When Kumonga flies." He turned back to Rodan. "Good battle Rodie! You and I really showed those guys, huh?"
Rodan looked around in confusion. "So...what was that about?"
"What do you mean," asked Godzilla.
"Chasing Gamera away after he saved our butts? You were kinda out of line."
Godzilla rolled his eyes. "Please, we had the situation under control before that jerk stuck his nose into our business."
"From where I was lying, near death myself, you looked like you were about to be missing your head."
"Maybe you were at death's door," said Godzilla. "But I was a-ok!"
"So, you didn't need my help either," asked Rodan.
"Not really," said Godzilla. "But your help is more than welcome. You definitely made the fight go by quicker. Til Gamera showed up and ruined everything."
"What's your deal with him, dude?"
"I hate him," said Godzilla. "Everyone knows he's after my title. He's just a wannabe who's planning to strike me down the first chance he gets, and I have no intention of letting him!"
"What are you talking about," asked Rodan. "He's been nothing but nice to you! He's never even hinted at lusting for your title. He seems perfectly happy with his own."
"Yeah," said Godzilla. "Friend of Children, woohoo. Get him a show on PBS!"
"I meant Guardian of the Universe," said Rodan. "And he's earned that title. You know what the rest of us feel when he's around? Respect! And what do monsters think when you're around? Fear! You're a loose cannon Godzilla. Gamera cares about everyone. You only care about you."
"Hey, I care about Angy!"
Rodan glared. "Then maybe tell him about his parents."
Godzilla roared, and grabbed Rodan by the throat. "Don't go there!"
Rodan swallowed, and pushed himself free. "Look, I overheard Guiron say something during the battle. It was King Ghidorah who sent him. He's back. Probably somewhere on this island. You know you always need help with him."
Godzilla shrugged. "You and Angy are all I need."
"And what of your brother? SpaceGodzilla's recent team up with Hedorah and Destoroyah is not something to take lightly. Those are three of your toughest foes, and you'll need all the help you can get. Gamera would be a great ally to..."
"I SAID NO," screamed Godzilla. "Just leave me alone!"
Rodan sighed. "You know, if being King of the Monsters is that important that you can treat your own friends like this, maybe you should lose it." With that, Rodan flew off...and then crashed, still weak from the battle. "Uh...meant to do that." He then got up, and limped away.
Godzilla sighed as he watched him go. "Maybe Rodie's right." But then his thoughts returned to Gamera, and he growled.
